I follow 500+ blogs. ill follow an entire squad of mutuals. if someone keeps putting posts I'm not a fan of on my dash (as serious as going against my morals, as little as starts posting about x fandom when I want to see y fandom content rn) I just unfollow them.

I follow a lot of "posts char daily" blogs and "art from your fandom" blogs.

you can also follow tags, but it doesn't show you every post from that tag I've noticed. I use this to find blogs I want to follow; someone keeps appearing in the hs tag? I like their takes, their art? follow!

Common mistake of new tumblr users is that they start off by only following art accounts that only post like monthly, and then they're confused by why their dash is so dead. Girlie you need to get yourself some Post Hunter Gatherers too to get a more varied experience

You can host a website on Neocities for free as long as it's under 1GB (which is a LOT more than it sounds like let me tell you) but if that's not enough you can get 50GB of space (and a variety of other perks) for only $5 a month.

And if you can't/don't want to pay for the extra space, sites like File Garden and Catbox let you host files for free that you can easily link into NeoCities pages (I do this to host videos on mine!) (It also lets you share files NeoCities wouldn't let you upload for free anyways, this is how I upload the .zip files for my 3DS themes on my site.)

Don't know how to write HTML/CSS? No problem. W3schools is an invaluable resource with free lessons on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and a whole slew of other programming languages, both for web development and otherwise.

Marginalia and Wiby are search engines that specifically prioritize non-commercial content. Marginalia also has filters that let you search for more specific categories of website, like wikis, blogs, academia, forums, and vintage sites.

Maybe you wanna log off the modern internet landscape altogether and step back into the pre-social media web altogether, well, Protoweb lets you do just that. It's a proxy service for older browsers (or really just any browser that supports HTTP, but that's mostly old browsers now anyways) that lets you visit restored snapshots of vintage websites.

Free or Cheap Mandarin Chinese Learning Resources Because You Can't Let John Cena One Up You Again

I will update this list as I learn of any more useful ones. If you want general language learning resources check out this other post. This list is Mandarin specific. Find lists for other specific languages here.

For the purposes of this list "free" means something that is either totally free or has a useful free tier. "Cheap" is a subscription under $10USD a month, a software license or lifetime membership purchase under $100USD, or a book under $30USD. If you want to suggest a resource for this list please suggest ones in that price range that are of decent quality and not AI generated.

WEBSITES

Dong Chinese - A website with lessons, a pinyin guide, a dictionary, and various videos and practice tests. With a free account you're only allowed to do one lesson every 12 hours. To do as many lessons as quickly as you want it costs $10 a month or $80 a year.

Domino Chinese - A paid website with video based lessons from absolute beginner to college level. They claim they can get you ready to get a job in China. They offer a free trial and after that it's $5 a month or pay what you can if you want to support their company.

Chinese Education Center - This is an organization that gives information to students interested in studying abroad in China. They have free text based lessons for beginners on vocab, grammar, and handwriting.

Pleco Dictionary App - This is a very popular dictionary app on both iOS and Android. It has a basic dictionary available for free but other features can be purchased individually or in bundles. A full bundle that has what most people would want is about $30 but there are more expensive options with more features.

MIT OpenCourseWare Chinese 1 2 3 4 5 6 - These are actual archived online courses from MIT available for free. You will likely need to download them onto your computer.

Learn Chinese Web Application From Cambridge University - This is a free downloadable file with Mandarin lessons in a PC application. There's a different program for beginner and intermediate.

Learn Chinese Everyday - A free word a day website. Every day the website posts a different word with pronunciation, stroke order, and example sentences. There's also an archive of free downloadable worksheets related to previous words featured on the website.

Chinese Boost - A free website and blog with beginner lessons and articles about tips and various resources to try.

Chinese Forums - An old fashioned forum website for people learning Chinese to share resources and ask questions. It's still active as of when I'm making this list.

Du Chinese - A free website and an app with lessons and reading and listening practice with dual transcripts in both Chinese characters and pinyin. They also have an English language blog with tips, lessons, and information on Chinese culture.

YOUTUBE CHANNELS

Chinese For Us - A channel that provides free video lessons for beginners. The channel is mostly in English.

Herbin Mandarin - A channel with a variety of lessons for beginners. The channel hasn't uploaded in a while but there's a fairly large archive of lessons to watch. The channel is mainly in English.

Mandarin Blueprint - This channel is by a couple of guys who also run a paid website. However on their YouTube channel there's a lot of free videos with tips about how to go about learning Chinese, pronunciation and writing tips, and things of that nature. The channel is mainly in English.

Blabla Chinese - A comprehensible input channel with content about a variety of topics for beginner to intermediate. The video descriptions are in English but the videos themselves are all in Mandarin.

Lazy Chinese - A channel aimed at intermediate learners with videos on general topics, grammar, and culture. They also have a podcast. The channel has English descriptions but the videos are all in Mandarin.

Easy Mandarin - A channel associated with the easy languages network that interviews people on the street in Taiwan about everyday topics. The channel has on screen subtitles in traditional characters, pinyin, and English.

StickynoteChinese - A relatively new channel but it already has a decent amount of videos. Jun makes videos about culture and personal vlogs in Mandarin. The channel is aimed at learners from beginner to upper intermediate.

Story Learning Chinese With Annie - A comprehensible input channel almost entirely in Mandarin. The host teaches through stories and also makes videos about useful vocabulary words and cultural topics. It appears to be aimed at beginner to intermediate learners.

LinguaFlow Chinese - Another relatively new channel but they seem to be making new videos regularly. The channel is aimed at beginner to intermediate learners and teaches and provides listening practice with video games. The channel is mostly in Mandarin.

Lala Chinese - A channel with tips on grammar and pronunciation with the occasional vlog for listening practice, aimed at upper beginner to upper intermediate learners. Some videos are all in Mandarin while others use a mix of English and Mandarin. Most videos have dual language subtitles onscreen.

Grace Mandarin Chinese - A channel with general information on the nitty gritty of grammar, pronunciation, common mistakes, slang, and useful phrases for different levels of learners. Most videos are in English but some videos are fully in Mandarin.

READING PRACTICE

HSK Reading - A free website with articles sorted into beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Every article has comprehension questions. You can also mouse over individual characters and see the pinyin and possible translations. The website is in a mix of English and Mandarin.

chinesegradedreader.com - A free website with free short readings up to HSK level 3 or upper intermediate. Each article has an explaination at the beginning of key vocabulary words in English and you can mouse over individual characters to get translations.

Mandarin Companion - This company sells books that are translated and simplified versions of classic novels as well as a few originals for absolute beginners. They are available in both traditional and simplified Chinese. Their levels don't appear to be aligned with any HSK curriculum but even their most advanced books don't have more than 500 individual characters according to them so they're likely mostly for beginners to advanced beginners. New paperbacks seem to usually be $14 but cheaper used copies, digital copies, and audiobooks are also available. The website is in English.

Graded Chinese Readers - Not to be confused with chinese graded reader, this is a website with information on different graded readers by different authors and different companies. The website tells you what the book is about, what level it's for, whether or not it uses traditional or simplified characters, and gives you a link to where you can buy it on amazon. They seem to have links to books all the way from HSK 1 or beginner to HSK 6 or college level. A lot of the books seem to be under $10 but as they're all from different companies your mileage and availability may vary. The website is in English.

Mandarin Bean - A website with free articles about Chinese culture and different short stories. Articles are sorted by HSK level from 1 to 6. The website also lets you switch between traditional or simplified characters and turn the pinyin on or off. It also lets you mouse over characters to get a translation. They have a relatively expensive paid tier that gives you access to video lessons and HSK practice tests and lesson notes but all articles and basic features on the site are available on the free tier without an account. The website is in a mix of Mandarin and English.

Mandarin Daily News - This is a daily newspaper from Taiwan made for children so the articles are simpler, have illustrations and pictures, and use easier characters. As it's for native speaker kids in Taiwan, the site is completely in traditional Chinese.

New Tong Wen Tang for Chrome or Firefox - This is a free browser extension that can convert traditional characters to simplified characters or vice versa without a need to copy and paste things into a separate website.

PODCASTS

Melnyks Chinese - A podcast for more traditional audio Mandarin Chinese lessons for English speakers. The link I gave is to their website but they're also available on most podcatcher apps.

Chinese Track - Another podcast aimed at learning Mandarin but this one goes a bit higher into lower intermediate levels.

Dimsum Mandarin - An older podcast archive of 30 episodes of dialogues aimed at beginner to upper beginner learners.

Dashu Mandarin - A podcast run by three Chinese teachers aimed at intermediate learners that discusses culture topics and gives tips for Mandarin learners. There are also male teachers on the podcast which I'm told is relatively rare for Mandarin material aimed at learners and could help if you're struggling to understand more masculine speaking patterns.

Learning Chinese Through Stories - A storytelling podcast mostly aimed at intermediate learners but they do have some episodes aimed at beginner or advanced learners. They have various paid tiers for extra episodes and learning material on their patreon but there's still a large amount of episodes available for free.

Haike Mandarin - A conversational podcast in Taiwanese Mandarin for intermediate learners. Every episode discusses a different everyday topic. The episode descriptions and titles are entirely in traditional Chinese characters. The hosts provide free transcripts and other materials related to the episodes on their blog.

Learn Chinese With Ju - A vocabulary building podcast aimed at intermediate learners. The podcast episodes are short at around 4-6 minutes and the host speaks about a variety of topics in a mix of English and Mandarin.

xiaoyuzhou fm - An iOS app for native speakers to listen to podcasts. I’m told it has a number of interactive features. If you have an android device you’ll likely have to do some finagling with third party apps to get this one working. As this app is for native speakers, the app is entirely in simplified Chinese.

Apple Podcast directories for Taiwan and China - Podcast pages directed towards users in those countries/regions.

SELF STUDY TEXTBOOKS AND DICTIONARIES

Learning Chinese Characters - This series is sorted by HSK levels and each volume in the series is around $11. Used and digital copies can also be found for cheaper.

HSK Standard Course Textbooks - These are textbooks designed around official Chinese government affiliated HSK tests including all of the simplified characters, grammar, vocab, and cultural knowledge necessary to pass each test. There are six books in total and the books prices range wildly depending on the level and the seller, going for as cheap as $14 to as expensive as $60 though as these are pretty common textbooks, used copies and cheaper online shops can be found with a little digging. The one I have linked to here is the HSK 1 textbook. Some textbook sellers will also bundle them with a workbook, some will not.

Chinese Made Easy for Kids - Although this series is aimed at children, I'm told that it's also very useful for adult beginners. There's a large number of textbooks and workbooks at various levels. The site I linked to is aimed at people placing orders in Hong Kong but the individual pages also have links to various other websites you can buy them from in other countries. The books range from $20-$35 but I include them because some of them are cheaper and they seem really easy to find used copies of.

Reading and Writing Chinese - This book contains guides on all 2300 characters in the HSK texts as of 2013. Although it is slightly outdated, it's still useful for self study and is usually less than $20 new. Used copies are also easy to find.

Basic Chinese by Mcgraw Hill - This book also fuctions as a workbook so good quality used copies can be difficult to find. The book is usually $20 but it also often goes on sale on Amazon and they also sell a cheaper digital copy.

Chinese Grammar: A beginner's guide to basic structures - This book goes over beginner level grammar concepts and can usually be found for less than $20 in print or as low as $2 for a digital copy.

Collins Mandarin Chinese Visual Dictionary - A bilingual English/Mandarin visual dictionary that comes with a link to online audio files. A new copy goes for about $14 but used and digital versions are available.

Merriam-Webster's Chinese to English Dictionary - In general Merriam Websters usually has the cheapest decent quality multilingual dictionaries out there, including for Mandarin Chinese. New editions usually go for around $8 each while older editions are usually even cheaper.

(at the end of the list here I will say I had a difficult time finding tv series specifically made for learners of Mandarin Chinese so if you know of any that are made for teenage or adult learners or are kids shows that would be interesting to adults and are free to watch without a subscription please let me know and I will add them to the list. There's a lot of Mandarin language TV that's easy to find but what I'm specifically interested in for these lists are free to watch series made for learners and/or easy to understand kids shows originally made in the target language that are free and easy to access worldwide)

I'm locking this post because it was about the original wave of gaza-scams and is now outdated when it comes to recent real fundraisers that have been appearing on Tumblr. Please don't pass up people in need because you're afraid of scams. Identifying scams from the real fundraisers is easy.

@el-shab-hussein does a lot of vetting on Tumblr. @nabulsi is another reliable user who has done vetting (but as of this time is not vetting new posts). @90-ghost is a real palestinian person but they don't do a lot of in-depth vetting.

el-shab-hussein and nabulsi have a vetted fundraiser google sheet. el-shab-hussein has a list of direct contacts in gaza/yemen who are certifiably real people. operation olive branch is a coordinated effort to gather certified crowdfunding campaigns both for families and humanitarian provisions.

When you receive an ask, check any of the above resources to see if they're there. Some also have pre-existing social media accounts, such as Instagram, that they certify as theirs and prove that they are a real person in Palestine. Scroll down their blog, look at the notes in their post, and look for confirmation that they are verified anywhere (do not trust their claims until you see the confirmation yourself).

Then if you see confirmation that they are a real person in Palestine who needs help, reblog their post and maybe donate $5.

Feel free to message me about anyone who sends you an ask that seems suspicious and I'll tell you if they resemble any scam archetypes I've seen.

Hey gamers, recently there have been a number of scam blogs on tumblr claiming to be Gazan victims. They've been making a number of iterations of the exact same blog and story but with different names and sometimes different PayPal links.

Thus far, the content of these scams are being stolen from 2 real fundraisers. Please lend your aid to these people who need help instead of the disgusting scam farm

Donation scams on tumblr are extremely common and anyone who has a tumblr account will encounter them at some point. You have likely encountered them before and not realized it. They throw together a brand new blog with a story of needing aid, then use bots to go through follow lists and post notes to send messages to random users. Scambusting blogs like kyra45 do a lot of work to track and call out these scams when they surface.

Scam Spotting Tips

They send an ask often accompanied with a follow despite having never interacted with you before. Ask yourself: How did you find your blog? These interactions usually come out of nowhere when you have no original posts or interests they could've found you through, because they're just going down the lists of random blogs.

They reblog just enough posts to make you think that their blog is in-use when it is actually only a day or a few old. Enable timestamps and try find the blog's oldest post; if a blog seems old but still seems suspicious, be wary of post backdating

They often disable or delete comments on their donation post to hide comments that call them out. Open the notes and see if it says "some replies have been hidden, blocked or removed." Blocked/hidden comments sometimes still appear in reblogs of a post but not the original, so open a random reblog and see if telling comments appear there.

It isn't unusual for the story and the ask to either be exact copy-pastes of each other, or otherwise have very telling suspicious details, such as: using different names, having different goal amounts, contrasting story details, etc. Pay attention to and trust the suspicion of details that stand out as odd.

Like many of the above examples, they often use an automatically generated username consisting of random words

Reverse image searching can be a helpful giveaway if it works, but don't trust it entirely - scammers often steal images from private Facebook groups/profiles or alter the images so that people don't find the source. An image not having a source should also be suspicious, as you should wonder why this person's social media presence is exclusively a 3 day old tumblr blog

When you receive an ask from a blog like this, reporting them for spam or phishing and reporting the PayPal account for fraudulent activity does help get these accounts taken down.

“Hey!” She grumbled out, “that’s not what I meant!” Giving you a bratty glare, she mumbled something under her breath. You couldn’t help but laugh at her frustration, it was as cute as ever. After a stressful round of shooting at players, Ellie was a mess. Desperately needing you to touch the anxiety out of her. And you gave her what she wanted everytime. “I’m kidding! You don’t have to worry your ass of, damn.” Tone, both, mocking and playful, you run your hands through your girlfriend’s hair. Her auburn strands locked onto your slender fingers as you worked to play with them.

“Whatever..” She huffed, going back to resting her head on your stomach with a roll of her eyes. Ellie had a thing for the way you could ease her up in one touch, in one small interaction. All it took was your attention, which she craved at all times. A humm of approval would escape her lips as you kept in mind where and how to massage her scalp. The tips of your fingers working in circular motions to kneed away any remaining frustration. Occasionally pressing your thumbs against her flesh and running them down the back of her neck, you noticed the soft moan your girlfriend let out everytime.

“Someone’s enjoying themselves?” You grinned out, cupping her head before tilting your head to the side until it rested on the cushions of the couch. “Don’t stop, idiot..” Her demand made you giggle, and you guessed it was contagious because it made Ellie flash her cheeky grin. “Stop!” She huffed out, shaking your hands off her head and burrying her face into your stomach. She was trying not to seem embarrassed. “Stop what? You just told me not to!” The room was filled with your girlfriend’s heavenly chuckles and groans. “You asshole! You know what I meant!”

You did know what she meant, but seeing your girlfriend all flustered and annoyed was a precious ass sight. You soaked it all in before cupping her face and squishing her cheeks together. “I know exactly what you mean, but, maybe, I just wanna hear you being direct about it.” Knowing full well what you were doing to your girlfriend, you smiled with fondness.

“I hate you..” She let out quietly, eyes averting yours as she gathered her breath. “I want your attention, alright? No phone, no.. chips, just us.” And, for a second you were caught off guard. You didn’t think she’d actually admit something so.. sincere. Whenever Ellie wanted to, she could become as clingy as a koala. Never letting go, following you around, begging for attention and touch. But, this was one of the rare times you’d hear her being this open.

“Aaaand, what do I get in return?” Was your response, hiding your nervousness. “Kisses.” Ellie answered, an affectionate smile playing on her lips before her hands began slipping your shirt up and stopping under your chest. No intimacy needed when all your girlfriend needed was pure and innocent love. Or so you thought?

“Kisses fix everything.” For Ellie, hell yeah they did. If you happened to piss her off by placing her console in the wrong place, kiss the anger away. She’s crying over a sad cat video? Peck her freckles with and she’ll be blushing like some teenager. Need her to shut up? Give her a big ol’ smooch and you’ll get exactly that. All she’d crave was your touch, nothing more and nothing less.

With a squeeze on your waist, her lips pecked their way around your skin. Her kisses lingering a second too long before she’d move to another spot, your hand came to brush her hair away from her face, not wanting it to interrupt her delicious pecking. “See.. feels good, doesn’t it?”

Even though the moment was.. a bit intimate , you knew it was from the bottom of her heart. With her lips travelling up to your neck, she gave you the world’s best kisses. Brushing over your heated flesh with her rosy and scarred-up lips, she stopped by your own. Her breath shaky, cheeks flushed, and eyes full of adoration.

Ellie was something else.

With a short inhale, she pressed her lips against yours. Slow taps with the occasional tongue. You could feel her shaky breath on you, the desperation as she grasped onto your waist, and the neediness as she let slip soft whines. Was she trying to get laid?

With a final peck, your girlfriend pulled back. Her green eyes took their sweet time to open again, and when they did they landed straight on your lips. No doubt about it, she was still craving more.

“Well, aren’t you fussy today?” You breathlessly chuckled out. With a huff, Ellie rolled her eyes and shifted to burrying her face into the crook of your perfectly heated neck. “Shut up..” Was her grumbled out response.

“Like hell I will, El.”

rafe never understood your obsession with “girlblogging.” sure, he thought it was cute—the way you’d curl up on the couch, your pink laptop balanced on your knees, a cup of milk tea within arm’s reach. the faint clicks of your keyboard always filled the air when you were lost in your own little world, sharing “self-care tips” and “moodboards” with your mysterious tumblr audience.

he didn’t think much it. at least, not until today.

you were sprawled out on your bed, legs kicking behind you as you typed away, completely absorbed. the salty breeze from the open window ruffled the curtains, and the sound of distant waves mixed with the soft hums you let out every so often. rafe stood in the doorway, fresh from a shower, his hair still damp and curling at the ends. he leaned against the frame, phone in hand, scrolling absentmindedly.

“what are you writing about now?”

“just blogging,” you said vaguely, not even sparing him a glance.

“girly tumblr stuff?” he teased, pushing off the doorframe and walking toward you.

“yeah, actually,” you replied, giving him a quick smirk before returning to your screen. rafe sat on the edge of the bed, his gaze flicking from your focused face to the laptop. “you ever write about me?”

your fingers froze on the keyboard for a split second before you quickly recovered, brushing him off. “no.”

“really?” his eyebrow quirked as he leaned back against the headboard, his phone still in his hand. “sounds like something you’d do.”

“why would i write about you on my blog?” you scoffed, avoiding his eyes.

“dunno,” he said in a mock-hurt tone. “i’m a pretty interesting guy.” you rolled your eyes, trying to ignore him as you finished up your post. after rereading it once (okay, twice), you hit “publish” and closed your laptop, satisfied. rafe didn’t say anything else, and you thought that was the end of it—until you heard a quiet chuckle.

“what?” you asked, turning your head to see him grinning at his phone.

“you sure this post isn’t about me?” he asked, holding up his screen so you could see it. your stomach dropped. there it was—your freshly published post, complete with a vague (but not that vague) recount of what had gone down earlier.“rafe!” you shrieked, lunging for his phone, but he held it out of reach, laughing as you scrambled to grab it.

“‘he’s so unfairly hot it’s disgusting. the way he kissed me earlier,’” he read aloud, grinning as you groaned and buried your face in your hands. “‘don’t even get me started. my legs still feel weak, and i’ll never stop thinking about-’”“stop!” you whined, your face burning.

“so this is what you’ve been up to?” he teased, finally tossing his phone onto the bed and pulling you into his lap. “sharing all our secrets with the internet? naughty girl���”

“you’re the worst,” you hid your face in his chest.

“nah, more like ‘unfairly hot’,” he chuckled, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. you peeked up at him, pouting. “you’re never supposed to find my blog.”

“well, then maybe don’t write about how i give the best creampies,”

“ugh, i’m deleting it,” you mumbled.

“don’t you dare,” he said, holding you tighter. “i kinda like knowing you’re out here bragging about me. makes me feel special.”

“you’re insufferable.”

Okay so the very first thing i feel and heard is celebration and wedding/engagement or just something celebratory, that's when you will get a glow up, I also feel when the glow up happens, you will be so happy and content with in your life, for some of you it could be graduation too, I also feel as much as you had like to glow up physically for you guys i see emotional glow up, physically yes, but the way you will glow up "mentally and emotionally" is just amazing, I also feel some of you could be recovering from working very hard, which has left you certainly drained and very much crushed, but i see it getting better, I feel you will get a chance to relax, and not be productive and being in your own energy, so I had say you will know so take that chance, I also feel there might be a new crush/love interest which will help you glow up, you know when you are in love you just glow naturally that type of thing, and i also see you putting effort not only in your appearance, but inner conflicts too, it won't be at all superficial but much more deeper, and it will stay with you, and i see this glow up happening in upcoming years like 2025, you might turn age of 24, 20's or in your 30's, it will be very natural, and i see lots of self pampering and giggles, which is just amazing, I also feel in this time you will recover from your trauma or past. I also see your personality being much more confident, and less anxiety which is a bonus, all i feel is you guys will be doing good, everything you have suffered it will get better~ Not only that i see academic or professional glow up, like you manifesting and getting good grades , you wanting the job and getting it, which goes with i heard celebrations.

That's all pile 1, I love that all i see and feel is growth here, couldn't be more happier for you, you deserve it~

Okay so the very first thing I feel and heard is when you glow up next, you would be going through something a transformation or an awakening. I feel that will be really hard on you, and you will just ask universe, or question it, like what have we done to deserve this?. I feel it won't be easy, like the timing, but the way i see it, it will be a blessing for you because the way you will be becoming your best version and glowing up, is just amazing! alright let's dive deeper, what i feel here is when you glow up next is you will be going through a breakup of friendship/relationship/ or a loss of something might be you would be leaving behind things, which will be hard for you because i sense this pile might like to stay in their comfort zone, I also feel the next glow up will come with challenges, i see you getting through them, but i see you become hot ass version of your own self, like yes I freaking know my worth I also feel. It will bring you a sense of balance in your life with some peace, you will be able to have clear thoughts, without not feeling everything is a burden. I also feel there will be a period of darkness for you which will turn into something beautiful later. I also see you making some decisions, cutting people which are not serving you, or bringing you down. Which will naturally lead to peaceful situation and you feeling better about it. I also feel you guys are just not good at decision making lmao, like you don't know you cant trust yourselves, and this is for some of you not everyone! I also feel, there will be choice you would have to make for your own mental peace, and i see you being confused, but in the end you will have to go with your gut, because only that way i see you having a beautiful future. trust yourself is really a theme here, I feel you guys might have Capricorn/ Aquarius and Gemini/Libra as your sun/ moon / rising! I also feel you will have someone a friend/partner/or your parent especially mom, to help you guide right way, and you working on their advise and them bringing out best in you! You will definitely have big glow up in your mindset and physical self~ I also feel some of you might join gym/yoga or do it at home, or get in habit of it, thought i should mention what i was getting!

Okay so pile 2, that's all i got for you~, honestly as it may seem hard at first, with time, i see t getting easier and better for you!

Tips to build an audience.

Hey folks. We recently received this submitted as feedback:

It is extremely hard to get any sort of attention to your posts/ page I don’t know if I’m not putting enough tags or what but it just turned me off the the app because it felt pointless. I want people to see my art, to make friends, and to see something besides the same 5 post over and over again.

This felt like a good chance to start a conversation with you all. How do you build your audiences? What are your tips for tagging, blog settings, themes, and paid options? How do you get attention to your posts and pages? How do you get people to see your content, make friends, and see more posts?

But first, we can say that building an audience can be challenging—it’s also a lot of fun, and very rewarding! Using tags, for example, can help reach users who might be interested in your art (if any of your posts has content that is not suitable for minors, please remember to apply Content Labels to your posts). Why not check these pointers below from our old tips blog? But please consider that some features mentioned in that blog are no longer available:

looked around your blog and couldn't find if this had been asked before so apologies if it has been. I've been debating getting into FF7 but there's a LOT of content within its universe and it's very disorienting. Was wondering if you had any suggestions/tips for ppl looking to sink their teeth in it, so to speak. No worries if not, and my apologies for any bother!

There are a lot less “required reading” entries of FF7 than it might seem. As with most things in this life, your best bet is just to go in release order and take it case by case. The original FF7 still holds up so well and you’ll definitely wanna start there before literally anything else. If you have the capability of installing the 7th Heaven mod manager for it you can add a lot of quality of life stuff that makes it a lot more approachable from a modern standpoint, but this is not necessary at all. Once you’ve played or experienced the original title in full in some way, Advent Children and Crisis Core come after, the first being a movie so you can just knock that out in a single night, and the second is a prequel game that tells the full story of a character you’ll learn about in original FF7.

After literally just those two games and one movie youre fundamentally on the same page as a majority of the fanbase and you should be totally fine to play the remake games if that interests you and understand like 99% of the referential stuff that matters. I promise it’s soooo easy and worth it. Have fun!

IDW Starscream x Reader, Soundwave x Reader, Megatron x Reader

• Watching the Seeker coaxing you to lay your head against him, it’s hard for Soundwave to run his servos against your spine and mass displace when you look up at him with those tired, unhappy eyes. When he wants to comfort you. Shivering at the energy drain, he brushes the tip of a servo against your cheek. Hates leaving you when you’re upset, but hopefully Starscream actually talks to you. Makes this right. Because he needs to talk to Megatron. Do everything in his power to make you and your offspring safe. “Fix this,” he growls at Starscream, looming over him as the Seeker curls his lip at him.

• Wanting nothing more than to ask Soundwave to stay, because you’re off kilter and not at all sure where you stand with either of them suddenly, you just curl your hands into fists. Wondering if it’s the bond making you want to reach after him or relax into Starscream. That humming sense of contentment tricking you. How much of what you feel is really you and how much is that bond? You’re honestly afraid to find out. Not resisting when Starscream tips your chin up and Soundwave closes the door behind him. “Let me in,” he whispers, lips brushing yours and it’s not until he shifts the plating covering his spark that you understand. Wants to make sure. Still doesn’t believe you and Soundwave.

• “He didn’t lie to you.” The hurt in your voice claws at him as you struggle against him, trying to lean away. “Do you think I’m lying, too?” Of course not. But he needs to know for himself. Know that Soundwave didn’t fool you somehow. That you are sparked. Catching your wrist, he’s tempted to force you into contact with his spark, but doesn’t. Waits. And your eyes are angry when reach for him, making that connection on your own. And your hurt and fear and anger spill into him, slicing him open like little blades.

• Dragged into him, you don’t resist as he wraps himself around you, tangling inside you until it’s hard to remember you’re separate from him. His thoughts, uncertainties, and fears mixing with your own. Feel when he finds that otherness that’s not you, but still tangled in you. Part of you and him. A spark. Because unlike with Soundwave, you can’t keep Star at bay. Can’t hide anything. And neither can he. Snatching your hand back, you’re aware of him quivering under you and venting raggedly. Servos framing your face as he presses his mouth against your forehead. “Talk to me. Please,” you whisper.

• Cheek brushing yours, his thoughts are all over the place. Trying to figure out what’s happening. How it happened. Because you’d created a spark when there haven’t been any new sparks since the last hotspot was depleted. But then, no one spark bonds anymore, either. Was this possible all along and the knowledge just lost? “We’re going to need a protoform,” he murmurs, lips against your temple. A little Seeker like him. Primus, he’s a sire. And it’s still absolutely terrifying. And he’s not even sure how to separate the spark from you to transfer it to a frame.
