Backstory

Is it a blessing or a curse to be all-consumed? Persistence is a godly virtue, but obsession- that is something different altogether. Stag was born to a close-knit family of six in Boston. The second-born son, but the de-facto eldest, Stag was charged with protecting his siblings at any and all costs- a job he has not shied away from, even as he has grown. He excelled academically- or he would have, if he was not forced to work multiple jobs in order to help keep his family afloat. For a moment he resented his situation, cried out at God, demanding an answer for his suffering- but the sound that echoed on the empty walls of bunk-bed were answer enough. No one was listening, no one was responsible for their pain. He resolved to be his family's salvation. Stag worked odd jobs in his youth, and one ill-fated job as a fisherman brought him to Red Creek in September of 1999- just in time to bear witness to the town's unraveling. He often wonders if anyone even remembers him, since he spent so much time holed up in his ramshackle apartment, only emerging for work and groceries. He stayed for the duration of his contract, and not a day longer. His situation changed in 2009, after a odd-job in New York City turned into a permanent job, which turned into a world of open doors and enough money to keep his family comfortable for the foreseeable future. Stag continued to rise in society, and he cultivated a sterling reputation, a weighty bank account, and a stock portfolio that granted him the ability to retire whenever he felt like it. He'd done his job- his family was well cared for, he was stable and financially comfortable, he had everything he could ask for, and he had done it all himself. Instead of retiring to a mansion in the Hamptons, Stag bought a nightclub in a remote town in the Upper Peninsula, and he returned to the town that had haunted him for over twenty years. He was right when he wondered if anyone remembered him- though he was a far cry from the scrawny, awkward, unfortunate 19-year-old that had arrived so many years ago. He was soft-spoken and unassuming, but he carried himself with an air of authority, and he went out of his way to be kind and helpful to the town. He poured money into the town, straight from his personal fortune, and has generally been accepted with open arms. Despite his status as a newcomer, he was elected onto the town council within his first year, and truly enjoys the work he does. He's often found walking along the lakeside, or going on morning runs in the forest. He hates cooking, so he dines at Lakeside Grill and Dolly's quite often. He is often at the Warehouse, but rarely to indulge- he has a small office there, and he keeps a close eye on the operations, always engaging with patrons and sometimes stepping in as a bartender when absolutely necessary.

Wanted Connections

Friends, of course. People he trusts, and people he doesn't trust- all are welcome. People who are using him for his money or stock tips, people who couldn't care less and just... genuinely like him. Waiters at the Grill or the Diner, frequent patrons at the Warehouse that he has started hanging out with outside of the club. People who go on runs with him. Enemies. People that don't trust him or his intentions. Someone who thinks he's rich and snobby. Someone who wanted to buy the Warehouse, but he outbid them. Someone who remembers. It's possible they were casual friends when he briefly lived in Red Creek, or maybe they were strangers! Maybe they found an old picture in their attic, and he was in the background. Either way, he is not a stranger to this person, and they are watching him closely. A romance. I want something intense and complicated for him. I think he has a difficult time accepting love and refuses to let himself be known, but this person is like a siren song to him, and there is no denying that there is a pull there. Added to the fact that he's put off having a family of his own despite desperately wanting one, and there's the possibility for something very spicy and exciting. No gender preference! Neighbor? Stag lives in a large former vacation home along the lakeshore, which he chose for the beauty and the quiet and the luxury of it all, but also the isolation. I think it could be fun if there was someone else living in the row of empty houses, and maybe they are besties or maybe they have beef because he occasionally has loud parties into the early morning after the Warehouse closes. Friends from New York. It would be fun if he had some old relationships that he didn't know were from Red Creek. He has never told anyone about his connection to Red Creek, so him showing up and knowing his way around town would've been quite a shock. Informants. Stag likes to have an idea of what's going on in town, and when. He wants to know the gossip, know who hates who and who's sleeping with who and who has something to hide. He likes to be prepared, to anticipate things before they happen, to feel like he has control of the situation at all times. This connection could be unintentional (they just like to gossip/yap and he happily listens), or intentional (they bring him info in exchange for something). heavily inspired by varys in game of thrones!!!!

✦ Physical description of Warlock:

Warlock is 6’4 with a lithe and lean physique, with toned arms and shoulders, slim waist and thighs and a generally lanky frame.

His hair is jet black and very curly, and is cut to shoulder length, usually tied back when fighting.

Warlock has fairly androgynous features, a sharp jaw, tired eyes, roman nose, sickly and pasty skin and bright violet eyes. He has some slightly unkempt stubble on his chin, and deep set eye bags. He also wears half moon glasses, and on occasion red tinted round shades.

His usual attire is a dark red velvet button up shirt with bell sleeves, a black leather corset, black flared jeans with a book holster on one thigh, heeled ankle boots and white satin gloves. He also wears a pocket watch necklace that has an octopus engraved onto it.

I took inspiration from the cult of the lamb, midsommar and pagan / nordic culture. I apologise if i get anything incorrect, or offend anyone with any posts. Mod is not from these cultures, and does not wish to portray them negatively or offensively.

I would like to keep this blog to be strictly 16+ with little NSFW. I have pretty bad anxiety, and receiving incredibly suggestive asks will most likely make that spike, and I don’t want to stress over my blog, this is for fun! Feel free to flirt and whatnot with Cultist, but anything i deem too far will get deleted or blocked based on severity.

✦ Physical description of Cultist:

Cultist is 5’3, and has a lithe and lanky physique, being fairly slim and agile

His hair is a blondish white colour, and is incredibly coily and messy, with small braids and rat tails amongst the curls.

Cultists face is usually hidden by his mask, but is quite pale in complexion, with wide dark green eyes and a soft and young looking face. On his cheeks and forehead are nordic runes carved into his skin(specifically eihwaz, Jera and sowilo). The rest of his body is covered in more runes and sigils, scarred into his skin in a similar fashion.

His usual attire is a cream linen button up shirt and beige trousers. He also wears a sheeps wool poncho, with horns attached to the hood, and different animal pelts - most being white, beige or cream in colour. He wears knee high brown boots with wolf pelt leg wraps around them. Cultist adorns himself with jewellery made of rocks, bones and bells, mostly worn around his neck, wrists and waist.

I took inspiration for Kerosene from Pyro(tf2). if they come off as being too similar it is coincidental, I’m trying to differentiate them, and make sure Kerosene is his own character!

✦ Physical description of Kerosene:

Kerosene is 5’5, slightly chubby with some muscle. He’s got strong shoulders and arms, but a soft stomach and large bust.

His hair jet black, with a scruffy and badly cut buzzcut, presumably done by himself.

His entire body is [REDACTED] and is the reason they wear his gas mask. Kerosene has a few tattoos on his shoulder blades and the back of his neck.

Kerosene wears a gas mask 24/7 and refuses to remove it around teammates. His usual attire is a slightly dirty tank top, dark red boiler suit, tan work boots, welding gloves and an oxygen and gasoline tanks on their back. He occasionally will wear a holster containing a blowtorch on their thigh.

His face is round and squishy, with a button nose and soft jaw, wide and curious looking amber eyes. (Apparently) Their eyebrows and eyelashes have been burned off completely.

✦Moray’s physical description!

Moray is a 7’4 humanoid creature covered in murky yellow scales, with black spots across his body, most common on his calves, shoulders and back. He’s thin and lithe, not that strong looking, with a lean body type, being more bottom heavy with muscular legs and thighs.

He has webbed fingers and toes, spined fins on his forearms, calfs, back and tail, gills on his neck and a second set on his sides, a large tail that resembles the bottom half of an eel, a snout similar to one of an electric eel, needle like, uneven and thin teeth and finlike ears that have some piercings through the webbing.

His hair is long and black, matted and messy from lack of care, sloppily shaved at one side. His eyes are tired and bored looking, with slit pupils. He has a perpetual pissed off expression on his face. His features are more rounded, nose and mouth turned into a snout, eyes angular and judgmental looking. He has a few piercings, septum, eyebrows and snake bites.

Moray wears a dirty and distressed tank top, a murky beige colour from not being able to clean it, dark brown cargo shorts with a multitude of belts and pouches attached to his hips and thighs and bandages around his hands and feet. He is completely barefoot.

Moray speaks with a heavy Slavic accent, and often speaks Russian, with no recollection to why he knows the language. His voice is gritty and androgynous, always sounding like he’s angry or irritated.
