au where during his troublemaker phase iruka decides to hang out with the jinchuuriki just to spite the adults around him but when he meets little toddler naruto, he realises Oh Shit. He Is Just A Baby. an Alone Orphan Baby. and so he starts taking naruto everywhere in the village with him bc its not like the orphanage staff care where he goes.

but then anbu phase kakashi comes back to konoha after an extended mission and on his usual rounds of stalking the orphanage to check on naruto, he's not there. kakashi starts capital p Panicking and desperately looking around until he finds naruto with iruka, and assumes iruka is going to hurt naruto so he goes in to attack.

but iruka in turn assumes this anbu is here to attack naruto (bc almost everyone else approaching them so far has).

and unfortunately for Genius Prodigy Do Everything By The Book Era Kakashi, iruka is scrappy, smarter than he looks, has become fiercely protective over naruto and has no qualms about playing dirty to try to win.

thankfully during their short brawl iruka starts yelling things that make it clear that he's trying to protect naruto, which shocks kakashi so he shunshins away.

kakashi then partakes in some light stalking and watches iruka playing with naruto and taking care of him and letting him climb on his arms and wipe snot on his shirt (even if iruka makes a face about it). he desperately hopes that this little exchange won't awaken anything in him.

and later while iruka is silently fuming and working on some especially Nasty seals to trap the hokage tower and anbu hq with, he gets a curt note taped to his window that just says like "sorry. was trying to protect him too."

so iruka decides to forgive him, which just means he makes sure those new traps aren't lethal <3

I think the thing that kills me the most about salt and peppers dynamic is how incredibly different it is from match and pencil because you KNOW salt and pepper are supposed to have the same character archetypes but they are NOT on the same level at all

with pencil and match you generally get the feeling that pencil is the one in charge but it isn’t something explicitly stated and we don’t really see pencil ever act against match or act as if she’s secondary, pencil is just dubbed the leader of the two because she takes more charge. make no mistake those are two bad bitches and they will always work together and they’ll GET you if you cross them

but when it comes to salt and pepper? you see salt get mad at pepper in the FIRST EPISODE. in FFF4 she’s directly dismissing peppers ideas and implying that she’s less than her. in the alternate reality show pepper KILLS HER because she feels so disrespected. in their relationship, salt is always the evident leader, and pepper is just the parasite. they could NEVER be the matchil gay smile and I dunno I think it would be really interesting to see how they would react to seeing pencil and match’s healthier relationship

I’ve read a couple of takes today about Louis’ image and Harry’s image, independently written of each other. And no one, not one person, asked for this lol but here’s my take.

Music in general is suffering, due to the rise of AI and the dominance of social media. Corporate greed also plays a massive role in this as well. Now before you go rolling your eyes lol and muttering “how original, the big bad internet killed creativity” under your breath, let me tell you what I see.

First- AI isn’t the big bad wolf, but it is a gigantic pain in the ass. People use musician’s voices to release things that the artist hasn’t consented to or created. That’s a problem. It disincentivizes and discourages creation, and we need new creation now more than ever.

Second- social media shows how much some people *really* suck. Parasocial relationships and batshit crazy fans have created a world where anyone even remotely famous either has to lean in and engage with fans who know ZERO boundaries, or they have to become even more aloof, until they are virtually unrecognizable. Every action is torn apart by a billion voices and keyboard warriors. I am literally no exception. All of the boys have done this dance of pulling back while trying to keep fans interested and engaged. I can’t imagine the pressure.

Also- corporate greed has sucked the life out of most of this process. Albums are expensive things to make and they can take freaking forever. In today’s world, with our shoddy attention spans- people lose interest in something fast unless it’s the newest shiny thing. Tickets to shows are more expensive than ever. It is COSTLY to be a fan. Which I think makes fans feel entitled. And entitlement leads to a disrespect of boundaries, which feeds into my earlier point about celebs feeling the need to be more aloof.

The long and the short of it is- only you can decide what your line in the sand is. If you can’t stand Louis or Harry (or Niall or Zayn’s) public images, you don’t have to engage with them publicly. You can not purchase merch or concert tickets next tour, you can unfollow them on social media, hell, you can even stop listening to their music for a little while and I promise you, the world will not stop turning if that’s the decision you make.

We used to really push people to support them because we love them and we felt like they needed our support. But now I think… well I think they’re doing fine. And I will support them in the future if I want to! Enthusiastically, even! I’ll be cheering for Louis in SoccerAid and I’ll even likely donate a little, it’s a good cause and I like that he’s doing it. If Harry blows dust off of his iPad and posts about a cause I’d support that too. But I don’t engage with the other nonsense anymore. And I think that’s okay.

you know what's fucking scary? the number of times a "daddy dom" follows me and when I go to look through the other blogs he's following there are multiple underage girls posting about wanting "older men". I do my best to block and report them (and they do always get deleted) but I know that there are a million more men like that who know how to disable viewing of their following list, and it frightens and disgusts me to know that there must be some following me that I have no way of knowing about. fucking horrifying
