Around the Universe in Eighty Days

It had been two months and two weeks by the time that P.A.X. had grown close to completing their mission. The Pioneers of Astronomical Xenobiology had seen the best and the worst that the universe had to offer and had managed to visit and map out forty-seven of its calculated forty-eight sectors. Now, as it all came to a close, they had one final destination: Sector Omega Minor.

They scanned the sector and found the principal star system, which had nine orbital masses around a star and its leaders located on the one known as Asdin. As they landed, they discovered its leader - an old lord by the name of Baldr who ruled over his people, which he recognized as the Bosconians. Lord Baldr, ever the understanding and gracious host, allowed them entry to his kingdom - the star system named after its star,Yggdrasil - to survey their microcosm, with all its faults and virtues.

As the P.A.X. split up into their respective searches, they each took two planets and recorded what they observed, leaving Asdin to be the last planet.

016 surveyed Alfhermóðr and Vanafrejig to learn about the Valkyrie.

032 surveyed Niðasvartálfa and studied the Dwarfish Niðavel that inhabited it, as well as surveying Mupeltyr and studying the Infernal Tyrsai inhabitants.

064 surveyed Niflheim and Jotunheim to learn about the Jotun and the Burinar, learning very little besides their routine, which involved the creation and maintenance of pillars of ice. 

128 surveyed Midjord and Hel, its technology and the people servicing it.

As they all finished their observations, they reconvened, as agreed, on Adin to personally interview Lord Baldr as their final task before fulfilling their ultimate task.

“What would you gentlemen wish to know about my empire?” he asked.

“We simply need to know what is the general lifestyle that you and your people hold here in this star system,” 128 answered.

“That would include your technologies and lifestyles,” 064 added.

“I see. Well, I suppose that that can be arranged.”

Baldr gave the team a walk-around the Asdinian library - a building of physical recordings that held not only material to read, but to observe. Weaponry, clothing, and technologies that had since become defunct but served as reminders of its roots and how they affected the modern era in which they found themselves.

Through this, they learned that the Bosconian empire was one of commerce, their main export being physically enhanced soldiers who were created throughout the star system. On Alfhermóðr and Vanafrejig, they obtained and processed the essences of the fallen warriors across the universe. The Dwarfish Niðavel of Niðasvartálfa and the Infernal Tyrsai of Mupeltyr served as the inspiration for what would ultimately become the enhanced warriors. The natives of Midjord and Hel served as a control group to which the enhanced warriors were compared to, resulting in each soldier having the stamina and strength of roughly ten Midgardian civilians and 20 Helish civilians. When 064 questioned the records of the Jotun and the Burinar, Lord Baldr calmly explained; “While there is no strife with Jotun, they are not the most open of those of us here in Yggdrasil. As for the Burinar, those have been here since my grandfather had been but a small child, so little is truly known about them or their habits.”

At last, they had arrived at the final place of their mission: the revivification chamber.

“Here,” Baldr said, “is where the final neurological programs are made. Whatever residual impulses and aggressions that lead to an inefficient soldier are neutralized.”

“And what are they used for?” 064 asked.

“They are used for defense and maintenance of order throughout Yggdrasil. The remaining few that are surplus are contracted to be soldiers for the neighboring stars.”

“I see.” 128 observed the machine that was promised to be the revivification machine. It stood as tall as the building in which it found itself. There were three dark bars that came up from the floor, and extended into five bars of light as it reached the ceiling. Each bar of light seemed to have a different color, with different types of texture.

This could be the final piece to the salvation of Creator’s people, 016 thought.

That is true, 128 thought in response, though we would have to be careful not to repeat what he created. He turned to Baldr. “Would we be allowed to connect to the machine to see how it functions?”

“Be my guest,” he answered.

The four members of P.A.X. circled the machine and placed their hands atop the console. At once, they saw the machinery in its basest components and how each one worked with one another to create life from the death of another. At that exact moment, an Yggdrailsk flare struck the machine. On any other given moment, it would have been dealt with with no fanfare and no issue. However, given P.A.X. was in the coding meant that their own code was exposed and vulnerable, and while 064 and 128 were left unharmed, 016 was unfortunately left vaporized and 032 had their inhibitor chip fried.

“032!” 128 yelled. They unplugged themself from the machine and headed over to their compatriot. However, there was something that they had noted about them. The clear of their eyes had filled with a thick black liquid, and the color had all but vanished, morphing into a dark red.

“032, respond,” 128 demanded. 032 did not respond. They instead stepped back, and sauntered over to Lord Baldr.

“Lord Baldr,” the android spoke, with a newfound demeanor, “I understand that this style of machinery inhibits the soldiers’ impulses?”

“Y-yes, it does-” was all that was heard, before his moment was cut short. The silence that followed was filled with a wet, crunching sound. 064 and 128 only watched as 032, their compatriot, had killed Lord Baldr.

“032, respond,” 128 demanded, though weaker than their first attempt.

032 did not respond. 032 did not even look their way as he re-inserted themself into the revivification machine. There was a shift that could be heard, and at this point, the android, maddened by their damaged programming, had released the the prototypical soldiers and the soldiers not yet inoculated and thus retained their abrasive, impulsive, and aggressive behaviors. As they wreaked havoc upon their places of creation, the android looked around. They saw that they had been left alone, as 064 and 128 had left in search of help.

Perfect, he thought, as he ripped off the numbers that had once identified him, though little of them remained. No one here to stand in my way, and not a soul to defy my conquest.

With that, 032 the android was no more; he had become P.A.X., Conquest incarnate. However, those of whom had survived the terror would forever know him as Pax, Destroyer of Worlds, telegraphing the message out into the universe in hopes of salvation.

you swung open the starbucks door, accidentally having pushed it so hard that it hit the trash can on the side.

the sound of the door hitting the trash can. it was like Kevin's custom ringtone for your arrival. as soon as he heard it, he knew he'd look up and find you bounding towards him asking for--

"heyo Kevo can i get my usual order!" you said with a grin, leaning against the front counter.

he sighed and shook his head.

"coming right up," he said, purposely sounding like he was annoyingly groaning at you. really, he was trying to hide his smile as he pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. it had been so slow at work and he couldn't be happier to see you. his heart raced and he was sweating slightly. he couldn't look at you for too long, as though you were too bright like the sun.

meanwhile, you watched his hands carefully steam the milk and put the rest of your drink together. the way he was so relaxed while doing a task (that you would probably mess up so fast because you had no clue how to do it) made you want to just... kiss him. well... as normal friends do, right?

before you knew it, your drink was ready.

"thanks, Kev," you said, taking a sip right away.

"you gotta stop calling me abbreviations of Kevin, y/n," he said with a grin. secretly, he loved it. he loved when you called his name, no matter which version of it it was.

"you gotta stop being such a loser," you threw back, watching him scoff.

"says you!"

you dodged your head as he threw a plastic cup lid at you. then, he left the counter completely, chasing after you and leaving the few customers in there watching the two of you in awe.

"come back! you can't get away with butchering my name!" he yelled.

in that moment, Kevin's manager walked out the back.

"Kevin, can you save your play-fighting for later? at least try to act professional," Younghoon said, trying to hide his laughter.

he found the way Kevin brightened and loosened up when you walked in so endearing.

"hey, y/n!" he said to you.

"oh, hi Younghoon! i'm sorry but Kevin started it," you explained, earning you a light push from Kevin.

"i believe you. we should hire you instead of him," Younghoon joked.

Kevin went back around the counter, wiping down one of the machines while he listened to you.

"your shift ends at 6, right? do you wanna have a movie night together?" you asked.

"at your place, with all the others?" he asked, somewhat sadly.

you hesitated before replying, "no, just us."

Kevin's ears perked up as he heard the last two words. of course, he adored your little friend group. Haknyeon, Sunwoo, Chanhee, yourself, and Kevin were the most fun group to be around. yet, lately he had found himself wanting to just be alone with you. he wanted to give you all his attention, to just listen to you talk about anything.

"let's do it. i'll bring us back some good drinks from here!" Kevin said with a grin, adjusting the glasses on his face.

Younghoon smirked in the back, overhearing the conversation. finally, Kevin is making progress, he thought.

three knocks on the door and you opened to find a smiley Kevin, clad in sweats and holding some starbucks drinks. he looked like a walking teddy bear, and you felt flustered just looking at him standing there, smiling prettily at you.

"i brought some for Hak, Sunwoo, and Chanhee, too," Kevin explained, setting the drinks down.

"you know they'll be mad if they find out you dropped by without bringing them anything," you agreed.

and speak of the devil: another three knocks at your door revealed Haknyeon, leaning against the door frame.

"heyyy y/n. do you have any eggs? i'm trying to bake and i realized i don't have any," your friend asked.

"yeah, they're in the fridge," you told him, inviting him in.

"oooo, is that starbucks? wait.. is that my favourite drink? don't tell me that's for me?" Haknyeon assumed, getting excited.

"it is indeed yours, only if you deliver the other two drinks to Sunwoo and Chanhee."

"okay, bet!! did Kevin drop by or something?" Haknyeon asked, pulling the eggs out of your fridge.

"i'm right here?!" said Kevin from your couch at the end of the apartment.

"oh.. Kevin?! you've been here this whole time? why are you so quiet?" Haknyeon laughed. "and what are you two doing without me?" he aggressively whispered.

"fighting off pirates. we're just hanging out! now leave us alone," you whined, pushing Haknyeon out of your place with the rest of the drinks.

with a sigh, you turned to Kevin after closing the door.

"they're not even friends at this point. they're nosy neighbours. gosh, let me watch a movie with my friend in peace!" you huffed, grabbing some snacks from the kitchen.

Kevin's heart ached a little hearing the word 'friend', but he hoped he was just overreacting. he hoped that you felt as happy in his presence as he did in yours, and he hoped you knew how special you were to him: so special that he had been dying to see a movie with you, alone.

"okay... what movie are we thinking?" you asked, snapping Kevin out of his thoughts.

"anything!" he blurted out, laying back on the couch.

he watched you with a smile as you found a movie to play. the whole time, Kevin was just staring at you. you sat in front of him on the floor, being in the mood to stay away from the couch. he was laying on the couch, his head just next to yours. he had the perfect view of your gorgeous side profile, and he traced it over and over again with his eyes. he adored the way your expression changed as you watched the movie. if the characters were sad, you pouted. if they were happy, you smiled.

one of the characters in the movie had picked up a dandelion. you turned to ask Kevin what he would wish for if he found a dandelion.

"but it wouldn't come true..." he said with a pout.

"let's say it would!" you said.

"then... i'd wish.. for you to be mine," he said, quietly.

your ears perked up. had Kevin said what you thought he did?

"wait... say that again," you said, turning around on the floor and facing him.

"i'd wish for you to be mine, y/n. i... like you," he said.

you couldn't stop the smile from spreading across your face. all you could think to do was pull Kevin's face towards yours as you pressed a kiss to the tip of his nose. you watched him slowly turn a shade of pink as he smiled back at you.

"why the hell did it take you so long to tell me that?" you complained.

"i didn't.. think you would... like me back, i--what just happened?" Kevin mumbled, still in a dazed smile.

"i like you too, Kevin."

"i didn't want to ruin our friendship--"

this time, you pressed your lips against Kevin's, silencing his worries and filling his stomach with butterflies. you felt them within you, too. your entire body felt warm as you pulled away and stared into Kevin's warm eyes.

"shut up. we've ruined the friendship. and now we're dating. accept it," you said, ruffling his hair.

now, Kevin felt like he was a dandelion, floating in the wind. he was so happy he was here watching a movie with you. he was so happy he confessed. and he was so happy the wish he made on a dandelion came true.

060. What is your character’s attitude toward education and learning?

Formal education? Big Dislike. He’s an out-of-the-box thinker and doesn’t do well in structured lessons and exams - his self-esteem takes a knock, he acts out because of that, is punished, acts out because of that and the cycle begins again. No, he doesn’t like formal education. He’s a Trouble Kid. Also, I can imagine a lot of the lessons not being challenging enough for him; he gets bored and that’s dangerous. The last thing you want in your classroom is a bored Raimundo. Also, sitting for a long time listening to someone talk, not being able to be active? That frustrates him. Not to mention his issue with authority. 

But honestly, whether he’ll admit it or not, depending on the topic, he LOVES to learn. He studies the scrolls, studies wind, knows more about Showdowns than any other monk and all because he chose to learn about it. He likes being intelligent, especially because everyone always assumes that he isn’t and he lives for the looks on their faces when he surprises everyone and proves them wrong.

061. Does your character prefer adventure or safety and security?

ADVENTURE!!! Safety and security definitely has it’s place, and he craves a bit of calm every so often. But honestly, he’s highly energetic and motivated and prone to boredom very easily. He’s always gotta be kept busy - all his hobbies are very active, whether physically or mentally, so if he’s not being challenged enough by training or showdowns or saving the world, he’ll sink himself into those instead. 

062. What sort of legacy does your character wish to leave behind?

063. How well does your character handle difficult people?

He’s… not great. It’s something he definitely needs to work on, especially now he’s a leader. If they’re being unintentionally difficult and are just awkward or something like that, he stays pretty polite, particularly if they’re an older stranger (see: the old lady in Bird of Paradise, who was being exceptionally awkward and annoying without realising it - he was unfailingly polite and kind to her). However, if they’re being difficult on purpose? He’ll know. And he won’t like it. He gets snappier, more sarcastic - there’ll be eye rolls, sighs, raised eyebrows, folded arms. He’s more likely to be outwardly impatient and possibly even straight up rude. 

064. In what ways does your character annoy others?

Answered here. tl;dr EVERY way

065. Is your character better at leading or following? Which do they prefer?

He is better and more comfortable in a leadership role. He’s very aware of his team mates, their strengths, weaknesses and relationships. He’s excellent at boosting morale and does it consistently throughout the latter half of XS. He’s good at co-ordinating. He’s a master tactician, out of the box thinker, and hates feeling like he’s being bossed around. HATES it. Also, because of the way his mind works, he often has very different opinions about how a situation should be handled and it really bothers him when he’s forced to comply with someone else’s opinions. He’s also kind of lousy at following - he’ll regularly argue and disobey and nothing is really gonna stop him doing that.

066. Does your character prefer city life or being out in nature?

I’d say he prefers city life! He loves the buzz, the thrum, the energy - it’s familiar to him, but not in a stale way. It’s never quite the same. It’s not that he dislikes nature; he definitely wasn’t big on it before, but being out in it so often when Wu-hunting or just chilling around the temple, he’s come to appreciate it a little more. And he’s coming to realise that nature can be just as exciting as a city if you know where to look.

067. Does your character believe in fate or destiny?

He didn’t before coming to the temple, and even for a couple of years after. It’s not until the events of season 3 when he starts his leadership arc that we see him start really believing more in himself, his purpose and the role he plays in the team. I imagine it’s hard to be a literal ‘Chosen One’ and still maintain a sceptical outlook on destiny. 

068. How strong is your character’s sense of responsibility? What kinds of things trigger it?

Hmmm. Okay that’s kind of a tricky one. It depends where he’s at in his journey and what specific kinda responsibility we’re talking about. We’ve seen him step up to the plate and shoulder responsibility (even before becoming Shoku warrior, he assumed a leadership role in various episodes, particularly if Omi wasn’t around). So real responsibility, like leading the team? He’s got a strong sense of responsibility there. We see that it’s usually triggered by necessity - it’s just a natural role he slips into when the team needs guidance. As for smaller responsibilities, like chores? He’ll always try and shirk those. He’s got better things to do than dust and wash dishes. No sense of responsibility for chores.

069. What about your character is heroic?

Hoo okay. This boy? He will put himself in danger for absolutely anyone. Doesn’t matter if he knows you or not. He’ll throw himself in harms way if it means he’s got a shot at saving you, regardless of how it impacts him (see: Bird of Paradise and a million other eps). He’ll also take extreme measures with very little hesitation if he feels like it’s necessary - he was genuinely about to drink the Lao Mang Lone soup in order to give the others a chance to escape in Time After Time II. 

It comes from his hero complex but also the fact that he feels a little inferior, maybe? After being constantly told he’s not good enough, isn’t up to the task etc… he might as well risk his life for other people’s, right? Because they’re more important to him than he is. 

I’ve also noticed something recently - when Rai has had enough and calls someone powerful out on their shit, it’s always to help someone else. When did Rai decide enough was enough and open to puzzle box to trap Wuya? When she was about to crush the others. When did he finally stand up to Guan and quit? When Guan started punishing the others for stuff they didn’t do. He’s heroic about when he draws the line - generally, he’ll endure whatever, but put a stop to things when they start affecting his friends. 

070. What about your character is cowardly?

He can be a coward about feelings. He’ll avoid talking about them, acknowledging them, heck, he’ll even try to not feel them. They’re confusing and they can hurt and there’s nothing he can do about them a lot of the time and he hates it. Yeah, he’s definitely cowardly about his feelings. 

I don’t know if I’d strictly label it as cowardice, but I guess you could also say how he responds to failure. He’s insecure. If he’s failed badly enough, he’s likely to completely bail (usually temporarily, but still). For example, I hc that a big part of the reason he left the temple is that he was scared he was gonna be kicked out and so he left before they had a chance to. It’s kind of a pride thing. Also, sometimes he’ll avoid trying in the first place if he’s scared he’ll fail. Because, hey, if you don’t try, you can’t fail, right???

he’s okay with both but if he really had to chose, he would go with the city life.

trick question, he’s supposed to have a huge sense of responsibility and act on it without hesitation but he hates it so he often tries to defy that feeling. it’s a constant struggle for him and he will usually act on it when is about helping someone that really needs someone like him in their life.

probably that little bit of grace that’s still left in him. for how long will it last? who knows.

the way he deals with having become a disappointment to his almighty father, even though it was his father’s fault, which is by completely running away from him and the responsibilities/tasks given to him.

Kekuatan Satuan Armada Laut Hitam Rusia memiliki wilayah tanggung jawab meliputi Laut Azov dan Laut Mediterania. Keberadaannya sudah sejak jaman sejarah Pangeran Potemkin di tahun 1783. Setelah runtuhnya Uni Soviet, wilayah laut tersebut menjadi territorial Rusia dan Ukraina. Sejak wilayah Crimea kembali ke Rusia, Pangkalan Utama Armada Laut Hitam ditetapkan di Sevastopol, Crimea, sementara pangkalan pendukung Armada Laut Rusia lainnya berada disekitaran Laut Hitam dan Laut Azov, termasuk Krasnodar Krai, Rostov Oblast, dan Crimea. Menurut informasi dari pihak Inggris, Armada Laut Hitam Rusia berkekuatan sekitar 20 kapal perang, termasuk kapal selam.

Kapal Penjelajah dari Kelas Slava ini berbobot 12.000 ton, merupakan “Kapal Bendera” bagi Armada Laut Hitam. Berdinas di Angkatan Laut Rusia cukup lama, sejak tahun 1983. Persenjataan pada kapal kelas Moskva ini antara lain berupa 16 unit misil anti-kapal permukaan “Vulkan”, 64 unit Misil permukaan-ke-udara jarak jauh S-300, dan 40 unit misil anti-serangan udara jarak pendek “Osa”.

Kapal Penjelajah Misil Moskva. Fregat Kelas Admiral Grigorovich Kapal perang jenis fregat kelas Admiral Grigorovich kapal perang mutakhir yang dilengkapi persenjataan misil, dan masuk kedalam Armada Laut Hitam. Kapal terakhir yang dibuat adalah Admiral Makarov yang mulai masuk kedalam jajaran Angkatan Laut Russia pada tahun 2017, jumlah fregat kelas ini ada tiga unit. Misil yang mempersenjatai kapal ini berupa 24 unit misil permukaan-ke-udara jarak menengah “Buk”, dan delapan unit misil jelajah Kalibr, yang semuanya menggunakan peluncur vertical.

Fregate Admiral Grigorovich. Fregat kelas Admiral Grigorovich diawaki oleh 200 personil, memiliki bobot 4.000 ton, ukurannya kurang dari separuh ukuran destroyer US Navy Kelas Arleigh Burke. "You know, you go to a salon for a facial, and they've got 10 things they put on your face before they tapped you on the back and say go. And you feel so good. We need to do the same thing for our hair; treat our hair the same way we treat everything else. That's what I'm hoping for because for me, I look forward to wash day! “Chicana is a very complex term since it can be interpreted in many ways. For myself, I use it more as an identifier for being someone who has indigenous decent south of the European man-made border. For many, it has become a way to say, “I am indigenous to this land,” but due to displacement, they do not have the privilege and/or access to say what tribal affiliation pertains to them. So in a way, it has become an encompassing label for those who want to return back to their roots but need a place to start all while rejecting European influenced labels such as Hispanic and/or Latina/x. I identify myself as an ally to those who identify as Chicana but in reference to being “Mexican-American.” I myself have been socialized to deny such national labels because I am an indigenous womxn, and being of Apache and Chichimecatl are the identifiers I take great pride in.”
