There are good things in the world still

Today, one of my good friends survived her knee surgery.

Today, my little spiny flower mantis, Whiskey, showed off how SCARY (big, very dangerous) he can be (adorable) by threatening the camera, and I got a nice shot of it!

Today, I got to see The Fifth Element on the big screen for the second time in my life. It was phenomenal and the theater had a lot of other people equally excited to see it- people who could recite the lines and laugh freely. At the start, there was a message from the group putting movies of yore on the big screen, and the message accidentally played twice. Someone in the theater said loudly "Let's see if it plays again..." and I responded "I don't wanna be in this time loop!" and got a good laugh from the others there. I think (and hope) it set the mood for a relaxed theater.

Today, I got to eat delicious Thai food with a good friend before the movie. She'd never been to this particular restaurant, and seemed very pleased with it.

Today, I gave quail eggs to my neighbors as a thank you for locking up my birds for the night while I was at the movie.

Today, I was dreading re-running laundry because I had been avoiding it for three days now, thinking I had left a load in the washer that would be stinky now. When I finally did go down, I found that past!me had already moved the load to the dryer, and everything was fine! Thank you, past!me.

I fell asleep damn but yeah, i managed to finish this last night for day 14! I was VERY into it; I didn't even start day 15 ;n; but this handsome demon was just too distracting I suppose, lol. I'm pretty happy with the outcome tho!

I love when I have to dog sit for my mum and the older dog (she is turning 16 in two months and generally tends to look like reanimated mediocre taxidermy) decides to have a 24 hour sleep cycle that consists of me going to fetch her every three hours to go to the bathroom and bribing her into accepting one (1) dental treat

I have to assume she completely exhausted herself by crying nonstop in a car for four hours the day before

But like. Does she HAVE to act so deeply suspicious that I am trying to assassinate her by poisoning her food

#my dogs #Sasha #she has gotten up today and even barked!#AND she’s eaten both her dental treat and some actual dog food #very proud of her bc she goes on hunger strike at the drop of a hat #my coworker the other day was like ‘dogs are more food motivated than cats’#which might be generally true but not in this household!!#I have to lock the cats away so they don’t eat the dogs food before they can #oh wait live update she is also drinking !!!#Sasha is ancient but apparently plans to live forever #every time I go wake her up to pee I have to make sure she’s still breathing #she’s not sick or anything she’s just that old #Yorkie lifespan is 13-16 and mini poodle is 13-15 so #she is ancient
