M2 diaries 12/100: Second and last day of forensic medicine went smoothly. Snack was delicious. I am so falling behind on my M2 Ankis, but with the semester finals going on, I simply don’t find the time for it.

Cooked up my bio paper! Now it’s time to get my communications paper done with (I’m never taking another cmns class again) and then it’s time for finals flashcards + psych final project. AHHHHH I also have a final project for cmns which is worth so much and for what reason? Also where is my money and why am I broke???? (I’ve been buying expensive coffees every day)

PhD Day 17: last night I sent a *risky text* (I was a bit delayed finishing an assignment for my grant proposal and had to admit I'm a bit lost when it comes to sourcing materials) and my supervisor had already replied this morning. One thing I definitely have to learn is to ask for help when I'm unable to figure shit out on my own.

Anyways today I'm going on a trip (when I scheduled it I had no clue that October would be such a busy month) and I'm going to have to pull loonnng nights if I want to meet my deadline

very tiring day today, i regret not taking an afternoon nap. but quite productive! i came back from my 8:30 pm lab to find the power out which was quite fun. gone were my plans of crashing right on my bed and i proceeded to drag myself to the library. it is now 10:30 pm and apparently the power is back so i'll crawl up the hill back home once i finish up my chemistry notes!

research: halfway through editing my article. only one body paragraph left to rewrite.

academic: did calculus until my brain exploded. physics was very fun and the fire alarm fortunately did not go off this time. my ta for my 2 hour long calculus tutorial is not so endearingly clueless so needless to say i will not be attending calculus tutorials anymore.

self care: actually didn't do too much today and i am very very tired. but i am in surprisingly good spirits considering everything that has happened today! i really like this "library": it is actually the basement of our math building, nicknamed "the dungeon", but i love the atmosphere. photo attached below!

Day 21/100

Each time there's a bit of downtime at my day job, I use it to read, take notes, and update my thesis. I know research says multitasking between 'cognitively demanding tasks' isn't ideal, but doing it after work often ends up with me making even fewer progress (if at all). Still, will I be able to finish this paper in less than a month? Yes. I. Will. Yes. I. Can.

On another note, I decided to read one short story per day to reacquaint myself with fiction after spending too much time with articles and their clinical language. Today's story is The Wrong Seminar by Scott Monson.
