Cynder's curse broken

I always interpreted Cynder as being literally mind-controlled by Malefor, that what Gaul did to her was making her into a vessel of sorts for him to use to break out of his prison. In this piece, her manacles and collar were anchoring the spell, and broke when Spyro freed her.

sometimes I get really nice compliments on my art that leave me conflicted. Not because of the comment but because of the art it was left on.

I've spent a lot of time over the last few years really honing my line art and anatomy, so you'd think this would be a one and done I love this comment and am so grateful for it. right? it's a thoughtful description of how this drawing made this person feel. it's a really simple comment to feel good about. but it's not That simple.

Finally got around to doodling him again, i think i got down the shape of his headpiece(at least from the front the fucking thing), i tried to get that feline vibe with the poses but they tend to come off a bit to feminine for my taste (as you can see on the left where i scribbled) for sphinx, so yeah

So sorry this took so long to respond!!

EHEHEHE I LOVE BEASTS- i love all creatures and monsters, though I think my favorites (from mythology) would be dragons, sphinxes and any kinds of merfolk!! As well as reptilian monsters and chimeras!! My favs from folklore would be Thunderbirds and Uktenas (both from Native American folklore)!!!

Makin a concept of what Spirit Tracks Link could be if he was in Linked Universe

(drawn on my phone so he's a bit rough)

The Hero of Spirits, Loco, Engie or Steam

As an engineer and a mechanic he has the shortest hair of all the Links, to avoid it getting caught in machinery. He likes keeping his whirlwind close, because it's useful for stoking his engine. He also wears his snake whip around his neck, because it's useful for grabbing things at a distance and pulling levers and such, and because it's stylish.

He gets steel toed boots because workplace safety is Important, everyone needs to wear their PPE. He is incensed by the lack of handrails in dungeons. He's generally cheerful, but is a perfectionist when it comes to his projects. This Link is good at math!

He has the compass of light on his glove. In Spirit Tracks, this item locates and opens the portal to the realm where you fight the demon train. Thus I think it'd be interesting if in a LU scenario it could locate the dimension portals. Or perhaps make other kinds of portals? Still thinking about that.

He gets to keep the lokomo sword

literally just tracing the old screenshot (with some adjustments) but this time I'm sticking to outlined bc lineless is just rly hard (I'm stuck in no real art style limbo) and this is too uhhhh what's the word. ambitious! yeah. way too ambitious. it was supposed to be a lineless experiment where I was ALSO trying to work out how to shade/colour with overlay or smth. but it was.... not going how I hoped.

I did kinda like how it was looking the last time I worked on it. I got quite a bit further than the screenshot I took. I did some experimental shading, had the other wing mostly coloured in and the tail blended. I think I even had some of the face defined somehow,,, I ALSO redid the feet like 5 times over bc I didn't like the way they were looking. but I lost the progress and only have the screenshot with the sketch layer turned on. so. trying to turn it into a positive, at least I can fix anything that was bugging me but I got too far to change c:

(there's also another screenshot, that I forgot to turn back on for the progress shot, of an even earlier face sketch that I liked better but it wasn't flipped and fixed so that's why it's a little wonky and needs fixing)
