omg, Dev needs his godparent to stand up for him against Vicky and Peri's having a MELTDOWN and hiding behind his mom. Um??? Holy cow, I've never seen him break like this, except maybe when he gained his fear of the dark in "Lights Out."

I decided to go check if I was right and... Hm.

Reading TGCF: Chapter Eleven

For those who don't know, I am reading TGCF for the first time and sharing my thoughts!

If you have not read it, there will be spoilers! Consider this a warning.

Also- if you want to follow along, I am aiming to post updates daily. You can find all the posts in the tag Bloopitynoot reads TGCF. You can also check out the intro post for context on my read BUT if you followed along with my SVSSS read, the rules and vibe are the same.

In other news, in celebration of finishing book one I have purchased book 3! It should get here Friday, and I can't wait. Shout out to my manager for fueling my habits with the indigo gift card she gave me for Christmas.

If Hua Cheng and Xie Lian both picked their fake names from the same poem, I hereby declare them soulmates. No take backs, it's done. p360

You know what, if all else fails, Xie Lian would make an excellent motivational speaker. "I want to save the common people" "Do what you think is right" "Nothing can block your way" The cutest little "hang in there" cat poster embodied. p361

Oh no, my emotions. Hua Cheng about his true face, "I'll let you see it someday, if there's a chance" p364

"those were good words" poor baby flustered xie lian. He cannot handle a single sincere compliment from Hua Cheng. The pillow talk in this chapter is so dang cute! p367

Here I am reading these words and lowkey hoping that it was Hua Cheng who Xie Lian told to "live for him". My biggest question at this point in the series is why/when/how did Huan Cheng become so into Xie Lian. It feels like he's known this guy for a very long time. p368 (do not actually tell me this. it'll probably be revealed later, but with Xie Lian, unreliable narrator, I feel like it'll be right before the extras LOL).

BRO LEFT HIM. WITH A PROMISE THEY WOULD MEET SINCERELY AGAIN. AND LEFT HIM A RING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG this is so precious, TOO MUCH. p372

I totally thought the end of this chapter would ruin me

I was NOT wrong, but it was in a very unexpected way! I expected tragedy and I got the cutest fucking pillow talk, a PROMISE and a RING. WHAT.

if i had a penny for everytime you wrote something mentioning hazel and ice cream id have two, which isnt alot but its werid it happened twice :P

what do you think her favorite flavor would be? im thinking caramel or cherry... i imagine mint chocolate would be too strong of a flavor for her to enjoy

An interesting fact for sure, guess I find she deserves some ice-cream. Be it with her dad or with her friends. She's so sweet, so she deserves something sweet in turn ᵔᵜᵔ Just like you!

I can imagine she'd like caramel or cherry, fruity sounds pretty fitting for her

As for mint, maybe, but I also the idea of mint, I do think some kind of green ice-cream would fit her, maybe choc mint?

Or maybe that would be too strong indeed

Oh! Or maybe it would be something more healthy like? She doesn't seem to be one who seems overtly interested in sweets, so that doesn't feel to far out.

Maybe Pistachio or Spruce Tip Ice Cream?

A bit odd, but I do think it fits some, she's not like the average kid

Though… if there was some kind of French fry ice cream I'm sure she would want a taste of that, which makes me wonder if she would like ice-cream that was a bit more salty?

Maybe she'd like salted caramel? Or salty licorice? Would she even like licorice at all?

I can also imagine her eating vanilla ice cream or just some soft ice cream with French fries. Could that maybe be her favorite desert?

I think it would be cute if it was that, what do you think?

Fun Fact - Pramby snack is on Dev's snack table at his birthday, so it might be lactose-free. Also, Dev's probably been to Patty Possum's Party Playground enough times to taste it and like it.
