Around 3 years ago, I wrote a crossover fic between reincarnated Kanae and TMNT 2014. It's simple and straightforward, but if I ever were to rewrite it, I probably would try to dive in more with Kanae's trauma and her sister-relationship with the turtles (missing your little butterfly girls? No worries, adopt mutant turtles instead!)

I would start with Kanae's second life parents involved with the Renaissance Project so Kanae and April knew each other. Then Kanae meets up with young turtles and they grow up together.

Why did I do this story? Just for funsies :3

if you are writing for Tmnt 2012, please have a reader who reciprocates the feelings of a turtle (leo, rpah, donnie, mikey) after their confession but does not want to be in a relationship with him for fear that he will lead Krang or Shredder straight to their hideout.....how do the turtles react, do they try to dissuade the reader from this idea, or do they emphasize their decisions

Leo was conflicted. Sure he’s no expert when it came to relationships but he thought you felt the same. 

No. 

He was sure you liked him back. 

It didn’t make sense, but in that moment he couldn’t oppose. And simply accepted your rejection. 

At first it wasn’t noticeable to you how much this affected him. In fact, he seemed to be improving in everything.

Yet the emotional drainage and him getting sloppy from the burnout almost lead to one of his brothers getting seriously injured on a mission.

That’s when the line was crossed and he’s determined to find you. 

He has questions and needs answers.

Doesn’t matter the time or your current location this man would spend hours tracking you down. When he does inevitably find you home he taps your window awaiting for you to let him in.

“Leo?!” You unlock the window, “What are doing here?! It’s still daylight.” You look around whisper shouting as you pull him indoors. “I swear if there isn’t a good reason for this I’m telling Splinter.” You huff out after closing the blinds.

But as you turn around your eyes meet together, his gaze filled with yearning and pain. Guilt claws your stomach knowing you could’ve accepted… but you didn’t.

“You seem to be doing well.” 

He’s smiling,..but he’s no longer looking at you. “Can i know why you rejected me?” 

Your heart drops a bit, and you relent. He hears you out. Tries to convince you that wouldn’t happen, he wouldn’t allow it.

But if you persist he drop the topic. After all, he never came to change your mind. He came for answers, and that’s what he got.

Yet there’s something you didn’t think of, you technically admitted you liked him as well. This motivated him to continue perusing you, to prove to you he can protect those he care about. 

And with time he hopes you’ll trust him enough to let him love you fully.

Donnie wasn’t lacking when it came to intelligence. But another thing that he has in common with his brothers, other than being well, mutant turtles, was that he certainly lacked experience in the romance area.

And after learning that what he felt for April wasn’t true love, more like an obsessed attachment, he decided to understand his emotions better.

so when the time came, he knew what he felt for you was love, and he knew you felt the same !

which is why your answer broke him.

he was so sure he did everything right.

he learned to build healthy relationships, took his time to get to know you, saw that you were also interested, and he took a chance.

upon hearing your answer he probably would just say okay with a shaky breath. And later that night analyze every little detail.

his search to find what he did is so thorough it takes him days to realize he needs to confront you.

when he does you immediately are fretting about how tired he looks.

his eyes red from dryness, big bags under his eyes, and turtle skin a pit on the paler side.

“Donnie ! Are you alright !?” your softer hands than his inspecting him “you seem very unwell.” Your brows frowning and eyes filled with concern. “That’s it. I’ve decided,” you grip his hand, “Ima make sure you rest, even if it’s the last thing I do.”

heh,…. It’s almost as if you do like him back.

“say, why did you reject?”

….

It was hard, but even you couldn’t keep it from him any longer. So you confessed, “It’s not because I don’t like you. I actually really do. I’m just worried.”

after finding out the real reason and hearing your explanation he quickly pulled you to a hug. Wrapping his arms around you, you can feel his breath on your neck.

“oh (y/n), I’m sorry you had to deal with this burden for so long.”

a wave of peace hitting you harder from being understood. You warp your arms around him as well. “I didn’t know what else to do.”

“That’s alright , i think your decision is logical. You are very brave for dealing with the cards you’ve been handed.”

letting go as you step back to see his face, “please, i feel more like im trapped between the wall and the sword, and if i don’t get hurt the person most important to me well end up suffering the consequences.”

knowing that your word hold some truth, he gently caresses you face.

“Well then, I guess you’re lucky the person most important than you is in charge of security.” Tilting your head he explains, “think about it. If you’re worried about being followed then all i have to do is amp up our security measures.”

taking another breath he can see your worry calm down a little.

“Don’t worry, we can work on this together.”

Raph would be shattered. 

The date had been going well, thanks to the help of his brothers and April, you were enjoying yourself. 

“I don’t understand (name), there’s got to be reason right?” He was desperate, searching but your eyes held no response. 

“I promise it’s not your fault.”

But what was he supposed to think when he heard that. It’s cause he’s mutant right. Of course how could he have been so stupid.

It would have never worked out.

He lets you leave, no other words spoken. Out of all the brothers he’d probably get more silent after this. Wouldn’t contact you, straight up avoid being around you for too long, and leave the room whenever you were mentioned. 

It wasn’t cause he blamed you. Rather he knows if he stays any minute longer he’ll breakdown. 

Many months would pass until he spoke to you again. Well technically you approached him. If only you knew the pain of wishing for your love.

You knew he liked you, and you still treated him the same. It bothered him. Shouldn’t you be more considerate? Can’t you see he’s trying to leave? 

But you don’t let him. 

“What’s your problem name!?”

You back off, he’s sheds a tear before aggressively rubbing it off. “Sorry. I need to attend something.”

Honestly if you were to tell him the real reason for your decision it would be out of your own pain and yearning.

It would be no easy task to tell him. 

When he finds out the truth he’d hug you tightly. Saying something along the lines 

“Idiot there’s a reason you have me.”

Mikey would think you’re joking at first.

“wait—you’re being serious?”

The glare you give him is more than enough for him to get the memo. Though he still doesn’t believe you don’t want to date him, and he’s internally panicking so he impulsively starts hitting on you even more.

“Oh cmon love, no need to be so stingy. I mean look,” he points to his pouty face, “how could you eversay no to a face like this?” 

“..Okayy not in a mood for jokes. Noted. But you should be more serious as well, especially with my heart in your hands.” 

You give him the opposite, “i mean it Mikey. I’m not play around this time.”

He drops the act and steps closer, “Well I’m not playing either (name). Can’t you tell me at least why?”

After explaining yourself Mikey would point out both pro’s n cons to the decision. 

Like how even if you’re not dating they still face danger, and he’ll keep feeling the same way. And if you dated he’d have a reason to be more careful. 

Basically he talks out all possibilities with you, and out of all the brothers he resolves this issue the very same day it approached.

Maybe out of fear you still would reject him but he wouldn’t pressure you. This guys is paciente, and for you he’d wait his whole life if needed.
