erm hold on I watched a really good video that talked about this recently. this one. I basically agree with everything that person said and have nothing of my own to add. it definitely tracks that berdly is a person who interprets any positive or affection feelings between peers as having to be romantic, especially when between a boy and a girl, and that he would view his changing opinion on susie as himself falling for her. but also if it turns out the crush is genuine I still think that's fine. like most things about berdly I found it annoying at first but came around to finding it funny. I think it's both a good vehicle for jokes and character interaction and says something interesting about berdly and his relationships.

not as relevant but I do think there's something to how susie is becoming this like, hot commodity. everyone wants susie. I don't know what that "something" is yet but I'm filing it away for later
