It's been a while since I read the Percy Jackson & The Olympians, but something that has forever remained in my memory is when Rachel Elizabeth Dare actually throws her blue (yes, blue) plastic brush at Kronos (technically Luke🥲😭),
THE TITAN OF TIME
...
I DID NOT see that coming
This is staying with me for life.

It’s so crazy to think how Percy could have ended up like Luke - their situations are so eerily similar, only a few years seperate them and it makes you wonder. What if Sally had been the one in May’s place?

Theseus #1 - "Pythia: Oracle of Delphi"
King Aegeus of Athens, still childless, travels to the Pythia oracle at Delphi for advice. The Pythia, ever famous for her enigmatic and ambiguous prophecies, tells him “Do not uncork the wineskin until you have reached Athens.”
Zeus, wanting to locate the center of the world, released two eagles flying in opposite directions around the earth at equal speeds, and the birds reached one another at a specific point above the slope of Mount Parnassus. Here Zeus placed a sacred stone called the Omphalus, or “naval of the earth.” A serpent, Pytho (son of Gaia) guarded the stone, until Apollo came and slew the creature, establishing the site as a divine source for receiving messages directly from the god of prophecy.
Before entering the temple, priestesses and pilgrims alike would wash themselves in the soul cleansing waters of the Castilian spring for purification.  In a sacred, inner sanctum, the Pythia, (head oracle priestess) was said to sit upon a tripod and breath in toxic vapors (said to be toxic fumes from Pythos rotting body) from a chasm below in the cave rock. The fumes could have been methane or ethylene, while others have theorized, she chewed or inhaled smoke from Oleander leaves. The priestess then fell into a trance, and receiving divine inspiration from Apollo, spoke in tongues that was interpreted and translated by priests into dactylic hexameter (the poetic meter used in ancient Greek epics like the Iliad.)
The Delphi site was sprawling and complex; holding the religious temple of Apollo, a stadium and gymnasium for the Pythian games, an outdoor theatre, a hippodrome for chariot races, among others. There were three philosophical phrases carved into the temple known as the “Delphic Maxims.” They were; “know thyself,” “Nothing in Excess,” and “Surety Brings Ruin.”

The biggest concern of all Perachel shippers and the most used argument used by anti Perachel shippers is that Rachel is an oracle and she took a vow of celibacy so no dating. That's not exactly how it works.
The reason they are made to make such a vow is to put serving their God Apollo first and foremost.
May Castellan had already had a child when she went to bond with the Oracle, and her not being celibate has nothing to do with that as we know .
Now, even in Ancient Greece, older women have been vessels for Oracles. They just had to put their family aside.
So, in conclusion, the vow of celibacy isn't an obligate condition.
Now for a bit of an history lesson The Oracle of Delphi is extremely unique as she has existed long before the Gods did as a spirit in Lake of Delphi and was often initially referred to as the Oracle of Gaia.
The titaness Phoebe used the powers given by the lake to divine futures. That was how Rhea knew where to hide and how to trick Kronos as she had gone to Phoebe for advice.
Now, for an even more interesting piece of fact after the Gods took control, the Lake of Delphi remained for millenias under the jurisdiction of Poseidon himself.
Priestesses used to come there to seek the power to be able to divine the futures. Only when it was attacked by Python himself and then saved by Apollo who killed the Python did the Spirit of Delphi choose to host itself in Apollos Priestesses thus abandoning the Lake.
The spirit of Delphi has no clear allegiances being able to change who she serves, and we know the Oracle spirit has some fondness for Percy given his own exceptionally prophetic dreams which is a power akin to an Oracle.
This means Rachel can probably choose to serve another God, maybe Poseidon himself, again, so he would revoke the no dating condition.
Or or this is my absolute favorite headcanon about Perachel, that given how many times Percy has managed to save her when Percy eventually ascends to Godhood Rachel and the Oracle spirit, swear fealty to him.
Take that Percabeth shippers. Your only viable argument against Perachel is no longer an argument.

Why do people hate Rachel Dare? For having a crush? For taking Percy from Annabeth?
So many people hate on Rachel, for what? There’s absolutely no reason you can possibly not like her for. You wanna argue with me on that? Let me shut you down:
Rachel did NOT “take Percy from Annabeth.” Was she supposed to know that annabeth had a crush on him? Did annabeth own him? No. She didn’t. So why are people getting angry for Rachel having a crush? Annabeth and Percy pretty much don’t get together until after the war because they were too afraid of losing each other. Was she supposed to back off as if Annabeth had percy on hold? She simply had a crush, and Percy had a small crush back.
She’s an overall good character. She never did anything rude toward Annabeth even though annabeth clearly had a crush on Percy, too. She’s sweet and funny. She’s very artistic too. She becomes the Oracle so she can help.
back off, man. I get that you’re very strong for percabeth, but IT HAPPENED OKAY? No hate on Rachel!!!!
(this is not me shipping perachel because that’s a horrible ship. This is also not me saying Annabeth was rude or toxic. They were teenagers, and Annabeth felt a bit jealous and protective of Percy, so she acted rash. We respect the women of PJO)
