Useful links for (graphic) design
'sup folks, I've compiled a list of links of websites and tools that are useful for designing stuff! They're divided in different sections.
Tumblr media
FONTS - All of them are free and easy to use, unless otherwise stated.
https://www.freefaces.gallery/
https://www.fontshare.com/
https://dirtylinestudio.com/freebies/ (These are the free versions only for personal use, so no selling stuff with it)
https://velvetyne.fr/
https://usemodify.com/ (Make sure to check the license to see if it's free to use)
Tumblr media
COLORS - Helps you pick colors in different ways
https://colourcontrast.cc/ (Helps you see if your font and colors provide enough contrast)
https://picular.co/ (Type a prompt and it will give you colors associated with that prompt)
https://pigment.shapefactory.co/ (Gives you a wide selection of dual color palette's that have a lot of contrast)
https://t-o-n-e.com/ (Gives you color palette's that have the 60-30-10 applied to it)
Tumblr media
LOGO INSPIRATION- Searching for logo inspiration
https://logosystem.co/ (Gives you a big variety of logo's)
https://dribbble.com/search/logo (Dribbble also shows other stuff than logo's)
Tumblr media
GENERAL USEFUL LINKS - As the name says
https://freedesignresources.net/ (Here you can find a lor of free stuff like vectors, images, font's etc.)
I'm going to update as I learn and use more of them later down the line on this website that I made: https://design-links.carrd.co/ .

I think if you write for therapeutic reasons the hardest part is thinking about which character of which story should you give your trauma to.

please please please Im begging people to actually pay attention to word choice and wording - its a bit obnoxious to call yourself an above average writer and then you can't even branch off from basic vocab words, I've literally read pieces of fiction posted on AO3 better than some of the books that have been published (especially those AO3 authors that have a disclaimer of 'english isn't my first language, sorry for any misspelled words' and then its the best thing you've ever read that whole year, you know what I'm talking about) - people really need to go back to focusing on words, their meanings, and their synonyms if they're wanting to be a decent writer, using 'said' 10 times in a row (especially if everything else about the writing is lackluster) is bland, but it also depends on the style and mood you're going for; I'm not saying that its bad to have a starting point, its not, its bad if you stay at that starting point but then act like you've made progress and are better than you actually are
50 WORDS TO USE INSTEAD OF “SAID”
Do you ever find yourself over-using the word “said” in your writing? Try using these words/phrases instead:
stated
commented
declared
spoke
responded
voiced
noted
uttered
iterated
explained
remarked
acknowledged
mentioned
announced
shouted
expressed
articulated
exclaimed
proclaimed
whispered
babbled
observed
deadpanned
joked
hinted
informed
coaxed
offered
cried
affirmed
vocalized
laughed
ordered
suggested
admitted
verbalized
indicated
confirmed
apologized
muttered
proposed
chatted
lied
rambled
talked
pointed out
blurted out
chimed in
brought up
wondered aloud
(NOTE: Keep in mind that all of these words have slightly different meanings and are associated with different emotions/scenarios.)

My Journey with Two DIY Projects
Daily writing promptDescribe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.View all responses Back in 2014, I started a passion project called 365 Days of Typography. The plan was simple—share quotes I had written in typography format, designing everything from scratch. I was so excited about it, but life got busy, and like so many creative projects, it ended up on pause. Even though I’m…

Something I wrote-
'Priyam became to me a figure of mythology, not in the distant and terrifying sense that keeps someone up at night in terror of what comes next, not the type used to justify genocide and false superiority that sucks all sense of optimism from life, but the type of religion one clings onto with every fibre of their being when they recall their own humanity. The type that gives hope and beauty and meaning to existence. His was the image I conjured when I thought of churches, sacred spaces and prayer, of spirits, hope and love. I had fashioned him in my mind into my own deity and I didn't mind religion one bit once I'd realised this.
I would gladly sacrifice all I had to him and I needed no miracles to justify it. Every breath he took was a miracle in its own right, every time he allowed me to speak his name was a prayer answered.'
- Isaiah, As they say
