i have so many steven universe theories and headcanons.
like i feel as if sapphire gets anxious when using her future vision, but ruby is always there to help her relax.
lapidot is the iconic enemies to lovers romance story.
connie most definitely helped steven learn the things he wouldve learned in school. i imagine she comes to the temple everyday after school and teaches him.

Steven Universe Alternate Future chapter 22: Pumpkin Patch (originally published on August 9, 2021)
AN: At long last, the homestretch of Part 3, which I have already dubbed the Tearjerking Three last time. And for our first entry into this trilogy, we finally get an update on the relationship between Peridot and Lapis, which I found to be done so dirty in Future as a Lapidot shipper. I mean, they didn't even interact with each other even when they were in the same episode together! Plus, Pumpkin just disappeared into thin air once the movie came along, leaving the only hint of where she is now are those similar gourd puppies from The Future. But enough griping, let's get my personal answer on what really happened, and maybe a big surprise that I no doubt have already spoiled on DeviantArt anyways.
Synopsis: Steven, Peridot and Lapis reminisce on the anniversary of Pumpkin's death.
Cast:
Zach Callison as Steven, Pumpkin
Shelby Rabara as Peridot, Squaridot
Jennifer Paz as Lapis, Laz, Zuli
Estelle as Garnet
Michaela Dietz as Amethyst, Ocean Jasper
Deedee Magno-Hall as Pearl
Uzo Aduba as Bismuth
Amy Sedaris as Teal Zircon
Jeff Bergman as Farmer
Featuring Billie Eilish as Turquoise
--
"Maybe I'll find myself smiling on that distant shore," Steven sang to himself while gazing at his watch as the oven timer counted down in front of him. "Maybe I'm not alone."
The timer beeped, notifying Steven that whatever he had in the oven was ready. After putting on some oven mitts and opening the oven, Steven pulled a pumpkin pie out and set it on the counter to cool. "This one is for you two, guys." He said before gazing at a nearby calendar that read June 7th. "I remember it like it was yesterday." Steven then began to reminisce on the aftermath of his visit to Homeworld.
--
A few weeks the Crystal Gems have successfully convinced the Diamonds to help them in healing the corrupted Gems on Earth, these Gems now needed somewhere to live. As far as Steven knew, there was no way they could expand the Temple to make room for all of them, and he's sure none of the newly healed Gems wanted to return to Homeworld, so the Crystal Gems decided that their only choice now was to build them their own little town. They had some basic ideas down, but all they needed now was a name.
"How about Peritropolis?!" Peridot suggested as she wrote down her choice of name on the whiteboard, with little sketches of her face surrounding the name for emphasis. "Pretty cool, huh?"
"How about something that won't stroke your ego?" Steven frowned at the idea.
"What about Barnstantinople?" Lapis proposed. "We are building it around where the barn used to be after all."
"Speaking of which, how's clean-up on that going?" Amethyst asked, looking out the window to gaze at the wreckage that was once Lapis and Peridot's barn house home. "I think some bits of it might be useful somehow."
"I say we put that on hold." Lapis stated. "That old barn caused just as much harm to Peridot and me as much as it did good."
"You serious about this?" Peridot asked her blue roommate. "I mean, we had so many good memories in there."
"Yeah, and a lot of those memories were you just bending over backwards trying to keep me happy." Lapis added. "I know you're still sad about me jumping ship and coming back with only a "Hey", but I still got things to work out, y'know."
"OK." Peridot said just as their pet Pumpkin opened the door. "Oh, hey Pumpkin!"
In contrast to Peridot being excited to see Pumpkin, the little canine fruit let out an exhausted bark before sitting down to nap, revealing wrinkles around her eyeholes.
"Hey, is your little buddy there doin' alright?" Bismuth asked. "I barely know a thing about the lifespan of organic creatures, but even I know she ain't doing so hot."
"Oh, I'm sure she's just tired!" Peridot assured Bismuth. "Just needs to rest, that's all!"
"Don't be so sure Peridot." Garnet advised the little Gem. "Pumpkin was brought to life with magic, which means she's probably lived longer than a pumpkin normally does."
"Just let her be happy Garnet." Pearl whispered into Garnet's ear. "She's already been through so much recently, and I don't think she can take anymore."
"You sure she's OK Dottie?" Steven asked Peridot regarding Pumpkin. "Nothing lasts forever, you know."
"Oh, she just needs some extra time in the Sun!" Peridot laughed. But despite her insistence, that wasn't how the story really went.
--
"Okay, a little to the left!" Peridot commanded Squaridot as the eye Gem Peridot levitated a lifeguard chair around while Bismuth, Ocean Jasper & Teal Zircon dug up the ground to build a swimming pool. "No, your other left!" she corrected herself. "Wait wait, your other OTHER left!"
"There's no such thing as an other other left!" Squaridot yelled and grumpily set the chair down next to where she was standing. "How's this?"
"Perfect." Peridot gave her fellow technician a thumbs up before turning around to see the Lapis twins walk towards the construction site. "Oh, I see our lifeguards wanna start early!"
"Why was it necessary for us to dress in these?" Laz wondered while modeling the red one-piece she was wearing. "I don't think red is my color."
"I don't know about you Laz, but I make this look good!" Zuli declared while flaunting her body in a matching outfit. "We look just like the hotties on Coast Patrol or Destiny from CPH season 3! By the way, where's Lapis? She's head lifeguard, so shouldn't she be out here with us?"
"She still has the suit, but she's not coming out because today is a special day." Peridot stated. "It's the anniversary of a certain something."
"Hey, I think I can see Steven's car!" Ocean Jasper cried out as she peeked out of the hole to find Steven disembarking from his Dondai Supremo and walking over with the pumpkin pie in hand. "And he's got a pie, maybe as thanks for our hard work."
"Naw, I don't think it's for us Ocean." Bismuth said just as Steven walked over to Peridot. "I think we should leave them alone for a bit and get back to work."
"Aw, but I wanted a pie!" Teal Zircon complained.
"I see you got the pie." Peridot said to Steven while gazing at the pie in his hands. "In case you're wondering, we worked on a new meep morp last night dedicated to her."
"Okay, why don't you show me?" Steven offered.
"I'd be happy to." Peridot smiled before turning back to everyone at the in-progress pool. "Keep up the good work everyone, I'll just be taking the rest off!"
"Yeah, take some time for yourself, Peri." Bismuth replied while Squaridot used her burgeoning ferrokinesis to lift the blacksmith out of the pool. "Just don't get too teary-eyed and fill up the pool early."
"Yeah, we're planning on filling the pool for our opening ceremony!" Teal called while struggling to get out.
"And I'm just gonna catch some rays." Laz declared as she sat down on a lawn chair, pulled some sunglasses over her eyes, and began sunbathing. However, her moment of peace was cut off by Zuli loudly blowing into her whistle and laughing.
"So, who's the pie really for Bis?" Ocean Jasper asked as she climbed out the pool before helping Teal and the two sat down next to Bismuth.
"You two got a moment?" Bismuth asked, and the Jasper and Zircon nodded in affirmation. "Well, the pie is actually for a friend of theirs."
--
Steven and Peridot kept walking away from the pool and eventually found themselves in front of the Little Homeworld house that Lapis & Peridot shared. It looked like a smaller version of the barn the two Gems once lived in, but instead of being decorated with a mishmash of items around the barnyard, it now looked like Peridot did most of the construction with bits of metal and advanced technology sprinkled onto a simple-looking two-story cabin.
"Hey Lapis, we're here." Steven called out to Lapis as he and Peridot entered the cabin to find Lapis napping on the couch with a manga on her lap and a red one-piece hanging on a clothes hanger nearby. "Lapis, wake up."
"Agh, don't go with her Pierre!" Lapis yelled as she woke up from her nap and rubbed her eyes to find Peridot & Steven before her. "Sorry you guys, I was trying on my lifeguard uniform, but then I got bored and decided to relax a little."
"You still remember what day it is?" Peridot asked while Steven presented his pumpkin pie.
"Yeah, I still do." Lapis declared sadly. "Want to see the meep morp we've been working on, Steven?"
"Sure." Steven replied before the two Gems took him upstairs to their shared bedroom & workshop, where a very large sculpture of Pumpkin stood, a big smile permanently etched onto the front beneath a pair of innocent eyes. "Almost like the real thing. Except bigger."
"Showing this to you makes me miss her even more." Peridot began to hold back tears. "I still remember how I coped with it too."
--
The groundbreaking ceremony of what would soon become Little Homeworld went quite swimmingly for the Crystal Gems, thanks to the support of their Beach City friends and the Diamonds. But amidst the rejoicing of a new beginning for Gems on Earth, there was some bad news that flew right under everyone's noses.
After Peridot marked the giant pit where the barn once was with Little Homeworld's flag, Pumpkin came strolling up to her green owner looking far wearier and more decayed than she did previously, a sight which worried them greatly. As soon as the ceremonies ended, Pumpkin was rushed back to the beach house.
"Please Steven, you gotta do something!" Peridot begged Steven while Pumpkin laid before the trio with a heavy sigh emitting from her mouth. "Pumpkin doesn't have much time left, surely you must have the solution like you always do!"
"I'm really sorry Peridot." Steven said regretfully. "As much as I would love to help you and Lapis out, Pumpkin wasn't long for this Earth anyways. Death is a perfectly natural part of life. It can be real sad and scary to watch someone you treasured so dearly go, but ultimately, their time will come all the same."
"So, she was going to die regardless?" Lapis said apprehensively while stroking the living gourd's rotting body. "I don't really see how this is possible since you did bring her to life with your powers, but I can deal with it."
"Well, I'm not!" Peridot objected tearfully. "It's not fair! I've already been through so much, why does the universe have to keep nailing the hammer into the coffin?!"
"Peridot, I know you're upset, but you gotta listen." Steven tried comforting his little green pal. "Death is completely natural, even if it's scary. I mean, my dad might die someday, and so might Connie. I'm not sure if I can die like a human though."
"Well, your race is different." Peridot declared. "None of you will ever know what it's like to live forever!" With that, she stormed out of the beach house to vent, leaving her two friends to worry for Peridot.
"I don't think I want to know where this is going." Lapis muttered.
"If it's anything like what happened to Peridot after you left Earth, I don't think she'll take it very well." Steven agreed.
--
Using a trashcan lid, Peridot flew far away from the general area of Beach City and into the countryside, where farmlands were very prosperous. Farmlands like the ones she and Lapis tended to together in the past, and the ones where Pumpkin was born. The very sight of all these fresh crops made her more miserable. What gave them the right to grow so healthy while Pumpkin looked so withered?
"Rackum frackum produce, I'll show you what for!" Peridot mumbled as she touched down in front of a pumpkin patch and swiftly got to work on destroying them. "You walked so Pumpkin could die!" she yelled as her green body became covered in orange pumpkin insides. "Why can't anything go my way for once?!"
"Hey, get offa my crops ya gremlin!" a farmer yelled at Peridot while stomping over to her with a pitchfork in hand. "You got any idea what it's like to work so hard on a great harvest, only for it to be ruined by a bunch of punks?!"
"No, but I'm sure you don't know what it's like to love someone only to lose them!" Peridot argued with the farmer, a retort that stunned him a little before he tried to look more sympathetic.
"Coping, eh?" the farmer said. "Look, you have every right to get mad, but that don't mean you can just stomp all over someone else's hard work! You gotta find better ways to vent, ya know!"
"Look, sir, I literally just ran away from home, I don't have time right now." Peridot coldly rejected the farmer's advice.
"Well, looks like you left me no choice." The farmer shook his head before reaching behind his back and pulling out a scary mask to frighten Peridot with. "BOOGEDY BOOGEDY BOOGEDY!"
"AAAAAHHHHHH!" Peridot screamed loudly before flying away from the farm on her lid.
--
As soon as Peridot returned to Beach City, she soared right towards Steven's house, where she found him making a grilled cheese sandwich, and began pounding on his window.
"Steven! Steven!" Peridot yelled from outside, getting the half-Gem's attention. "Let me in, I wanna talk!"
"You know you can just come in yourself." Steven suggested before opening the door for his green friend. "How have things been going?"
"I got an idea for you." Peridot stated. "How about in exchange for helping me with Pumpkin, I'll do something for you in return. Just name your price, I'll do anything!"
"Peridot, are you trying to bribe me into saving Pumpkin?" Steven asked. "Didn't I tell you earlier that death is a natural part of life?"
"But you managed to save Lars from death with your crying!" Peridot objected. "Why can't you do the same to Pumpkin?! Why does she have to die while so many other pumpkins have to live?!"
"Pumpkins?" Steven asked. "What other pumpkins?"
"I vented my frustrations by whaling on some farmer's pumpkin harvest." Peridot confessed innocently. "He didn't take too kindly to that."
"I think I know where this is going." Steven realized. "Five Stages of Grief, right? First was anger, now you're bargaining. Which means depression might not be too far behind." Just then, as if on cue, Steven's phone started ringing with a message from Lapis that he readily picked up. "Hello?"
"Steven, is Peridot there?" Lapis asked from the other end of the line. "Ever since she fled the house, I took Pumpkin back to our place, and now she wants to see us both before, you know."
"See what I mean?" Steven declared to Peridot, who was now on the verge of breaking down because now, she finally realized it was too late. "Do you want to see her?"
"Yes please." Peridot began to sob and hugged Steven tight. "Promise me that you won't ever leave too, Steven."
"I promise." Steven stated, hugging Peridot back.
--
Meanwhile, at the massive construction site that would soon become Little Homeworld, Lapis gently watched over the slowly dying Pumpkin, whose normally bright orange skin now had splotches of grayish-black, as she let out a weak yip. "Don't die yet, sweetie." Lapis assured Pumpkin. "Peridot will be here soon, I know it."
And right on cue, Peridot and Steven soared right towards Lapis on the trash can lid to see Pumpkin off one last time. Peridot raced as fast as she could towards the groundwork for her and Lapis's new home and tightly nuzzled her pet gourd, unaware that it wasn't in the mood for such a tight hug.
"Peridot, let her go! She's in pain!" Lapis yelled while prying the sentient pumpkin from Peridot's embrace, much to the green Gem's agony.
"No, please!" Peridot cried. "Just let me hold her!"
"I'm sorry Peri, but I don't think she can take much more!" Lapis argued while on the brink of crying just as much. "Pumpkin's already dying. She's so scared right now, so let's just-"
"Don't try to argue Lapis." Steven solemnly interrupted Lapis. "Peridot's already having a breakdown as is."
"I'm sorry about that." Lapis quickly apologized before she turned to Pumpkin. "Pumpkin, if you can still hear me, I want you to know that you and Peridot were the only things keeping me sane here, even when I ran off to the moon." She said to the dying fruit. "I can't thank you enough for brightening my day with your cute little smile, your barking, and all the days we spent playing together. Even if we find a replacement, none can ever replace you, little guy."
"You want a turn, Peri?" Steven said to Peridot.
"Fine, but I won't like it." Peridot sniffed loudly as she walked up to Pumpkin. "You were like an offspring to us, Pumpkin." She said quietly. "When I first saw your little carved face, those adorable stubby legs, it filled my heart with so much joy. Figuratively, of course, since we naturally don't have hearts. But every step we took together, every struggle, kept me grounded here on this crazy planet. Oh stars, now I won't know what to do now."
"Mah, mah," Pumpkin barked weakly with her last breath. "Mommy."
"I promise you," Peridot declared while her gem touched Pumpkin's forehead. "I'll never forget."
And with that, Pumpkin gently shut her eyes, allowing herself to pass on with her mothers and her creator by her side.
--
The funeral that followed was a private affair, with only the other Crystal Gems, Connie and Greg in attendance, and Pumpkin buried outside Peridot & Lapis's house. However, it was after the funeral when trouble began brewing. Just like when she had first begun living with the Gems, Peridot began hiding away in the bathroom for the next week to grieve the demise of Pumpkin and seemed resilient in refusing to come out, no matter how much they tried.
"C'mon P-Dot, open up!" Amethyst called while pounding on the door. "If you're planning on flushing yourself down the toilet again, let me tell you again, I tried that once and it didn't work."
"I think I know what to do." Greg proposed his idea and held up a boombox that began playing a song he knew she would recognize. "I look up to the sky, that's full of stars-"
"I'm trying to mourn here, leave me alone." Peridot despondently declared.
"I say we should respect her wishes." Garnet stated before she turned her gaze to Lapis. "Unless…."
"You think I should go in there?" Lapis asked.
"You are quite possibly Peridot's closest friend." Pearl agreed with Garnet.
"Closest friend?" Bismuth raised an eyebrow. "C'mon, we all know there may be something more than that!"
"Well, okay then." Lapis finally accepted with a shrug and slowly pushed the door open. "Wish me luck." She then said before entering the bathroom and closing it behind her. "You still in here?"
"So, they sent you in now." Peridot observed hoarsely. "I may have lost all hope, but I can still hear you know."
"They do say we're the closest." Lapis said before she sat down on the edge of the tub where Peridot had hidden herself away beneath a cocoon of Steven's bedsheets. "Come on now, get up and sit next to me."
"Okay, if it's you, I'll talk." Peridot succumbed to Lapis's offer and rose from her comfy shell to talk with her barn mate. "I'm sorry for worrying you all this past week, it's just that Pumpkin was basically our baby! Watching her die was like watching a child die!"
"Except the child wasn't human, it was a magical living pumpkin." Lapis remarked, which caused Peridot to glare at her. "No offense."
"But still, outside of our relationship, why did you volunteer?" Peridot wondered.
"Well, because I wanted to return the favor." Lapis answered. "Remember what happened after that boat trip I took with Steven and his dad?"
--
As soon as Lapis dropped Steven and Greg off at the docks following the boat trip gone wrong, she needed someone to lean on in her time of need. It didn't matter who, it could be any of the other Crystal Gems, or one of Steven's human friends. But right now, there was only one person, or rather Gem, that she could turn to.
Lapis could now see the barn in the distance, and as reluctant as she was to admit it, Peridot was the only one who could understand her regarding a certain Quartz. "Peridot, are you there?" she called for her green housemate. "I'm back!"
"Lapis, so glad you could make it!" Peridot exclaimed while racing out of the barn. "I discovered that I can move spoons with my mind, I made some decent progress on my Camp Pining Hearts essay; though I'm still stuck on the poutine theory, and-" However, she realized a bit too late what Lapis was feeling. "Is something the matter?"
"Steven and I found Jasper during the trip." Lapis said morosely. "She wanted to fuse with me again because she says I changed her. And to be honest, I think it was kind of my fault. Unfusing with Jasper drove her mad and I even said I missed taking all my frustrations out on her!"
"Lapis, are you serious?" Peridot gasped in alarm.
"Yes, I'm serious." Lapis declared as her eyes darkened and she turned away from Peridot. "Go ahead, run off and live with the Gems again so you don't have to be another one of my victims. If Jasper says I'm a monster, then I guess I really am one, especially after the way I treated you when we first moved in together."
"Okay Lapis, I don't want your garbage right now!" Peridot yelled, briefly breaking Lapis out of her funk with the almost exact words she described the tape recorder she broke. "I can see you're very stressed out. You want to scream so bad, to hit something, to let your anger out! But whatever you do, don't lose it on other people."
"Wh-what are you saying?" Lapis asked.
"I'm mostly just repeating stuff I read online," Peridot admitted. "I think what you need is a way to vent healthily, maybe on a perfectly defenseless object."
"Like what?" Lapis raised an eyebrow in suspicion.
"One second!" Peridot exclaimed while walking into the barn and coming back out with an alien plush wearing a top hat and bowtie that she gazed at with a solemn expression. "I'm so sorry my sweet." She said softly to the stuffed toy before presenting it to Lapis. "Go ahead, hit it as hard as you can. Or maybe something else violent, whatever."
"Okay." Lapis sighed as she began feeling around the toy for something to do before grabbing at the bowtie and ripping it off the alien's neck, causing some stuffing to spill out of the hole she created. "Whoa."
"So, how did that make you feel?" Peridot asked as the alien dropped from her grip.
"Good." Lapis muttered in awe of what she just did. "I feel so much lighter now, like a real adrenaline burst."
"See, as I told you." Peridot smiled happily. "You just needed healthier ways to relieve stress."
"You're right." Lapis agreed when she got an idea. "Now, how about I try something a little heavier?" She then glanced over to a nearby pickup truck and used the water from Peridot's makeshift pool to lift it into the air. "How about this?"
"Yeah, I think that could work." Peridot nervously replied before Lapis suddenly tossed the truck into the air. "NO WAIT, THAT'S A LITTLE TOO-" she screamed and covered herself to avoid getting hit, but the truck instead crashed into the wall over the barn entrance, creating a massive hole that the vehicle filled. "Hm, guess I was wrong."
"Well, if we're gonna be living here together, why don't we make ourselves at home?" Lapis laughed and put a hand on Peridot's shoulder.
"Yeah, I think this is a good start." Peridot agreed while wrapping her arm around the taller Gem's waist and the two began brainstorming ideas for remodeling the barn.
--
"Yeah, I really was there for you back then." Peridot realized with a grin. "And from then on out, we were so close."
"You bet." Lapis replied and cupped Peridot's face in her hands. "Let me be a shoulder for you to cry on this time. I love you Peridot."
"I love you too Lapis." Peridot responded happily before the two began to kiss, and their gems started glowing as they began to fuse into a tall, slender Gem with turquoise hair, dark cyan hair in the shape of a maple leaf, Peridot's glasses, Lapis's top with a bright yellow star on it, a skirt with a bronze ribbon around her waist and dark teal sandals with bronze accents.
The new, accidental fusion of Peridot and Lapis looked around the bathroom and gazed down at her four hands. Feeling around her body, she felts the gems of her components on her forehead and back before coming to a shocking realization and let out a loud, confused scream. "AAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
"Is something wrong?!" Steven exclaimed as he barged into the bathroom to discover the fusion before him and started screaming as well, but this time in joy. "AAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
"AAAAAHHHHHHHH!" the new fusion continued screaming and covered her face in alarm at Steven as the two continued shrieking at each other.
--
"But was that fusion really an accident or maybe something more?" Peridot asked while she, Steven, and Lapis walked outside to her and Lapis's garden in their backyard.
"Maybe a mix of both?" Lapis answered with a shrug. "I mean, we did kiss each other after saying "I love you" to each other, but the fusion part came out of nowhere."
"Still, we were all so happy to see you two fuse at last." Steven said. "Words could not describe how long I've been waiting for that moment."
"I couldn't shapeshift, so I just assumed I couldn't fuse as well." Peridot observed before they happened upon a makeshift tombstone that read 'In memory of Pumpkin. A good girl to the end.' "You know, all this talk reminds me of a song I've been writing for the past few days. It may seem a little short and I pulled from other sources, but it's the best I got."
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Lapis suggested eagerly. "Sing for us."
"Yeah, we never heard you do a solo before either." Steven agreed with the ocean Gem.
"Okay, if you insist." Peridot declared before she cued a nearby Robonoid tending to the garden to start playing jazzy music, and she started to sing. "My sweet little pumpkin o' mine, a living gourd with a smile so fine. You made us smile with your bark, your stem's like emerald, and filled with seeds of gold. You were our most beloved work of art."
Almost as if Pumpkin was coming back to listen to Peridot's eulogy, many similar living produce like additional pumpkins, some gourds, and squashes, began coming out to watch. "You saw fields of corn, sandy beaches too. In summers so warm, it was just us and you." Peridot continued singing. "And I think to myself, what a wonderful pet."
Soon, Lapis began to join in on the song as well. "Though your time was short, like all things are." She joined Peridot in singing with her own solo. "We'll always think of you, when we look at your star."
"Our sweet little pumpkin of ours," the pair finished the song and embraced each other. "You were a wonderful pet."
With that, the two Gems fused into Turquoise, this time on purpose while surrounded by living Cucurbita, and smiled.
"Thank you for coming today, Steven." Turquoise said to Steven. "It really means a lot to us."
"Nothing to it girls." Steven smiled while rubbing his finger on his upper lip.
In Memory of Thea "Muriel Bagge" White
June 16, 1940 – July 30, 2021
"What courage you have."
--
So ends the first installment of the Tearjerking Three. In comparison to what will come next, I'm pretty sure this will be tears of happiness at these two dorky barnmates basically becoming an item at last and even fusing too (also, I totally took Turquoise's design from @artifiziell, she makes some amazing stuff, go check her out). But next time, we move on from someone being dead for real to someone being dead to Steven. Can you guess which one? Oh who am I kidding, if you watch me on DeviantArt, I basically spoiled everything after this.

My Evil!Pink AU. This is an old headcanon, now AU, from around the time "The Trial" came out. It was mostly me ignoring all the signs that Rose was Pink Diamond and shamelessly making Peridot the main character lol. This is centered around my old belief that Yellow Diamond was the one who shattered Pink...but in self-defense. I predicted (correctly) that Pink suffered abuse from the other Diamonds, being constantly put down and punished for her child-like nature. After a long fight for her own colony and to finally have a chance to prove herself, she does get one. And it goes terribly. She initially wants to give the colony a little more freedom to run itself, wanting to distance herself from the other Diamonds. However, the others don't approve of this method and forced her to double down on her control. This led to a growing sense of discontent channeled by one of her own creations, a Rose Quartz who she trusted and has now turned against her. This rebellion is yet another failure by Pink and one that she cannot fix on her own, leading to Yellow . Yellow does not hide her disappointment of Pink and openly chastises her in front of her own court. Blue meanwhile guilt trips Pink and emotionally manipulates her along the lines of "Why do you do this to us?" and "You wanted this. I should have seen that you weren't ready, but you insisted." Being in the middle of a WAR, Pink encounters a large amount of trauma, such as an instance where a fringe group of the rebellion attempted to assassinate her and she started becoming paranoid, expecting an attack at any time. Pink's resentment of others and cynicism grew, especially that of Yellow. She was increasingly violent on the battlefield, even brutally shattering a large fusion (which definitely reminded her of Yellow), contributing to Garnet's view of Pink as a merciless monster. She eventually comes to the conclusion that she wouldn't have to feel so ashamed, feel so fearful if Yellow wasn't there. If Yellow was shattered by the rebellion, they would finally retreat and the other Diamonds would retaliate against the rebellion rather than blaming her. (Some very flawed reasoning but it fits canon Pink's terrible life choices lol) In a similar way as described in The Trial, Pink leads Yellow away from others and attempts to shatter her, but Yellow easily overpowers her and accidentally shatters her. Pink states that "You didn't even hesitate?" showing how convinced she is that Yellow hates her. Yellow feels intense grief and guilt for this, but doesn't want to taint Blue's memory of the precious, young Pink. She places the blame on Rose, who accepts and runs with this narrative for her cause (who may still be morally grey as she witnessed the ordeal and did nothing to stop it). And White is there I guess?? At the time of this headcanon, I thought White was the fusion of Pink, Blue, and Yellow so she doesn't have a big role. Pink goes to the afterlife, which is a gray wasteland (see above) where gems who have unfinished business in the living world wander with holes where their gems would be. If their unfinished business gets resolved, they disappear, moving on. Meanwhile on Earth, everything goes as normal except Lapis has been training Peridot to use her metal powers. I mean, they're both telekinetic powers so they should work similarly. Plus, Lapidot is my heart and soul so I'll take any excuse for them to be closer (it's canon in this AU). Peridot wants to go on missions with the others, but keeps being swept aside due to her physical weakness and inexperience with her powers. However at some point (maybe after the Rubies and them go to the moon??) a group of Homeworld gems come to either as a Jasper rescue team 2.0 or as retribution for stuff Steven does in space. Garnet decides to bring everyone on board to defend Earth, including Peridot and Lapis. I haven't decided what gems actually show up but maybe some more quartz gems?? Either way, the threat is big enough for the team that Garnet seems visibly concerned. They win the fight, but at a cost. Peridot sacrifices herself in battle and is shattered. Having built a friendship with the entire team, her death absolutely wrecks everyone. Steven desperately tries to heal her, but fails. In her grief, Lapis almost shatters the Homeworld gems, but Steven stops her. She falls into a deep depression and refuses to leave the barn, instead spending her days holding onto Peridot's shards. Amethyst confronts Garnet about how this evaded her future vision and why she would bring Peridot if she would die. Garnet snaps and says "If I didn't bring them, it would have been one of us!" Amethyst becomes furious and yells that Peridot is one of them. She and Pearl give her the cold shoulder and refuse to hear her out. (This is mostly because I feel like Garnet never has a moment where she messes up and everyone is mad at her. She's always right and that made her boring to me) Steven later learns that Garnet saw that if she didn't bring Lapis and Peridot, it was almost impossible to win the fight without someone being shattered. However, if they came, there was more of a chance of losing no one, but their lives would be at risk. She had a hard choice to make, and it didn't work out. There would be a whole arc of everyone confronting their grief and comforting each other. In the end, Garnet is forgiven and Lapis decides to move into the temple, becoming closer to main cast. She literally lets go of Peridot, putting her shards with the other bubbled gems. In the last part of the arc, Steven visits Peridot's bubble and recalls how much of an impact she had and tells her to not worry, everyone will be okay. Also, he opens up about his guilt of not being able to bring her back. However, it seems like there are fewer shards and the pieces have gotten bigger. He attributes this to denial and looking for something that isn't there. Nonetheless, he visits again a few days later and realizes that it wasn't denial, the gem is being put back together. Peridot's gem still has large cracks filled in by his healing tears, but it is pretty much healed. He and the other gems pop her bubble, but something goes wrong when she tries to reform. Chunks of her body are missing, most notably half of her face. She can't walk or move as well as before, but everyone is overjoyed to have her back. She is also missing some memories from the cracks in her gem. Lapis is extremely protective of her and will not let her so much as walk without her there. Amethyst, on the other hand, wants to go back to having fun and going on missions. Peridot forces a compromise where she can go out to the barn and the town, but only with escorts. She tests if her metal powers still work by trying to lift a can. Unbeknownst to her at first, she accidentally lifts most of the barn. Her powers are greatly heightened, but to an almost uncontrollable level. Eventually she convinces the other gems to let her on a mission to the strawberry battlefield to retrieve more weapons or something. Upon arriving, she immediately has a terrible seizure, yelling "Please STOP!!" and "Please! One at a time!". She is brought back into the afterlife, where many gems are clamoring for her attention to resolve their unfinished business. After calming down the crowd, she speaks to a gem who was shattered on the battlefield, but whose shards were never found. Peridot awakens and point the gems to the hidden shards, giving peace to the shattered gem. She soon realizes how much of a curse this connection to the afterlife is as she cannot go into a battlefield without tons of gems asking for peace and overwhelming her, or hold a conversation with Pearl or Garnet without them asking about a past loved one. She even learns that Rose did this once before, but the gem she healed was so miserable that she had to keep it bubbled...yayyy. It becomes much worse when Pink finds her. Peridot had been successfully fighting off the other shattered gems trying to control her, but Pink is too strong for her. Pink is able to possess her, using Peridot's body to finally live again, to the horror of the other gems. Pink introduces herself to Steven and the others and claims that she was wrongly killed. After all, she was only doing what the other diamonds were telling her to do. She had to fight against the rebellion. Even if she ruled over the colony and fought in the war, did that mean she deserved to die? Surely the least Steven could do to right his mother's wrongs would to bring her back to life and finally get the diamonds to leave Earth alone. The other gems of course don't trust her and don't want to bring another diamond into the world; even Peridot objects, feeling like there was a reason that the other gems in the afterlife feared her. Pink senses Steven's hesitation and repeatedly takes over Peridot's body, torturing her day by day while insisting that she is only doing what she must to reunite with her family. Peridot insists that he shouldn't do this for her sake and that she doesn't matter; she definitely says at some point that "Some things are better left dead, Steven!!". This isn't enough though as Steven caves in and meets with the diamonds. Pink possesses Peridot to talk with them, verbally torturing Yellow and insisting that she tell Blue "what she did". Yellow deflects and tries to convince Blue not to bring her back, but unable to persuade her without also revealing the truth. Steven heals Pink, but her gem was even more shattered than Peridot's, causing her form to be more mangled and distorted. Also, her powers are much stronger and she doesn't hesitate to fight Yellow. However, she overestimated her ability and the diamonds escape. Pink regains her old armies (including the Jaspers and Rose Quartzes) and tries to turn the other diamond's gems against them. (This is where things get messy as I haven't completely thought them through) Pink isolates Yellow and surprises her, killing her quickly and "not hesitating, just like you". White and Blue try to reason with her, but to no avail. Pink's armies overwhelm them and they are both shattered. Pink declares herself sole ruler of the gem empire, but is stopped as she feels herself losing control. The other diamonds fight her from the afterlife to take over her body and force her to shatter herself. The war is finally over, but the colonies are left to recover with no leaders and the aftermath of Pink's rule. The crystal gems and the rebels throughout the universe have to work to reform gem society and fix the damage the diamonds have done. Or something like that. tl;dr Pink was traumatized by the gem war and tried to kill Yellow, but Yellow shattered her instead. Pink blackmails Steven from the afterlife into bringing her back to life and letting her get revenge by using Peridot, who was shattered and healed. All the diamonds end up dying and the universe is freed from their tyranny.

Hey so on the SU movie poster it kindaaaa looks like the Crystal temple mayyy have a extension? Maybe that's just my eyesight failing me but Idk,,, it could be where Peridot and Lapis live and or Bismuth???
That's entirely possible! 👀
I'm thinking that the silo-looking structure on the left could be a massively rebuilt barn; with the Lapidot family in one bit and, say, the Off Colors and Bismuth in the other buildings there. But it's kinda hard to tell and you could be absolutely correct, Anon!
Either way, it looks like the Lapidot family will be closer to the other Crystal Gems but still have their own living area separate from the Temple, and I'm 100% in favour of that.

Reforming
A fic that i made for @wwater-witch‘s birthday. But I’m only posting it now because emotional stress and school kept getting in the way. Still, Belated Happy Birthday...! it’s probably not my best work and i hope you like my gift to you  ^-^ I love you a lot
Pairing: Lapidot
Words: 3.2K
Summary: Lapis becomes the first one to regenerate after she and Peridot get poofed from battle.
Neither Greg nor Bismuth could begin to believe that they actually saw Steven give out a distress call through an overripe watermelon…In fact, saying it out loud would make anyone think that they were pretty insane. And yet there he was before, relieved yet in anguish while arriving on Lion’s back. There was so little yet so much to process when the watermelon Steven began to scribble around the sand, but the two understood what he was going through back in Homeworld. A promise was made to the expiring fruit physique that help was on the way soon and everything will be okay!
“Jeez, Greg, I knew he was a Diamond but…I didn’t expect he could actually do something like that…” Bismuth articulated, standing next to the already deceased watermelon.
“To be honest, I’m just as shocked as you are.” Greg replies while facing away from the fruit corpse. “…And he probably does that like, every day maybe…”
The distress message on the sand was still legible for Bismuth to look at one more time. The context that the Crystal Gems were up against serious threats crossed over her mind, inevitably sparking a blaze to make them fight again. “Well then. I guess there’s no time to waste.” She says. “Looks like Homeworld has a thing for minding their own bismuth if Steven had to come all the way back here…And if it’s a fight they want, it’s a fight they’ll get!”
“Aw heck yeah! But…I don’t think going up against another fifty-foot tall empress on your own will do the trick, Bismuth…” Greg says.
And quite frankly, he was right. Thinking about sending backup was not as easy as SAYING that there would be after seeing Steven fade away…It needed sheer strategy to travel all the way to another planet and become have the strength of an entire army to take on an actual one. Luckily, Bismuth was a skilled warrior, ready to put herself into another battle like last time. Unluckily, she was really just one gem……
“Hmm…..if only one of them could have been left behind to…..” Bismuth was whispering, suddenly that one articulation made her realize... “YEAH, THAT’S IT!”
 …. ….. ….. ….. ….. ….. ….. …..
The blacksmith went inside the house…well, at least what was left of the house on the temple. The living room was nearly completed from being patched up from the Diamonds wreckage as only a sofa, coffee table and a busted staircase still intact. Bismuth stopped in that room, only to see Pumpkin lying down on the couch next to a fort made of a few small pillows on the sofa.
“Still in there, huh?” Bismuth inquires. A melancholy purr was given as a reply. She sighed while finding her own seat next to the pillow fort. “I think it’s pretty neat. Gotta protect the two somehow while I’m working…”
Alas, she completely dismantles the fort so that Pumpkin could see what was left of her parents. She barks to the sight of Lapis and Peridot’s gems side by side. Bismuth congratulated herself briefly every day for making sure that the two gems were still in one piece. And at this time, she gave her felicitations for the eighth day in a row. Lapis and Peridot were one of a kind when she first witnessed them during battle. She could hardly pay attention to her strength when she saw Peridot unveil her metal powers combined with her recklessness, and she flinched more than twice seeing Lapis use the ocean to chain up and seize Blue Diamond. The two gems were utterly perfect for a battle!
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen gems take this long to regenerate after fight, it’s driving me nuts…” Bismuth says. “And RIGHT when Steven needs us the most, they’re STILL not out yet! What’s going on in---“
Literally out of the blue, Lapis’ gem began to glow brightly and levitate off the couch. Pumpkin barked repeatedly to the strange yet magical display of a tear-drop shaped stone slowly taking its physique. Bismuth also gawked above the room, her eyes were widened as if her wish had been answered from a shooting star. “Well speak of the stars…….” She utters. Even the intensifying frequency of a gem reforming emitted out of Lapis. Before long, a glowing mannequin with coarse hair springs out. The light from the illuminous physique took seconds to finally flash out until Lapis’ body was formed. Her golden slippers gently touch the floor boards and stood affirmed without moving a muscle yet.
“Um…Rise and shine…” Bismuth utters.
Her voice captures her attention and makes her turn her head around. The glimpse of the blacksmith’s familiar face during the Diamond invasion made her breathe heavily from panic. It reminded her of her reason to regenerate…To protect the Crystal Gems…Her water wings sprung out of her gem, forming two giant fists as she exclaims. Bismuth becomes daunted by her behavior and stands right up on her feet.
“The Diamonds! Where are they now?!” Lapis says loudly. “I’m not finished with them yet! I’ll show them what happens when they hurt Steven and Peridot!!!” she yells. The larger gem approaches in front of her and waves her hands around to signal that everything was okay. But Lapis persisted to let her rampant emotions flow through her veins. “Come on! We still have time to show them what we got!” she exclaims…But just before she could attack anything or even head outside to look for the Diamonds, Pumpkin rushes up to the blue gem and tugs onto their legs. Huh…this was different for Bismuth to see all of a sudden. Did she always wear pants prior to their last battle…?
Pumpkin’s petite and worrying barks as her tiny arms seized onto Lapis’ leg caught the ocean gem’s attention. Her eyes widen and her grimace disappears nearly right away, together with withdrawing her water fists back to her gemstone. She turns around for her eyes to look back on the Pumpkin dog’s alarmed expression. Pumpkin would never show up in the midst of an impending danger. And taking the time to properly breathe for only one moment and let the yelping sink in, Lapis’ rage was out of her. She was in the house, noises from outside was unperceivable, and she was safe.
The blue gem kneels down. “Pumpkin…” she says softly, laying her hand onto the sentient fruit’s forehead. “Oh stars, I’m so sorry. You know I would never scare you on purpose…” she pauses to perceive the continuous sobbing of her frantic child. “Don’t worry, I’m home now, aren’t I…?”
Hesitance was the only thing that could cross through Pumpkin’s mind at first to be into contact with Lapis. But the familiar sense of her hand tussling onto his head made her remember who her parent was. Subsequently, her frantically shut eyes open up to see the softest grin on the ocean gem’s expression. She lets out a bark, later jumping onto Lapis’ body to lick her face continuously. Cheerful giggling began to resonate in the living room as the blue-haired gem is bumped down and fails to control the glee of Pumpkin’s kisses. She begged to stop for a moment, but Pumpkin was too overjoyed to listen as she finally saw her mother back from regeneration.
Bismuth simply watches them with total forbearance. The look on Lapis’ face was not present when she first got to see her. She could see her giggle all day and be amused by it, but like before, there was no time for that.
“Alright, alright, get off her now would ya.” She says approaching Pumpkin and patting them out of Lapis’ chest. “I hate breaking up a sweet reunion but, I’m afraid we haven’t been acquainted yet…” and in all seriousness, who knows what Steven could be going through at this time.
She gives out her immense hand for Lapis to grab onto and be pulled up by, nearly intimidating the blue gem at first. “Wow, you sure have a knack for being all caught up in your emotions there.”
Lapis giggles awkwardly. “I guess.” She replies. “Say uh....do I…know you already or…?”
“The name’s Bismuth! One of the original Crystal Gems!” the blacksmith says gleefully as she initiates a handshake. “And you ma’am must be…”
“Lapis. Lapis Lazuli.” She replies. “It’s an honor to meet you, I guess.”
“Honor’s all mine.” She says softly, letting go of her hand. “Huh, so you’re Lapis Lazuli…Well look at ya! It’s no wonder Peridot’s been so moody about you after we first met!” she lets out a chuckle.
Lapis felt rather complimented for a moment. That is until she recalled what happened prior to her poofing. “Wait…where is Peridot…?”
Bismuth reverts back to being solemn in her expression. “Oh, right.” She says. “It’s ashamed that you guys didn’t really come out at the same time, huh…”
Both of the gems look back onto the sofa to see the lonely green gem surrounded by petite cushions. Lapis’ pupils shrunk and hauled a gasp of panic. She hurries to kneel onto the floor and pick up Peridot’s gem with her hands trembling out of nowhere. “Oh gosh…Yellow hurt us…And I let it happen…” she says. “I could have regenerated in time to punish her for this…Peridot, I’m so sorry.”
The rainbow haired gem sat back down on the sofa and grasped Lapis’ shoulder for comfort. She hears the ocean gem utter again with her head sinking, pressing the gem onto her forehead and her eyes shut close. “I didn’t mean to fail you again.” Lapis said softly.
“Heya c’mon…don’t worry, she’ll be fine.” She says. “I mean, yeah she’s taking a lot of time in there but, who knows? Probably just picking out a new dress or something.”
But the blue gem barely listens. “I hope the other gems aren’t in the same shoes right now...”
…Better time than ever, she supposed. Her hand withdraws to cross her fingers manneredly, preparing to break the news in the briefest way possible to an already alarmed gem.
“Okay…let’s talk bismuth, Lapis Lazuli…” she says. “The Diamonds are crazy strong. One zap from Yellow Diamond and you’ll have a hard time trying to come back out in a day, even if you tried…Secondly, Steven tamed the diamonds pretty well after you and Peri there poofed. And this might sound crazy but, it’s been a long week since they went on this mission to Homeworld but some serious bismuth happened with the gems. So it’s up to us to help them out.”
As if worrying about Peridot’s condition wasn’t already alarming, Lapis tried not to process Bismuth’s news so heavily. She knew her own strength, and she convinced herself that she was primed enough to go to Homeworld and beat up anybody hurting Steven again. “In that case, I’m willing to join in on saving them…again.” She says. “But we’re obviously not leaving without Peridot. We’re gonna need her. At least I need her…”
It was hard trying to get her eyes off of Peridot’s gem in her hand. Even if Bismuth could raise more points to excuse her ordeals, the guilt of being too neglectful of her former roommate during her arrival was slowly suffocating her. She thought she would have known better than to let the smaller gem stand up first against Yellow Diamond after the first battle. She thought she had already discarded all of her anguish onto anything after her time on the moon. The ocean gem heaved a deep sigh, tightening her grip onto Peridot’s gem. She wished she could have been the one to regenerate last.
“Bismuth,” she says. “I hope you don’t mind this but, I think I want to be left alone with Peridot for a while…”
Thankfully, the blacksmith did not question her command so briskly. “It’s fine, I gotcha.” She says. “The house isn’t going to fix itself either anyway. C’mon Pumpkin, we’ll come back in a bit.”
“No, wait. Pumpkin should stay.” Lapis insists. “If Peridot’s going to wake up later, I want her to be reunited with…” her statement cuts off, hesitating to finish without breaking a tear. “…her family...”
 ….. …… …… …… …… …… ……..
The sofa was still integral as Peridot’s gem continued to lay lifelessly, surrounded by a sleeping Pumpkin and Lapis sitting down with her legs crossed. Her patience could reach its limits any time now. The sun had already set and the sound of Bismuth smacking her shapeshifted-hammer onto piles of wood was fairly nerve-racking. Her hands travel through her coarse hair, grumbling with ever-growing dismay in her tone. She didn’t want to have one more glimpse of the green gem next to her, but it was all she could do. She hoped that at least SOONER OR LATER, the green hue will resonate out of it…
“Peridot…?” she says. “I don’t what’s going on in there, or if you can hear me, but I just want you to know that…I missed you a lot.”
Her hand reaches for the green gem once more and nests Peridot on her palms. A grin stretches over her face, trying to imagine looking at Peridot’s eyes through her visors instead. She imagined having to feel the blonde gem’s tiny hands intertwining through hers and bringing her nearer for an embrace.
“I have a lot to tell about how outer space and the moon were like…” she says and raises her head up on the busted ceiling. “You and Pumpkin should’ve seen it…it was boring, quiet, and awful lot of stars for me to fly through. It would have been nice to enjoy that freedom if…if it wasn’t so lonely…”
Her smile completely fades when she envisions every frantic expression on the green gem that she has seen before. More decisively, the ones that she caused for her to have. She swore that this would be the last time she would have to turn back to looking at Peridot’s gem. If she had to, she wanted her to be the only thing her vision would lock onto until she regenerates. “…I shouldn’t have left if I knew I was just going to come back to fight…” she says. “Now our barn is gone, Steven’s house is destroyed…And he and the others are counting on us to save them in Homeworld. I can’t deal with all this alone, Peridot. I need you out of there so I can embrace you the way I wanted to do when I arrived…”
Lapis didn’t think that far ahead about what would happen when Peridot finished regenerating. Would the two be euphoric to see each other? Will disappointment resonate out of Peridot for Lapis to be ashamed by? Predicting their future was somehow more painful than sitting around waiting for it to happen, and the ocean gem could feel every bit of that pain growing over her mind.
“Please, I just want my Peri back…” she says before bringing the gem closer to her face. A soft kiss lingers on Peridot for well over a second. But to her surprise, it didn’t do the trick…She finally puts the gem back around the couch pillows and in front of Pumpkin, willing to wait by means of a nap. She lies down on her side and attempts to get comfortable on the sofa. It didn’t feel the same as slumbering on a hammock, but it was the one thing she could tolerate for the time being.
“I love you.” She utters one last time.
 ….. …… …… ……. …… ……..
Midnight hours had finally struck. The blue gem was out cold from her nap, making the whole barn family asleep in one setting. At least, it stayed that way for as long as it had to.
Peridot’s gem began to glow brightly in light green hue. The instances from when Bismuth got to see Lapis reform was repeating up to this point. Her gem ascended off of its surface and upsurge the physique of a person slouching forward. Before long, Peridot stopped radiating light, revealing her intensely changed look. Pumpkin wakes up to her reformation and peeps at the small gem standing on the couch cushions. She immediately gets up and barks loudly at her to grab her attention.
“…Pumpkin?” the blonde gem inquires. The orange dog jumps high up for Peridot to catch her safely and receive continual licks from her. “D’aww. What are ya doing here…? I’m supposed to be fighting off the Diamonds right----“
Finding herself in Steven’s living room caught her off guard. She lets Pumpkin bounce back to the floor for her to route everything correctly. She gets off the couch and heads to the center of the house. No fighting seemed to be happening out on the beach. If anything, she felt bad that it looked she just missed out on a fight…The shock from Yellow Diamond gave her the mood to retaliate even more and she wasn’t going to miss her shot one more time.
“Hello…?!” she exclaims. “Steven?! Amethyst?! Where is everybody? I thought the Cluster destroyed the house…”
As luck may have it, the ocean gem stirs awake. Her hands rub her eyes at the same time of getting up. She didn’t expect that anything could have woken her up, but her vision began to clear forward. A familiar voice was perceived. “…Lapis?” she hears. She felt her chest explode, a sensation that made her want to cry. It couldn’t be…She gawks over the kitchen to see the petite gem standing still and staring back at her.
“Woah…Lapis.” Peridot says exhilarated. “You…you look…amazing.”
All she could feel apart from astonishment was being perplexed to Lapis slowly walking towards her. Suddenly, Lapis wraps her around in an embrace, the warmth of her arms causes the petite gem to hug back and close her eyes as they both cosset to their feel. The feeling was so lost but still very much at home with. Peridot breaks a tear before her old roommate does. She couldn’t believe this was happening so precipitously.
“You’re okay…” Lapis says softly.
“And you’re here…” Peridot retorts.
They both pull back but still remained grasping on each other. Lapis wipes Peridot’s tear dripping down her grin, as the blonde gem runs her hand through her check and up to her hair. It didn’t take long for their eyes to lock onto one another and feel their eyes water from overwhelm. Peridot inches closer, slowly pressing her lips onto Lapis’. The ocean gem immediately submits and lets their kiss last for a minute turning into an eternity. The feel of both their caress made the two glow a darker shade of blue and green and harder for them to breathe. All their regrets and confusion were set aside to bring back what it was like to have each other face to face, before everything went down for the worse.
Their heads bump gently once they let go. They take a moment to sit down so they could calmly acknowledge their presence. Pumpkin then rushes towards their laps and nests herself on her newly reformed parents. They both lay their hands on top of her, chuckling out of pure relief that it only took a quick moment to reunite their whole family.
“Lapis…we missed you so much.”
“I did too…”

There're enough talks about the Garnet wedding (YES, THAT IS THE CORRECT SHIP NAME) and the Diamonds drama. I have nothing to say about these subjects except that I was as psyched as everyone else and that the crewniverse had really done a bang-up job with the newest episode.
I wanna talk about Lapidot, instead.
There's gonna be a Lapidot arc upcoming, I'm sure of that.
I mean, look at the reaction Peridot had to Lapis's return.
She was happy to see her, of course, but her reaction wasn't nearly as pure as Steven's. While Steven just rushed in and threw Lapis a welcome-back hug, Peridot was falling behind, looking somewhat hesitated. There's this little uncertainty in her approach which was highlighted by Steven's reaction.
The smile on her face when she was watching Lapis and Steven hug seemed more of  a bitter-sweet than just a simple gratified one to me. I think it's quite clear that she hadn't just "instantly let go of everything and thought everything is good again the moment she saw Lapis's back". She's having some conflicted feelings about this and she'll need to work stuffs through with Lapis before they could move on.
They'll talk things out.
It's unlike SU to leave this sort of emotional conflict unsolved. And once they do, it'll only bring both their personal developments and their relationship to a new stage.
We have yet to see either of them express their whole thoughts and feelings because they're in the middle of fighting the Diamonds, so it's pretty much guaranteed that this topic will only be addressed later when there’s actually some time for them.
And I imagine it will be something like this--
Lapis, noticed Peridot seemed to be troubled and realized she is the reason.
Lapis: ...Peridot. Are you...mad at me?
Peridot, turns to her hesitantly.
Lapis: (*immediately turning away and hugging herself in frustration) --Ugh! What am I saying? Of course you're mad. I'll be mad if I was you. What am I expecting? That you'll be happy to see me!?
Peridot, reaching out to Lapis but drops her hand before she could make contact.
Peridot: I'm not mad. I am happy to see you.
Lapis: ...Peridot...are you lying again?
Peridot: I'm not lying!
Lapis: (*suspiciously)...Are you lying about not lying to protect my feeling?
Peridot: (*Yells out) NO!
Lapis: (*Yells back because she was confused and frustrated and doesn't know what to do) BUT YOU DON'T LOOK HAPPY!
Lapis: --If you say you're happy when you're not happy, that's lying!
Peridot: (*snaps and startled Lapis with her roar) ARGHHH!
Peridot: --I didn't lie about being happy, you clod! I AM happy to see you! I just--I just couldn't stop thinking about everything! You left, Lapis! I thought we could protect our home together! I believed in us! But you left and you took our home away! I know you're scared but it still hurts! I thought I had lost you forever! But now you're back and you dropped the barn onto a Diamond's head!?  We used to live in there as roommates! Now the barn is gone, what are we supposed to be!? Where are we going to live now when the barn is gone!? Are you going to move in to the temple with me!? Are we going to live in the bathroom together!? COULD THE BATHROOM FIT THE BOTH OF US!?
Lapis, stared blankly at Peridot while she's taking a break.
Lapis, bursts out with her little laugh.
Peridot: This isn't funny!
Lapis (trying to contain her laughter): Sorry.
Peridot, looking pissed.
Lapis, looks at Peridot with a soft smile.
Lapis: ...I miss you, Peridot.
Peridot, stunned before getting deflated completely.
Peridot: ...Where are we going to be now, Lapis? We can't go back now. Eveything is...different now.
Lapis: I don't know, Peridot. (*slowly reaching out a hand to touch Peridot in her shoulder)
Lapis: But I want to figure it out. Here. Together. We CAN figure it out. You're brave to stay, and I want to be brave like you. I want to be brave, with you.
--Okay, the last part probably gets a bit too slashy, but it's SU, so who knows, I might be not being slashy enough.
In my mind, they fuse the moment they touch hands.
I’m 90% sure there’ll be Lapidot fusion in a future episode. But if there hasn’t, that’s fine. I can take a little disappointment, I’ve had worst. lol
One way or the other, there’ll be a Lapidot arc. That’s a fact, dudes.

Note
Do you think lapidot will constroy a new bsrn, or they will live in the temple now?
I think they will build a new barn, symbollically showing how they’re rebuilding thier relationship, as well. :P But maybe they’ll live on the beach like Steven suggested, or at least visit more and go on more missions.
