I was kind of disappointed in TOTK lore around the Zonai.

In BOTW, we had very little information. Just the armor, labyrinths, and some ruins. We could see they were talented with stonework, probably valued aggressive hand-to-hand combat, and weren't tied to one region.

I think it would have been a lot more interesting if they were a race of people who came from hylian/zora/goron/rito hybrid children with monsters. Or were what the monsters were outside of Ganons control.

The armor matches the monster aesthetics, monsters don't stay in one region, and they value aggressive combat.

In some lore, the monsters existed by themselves and just followed Ganon and in others they were created by him. He could have also summoned them from outside Hyrule (we can see land outside the game map).

It could also be a fun twist on the minotaur myth. There's a lot you can do with that but what's coming to mind as an example right now is a coming of age/leadership ceremony. Where you had to navigate the maze and fight the opponent at the center to gain a higher status and doing all of them made you the king.

Just saying, there was a lot of time between Ganon wars. The monsters are intelligent (in a way) and there's no way a human (hylian) didn't TRY.

Was drawing Link with a gun when I let my younger brother and cousin draw on my tablet too. I couldn't finish my drawing though because my brother caused it to blue screen and erased the drawing COMPLETELY but thankfully I took this picture before that happened

The demonic yellow eyes of Ganondorf Dragmire narrowed in smug satisfaction as he held his Great Swords with a wicked grin of pure delight, as he chuckled.

"I do love a challenge in my conquest, devil!" Ganondorf boomed, voice like a thunderstorm. "The more they resist, the more fun it will be for me." Roared the Great King of Evil who rushed toward to the beautiful silver-haired devil maid who stood her ground and ready her attack toward to the evil invader who was unwelcome in the Underworld.

The War of the Demon King or the Ganondorf Invasion, started with a fierce battle between Great Demon King of Evil and the Silver-Haired Queen of Annihilation.

to give you an idea of the kind of "gamer" I am, I just spent 10 minutes of real time on TOTK watching with eyes glued to the screen as I maneuvered Link to crouch sneakily behind the Tabantha Bridge Stable, waiting for it to stop raining, because I wanted to know how the cooking fires outside the stables start back up again after they get doused in the rain

I will be forever mad that the master sword breaks in totk. You had all the right elements and you ruined it.

If you wanted to keep the breaking mechanic for it you could have just said that the malice (gloom) in Link would cause him to need to take breaks from using the sword

No but I have to many feelings about the Gerudo.

The shame. The shame of having given birth to the Calamity. Of having fostered and followed the man who will destroy Hyrule. To be reminded every day that monsters and malice were created by one of their own. That they will always have to fight harder than anyone else if they are to pay back all the lives that were taken by Ganon.

But also the despair. Realizing that their king, who had been promised to them, who had been prophesied, never cared about them. At the height of his power, he abandoned them. He never wanted to protect them, or even rule them, but to destroy them like the rest of Hyrule in order to attain true power.

It's also nice to see that they're doing incredibly well in the current era. Urbosa didn't need a prophecy to be one of the Gerudo's greatest ruler. And Riju didn't even need to be as good a warrior as Urbosa to be a competent leader.

You could say they never needed a man to govern themselves (ohoh! Gender!).
