Jupiter and Pluto are actually incredibly problematic and I can't believe so many people still support them!

It's late I'm tired have some
Unwarranted Opinions on The Solar System
The Sun: solidly middle-of-the-road star. Only really impressive in conjunction with The Moon (see below), but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. 5/10.
Mercury: A pretty uninspired start to the planets, all things considered. Venus does the whole "being hot and close to the sun" thing way better, so I don't really see the point. 0/10.
Venus: Hot, bright, instantly recognizable, and a fascinating counterpoint to Earth. 9/10 only because it doesn't have a nice big moon named Cupid or something - I feel like there was a missed opportunity there.
Earth: This might just be four billion years of evolution talking, but this planet is literally perfect. Dry land and oceans constantly changing shape and thus never getting stale; an atmosphere that filters out most dangerous radiation without being too hard to see through; a functioning magnetosphere; the list of its virtues goes on and on. And even if that somehow weren't enough, I've literally never seen another planet with life on it and that's enough to get Earth an automatic 10/10 for originality.
The Moon: THE best satellite in the entire Solar System and if you disagree we WILL fight. It's a beautiful color, its endless tiny details variably highlighted by its phases mean there's always something new to look at, and it's just the right size and distance from Earth to fully eclipse the Sun and leave only its corona and prominences exposed in the most spectacular display in space or anywhere. If you need me to explain why that makes it THE BEST I will be forced to assume you have no brain. Infinity/10, I am in love.
Mars: Basic details out of the way - I love the color and the extreme geography. Having the biggest mountain in the Solar System counts for something. Besides that, it's thematically fascinating, haunted by the ghosts of what would have been had it been able to hold on to its magnetosphere and atmosphere. I'd give it a perfect score but its dust storms have been unkind to the rovers and I neither forget nor forgive. 8/10.
Phobos & Deimos: stupid useless space potatoes. 1/10 only because Mars will have rings when Phobos finally bites it.
The Asteroid Belt: Meh. 0/10.
Ceres: It may be the only dwarf planet inside the orbit of Neptune, but it's still a dwarf planet. 2/10.
Trojans: Asteroid Belt but "artistic." 1/10.
Jupiter: impressive size, tasteful color palette, and the red spot gives it a bit of intrigue. Too many moons though. 7/10.
The Galilean Moons: fascinating orbital resonance. Shame Callisto won't get with the program. 7/10.
All of Jupiter's Other Moons: too many, and they keep finding new ones, none of which are spherical. Quantity isn't everything, guys. 3/10.
Saturn: the boring color palette is more than made up for, and the excessive number of moons justified, by those SPECTACULAR rings. No other planet has rings that beautiful. Why aren't more planets like this? 10/10.
Saturn's Moons: yeah, some of them have fun little gimmicks, but I really only like them inasmuch as they keep the rings in place. 5/10.
Uranus: the massive axial tilt is refreshingly original and the blue color is easy on the eyes. The lack of rings or memorable moons is a bit of a letdown. A lesser reviewer might make base puns but all the astronomers I know pronounce it differently and the jokes no longer land. 8/10.
Neptune: redundant. 2/10.
The Kuiper Belt: mysterious and full of comets. The Asteroid Belt could never. 6/10.
Pluto: I don't have anything against Pluto itself - the fact that it's so tiny and yet has (at least) five moons gives it a certain charm that a body like Mercury simply lacks. It's the fandom I can't stand. There are three criteria for a body to be classified as a planet, Pluto does not meet one of them, and the sentimental value you place on it and its mistaken former classification does not override this. Any appeal to the perceived injustice of Pluto's classification reveals a deep-seated hypocrisy - I don't see any of you going to bat for Eris. All that said, I will not let this nuisance compromise Pluto's rating. 9/10 for being a funny little guy.
Eris: fun fact, Eris is smaller in diameter but more massive than Pluto. Other than that, I'm not sure what it's got going for it. To be fair to Eris though, neither does anybody else. 5/10.
Haumea: It's an egg with two moons and a ring system. What more could you want? 8/10.
Other Dwarf Planets: Eh. 3/10 for mystery.
The Oort Cloud: the most distant extremity of our Solar System, full of comets and possibility. 10/10.

on worldbuilding, and what people think is going on
there is one facet of fantasy worldbuilding that is, to me, the most interesting and essential but i don't see it come up in worldbuilding guides or writing prompts or anything, and that is the question of:
what do the inhabitants of your world believe about how the world works, and how are they wrong? a lot of fantasy media will set up their cosmology, gods, magic systems, planar systems, concepts of the afterlife, &c., and proceed as though the inhabitants of the world know and understand them.
from someone whose entire academic career is focused on studying human culture in various regions and time periods, with a focus on belief systems (religion, occultism, mythology, folklore): that sort of worldbuilding is unrealistic and missing out on so much fun.
people are always seeking new understanding about how the world works, and they are mostly wrong. how many models of the solar system were proposed before we reached our current one? look at the long, turbulent history of medicine and our various bizarre models for understanding the human body and how to fix it. so many religions and occult/magical traditions arise from people disagreeing with or adapting various models of the world based on new ideas, methods, technologies. many of them are wrong, but all of them are interesting and reflect a lot about the culture, beliefs, values, and fears of the people creating/practising them.
there is so much more to the story of what people believe about the world than just what is true.
to be clear: i think it's fine and important for the author to have a coherent explanation for where magic comes from or who the gods are, so they can maintain consistency in their story. but they should also be asking what people in the world (especially different people, in different regions/nations and different times) think is happening when they do magic, or say a prayer, or practise medicine, or grieve their dead. it is a rich vein for conflict between individuals and nations alike when two models of the world disagree. it is fascinating how different magic systems might develop according to different underlying beliefs.
personally, i think it is the most fun to spawn many diverse models of the world, but give none of them the 'right' answer.
(bonus points if you also have a thriving academic system in the world with its own theory, research, and discourse between factions! as an academic, it is very fun to imagine fictional academic debate over the topics i'm worldbuilding. sometimes i will be working out details for some underlying mechanic of the world and start imagining the papers being written by scholars researching it)

my incredibly stupid hot take that will piss off any of my followers who work for nasa, is that if we find out for SURE there are no extant lifeforms on any of the other planets in our solar system, we should put some there for funsies, just to see where it goes in like a million years
like if we definitively prove for SURE that there AREN'T bacteriophages on titans subterranean (subtitanium?) oceans? fuck it launch some microbes over there, see how they do. give it some space tardigrades, some phytoplanktons, the works.
like yeah you could make an argument for preserving the universe in its pristine state but also i don't give a shit, we already live in the universe, we are the natural state. i know i'm fully inviting the possibility of reigniting Asteroid Mining Discourse (god what a silly thing that was) but i don't care it'll be funny
if there aren't any lifeforms there that we could potentially harm by introducing new ones that outcompete them, then as far as i'm concerned it's an inert rock, which yes, has the intrinsic value of existing as it does, as a natural curiosity, but which in most cases i don't see having any *more* intrinsic value than "that same natural curiosity but also we put some tiny little guys on there for shits and giggles to see what they do,"

Ok so we all know about the "is Pluto a planet?" discourse. As I've stated before, I personally do not care so much about that question as long as the total number of planets you think there are in the Solar System is not 9. In that vein, I am interested in knowing how many of the named planetary bodies (rocky planets, giant planets and dwarf planets) people know—which you can find out through this quiz
Some disclaimers:
For convenience's sake I use "planet" here to refer to "rocky planets", "giant planets" and "dwarf planets", regardless of whether the latter should be a separate category altogether or indeed a sub-category.
The dwarf planets are taken from Wikipedia and they are not all of equal status or certainty. Among the possible dwarf planet candidates for which the data is lacking and are thus not on the list are also two named ones—I added the last option in the poll if you know those two as well by chance.
And if you've scored at least 13: congratulations, you have my blessing to call Pluto a planet 😌 (or if you learned about them after scoring, that's fine too!)

Thank Jod the Nine Houses didn't have social media or internet. If they had any Corona would've been one of those girls who posts everything on Necrogram and she would've uploaded a photo of the final battle, posing in the foreground, tagging it as "I'm about to loose my skank sister".
The Second house would've been the "leaked military document on wartunder forums" equivalent in their world if any multiplayer games were reinvented. It would happen constantly and the Sixth would just document the leaks.
The Third would be full of influencers who did their best to sell shit to people and cry when someone - probably from the sixth - called them out on it. There would be constant media campaigns insisting everything is fine on the Eight, the Seventh would be just really long update posts.
The Ninth would be the only house I can see not participating in this, but the idea of Harrow following online discourse and commanding her followers to send hate mail to their "enemies" is just infinitely funny to me.
What about Ianthe? Well, she is a flesh magician, not computer savy - wrong! You know that bitch is a control freak. She would learn how to take down websites that talked shit about her and Corona. Ianthe is the person who could break into databases and just: get away with it, for fun. She could fuck with people from across the solar system to her hearts desire, do you really think she would pass up on that opportunity? Please.

Zentralgestirne (…des letzten Menschen) Pt.I/V
film-photograph on baryte print
60x40cm
Edition 05+03AP
2022
„ suddenly the three mock suns united in one, and plunged into the sea. A few seconds afterwards, a deafening watery sound came up with awful peal from the spot where they had disappeared. (…) it appeared as if suddenly the motion of earth was revealed to us–as if no longer we were ruled by ancient laws, but were turned adrift in an unknown region of space. Many cried aloud, that these were no meteors, but globes of burning matter, which had set fire to the earth, and caused the vast cauldron at our feet to bubble up with its measureless waves.“
(Mary Shelley The Last Man 1826 p. 487)
The body of work „Zentralgestirne“ is a photographic reflection of Mary Shelleys novel „The last man“ which was released in 1826 representing late romanticism while at the same time pioneering apocalyptic science-fiction. The story of Verney as last living human being on an earth shaken by plagues and natural catastrophes can also be interpreted as literary anticipation of current thought models regarding posthumanity. In midst the description of rising apocalypse as result of a gigantic mesh of nonhuman rejections lies the general questionning of human sovereignty. The motif of collective loss of human control is central to the three part novel and uncovers the absurdity of romantic discourses and conceptions of dominating nature in the early 19th century. While in the scenery above Verney as a human spectator is watching three sunlike meteors from top of the dover cliffs the series „Zentralgestirne“ is multiplying the sun itself.
On the one hand the photographic result of multiple central stars at the sky seemingly accompanying each other in total equality and harmony is mimicking this specific section quoted above. On the other hand it can be seen as a demonstration of alternative thinking apart from what is humanly imaginable. Decomposing the one and only reality of a central and often godlike described star in our solar system can also lead to reevaluating the concept of humanity as one and only force dominating on a planetary scale. In the multiplicity of the three central stars lies a symbol of equality, cooperation and interrelation in the sense of for example polytheistic religion. This way „Zentralgestirne“ takes Shelleys Last man and transformes him into becoming the last man as representative of a human self image which in the 21. century seems to be more and more outdated.

No. Nope.
Using language that systems may also use in a medical setting to describe their expereinces and go through treatment is not appropriation. Full stop.
There is no culture being exploited, unless you want to argue that the medical-industrial complex is a closed culture somehow.
Which I have definitely seen posts saying something dangerously close to this, and I urge you to not base your entire sense of self on the guys making money off of you. Even if they're helping, there's intentional siphoning of money from poor patients.
Secondly, language is a tool used to communicate. Words exist as "bodies" to a concept, and sometimes this concept is interpreted a little differently from person to person. There are a lot of words that mean several different things depending on the context. The most important thing is the setting which they're used in. A good ammount of medical terms are also words that are used by laymen in other contexts, meaning something different.
A system is a group of interrelated parts working together as a whole.
An Operating System (OS) is a system of code and software that tells the hardware what to do in order to make your computer run. There's agricultural systems, government systems, the solar system itself. Are these things appropriating the medical-industrial complex by existing as parts that make one whole thing work?
And before anyone splits hairs about this, I am not equating human life to computers or the government. These are examples of things that are literally defined AS SYSTEMS. The main takeaway you should be having here is that system is a broad term with many many applications outside of the medical-industrial complex. That one institution does not own the word nor the concept of being multiple parts (headmates/alters/whatever) working together.
The concept still exists and system still is a word outside of a medical context.
In other words, people would have eventually came to the conclusion of calling themselves systems regardless of if it was used in a medical context or not. It's not hard to put 2 and 2 together, to see parallels in concepts and expereinces and decide those words work just fine. Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk.
This is a post online, made by a trauma-formed system. I'm not going to have the time and foresight to cover every little nuance, and I don't care to be pedantic and pick apart small case instances. At the end of the day, this does not actually matter to how I live my life, how I get therapy, how we as a system have to work together. Endos using terms that are also used in a medical setting (but also used outside of medical settings) is not harmful to me in any way. And quite frankly, I think anti-endo witchunting has done more damage to us as a system trying to figure out how to navigate life than any endo friendly post has. I'm not arguing semantics, I'm going to go live my life and go outside and do my job and pay my bills like everyone else.
All this discourse around stealing terms and what you can and can't call yourself is so seriously unimportant in the grand scheme of things. You all sound so comfy and privileged to be worried about something so trivial as a word or three that is used in multiple contexts accross human language.
#syscourse#<- once again tagging bc yall need to see this and read it and really get it into your heads#im tired of boring terminology “”debates“”#theres no debate language exists and people use it too bad so sad#theres more important things to talk about#LIKE THE EXPLOITATION OF THE VULNERABLE IN THE MEDICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX MAYBE ?????

Máni: Man in the Moon Dwarf Planet ~ 15 June 2025
Máni: Man in the Moon Dwarf Planet ~ 15 June 2025, Philip Sedgwick
Since the naming of Máni is breaking news (as if we’ve not had any of that lately), I decided to move up this week’s SkyScraping post. The week of 23 June, we should be back to a regularly scheduled post.
Funny how it goes out there at the currently perceived edge of the solar system. While Chad Trujillo and Michael Brown conducted a search for Pluto-sized Kuiper belt objects at Palomar Observatory, on 18 June 2002, they encountered 2002 MS4. Once the orbit’s orbital elements could be confirmed, the object became minor solar system body 307261. And this past week, this object became known as Máni. Currently, this likely dwarf planet stands at 19 Capricorn 23 on your friendly ecliptical dial.
Likely dwarf planet, is it? Máni's mean diameter figures to be 796 km (495 mi), which places it between the diameters of the dwarf planet Ceres and proto planet Vesta. Máni is the 10th largest known TNO, to date. If Charon gets thrown into the mix, then it drops to number eleven on the largest KBO chart.
Máni‘s name derives from the Old Norse and means "Moon.” According to Germanic mythology, Máni, is the brother of the personified sun, Sól (I am not sure what personified sun suggests). Scholars speculate that he refers to the Northern European notion of the Man in the Moon.
Máni’s eccentricity of 0.1453 stands in the moderate range; its inclination is 17.7° - not particularly spectacular. With a rotation period of 14.251 hours, Máni’s revolution about the Sun runs 269.48 years, and creates the assumption that this object is a classical cubewano. However, Máni possesses a diverse and wide-ranging topography. On its surface, Máni sports a mountain that is 25 km high contrasted with a crater estimated to be 45 km deep, current assessments are entirely speculative.
What does Máni mean interpretively? Máni's north node slices the ecliptic at 6 Scorpio 13. His perihelion is 11 Gemini 04. An amalgamation of these factors notes a perceived urgency that pushes communication out there, ready or not. Such discourse renderings do well to ensure the messaging that resonates at the core interval level. The orbital elements combined establish a superficiality-free zone. Evocative is where it happens. Blow a person’s mind so they feel through and through. Exploit emotional attachments to create logical perspectives intending to simplify muddied feelings.
Given the communication conjuring innate within Máni, expect that matters involving AI are strongly impacted. An innate skill for conjuring lore, storytelling especially emotionally evocative or scary tales dominates ones skill set with Máni prominent. As well, this body seems to enjoy pranking, and is simultaneously susceptible to catfishing (online impersonation). Máni shows up in a time of rampant online fraud and fakes, to demand each person trust their absolute instincts about conditions and challenges they face. It may be more than you think. It might also be a wisp of what is feared.
More to come from the Kuiper Belt soon... when, who knows? We do know that those searching the skies are relentless with their efforts in a good way. Incidentally, on 15 May, the SkyScraping dealt with a Planet 9 update. Mike Brown, co-discoverer of Máni and astronomer largely responsible for Pluto’s planetary status demotion, does not believe that the crew that discovered Telisto found Planet 9. At least it’s not the object he’s hound dogging out there in space. This reminds me of the amazing stories surrounding modern planet discovery. Modern being anything from Uranus onward. In each discovery instance since Uranus, there has been political intrigue, something less than ideal human behavior, funding issues, squabbles over naming the object and insane competitiveness.
If you want to be the first kid on the block to have the latest Kuiper Belt news, hop onboard with the KBGASP program. Those in the program have already received an ephemeris for the new dwarf planet, updated orbital data sheet, and a set of keywords including those for interpreting Máni.
A reminder that the KBGASP program if engaged before 4 July, also includes the option of adding a one-hour consultation for a discounted rate of $399.99. And this permits you to order a Galactic Report for nearly half off (additional $7). Please e-mail for payment options.

Fictive & other introject source list!
Partway for personal records and partway an invitation to ask us about source/fictive related things! Our system management can make sure no questions are directed at members uncomfortable with answering, so please feel free to engage respectfully regarding source stuff! 💙
While most of our introjects do identify as an iteration of their sourceselves and have the memories to match, please keep in mind that some things about us and our memories might be divergent or completely different from source, and consider that you might get an answer different from what you expect because of this.
Please remember that we don't agree with every single ideal expressed in every single one of these sources! Just because we have fictives from somewhere doesn't mean we're caught up on The Discourse™ or support every sketchy ideology connected to it. Thank you!

order must be maintained in this galaxy
STELLAR CONDUCT respect the orbit that keeps this space intact! absolutely no homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, racism etc. absolutely no minors or ageless blogs, i'm 23 and i will write smut.
SOLAR SYSTEM OF SHARING all content within this galaxy belongs to its creator. i've spent HOURS on my banners/dividers, pls do not steal ty. as for fic inspo... i would be honored just credit :3
WISHING UPON A STAR i don't specifically take requests, but if there's something you want me to write shoot it my way and i'll see if i can make it happen.
NEBULA OF CONTEXT for now, i only write for Choso, Gojo, Sukuna, and Geto. i don't think i could ever will myself to write for Toji (i'm so sorry i just don't find him attractive. no shame, tho) and i don't hate Nanami... he's just not my type, so i'm scared to write him because i feel like i'd be doing him a disservice. i do not write stuff including bodily fluids like shit... piss... vomit... etc. though i have yet to, i'm not against writing noncon or other darker themes. just no overly nasty stuff.
COSMIC CALENDAR i don't have a set upload schedule, but 9 times out of 10 i am working on new stuff nearly every day. if i'm releasing a multi-chapter fic (not one shot series) i personally like to get all if not most of it done before i even post the first chap, so i'll usually post a chapter a day. should also add here that i do not mind spam. everything is appreciated :,)
ASTRAL ODDITIES all of my banners/dividers are made with photoshop. the thing is, i'm too stubborn to watch tutorials so i figure everything out on my own. because of that, i'm pretty positive the way i do stuff is way overly complicated, so that's why i don't post tutorials. but if you're really curious just ask! (i did not pay for photoshop) not that there would be any political discourse in my blog, but if you are a maga supporter, genocide supporter, against women's rights and all that stuff, i will happily block you. i would describe myself as democratic socialist, take that as you will and keep your shitty political opinions to yourself.
