seeing all those sheep/goat vaschete asks inspired me to draw these (they got a bit more lazy as i went on but it's whatevs)

i like to imagine that machete could be a long haired goat breed which would give him his signature floof! couldn't choose which one to settle with tho ^^"

#aaaa these are so charming #I'm having trouble deciding which one I like the most #the goats have the floof and impressive horns #but the two sheep are also really appealing from character design standpoint #border leicester is one of my favorite breeds of sheep they have such excellent shapes #intense roman noses and big rabbit ears #and it's kind of comical how little Machete's face changes when you switch from dog to this specific sheep #and jacob sheep are simply iconic in their own right #these are lovely #thank you!#gift art #sloppygoaty #Machete #own characters #you have a lot more faith in his capability to grow a pair impressive horns than I do #I feel like his would either be kind of unremarkable #or he would have them removed entirely to look more sheeplike

I know that we don't talk about the sequel trilogy after Episode IX destroyed it, but I think that makes us forget just how good Rey's intro was. Her masked descent into the giant spaceship to scrounge for parts. Living alone in the desert and playing with her pilot's helmet. All those tally marks scratched into her wall. The way she works all day to scrounge parts and gets a tiny packet of food that turns into that cool instant-bread. So then when she's asked to sell BB-8 and is offered a giant pile of food, we see how much it means to her, and we understand just how huge a sacrifice she's making when she decides to do the right thing. Sure, the character arc didn't live up to the potential, but we overlook the fact that there was so much potential and it was so good.

#star wars #the force awakens #i fell down a little bit of a star wars rabbit hole on youtube #and it's reminding me how much affection i still do have for eps vii and viii #i've mostly erased them from my memory after ep ix #but i'm remembering all these moments and images and characters that *were* good and *did* make me feel things #i mean introducing kylo ren by showing him stopping a blaster bolt with the force? that is such an insanely cool visual #how it crackles and sizzles and you *feel* all that energy and that power #and it just hangs there in the background for a several minute scene until it finally releases and explodes and ends the scene #independently of the whole 'destroying the original trilogy thing' these have some amazing concepts #and yeah a lot of those images and concepts have no coherent story behind them but it doesn't change the fact that they're *good* concepts #star wars is at its best a giant toybox and those movies had so many *amazing* toys

Ms. Cobel's giant storm triptych that takes up the entire wall and engulfs her + her bust of kier vs Mr. Milchick's tiny iceberg painting + rabbit/duck optical illusion statuette can mean a lot to a person. If they're me. Perhaps even the largest, most unsinkable ships should steer clear of storms and icebergs, no matter how small they seem.

#Milchick also has a kier thing in his office but I wanted to choose one object #severance #severance season 2 #severance spoilers #<- maybe?#the iceberg is already symbolically...it's a dangerous but inert object - so so much larger than it appears on the surface #that PLUS how comically small the painting is on that wall....#the storm so large it takes up not only the entire wall but also THREE different panels...#woman who's simmering and angry and mysterious and destructive ('you're scared of me.') How Lumon has used her all her life #and she cannot be contained any longer vs a man who's trying his best to be whatever Lumon wants him to be - whose identity is not up to hi #but the viewer. Is this a duck or a rabbit? It's whatever Lumon says it is and if they don't like what they say it is then Milchick must #change it. What a small iceberg (lumon thinks) surely it won't damage my ship too much to crash right into it.#the storm will pass.

BUT.#in high school when i was just starting to like. understand anatomy as skill that i could Actively Practice #instead of just drawing whatever the hell i wanted and hoping it looked okay #i spent entire art classes just TEARING thru their deviantart page and drawing my blorbos in the poses i found #because my art teacher didnt know what to do with me since i was blowing through all the regular assignments WAY too fast #so she really just let me go nuts #and this was still homestuck mind you. like. it was 2013-2014 i was very much in the rabbit hole already #so fundamentally i have changed as a person in the last decade but also no i havent #ANYWAY it was adorkastock and line of action that basically got me Actually Improving at art at that point. cant recommend them enough trul

many of my dog friends are dealing with their first ever ticks this year so please take this as a reminder if you're in north america to get your dog on flea/tick preventative and check them regularly!!!

#unfortunately ticks sre going to be one of the noticeable impacts of climate change #with winters no longer cold enough to kill them and more abundant fires (and early succession veg) encouraging more deer rabbit and moose #which are tick spreading species #i prefer oral preventatives because topical are subject to absorption and can be diluted with lots of swimming #(caveat tick preventatives kill ticks on first bite so you may still find ticks on your dog. but dead ticks are easier to deal with.)#ticks are everywhere btw not just in the wild #people are picking them up in the city from sidewalk walks #it happens #check your dogs (pets) and get them on preventatives #we used to pick up hundreds each hike when we lived in saskatchewan so im past the ick factor at this point #but seriously even if your area was never at risk before - you are likely to be at risk in the next 2-5 years. sorry.
