Original vs. rendered sketches for this Lachryma-inspired Terzo 🕺
I was looking back on these today and feeling reflective. I drew these very quickly and went in circles for at least an hour trying to clean up the linework, but I kept finding myself coming back to the messiness of the originals...there's something sort of 70s Disney about them that felt very nostalgic and comforting to me. I ended up leaving a lot of the "mistakes" in the final versions.
I look back on these fairly regularly now when I need a reminder that digital art doesn't have to be completely clean to still be an enjoyable process. Drawing these were some of the most fun I've had doing art in a while, especially experimenting more with color.

Offscreen, Dipper probably went on a crazy, fantastical journey to break into the multiverse and find his great uncle. It was at LEAST as intense and eventful as one full season of gravity falls. Made friends, enemies, friends from his enemies, maybe a whirlwind romance. And the whole thing was leading up to finding his grunkle in a fucked up contest to determine which Man Will Become Pregnant.
(Congrats on making it to the finals, Ford!! I'm actually so excited about this.)

#billford#stanford pines#dipper pines#gravity falls#gravity falls fanart#need him pregnant poll#getfordpregnant2025#sketchbook#drawing this one was actually very tricky and awkward#cuz I finished my previous sketchbook using up all the pages for this comic#so i got out an old strathmore sketch pad and the paper is THIN and ROUGH. not to mention BIG#so i had to scan each page multiple times and editing took FOREVEERRR#I scanned like 20 images - and even though I wasnt drawing on the back of the pages#they scanned all see through and you could see drawings from other panels very clearly#so I had to remove each page from the pad and RE SCAN THEMMMM#and its almost 90 degrees in my house so ya. i'm a little crabby DKFLGHKJ#but i love drawing these. this is actually the sort of crazy shit that plays out in my head during Imagining Hours#and I don't think I ever draw the batshit things my brain comes up with. so this is a first!!
