CG! Stanley Pines Headcanons!
Inspired by @lttl3babybug ‘s Cg! Stanford hcs :)
Tumblr media
💰 Always happy to pull you onto his lap, often when he’s watching TV. He’ll involve you in what he was watching and explain things as they happen, making funny jokes and observations to make you laugh.
💰 Pets names such as “sweetie”, “pumpkin” and “kiddo”
💰 Involves you in his schemes, like letting you glue random appendages and horns to old taxidermy’s for new mystery shack attractions.
💰 Deathly protective, If somebody does anything to you or hurts your feelings he will hunt them down.
💰 Not really the best role model, if he catches you being naughty he’ll probably join you or at least help you cover it up before Ford finds out. (He is a CG that will lay down the rules)
💰 agrees to playing and games but ends up regretting it as it usually ends with him covered in makeup, glitter and a sore back. (From having to sit down on the ground to join a tea party)
💰 The only time he has would get serious and firm is if you were putting yourself in unsafe situations or being too reckless. It’s not much anger, it’s just the possibility of you being in danger scares him too much.
💰 Story time is much more fun with Grunkle Stan, often when he’s presented with a picture book he will attempt to read it. But he finds them a bit boring and sickeningly sweet, so he’ll add his own twists to the plot and characters to make you laugh.
💰 Always sneaking you little treats and candy, and conveniently leaving your sugar rush fuelled chaos to somebody else. (Usually poor Ford)
💰 If you hand him a piece of artwork, a response usually something like. “Wow! This is terrible. I can sell this.”
💰 He can’t do it for too long with his back, but he loves hitching you up onto his hip around the house and carrying you up to bed.
💰 Creates the BEST blanket forts, setting them up around his armchair so you can watch movies and cuddle up with snacks.
💰 If you fall over or hurt yourself he’ll be right over with a hug and bandaids. Letting you pick which ones you want and congratulating you on how brave you are, his tough kid.

Heya folks! I'm Lin! Some of you may know me as the author of a humble Zeldas-meet comic series called the Wielders of Wisdom, part of my larger Zelda AU called Wisdomverse.
Every creator has different views on how content should be interpreted, and I figure I should make mine clear for folks who are interested, as well as clarify some things about the Wisdomverse and the history of its creation and influences. These are just some of my thoughts on the series and fandom as a whole with respect to my comics; I'm taking this opportunity to state them in text form.
Extremely, extremely long post. Folks who know me know I like writing longposts-- this is even longer. You have been warned!
Please feel free to read or ignore as you wish— if you’re here for my artwork, no worries! And if you’d like, there’s a tl;dr section at the end; please feel free to skip to it.
As always, I reserve the right to edit parts of this if my views change, or if I'm convinced otherwise. And as always, I welcome everyone else’s thoughts on the matter.
Why I Create:
I began the Wisdomverse because I love the Zelda series.
I've been a Zelda fan for nearly twenty years now, and have completed every single mainline game, plus a fair few of the others, and 100%ed a few of them or played challenge modes as well. The Zelda series has its flaws and it definitely has some inconsistencies. But each new game continues to amaze me nonetheless.
Wielders of Wisdom, part of the Wisdomverse AU, is a comic series that features the Zeldas summoning each other to help deal with different problems in their own eras. As a tactical RPG superfan (FE!!! TriStrat!!!) and a huge fan of fairplay mystery plots, I wanted to write a story featuring Wisdom at its core. I've now been working on the Wisdomverse off and on for about two years, maybe a little more, though theories and characterizations from much longer ago have made it in.
I am super glad that my comic has brought people to Zelda. It’s so cool to hear that people started playing the games because they saw my artwork.
I have a story I want to share, and mysteries I want the characters to solve. I look forward to continuing it.
The Influence of LU
On one hand, the Wisdomverse began as an LU spinoff.
I created the Wielders with the LU Chain in mind— not necessarily based on LU canon, but based on mine and others’ versions of the Chain at the time using our interpretations of the Zelda games themselves as source material. The core characterizations of LU are brilliant, and I love them— particularly the combination of Links that make up Legend and Four. I had seen Link-meets before, but combining Links was a novel idea to me. It allowed me to express my love for the lesser known Zelda games just as much as the popular ones.
And folks, LU sparked so much Zelda fan content, which was difficult to find at scale before. I was there in the old-ish days (not the truly old days, I must admit), writing Zelda fanfic and reading it on FFnet (under a different username which shall not be named 😆). LU made it so much easier! The comic is great too, but the framework revitalized my love of the Zelda fandom.
My characters in Wisdomverse still use the LU fanon Zelda nicknames as a tribute to all of us LU fans out there. I came up with everything else about the girls, but not their nicknames. I was there for the tail end of those discussions, and adopted the nicknames because I can't see the Zeldas any other way now. I can, of course, explain why we chose each and every one of those nicknames. But the nicknames do not belong to me; nor to the creator of LU. They are a creation of the LU fandom. Shoutout to those guys, y'all are great.
Characters of my Own
On the other hand, I… have actually seen folks assume that all my work in personalizing the Zeldas for my comics, writing their characters, rebalancing and clarifying their powers and abilities, setting up their stories, and designing their outfits and jobs to make them as unique as possible— that this was all done by the creator of LU as well. I have been sent angry and confused DMs because I made certain decisions, like making Tetra and Phantom different characters, like they are in the canon games, despite Wind also representing Spirit Tracks in LU. Or making Legend and Fable twins when Jojo confirmed they’re not related in LU— ironic, considering that it seems to be the opposite sentiment that sparked the newer discourse. This is actually why I made that info post about it a year or two back, if anyone is wondering.
These assumptions were a little sad to see, of course. I understand the frustration when one's work is attributed to someone else. I wasn't really offended by the mistake, though. It is reasonable, in a fandom as large as Zelda, for ideas to be misattributed. Most folks understood completely when I corrected them. The ones that didn't, I simply ignored.
Fans
In fact, in my experience, LU fans have almost always been super polite and excited to learn new things about the franchise, or learn new headcanons and ways to connect the dots between canon elements. Writing “The Secrets We Keep” is a lot of fun, because I know quite a lot about the games, and I get to work it into the story and hear people go, “Oh, I didn’t know that! And you’ve connected these two things? That’s so cool!” I love getting to see that side of the fandom.
Many LU fans I’ve met also know a ton about the franchise— I never thought I could learn so many new things about a series I already know very well! From glitches and exploits to theories about the origin of weapons and materials; I love hearing it. Some of it has been incorporated into Wisdomverse :) (but not the glitches and exploits; that would be cheating XD).
As I said, the very few folks that were rude, I ignored. That’s to be expected in any group of people.
Building on Others’ Ideas
I myself have used headcanons that belong to other people. Shoutout to raycatzdraws and snowylynxxx for their Spirit design that I iterated on. I definitely wasn’t the originator of the Legend|Fable siblings hc, or the hc that Wild had a sister, etc. Of course, I know the reasons and canon source material for all those hcs. But I no longer know who first connected the dots to come up with them.
Fandom is hard to source. Heck, I’ve seen some people who came to Wisdomverse through other sites assume that I created LU (of course I did not). One commenter on a YouTube video even assumed that Fable’s Cane of Somaria from the Wisdomverse was inspiration for the trirod in the actual Echoes of Wisdom game. (I wish! The Cane is simply a canon item from ALttP/OoA; I promise I had no hand in EoW’s development). Such is the way of life in a convoluted fandom. Ray said it best in a comment somewhere I still remember— we’re all out here playing a game of fandom telephone.
Fandom Telephone
As I’ve been saying for years on stream, that’s one of the things I like best about the Zelda fandom: the fact that there are so many interpretations of everything, and all of us build on each others’ work. The Silmarillion and MDZS fandoms are the same way (shoutout to fandoms where the source material contradicts itself and fans interpret things however they want 😆). Unlike in a normal game of telephone, however, the result at the end of the line is still just as valid as the original message. It’s about creativity, not accuracy. A game of telephone is boring as hell if everyone just perfectly repeats the initial phrase. Variety is the spice of creation.
I personally prefer intentional variety based on interpretations of the games' canon. In fact, I tend to stick as close to canon as possible while telling the story I want to tell. Folks who've read The Secrets We Keep are probably used to my long Game Notes for each chapter.
But accidental variety works too! You don’t have to stick to canon if you don't want to! And no one at all should be enforcing that.
Gatekeeping
I've finished every mainline Zelda game. I have 100%ed many of them, and played some on challenge modes. I know all popular timeline theories by heart, including of course my own timeline for Wisdomverse. I can probably list the titles, release years, and consoles of most Zelda games, plus tons of other useless trivia. To be clear, I knew most of this before discovering LU.
I’d like to think I’m therefore qualified to say: let everyone write or draw or play what they want!
You are still a fan if the only Zelda game you’ve played is Breath of the Wild! You are still a fan if you’ve never played a Zelda game and just love LU! You are still a fan if you’ve never read LU either and are just vibin’ with the characters on AO3! You are still a fan if you don’t know what LU is but think the Wisdomverse girls are cool!
You can check my old posts to confirm that I’ve said this over and over again— I ain’t here to gatekeep the Zelda fandom. No one should be. There is no excuse for anyone to belittle someone for not knowing a detail about the games. Or for having a particular viewpoint on the series. The Zelda fandom has always been a wholesome place, and I know we can keep it that way.
And since tons of Zelda and LU fans are just as knowledgeable about the series as me, if not more, I’m sure all of us are happy to tell folks anything they’d like to know— only if they want to know it, because there should never be requirements to be in a fandom.
Perhaps because I’m from the Silm fandom, I am used to this sentiment. I’ve read the Silmarillion four times, but tons of folks just read the wiki pages or fics and are totally accepted into the fandom. I personally believe Zelda— any fandom, really — should be just as open and free.
Is Wisdomverse still a part of LU?
People have been asking me this for a while. I’ve responded to it in the past, but my answer may have changed slightly.
LU is a great story, and I have to give Jojo massive credit for the amazing framework, designs, and characterization. The core characters that make up the LU Links still match the Wis Zeldas, of course, and The Secrets We Keep is still very much continuing starring the LU Links as I envision them.
But many things about the Wisdomverse have deviated from LU canon now— not because I have changed them, but because I adopted these traits into my stories long before Jojo clarified them about her Links. At this point, the Wisdomverse Info page clarifies all theories that differ from the games themselves, not just LU. Jojo has made decisions that fit the story she wants to tell, and I have made different ones that fit my story.
In Wisdomverse, Spirit and Phantom exist separately from Tetra and Wind, like in Zelda canon. Shadow and the FSA manga are also canon, because the plot fits neatly into Four's character arc in the games. TotK is canon; I have already released my future Wild and Flora designs. The events of Hyrule Warriors are canon. The visiting Links that accompanied Legend in Triforce Heroes are Silent and Hyrule. Legend and Fable are twins, because I follow the ALttP siblings theory. And my comic Echo of the Past has made it quite clear that Echoes of Wisdom and Cadence of Hyrule are canon as well, and I have plans for them :).
There are probably more changes as well; these are the ones I can remember off the top of my head. As far as I know, none of these things are true anymore in base LU.
Some of these changes were imposed to make my series more accurate to the games. Some of them were imposed because that was how I viewed the series, long before LU even existed. And some of them were imposed so I can tell the story I want to tell.
Tagging
I have been using “wis sun” “wis echo” “wisdomverse” “wielders of wisdom” etc tags for my stuff for a while now.
Echo of the Past, for example, is entirely my own thing, and has no LU influence or characters whatsoever. The idea to combine EoW, CoH, and AoL into Echo was mine and mine alone. Silent, Echo, Dawn, and the Prince are all my characters, and are using my designs and personalities. I don’t think that counts as LU anymore, so I removed all the LU tags when posting. I don’t mind if you want to tag it as LU when reblogging, though! From a practical standpoint, that only helps me out XD.
To be clear, when I use the LU Link designs, I will still tag the post with their info. The creator deserves credit for their design, and folks who chance upon the art deserve to know I did not create the LU Links.
This means that I am possibly the one creator that isn’t technically writing/drawing LU but is kind of okay with my posts being tagged as LU.
But please also tag them as Wisdomverse. I put a lot of work into my characters. I want people to know that.
And please don't tag other creators' works as Linked Universe. I allow it at the moment because of the specifics of the Wisdomverse, and the fact that I want to credit LU for the nine Link designs I'm using along with my Zeldas. I don't think any other creators with separate AUs allow this.
Building off of my Works
That said, I hope no one feels like I am imposing my views over the LU characters— or even my Zeldas.
I stated that I view Dusk as ace, for example, and that Fable is lesbian. But if you want to use the Wisdomverse framework, summoning system, and characterization while shipping Dusk with Midna, or Fable with Legend or something, be my guest!
I personally don’t mind anyone interpreting my characters in any way as long as you’re aware that I believe differently. I may even state that I personally disagree with that part of the interpretation, but that’s totally fine! Do what you wish! If you were inspired by me, feel free to tag me— I love it. Other creators may not share this opinion, and that is also completely valid, but I love to see people build on my ideas, even if they’re taking their own spin on it.
I only ask that folks don’t directly ship the Zeldas with each other, because no matter what canon you’re using, they’re all direct descendants of each other, and that… gets a bit icky. I actually personally don't mind Linkcest (not a fan, but not opposed to it), but the LU creator has requested that folks don't ship their Links and I respect that. I guess if you want to ship the Links that I designed: Spirit, Silent, or post-TotK Wild... go for it? I obviously ship those three with their Zeldas, but I ain't about to stop folks from making a really, really strange crackship XD.
TL;DR
Can’t deny the massive influence LU has had on the Zelda fandom as a whole. I appreciate it!
However, it is a bit sad to see my ideas credited to LU sometimes.
The Wisdomverse has deviated quite a bit from LU at this point, and is sort of its own thing that sometimes uses the LU designs and characterizations for the Links. 2.5/11 Links in Wis use my own designs. All 11 Zeldas use my own designs.
I don’t mind if you tag Wis content as LU when applicable! Please also tag it as Wisdomverse though— I’d appreciate that :).
LU fans have almost always been very knowledgeable and polite to me in the past. Shoutout to the LU fandom. Y’all are great.
Anyone who wants can be a Zelda fan! No gameplay required, and no gatekeeping allowed.
Anyone who wants can make fan content interpreting my work in any way; I will not be offended!
The Zelda community has always been a wholesome place to me, and I hope to see it continue that way.
Congrats on making it this far— or for skipping to the tl;dr’s :).
Thanks for reading, and see you around!

The Ultimate Universe Falls Starter Guide!
Tumblr media
Hey, you! You, reading this post! Have you heard about a fun little Gravity Falls/Steven Universe crossover fanfiction known as Universe Falls? Well now you have! Welcome to the club! This post is meant to introduce you to all things there is to know Universe Falls in one conscise place. Keep in mind that this post assues that you already are fully familiar with the plot and characters of each show individually, and will only really cover fic-specific things.
Now those of you who are already familiar with UF may be wondering, Jen, what is this post? Well, its mostly meant to be an introductory guide to help folks who stumble across my blog and may be interested in checking UF out, but are initially indimidated by it for whatever reason. It'll broadly introduce terms and concepts and characters unique to the fic, as well as connect you with valuable rescources to get the most out of all of the UF content there is to consume. So with that intro out of the way, let's get started!
What the Heck Is a Universe Falls Anyway?
Universe Falls is a silly idea I had back in 2015 (that's right, 10 years ago!) that aimed to combine the plots of Gravity Falls and Steven Universe into one narrative. The basic gist is that instead of settling in Beach City back in the day, the Crystal Gems make their base in Gravity Falls, intruiged by all of the strange creatures that live there. Hence we have Steven and Connie, who already live there, meeting and befriending Dipper and Mabel (who are spending the summer with their Grunkle Stan) to form a group fondly referred to as the Mystery Kids. Throughout the summer, they experience plenty of adventures, perils, life-lessons, and maybe even save the world a few times. You know, normal kid stuff. Mix in all of your favorite GF and SU characters, and you have a unique blend of the stories of both shows, melded together to create something that's both a little familiar and a little new, with plenty of unexpected twists along the way.
Vibe Check Time! What Can I expect?
When it comes to UF, you can expect... pretty much anything tbh. From tooth rotting fluff to the most devestating angst you've ever read, UF kinda covers it all. It has plenty of lighthearted, fun moments towards the beginning, but as we go along, things start to gradually get darker (much like they do in the canon of both shows). I will say, this fic is rated T for a reason, and its tags on Ao3 are fairly accurate. The main ones I should point out are harm to children, blood/violence, and emotional trauma. Generally though, I do try to keep to the vibes of both of the shows UF is based on, so that's mostly what you can expect.
Wait, Didn't You Already Write This Fic?
I did, again ten years ago. I stopped working on it around 4 years ago, largely due to burnout and a variety of other factors. But with the revival of the GF fandom thanks to the Book of Bill, I was struck with the inspiration to pick the fic up again last year! Hence we have what I refer to as "New UF". New UF is a revised version of the OG fic, rewritten from the ground up with a lot of the fat trimmed from it. I'm trying to get to major plot and character points as quickly as possible, so some might feel it has something of a quick pace, but I think it's just right, really, to keep the fic from feeling like its dragging its feet the same way it used to. New UF has frequent updates, each with their own accompanying artwork, so you can not only expect new content to read, but new content to feast your eyes upon too! A win win for everyone! (BTW before you ask, the original UF is still up; you can read it if you want, but I wouldn't encourage it. It's kind of a mess writing-style wise).
UF? UF2? UFF? Why so many UFs?
If you stick around my blog for any extent of time, you may hear the terms UF2 and UFF thrown around. UF2 stands for Universe Falls 2, UF's eventual sequel covering the second summer after UF. As UF1 ends after the events of Weirdmageddon on the GF side and roughly around the beginning of season 4 on the SU side, we still actually have a lot of ground to cover, and that's where UF2 comes in. Granted, since I'll be out of GF content to adapt by then, there's going to be a lot of really interesting original content that comes into play to look forward too, along with the rest of SU. UFF stands for Universe Falls Future, a sequel series set two years after the events of UF2 which covers the events of Steven Universe Future, but again, has plenty of original content of its own to balance things out. At the time of this writing, neither UF2 or UFF have been written yet, but rest assured I have both pretty much planned out completely from beginning to end because I'm just unhinged like that.
"Seasons"? Bitch, this is a fanfic, not a TV show.
I know lol. So let me explain. I categorize chunks of UF into what I like to call "seasons", mostly to keep myself on track. They don't really mean anything outside of various bundles of chapters that are close together. For instance, Season 1 or S1 of UF is everything from the start of the fic up to Mirror Gem and Waterfall Gem. S2 is everything from Irrational Treasure to Gideon Rises. And so on and so fourth. You can check out the full season list, and a full (semi correct bc its kinda always changing) UF chapter list here on the official UF wiki (btw, we have a Wiki).
Who are all these Blorbos?
So while UF mainly focuses on actual canon characters from both shows, it does have a small handful of original characters in more minor roles to flesh things out. You'll likely hear some of their names thrown out from time to time, so here are the major ones you need to remember:
Stepper and Maven: My babies! These two are probably pretty obvious, but Stepper is the fusion of Steven and Dipper and Maven is the fusion of Steven and Mabel. They both show up a handful of times throughout UF and I love them both dearly.
Dipevebel, Convenper, and Mabonnven: The "trifusions" as I like to call them. They're vairious combo fusions of our four Mystery kids (or MK): Dipevebel is Steven, Dipper, and Mabel; Convenber is Steven, Dipper, and Connie, and Mabonnven is Steven, Connie, and Mabel. We also have Stonipbel, who is the fusion between all four of them.
Aaron and Allison Pines: Dipper and Mabel's parents. We know nothing about these characters in canon, but fuck it, this is my house and I do what I want with them, so we have Aaron, who is kind of a bit of an anxious loser and a bit emotionally absent (while still caring about his kids) and Allison, who is super strict and kind of not the nicest person in the world. They're mentioned a handful of times in UF, but they don't actually show up until towards the end of UF2.
Stonemason: OK so this one requires a bit of an explaination and a bit of UF2 spoilers, so feel free to skip if you need to. The best way I can sum him up is to quote the UF wiki: Stonemason is a cybernetically enhanced human assassin created by Yellow Diamond with assistance from Bill Cipher. The first and only successful product of the Human Bioweapon Operation, Stonemason is a separate entity that is implanted in Dipper's mind, taking control of his body to undertake his orders to shatter "Rose Quartz" (aka). Stonemason makes his debut in Universe Falls 2, where he is a major antagonist for a majority of the fic." So yeah that's a lot, and if you have any questions about that, feel free to ask. Also, all that ^^^ is why Dipper has a yellow metal arm following the halfway point of UF2 in all art I draw post that point, basically his arm was amputated and replaced with a shapeshifting metal one. Ya know, like ya do.
Amber: Amber is a Gem who is related to the whole Stonemason arc mentioned above. She's created to basically be a nurse to humans in Yellow Diamond's human bioweapon program, and eventually ends up developing a close bond with Dipper, despite her assignment.
You mean these MK Poly? I sure do
Ok, so shipping is dumb. I think we can all agree on that right? Buuuuut it does lead to some pretty interesting character dynamics, hence why we see a little of it in UF. Namely between our starring kiddos. Before I continue let me make it extremely clear that there is no incestuous content of any kind in Universe Falls, that shit is fucking gross and I won't tolerate anyone claiming that I engage in that, cause I don't. As for the actual poly MK ship, essentially, its that all these kids (save for the twins, obviously) are in love with each other. So we get Steven x Connie, but also Steven x Dipper (Stedip), Steven x Mabel (Stebel), Connie x Mabel (Conbel), Connie x Dipper (Conper) and eventually even Pacifica joins the polycule too so there's really a lot of fun dynamics to be explored in there. Idk ya'll don't get too hung up on the shipping element here. Love is love.
AUs of AUs? That's a Bit Redundant don't ya think?
Maybe so. But Universe Falls does have a whole host of Alternate Universes to its made, some made by me, some made by fans and my friends. The main UF AUS are Reverse/Diamond, Swap AU, and Relativity/Gem Kids, but there's plenty more you can read up on here on the AU page over on the wiki.
Nice Art, you ask a fuckass AI to make it?
Absolutely not. All my art is drawn by yours truly. You can look through my past works here on my blog using the tag "Jen Draws" or check out my DeviantArt page.
How do I solve those Goddamn Codes?
Each chapter of UF has a cryptogram to accompany it, mostly just meant to carry the spirit of Gravity Falls and do some fun references and foreshadowing. Every code in new UF can be decoded using a keyword that's found somewhere in the author's notes at the start of each chapter, usually the word relates back to the chapter itself. As a bonus hint, this is the website I use to create all my codes, and you can decode them there as well: https://themysteryofgravityfalls.com/
Cool stuff. Where can I read this thing/learn more?
This is the part where I mostly just list off a bunch of helpful links and such for folks who want to read/explore UF. Starting with, where you can read it! I post all new chapters here on tumblr, but UF's main home is on Ao3 (though I do still crosspost to FanFiction.net for some goddamn reason). The links to the fic itself are listed below:
Universe Falls on Ao3
Universe Falls on FanFiction.net
You can also read up on all of the hot UF lore on the official wiki! Please note that this wiki is still very much a work in progress, and if you want to help us build it, please feel free to!
You can also check out my Discord server for more exclusive UF content and conversations! This is honestly the best place to check out all things UF, especially to get a pulse on what fans are creating surrounding the fic. I won't post the link here bc Discord links expire, but if you're interested in joining up, please PM for an invite!
Aw, we're already done? But I got even more questions!
Then feel free to hit up my inbox! It's always open and I'm always down to discuss UF with ya'll. With all that said, if you do decide to check UF out, I sincerely, wholeheartedly hope you enjoy it (and I hope it overtakes your every waking thought the same way it has mine lmao)

Whether you’re a group of local heroes sent to investigate mysterious goings-on in the nearby haunted wood, or famous mercenaries plotting and scheming in the big city, the MCDM RPG makes building adventures and fighting monsters fun. Basically, any adventure or story you’re running in your current Fantasy RPG, you can do that in this game. Just, in a more straightforward and fun way, unburdened by sacred cows from the 1970s.

3) Daggerheart (Darrington Press) Daggerheart is a fantasy tabletop roleplaying game of brave heroics and vibrant worlds that are built together with your gaming group. Create a shared story with your adventuring party, and shape your world through rich, long-term campaign play.

2) Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere (Brotherwise Games) The Cosmere® RPG is a "living" RPG that will grow as Brandon Sanderson writes new novels and expands his universe. 1) Legend in the Mist (Son of Oak) A rustic fantasy tabletop RPG based on the acclaimed City of Mist. Spin a fireside tale of unlikely villagers setting out on a quest into a greater unknown world, rife with peril and mystery, in the vein of The Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time, Princess Mononoke, and many other classic fantasy stories, or create your own legendary realms with the game’s open-ended system.

The Doctrine of Perseverance Plot Summary and Main Characters Reveal
Tumblr media
Story
The city of Noxton takes its name from one of the eight founding families, the Noxton family. Renowned publicly for their contributions to the city, privately, they are linked to the mysterious 'Drift.' Tragedy strikes the family on Melrose Noxton’s thirteenth birthday, marked by a horrific house fire following the appearance of the titular doctrine in the guesthouse. Three years later, the mystery remains unsolved, and life seemingly moves on, but not for Melrose – she remembers everything.
This story unfolds on Melrose’s sixteenth birthday, where you will uncover the inescapable horrors of the doctrine, unravel the secrets of the Noxton family, and confront the spirits of the 'Drift' that relentlessly seek to butcher anyone in their path. Happy Birthday, Melrose.
Main Characters
Tumblr media
An old soul and reserved girl. Her birthday serves as a haunting reminder of the house fire and acts as the catalyst for the story.
Tumblr media
A mischievous girl with a cheerful exterior. She is a close friend of Melrose and Dace’s daughter.
Tumblr media
An unfiltered and hot-headed boy. His family harbors distrust towards the ‘founding families' in the city of Noxton.
Tumblr media
A well-mannered and intelligent boy, slated to be the next head of the Noxton family. He is the son of Josie and Klaas, and also Melrose’s cousin.
Tumblr media
An introverted and inquisitive boy. He is Melrose’s childhood friend and is from another founding family, the Skallow family.
Tumblr media
A calm and warmhearted woman. She is Melrose's aunt and Milton's mom. Her and Florence were in a state of no contact for years prior to the fire.
Tumblr media
A composed and educated man, he is Suzetta's dad and a long-time close friend of Florence before the fire. He works for the Noxton Police Department.
Tumblr media
A brisk and 'rough around the edges' kind of man, he is the current head of the Noxton family and the uncle of Melrose and Milton.
Tumblr media
A diligent and zestful man, he is Milton's dad and works for the Noxton Police Department.
Developer's Note
Bios and artwork are subject to change before the final release of the game, and this post may be updated.
I currently have about an hour of content done, this is with all of the dialogue, and knowledge on how to proceed in-game. I imagine it'll be longer for new players. Currently working on the next portion. I'm hoping to have chapter zero available to play early 2024 on RMN, Steam, and Itch.io.
I've also been posting youtube shorts, I'd be super appreciative to anyone who likes/comments on them!

Elise and Lebkuchen 🥰🥨
I fell in love with Little Goody Two Shoes from the moment I first saw the trailer in 2023 - it seemed like it was made for me! Stunning retro anime-style artwork, gothic horror in a beautiful fantasy world, a wide array of characters to interact with and multiple endings - and on top of all that, unapologetically sapphic 🥹💕
I spent many hours playing through the game over the winter break, and I can’t even begin to say how much I enjoyed it. I was shocked by the twists and turns the plot took, loved the puzzles and mysteries and was swept up in the dreamy romance playing out with Lebkuchen. This piece was inspired by the game’s Witching Hour, the thrilling conclusion of their love story, and Elise’s final decision 🐦‍⬛🐍🐐

POKESHIPPING WEEK 2024!
Tumblr media
It's that time again, pokeshippers!
Last year, we announced that the format of Pokeshipping Week - one theme per day - was getting retired. We also said that we'd still put on a celebration of some kind going forward. Well, the time is here, and I'm happy to announce that we are planning a pokeshipping zine...next year!
If you'll forgive the bait-and-switch there, we have seriously talked about doing a zine, but time got away from us this summer. So, while we do hope to tackle that undertaking in 2025, for this year, we're planning what you might call an open Pokeshipping Week!
How does it work, you ask? Simple: over the years, you all have submitted a lot of potential themes for Pokeshipping Week. For every seven that got chosen each year, plenty were left behind. Well, now you can fill November 1 to 7 with art, fics, AMVs, GIFs, graphics, etc., all about our favorite Poke-couple, using any seven you'd like from the unused themes list.
Any and all contributions are welcome, and if they're tagged #pokeshipping week 2024, we'll reblog them here and on the main @pokeshipping blog. Besides Tumblr, we’ll keep our eyes out for the tag on Twitter and DeviantART for artwork, for fanfics on FF.Net and AO3, and for AMVs on YouTube (no NSFW, please).
The full list of unused themes (from years 2020 through 2023) is below the "Read More" break. Use, combine, and create as your heart desires, and we'll see you November 1!

This month has been blessed with some of the best stories I've read/I'm reading in a while and cursed, as usual, with criminally limited time to read and write (and to have walks in the park, and to snuggle with my husband on the sofa, and to go to exhibitions… but I digress, don't I?).
Aaaaaanyway. Here are the things I loved about
March’s Mouthwatering Fictions
WIPs:
Scorn And The Saint-Maker, by beardo @e-rated-beardo, rated E, chapters 35/?
This story is so incredibly compelling. You'll find yourself constantly trying to unravel the puzzle of Anthony Crowley and Angel Fell, thinking back of all the Clues the writer has scattered here and there so far. The characterisation is spot on, the smut is just so, oh, delicious, and the writer’s beautiful use of “Oh, but”s had me sigh like Aziraphale when reading Jane Austen. All mixed up in an incredibly clever plot. We meet old and new and new-but-old-really friends and what the blooming freak is going on? The details are impressive, and did I mention beardo also does the amazing artwork?
This is definitely one of those fics that make you wonder at the fact that the author is not a full time writer and artist and instead does this for free as a gift to us. What more can a reader ask for?
Also, no matter if you've ever been or will ever go to Aberdeen, prepare to fall in love with the city and its university campus.
Is There A Version? by @lookingatacupoftea , rated M, chapters 11/25.
Because life, I still have to catch on the chapters that have been already posted, but, oh I'M LOVING THIS SEASON 3 FICTION! I'm loving it so much! It's so, so refreshing to read someone else’s story that shares my headcanon and my vision of the characters. Please please please go and read it!
Chicken Bites, by AMangoNamedChicken, rated M, chapters 28/?
A collection of small snippets in the lives of our ineffables. Every chapter can be read on its own as a little bite and you can skip some chapters if you want and still be able to enjoy the others. Great humour and lovely fluff, but really every chapter is different and can have a different tone.
Wavelengths & Frequencies, by imposterssyndrome @maaikeatthefullmoon, @shadesofecclescakes , rated E, chapters 19/?
Human AU in which Aziraphale and Crowley are rival radio DJs who find themselves working for the same media company. This story is filled with lovely banter and humour and has all the right feels.
My own new WIP, Deluded, rated M, chapter 1/ 5.
Human AU. Crowley has been sent to a blind date with Maggie's friend Aziraphale. But Crowley doesn't do dates, only one-night stands. He's done with feelings and stuff. So he delivers the little speech he has prepared to Aziraphale and they never see each other again.
HA!
Joking. We all know that's never going to happen, don't we?
When I was finishing writing my season 3 fic, I promised myself that all I would write after that would be only human AUs with hardly any plot, and boy am I keeping that promise! Welcome to another story where all that happens is two people meeting, talking, thinking, falling in love and dealing with their own and each other's cluelessness.
Complete stories:
That Isn't Supposed To Happen, by @addledmongoose , rated T, 127k.
I adore Addled’s stories and style and have done since the first one I read over a year ago. Each new story is a lovely gift, and this reverse omens AU doesn't disappoint one bit. There's plot, there's a mystery to solve, there's oh, so much wonderful pining, there's humour, there's great characterisation and there's demon Azira. I don't think I'll ever be able to stress enough how being a demon suits Aziraphale perfectly. He was born to be a demon; Crowley's demon to be precise. The dynamics between the two of them is simply perfect. I loved loved loved this fiction!
Anthony J. Crowley: Private Eye, by Tigerseye67, rated M, 14k.
Lovely human AU written in the style of a 40s noir film. Crowley is a private detective and Aziraphale hires him to recover a book that Gabriel stole from him. Several plot twists later everything ends well for our heroes, in this intriguing case!
One-shots:
Heir, by ddagent, rated T, 2k.
Just a lovely peek into the life of future king Aziraphale on the day of his brother’s Gabriel funeral. He meets leader of opposition and anti-monarchist Crowley. This story left a delicious taste of nostalgia and what-ifs in my mouth; it was brief and effective. But a fair warning: if you need unquestionable closure in the fics you read, maybe you might want to give this one a miss. I loved it.
Ghost, by AppleSeeds, rated T, 5k.
Human AU. Crowley seems to have a ghost in his flat who takes care of him by preparing relaxing hot baths and providing nice meals. Don't worry, though, this is fiction, and AppleSeeds fiction at that. Happy ending guaranteed.
Just Another Day, by @enderhuntresss , rated E, 2k.
Such a lovely and fluffy (and hot) slice of life in the future of our favourite ineffables. This story is what awaits them on the other side of saving the world and we're all looking forward to for them.
Smooth Criminal, by Sabotaged_Words @sabotage-on-mercury, rated T, 11k.
Oh,I adored this story! I have already recommended it to anyone who would listen and I'll recommend it again! It's a human AU where petty criminal Crowley tries to steal items from Aziraphale's bookshop and that's how their friendship begins. Delightful humour, warm vibes, great characterisation, hilarious references to canon: this fiction is a gem.
Thwarted Snark, by TogetherAgain, rated G, 400 words.
The first time Crowley sees Aziraphale again after he went back to heaven, he really wants to be snarky and sarcastic. But what he wants and what they both need are two very different things. Lovely and heartwarming.
As always, I tried to tag the authors whose tumblr username I know to show them that their fictions are loved. If you want your fiction removed from this list, or know an author who wants their fiction removed, please let me know.
As always, pleeeeeease, don't judge a fiction by the number of kudos!

📺🖼️🤔 Let's analyze The Sims 2 ART
From video description:
I'm starting a new series! The art work and descriptions in The Sims 2 needs analyzing, and I'm all here for it. Hopefully YOU are too ❤
youtube
This video dedicated to analyzing artworks in The Sims 2 game. The Reese provides detailed breakdowns of the descriptions and visual elements of four paintings from the game, revealing their hidden meanings and references.
In the Beginning
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first painting costs 600 simoleons and has 4 environment points. The description states: "The best famous painting by Sim City's best famous surrealist 'Luc Diswé' 'In the Beginning' deals with familiar themes of desire and betrayal within the framework of post-industrial social alienation."
Author's analysis:
Biblical references: The apple in the painting refers to Eve's temptation in the Garden of Eden, while the title "In the Beginning" references the Book of Genesis
Connection to Bella Goth: The female figure with an apple for a head resembles Bella Goth in a red dress, which is a reference to the first The Sims game
Possible Apple reference: The apple may symbolize Apple Inc. and EA's temptation to make games for Mac
Wordplay: The artist's name Luc Diswé (Look This Way) plays with the perception of surrealism
Art criticism parody: The description parodies the lofty language of gallery criticism, using terms like "desire," "betrayal," "post-industrial alienation"
Bella Squared
Tumblr media
The painting costs 1000 simoleons and provides 7 environment points. Description: "One of Sim City's best-known inhabitants and famous neighbors, Bella is now forever preserved by this glorious work of art. Her is a gorgeous face is recognized and loved by many, though the piece has been heralded as a "painting destined for greatness", its anonymous creator refuses to come forth."
Author's analysis:
Multi-layered reference: The painting is a tribute to the mystery of Bella Goth, one of the most iconic characters in The Sims universe
Meta-wink to fans: References player speculation about Bella's fate over the years
Pop art style: The title "Bella Squared" plays with pop art style
Anonymous creator: A nod to the game developers who built Bella's disappearance into the plot but never gave a full canonical explanation
Celebrity cult: Parody of celebrity worship through art, turning people into symbols
"Untitled" by Len Bledgemann
Tumblr media
The most expensive painting at 2700 simoleons with maximum 10 environment points. Description: "After a disenchanting tenure in the food service industry, Bledgemann emerged as one of art scene's intriguing self-taunght artists. His series of pop-art images is renowned for critiquing modern culture subtly, yet scathingly."
Author's analysis:
Andy Warhol reference: The painting closely resembles Warhol's famous works featuring portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana, and other celebrities
Bella as Sims queen: The resemblance to Bella Goth may reference her status as "queen" of The Sims universe
Pop art criticism: The description directly references pop art's irony and its criticism of mass culture
Romanticized artist parody: Bledgemann's story as a self-taught artist from the food industry mocks the "starving artist" cliché
"Untitled": An overused title in contemporary art, implying either depth or pretentious minimalism
A Sim Noir Print
Tumblr media
The painting costs 3000 simoleons with 10 environment points. Description: "It was cold. Rain was falling, water running down the street like loose words in a bad novel. 'I just don't know, doll face', he said. She knew he would never know, and a sinr tear formed at her eye's corner. Guilt tugged at his heart strings like a bad guitarist, and he knew it was all over."
Author's analysis:
Roy Lichtenstein style: The painting closely resembles Lichtenstein's works, especially "Thinking of Him" (1963) and "Crying Girl" (1963)
Noir narrative: The description is written in a stylized noir narrator voice with dark metaphors and fatalistic emotions
Purple prose: Phrases like "water running down the street like imprecise words in a bad novel" highlight the genre's tendency toward flowery prose
Classic noir elements: Disillusioned detective, crying woman, unresolved emotional conflict - straight from 1940s black-and-white crime films
Mass production: The title emphasizes that this is not a unique work but a mass-produced reproduction of stylized despair
Conclusion
The video demonstrates deep understanding of both The Sims gaming culture and art history, revealing the multi-layered references and parodies embedded by developers in the game's artwork descriptions.

would you ever share a list of your fave fics to reread ? Id love to hear your recommendations and faves
sure thing :) i'm only going to list works that have been going on for a while (or at least have gotten past the very beginning of the story) and that i've read all the way through. i'm also not going to list any of the super iconic fics i like because this list is already pretty long. these are all based on stuff that i personally find more interesting to read about, mostly focused on the human characters and not a lot of romance
i don't really know if these first two count but they're too good to not include:
Jade Route by spicyyeti
a post-epilogues comic centering around jade, this is my favorite homestuck fanwork. i especially love the artwork and the way it frames the story. it is reaaallllly hard to read it on a phone so make sure to read it on a computer or tablet
House of Dirk by imarriedacherub no rating - graphic depictions of violence - 13,570 words - 20 chapters (unfinished) A sitcom about completely normal and well-adjusted newlyweds Dirk and Caliborn attempting to make a good impression on their son, Dave, and his boyfriend, Karkat.
another comic, this one hosted on both ao3 and mspfa (though the ao3 version has more pages). i like how ridiculous it is. will probably never be finished, sadly
moving on to the actual fics:
Reallocated by breezefulskies mature - chose not to use archive warnings - 324,756 words - 65 chapters (unfinished) Hal finds himself stranded aboard a certain meteor, impact-bound for Houston, Texas circa 1995. And everything spirals out from there. Because sometimes, when a system seems to be just short of defunct, all that is required is to take a step back and reevaluate the materials at hand and redistribute your available resources. And so, with birth comes a countdown on a cycle that begins as it ends: In the red.
hal is mysteriously sent to earth via unknown means and finds himself raising a baby as best as he can, which, given that he's glasses, is not easy. this is my favorite homestuck fic, not just because it's about hal, but also because i love the focus on family dynamics and the plot as it unfolds. begging everyone to read this, i can't say what happens exactly without spoiling things, it's just really really good. at the moment, it updates once a month
Ersatz Abyss by katreal mature - no archive warnings apply - 120,092 words - 39 chapters (unfinished) You look into the mirror to find your own face looking back at you. You laugh. And then you cry. Last, you try and figure out how you got to this moment. The Auto-Responder had long since resigned himself to an artificial existence, his only dwindling hope for escape hinging on a promise that has yet to be fulfilled. Then one day he wakes up, Dirk nowhere to be found. What's the point in getting what you want, if you can't show off a little?
another great hal fic. i managed to get my roommate (who has not read homestuck) to read this and they really enjoyed it, so i'm sure you all won't have any problems liking this one either. there are a lot of fics out there of hal getting a body, but this one is very different in that it's not the happy ending that you might first think it is. this fic perfects the feeling of everything snowballing into a bigger and bigger problem until it all falls apart
Falling for the First Time by nobrandhero teen - no warnings apply - 63,818 words - 11/17 chapters The game is over, Alpha Earth resets to 2009, and Dirk's bro doesn't live up to expectations. The movie director who appears so chill and stoic in interviews is actually a talkative, needy dweeb like his teenage counterpart. It's not a bad thing, as far as Dirk's concerned.
for whatever reason, i'm a sucker for fics where the characters somehow end up on earth again post-game, and out of all the fics that follow that concept this one is my favorite. sadly, this one barely touches on jane and jake, but it's pretty interesting to read about what dirk and roxy are getting up to with their guardians (and the earth) restored to their previous conditions
The Haunted Harley House by hemoanarchists teen - chose not to use archive warnings - 78,462 words - 23 chapters (finished) There is an old house you built a long long time ago, alongside someone very close to you. Now as you don a new name, slipping back into society to care for a descendant, to whom tragedy has left you as her only family left, you take her to the house, the house that bears your family name. You really shouldn't have been surprised when he came to join you. It is his house too, after all.
carlah, a young girl who lives on earth c, has just been taken in by her uncle "jacob harley" after her mother's death. as time goes on, she slowly learns more about the true nature of her new guardians and the house they all live in. normally i'm not that interested in OCs but i love how intriguing carlah is as an outsider of the story. it's really easy to get invested in her as she uncovers a mystery we all know from the beginning and another that we have to learn along with her. shoutout to dysfunctional family dynamics
actually, while i'm at it, i'm going to recommend a bunch of other stuff he's written:
Atlantis Bound teen - chose not to use archive warnings - 33,263 words - 8 chapters (unfinished) Dirk tracks down an old friend
prequel to the haunted harley house but can also be read after (or separately). i really like the dynamic between dirk and vriska here, and i also love the way vriska's repeated reincarnation is utilized. vriska's journey through the newest iteration of her life while dirk watches over her is soooo captivating, especially when snippets of her previous lives are sprinkled in throughout. do you guys love cycles? personally i love cycles
Cherubian mature - chose not to use archive warnings - 54,011 words - 29 chapters (unfinished) The 5000 year time skip never happened, at the dawn of time the gods desperately try to guide the planet into a better future. But with tensions rising it feels like one bad day could bring everything crumbling down.
all of dante's earth-c god fics as a whole changed my brain chemistry and this acts as the beginning (and catalyst) of that overarching story. a lot happens in a very short amount of time
Transitional teen - no warnings apply - 1,860 words - oneshot a simple question what changed when you went godtier?
super simple but also an interesting exploration of the headcanon that players' bodies change when they go godtier. the twist is that each "change" is unique to each character and relates to their Self in some way
Monster under the bed teen - chose not to use archive warnings - 2,573 words - oneshot Skeletons in the Closet mature - chose not to use archive warnings - 2,910 words - oneshot Small Talk teen - no warnings apply - 8,944 words - 6 chapters (unfinished)
putting all three of these together because i believe(?) they're all part of the same narrative
