The fact that 4/7 of the traitor primarchs immediately got wings after becoming daemon princes makes me think that the genes for that were already there. 🤔 Either that or it's more of a spiritual echo that they all share since they're made from parts of the Emperor. I can imagine that after spending enough time in the warp, all the primarchs would grow wings at some point.
