You ever think about how wild of a time Hades is having in SOH? This man learns his wife went and made him a sword, she then proceeded to lose the sword, she kidnapped his son and his nephew and his niece, his nephew almost died on this quest and Hades can almost hear Poseidon yelling about this, this kid somehow memory wiped a Titan but all three of the kids are suspiciously silent about just how he managed to pull this off and also they won’t explain how they crossed the Lethe because Hades knows the geography of his domain and he knows from their description that they would’ve had to cross it at some point but somehow all three turn deaf when asked, and this memory-wiped Titan who thinks his name is Bob and who Hades can distinctly recall trying to murder him and his siblings on behalf of their father who ate them is now Hades’s problem. Before Hades can say so much as a syllable about how actually, if you memory wipe the Titan then the Titan is your problem, all three leave. This all happens within like 5 minutes.

Hades is the embodiment of the mental math meme. This guy had three powerhouses of kids (one of which is his!) show up, drop all this on him, then just dip before he can really give his stance on it all- and to top it all off he's pretty sure his son stole money to buy burgers.

He's having a difficult five minutes for sure.

when you rlly sit down n think abt it, the little 3 (nico, jason, percy) are terrifying.

percy, in canon, almost choked a goddess to death with her own poison. he can manipulate blood, heal himself at will, manipulate any mass of water no matter how small. he could turn anyone into a raisin at the flick of a finger

jason, technically, could do some wicked shit to your nerves with his electrokinesis. pain, nerve damage, nerve death. there's also his aerokinesis, where he could theoretically drag oxygen away from the lungs and blood by force, or on the contrary, make one hyperoxic... and, as far as i know, air pressure could make one implode (if he really wanted to).

then, there's nico, which isn't really talked about on this aspect of their powers and i feel like thats sad. he can manipulate bones and souls. do you know how insane that is? he could shatter every bone in one's body and you wouldn't notice until you moved just the wrong way. if i'm pushing it, he could make your own shadow swallow you whole. then there's the whole geokinesis thing and metals-- your blood has iron in it. make of that what you will

these boys are scary as shit and the world is lucky none of them switched sides...

persephone's line in tsoh still makes me queasy jkfghfh ("who could withstand your combined power?" indeed..)

Ethan being in the army meant he couldn't leave to see his dad, he couldn't disappoint his mother after all. Kronos gives him a mission to retrieve the sword of Hades. When he enters the underworld he sees the shade of his father.

Ethan had to be quick, and it was proving real hard to do so with a literal Titan on his heels and a sword huge enough of a fit for the god of the dead.

He knew what he had to do: get the sword, get the keys, raise Iapetus like he raised Kronos and get out. Any way possible.

And well, they did receive reports about Melinoe being sympathetic to their cause.

He lingered on the entrance to the cave, leaning on the sword, before regulating his breathing and taking steps inside.

Half obscured in a fog, a figure stepped forward, causing his breath to hitch.

"Ethan."

And oh gods- oh Titans– Ethan was not supposed to have things, or people, distracting him from their cause.

Despite this, his voice stuttered as he called out, a wet droplet falling down his cheek. "D-dad?"

The man stood in midst of the fog, silver threads standing out on his dark hair, stress lines carved to his face and encircling his always warm eyes. He dusted his hands off on his apron; smiling like he wasn't the one dead.

Like this was Ethan's funeral and his dad was the one in mourning. "Hello, son. A bit early for you here, don't you think?"
