i’m challenging myself to keep all these at either 127 or 1,270 words each, see day one for more of an explanation!

It started with a text.

One that Eddie probably hadn’t even meant to send him, but there it was in black and white. Well, grey and white, actually.

It came in late, really late, like 2:43am late. And then Eddie didn’t even ask about it. Hell, Steve doesn’t even know if Eddie even knows he sent it, they’re together so often it’s rare that they even need to text.

There’s been a boulder of butterflies in his gut ever since he woke up that morning and read it. 

Did Eddie have feelings for him?

Did he have feelings for Eddie?

A week after Eddie’s text, Steve decides he definitely does.

Then he sends a response.

Just something I've thought about that would lowkey make Milgram more of a hell

What if the milgram prisoners who changed the least (Muu, Kazui, Kotoko) could see the past trials' prisoners? Like, for example

They don't see just one Yuno, Fuuta, Amane and Mikoto, but instead they see three of them. While Yuno, Fuuta, Amane and Mikoto can no longer see Haruka, Mahiru and Shidou, the other three can see two of each.

Depending on which one they spend most time with, the more likely it is that the time will revert back to trial 2 or 1, looping the Milgram experience. For example

Muu sees three Yunos, T3 Yuno even reassembling Rei (although unintentionally). If she doesn't want to basically see Rei for entirety of this trial, she will have to get close to T1 or T2 Yuno. Same goes for two Harukas she sees, and she should especially focus on discouraging T2 Haruka from doing as he promised.

Now, lets say the other two prisoners aren't interacting with other copies and it's just Muu interacting with Yuno and Haruka. If she interacts with primarily T2 ones, the time loops back to T2. If she talks to T2 Haruka but T1 Yuno, T2 and T3 Yuno start to fade away.

Basically, interacting with the past prisoners reanimates "the ghost" in a sense. Most interactions with T1 prisoners would restart the Milgram back to T1, and most interactions with T2 prisoners restarts the Milgram back to T2. Equal amount of interactions results in the versions of prisoners that had less interactions becoming faded, but otherwise still there. If it's mostly interactions with T3 prisoners, the T1 and T2 versions dissappear.

This can be both a positive in the sense that the dead prisoners can be brought back to life, but also a negative because there's no way to know how much simply trying to get close to a prisoner (even if they don't like the said prisoner or, hell, straight up distrust them) would affect their personality and therefore their fate. If they remain the same, they'll likely just get voted the same way again.

Muu and Kotoko basically hold the most power here on whether there's any change. Muu has to not only discourage Haruka from going through with his promise, but also overall change her personality so she herself avoids getting guilty again. And Kotoko can't beat up the prisoners who get voted guilty again.

And that's exactly where the trap is to create this into endless loop; neither Muu nor Kotoko changed in their beliefs and they still behave the same way.
