Thoughts on The Code of Claw as I read it: (Spoilers, but I think I'm pretty much the last one in line)

Gregor's metaphor between himself and the dead knight is rally sad. "And then, nothing will hurt him again." It feels even worse every time he thinks of what will happen to his family when he dies.

(I know he's gonna live, IT'S THE LAW, but the thought process is depressing).

At this rate, Gregor liking Luxa will become common knowledge by Part 3. Mareth and Ripred did him dirty 😭

I find a lot of funny contrasts between Lizzie and Gregor. He'd stayed in the Underland to solve their problems, save them from war and death MULTIPLE TIMES, but once Lizzie wants to help, he goes "Nope, no danger for you."

Also, Ripred treating Lizzie vs Ripred treating Gregor:

I have a feeling Mr. Badass rat used to have these type of anxiety episodes too. I mean, he does blow up when things go wrong and he has time to rant about it. Maybe he switched the panic with anger?

Lizzie and her puzzles love reminds me of 11-year-old me and I'm living for it (pls don't let anything happen to her).

Once every blue moon, I feel a bit of respect for Solovet and what she's doing to lead an army, then it gets wiped out by new and increasingly unhinged stuff.

That part where Ripred and Solovet embarrass Gregor, then he visits his mom and unwinds a bit? Hits too close to home honestly.

Why did it take me 5 books to get the naming gig between species??? (Newton did it for me)

Gregor and Luxa are really cute <3 (romance subplot will forever be better than romance as a genre).

Gregor said he would've wanted an older brother like Howard: "kind, brave, and not afraid to say he cared about things or admit he was wrong." ... Does he realize he's also that kind of older brother? Srsly, these two should win an award for that.

k, at least Solovet is one person I won't be crying over. I almost did at Vikus though. Imagine your family falling apart, dying one by one, losing some of them twice, not once (give the grown man a hug).

Lapblood, Flyfur and Sixclaw mention yay. I can finally live in peace.

I'm scared rn because there are 60 pages left and the fight didn't even start. Like, what if it all doesn't work out? How many people can die in 60 pages? I didn't used to, but this series gave me severe anxiety.

Ripred is the biggest plot twister to ever twist plot twists into plots like OH MY GOD

Honestly, I didn't really feel satisfied at the ending until that part where Boots says Gregor's full name. I have decided that is enough to make up for everything.

This series was a 5/5. Nothing I've read recently has altered my brain chemistry this way. I proudly declare myself obsessed.

Alright Over and Underlanders. I know you all want my concluding thoughts, and trust me, I have a LOT. But I also have a LOT of studying to do this week. So here are my thoughts summed up in memes:

Recently reread the Underland Chronicles so I decided to dig through and find the old fanart I did when I first read the series like 11 years ago (wow i’m old) so please enjoy

Featuring my Mark Crilley manga phase, my terrible handwriting lol, ✨copic markers✨, random details I latched on to for some reason, FEELs wtf bro, and me somehow missing the fact that Luxa got a haircut in book one, and spoilers (fr go read these books if you haven't they are so good)

The weave texture was meant to show that their clothes are made of spider silk (Idk what the random thigh pouch is supposed to be tho)

And for some reason the fish-shape crystal thing really stood out to me I guess

And the turtle trapdoor, I remembered that bit specifically during my reread bc I pictured this drawing I did of it. (I also vaguely remember writing (like by hand in my notebook) a mini missing scene fanfic about Luxa using the turtle trapdoor when she snuck out to join the quest in PoB XD)

I also distinctly remember making like a montage of Lapblood moments (the dart frog jumping near her face, strangled in the vines, sinking in quicksand (all near death experiences apparently, rip she had it rough), and Gregor brushing her fur) bc those were the moments I remembered and kept picturing during my reread. But unfortunately I could not for the LIFE of me find it!

Anyway, looking at your old art is cringeyyyy but it's still kinda fun too. This really is not how I picture the characters or clothing and stuff anymore, I might do some redraws if I ever find the time/motivation (lol as if)

Thoughts on Toridyne and Alphoriel? Yuri stocks so low I don't even know that their ot3 name is so i figure the resident Toriel account would have opinions

alphoriel has potential and is quite cute in deltarune, but i have to admit alphys is just a tad too perfect as an asgore foil/parallel for me to get super invested in that hypothetical dynamic. at least in a romantic sense.

there is a private secret toxic yuri toridyne dynamic that only exists in my brain for the empress undyne ending because there are few things more homoerotic than personally throwing a queen off of her throne. it's one of the neutral endings where undyne reaches some untapped extremes in her character, i think she deserves an insane yuri psychosexual complex to match. the weird ass power dynamics at play. the way their every interaction is colored by her grief and (pardon the pun) undying loyalty to asgore, but also her inheriting his struggles to manage the kingdom and toriel being the only one she can crawl to for guidance IF!!! she can swallow her pride and sense of justice (can she? can she do that for monsterkind?) it's toxic, it's violent, it's spiteful, and the moment undyne even mentions the role asgore played in her life toriel is 100% going to see her as the child asgore got to raise, in spite of everything he did. humiliating. absolutely wretched experience for both of them. but alas, I'd definitely had to write that myself

Tome and her Uncles 👽✨️

personally, I'm a big fan of the headcanon that yoshioka is tome's biological uncle that somehow ended up working as a security guard for a big terrorist organization.

Look at it this way, everyone already views dimple as the weird evil uncle of the group, so when he and yoshioka fuse, tome just gets a super uncle. a two in one deal, if you will. I also think it's super funny that dimple and tome would act more alike than her and her actual uncle would. like the both of them causing mischief while yoshioka strongly advises against it but still gets dragged along anyway. lol
