getting increasingly frustrated that i have yet to hear back from support. all my mutuals but one can see my posts. and i cant see theirs either. how does that happen? and so randomly and out of the blue???
i'm very close to archiving and moving this blog to a new space to see if that helps. its an absolute last resort but if it does happen i'll post again on the matter.

I thought I'd put my biodiversity class and biology major to use and talk about the logistics of Isu and human crossbreeding for a second because from a biological standpoint, it makes no sense if they're a different species.
I was taught that what makes one species different from the next, very similar species, is the means of reproduction. Specifically, who can reproduce with who.
For example a dog cannot crossbreed with a cat, so they are two different species. A germn shepherd can reproduce with a great dane so they are the same species.
However a lion and a tiger, who are considered to be two different species, can crossbreed and have healthy offspring. So why are they not considered the same species of animal? It's grandchildren. The key to identifying a species is if the offspring of those two different animals can produce viable offspring, thus bringing grandchildren into the world.
In the case of a lion and a tiger, they might be able to produce a healthy Liger, but that liger will never produce viable offspring that are capable of survival. The same thing with Donkeys and Horses making a Mule. Mules are completely infertile.
With this explanation out of the way, I think I've set the stage for my argument. The isu and humans are the same species.
Hear me out:
Desmond miles, Clay Kaczmarek, William Miles, Ezio, Altair, Conner, and all sages are said to have isu DNA in them. This means that an Isu would have had to of crossbred with a human at some point in their genetic history.
And the fact that the isu and the human were able to make a viable child, and then that child was able to produce viable offspring, it insinuates from a biological standpoint that the Isu and Human races are the SAME species!!
So by extension, this means that this superhuman race of people were using a "less evolved" version of themselves as a labor force and thought themselves above them.
The isu felt a false sense of superiority, and this is something they would have known considering they're smart enough to calculate millions of events and set up dominos to elicit a single outcome over thousands and thousands of years.
So, it makes no sense why they say they're a different species of beings than that of a human from a biological standpoint, considering they were able to reproduce with human beings from the very beginning. Their sense of superiority is completely unearned, and Juno is just a megolomaniac racist lmao

The fact that there’s a handful of “Jason Grace ends up in Hotel Valhalla”-fics is extremely entertaining to me purely based on how possible it is? You don’t have to have any connection to Norse mythology to go to HV after you die. Mortals can end up there. That’s an established thing. Nothing states that you can’t end up there just because you’re the kid of a god from a different pantheon.
The only requirements for ending up in Hotel Valhalla are dying bravely and with a weapon in your hand, both of which apply to Jason. Maybe one of the valkyries saw his lightning powers and assumed he was a Thor kid.
Jason has no idea how he keeps ending up on pantheon crossover of the week, but he’d really like to get off that show, please and thank you.

Basim Across Timelines: Mirage vs Valhalla vs Modern 🔎 (open to discussion)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mirage Basim
Age & Experience: Young, passionate, eager, impulsive. Still becoming/growing.
Motivation: Wants to belong. Seeks meaning, justice, purpose and identity.
Personality: Passionate, emotional, idealistic, curious, impulsive, quietly hopeful.
Emotional Depth: Wears his heart quietly on his sleeve. Emotions close to the surface, not fully processed.
Connection to Loki: Hints and dreams, fragmented visions, haunted but unaware.
How he loves: Awkward, shy, desperate and starved for affection he doesn’t believe he deserves, clumsy but sincere.
Fears: Being left behind, being “nothing”, being insignificant, forgotten, alone or rejected.
Trust: Hesitant but possible, given cautiously, broken easily.
Biggest Conflict: His own identity, Who is he really? vs the role he’s expected to play. (این بیتی؟ من انا؟/where’s my home? Who am I?)
Symbolic Role: The seeker of truth, searching for his path.
Tone & Dialogue: Curious, emotional, sometimes uncertain. Often asks questions to understand.
Intent & Purpose: Seeking identity, meaning and justice. Driven by a need to belong.
Skills: Still learning, excellent at stealth, parkour, quick thinking.
Position in the Hidden Ones: New recruit of the Hidden Ones. Initiate. Apprentice.
Human Relationships: Craves connection, specially with his Mentor and friends. Builds bonds slowly but genuinely.
Worldview: Idealistic with a tinge of doubt and guilt. Believes change is possible.
Valhalla & Modern Basim are just down below: ⬇️
Valhalla Basim
Age & Experience: Older, mature, calculating, forged by betrayal and hardened by pain. Already became.
Motivation: Wants revenge. Seeks closure, maybe even chaos. Justice warped by pain.
Personality: Cold, intense, calculating and sharp. Logic over sentiment.
Emotional Depth: Burying emotions under layers of control. Deep emotions buried under iron discipline.
Connection to Loki: Fully awakened. Wears the burden of duality. The voice inside has a name.
How he loves: Silent, fierce , protective, his love is strategy and instinct. Quiet but he overprotects more than he speaks.
Fears: Losing control and becoming someone he can’t come back from. Losing himself to revenge or to Loki.
Trust: Rare. Earned at great cost and once earned, unshakable and defended with fire.
Biggest Conflict: The weight of what he knows and what he’s become. Who he is vs what he’s become.
Symbolic Role: The ghost in the machine. Watching. Waiting. Pulling strings. Loki guiding him. (Basim and Loki aren’t the same. Two different individuals, okay?)
Tone & Dialogue: Calm, sharp, layered with hidden meaning. Speaks less but every word is loaded.
Intent & Purpose: Seeking revenge, truth and cosmic justice. Purpose has hardened into resolve.
Skills: Master of deception, combat, stealth and manipulation. Deadly and precise.
Position in the Hidden Ones: Mentor of the Hidden Ones on an exile. Veteran, rogue. Has distanced himself from the hidden ones. Independent.
Human Relationships: Keeps people at a distance. Loyalty is rare but unbreakable when earned.
Worldview: Cynical. Sees the world as a system to be manipulated not mended.
Modern Basim
Age & Experience: Ancient soul in a modern shell. Centuries of knowledge and scars.
Motivation: Balance, manipulation. Preparing for what’s to come.
Personality: Controlled, detached, as always ten steps ahead.
Emotional Depth: Emotions turned into strategy, still present but weaponized.
Connection to Loki: Symbiosis or struggle? Hard to say. The line is blurred and he may no longer care. Have made peace with the duality inside. Basim seems to be in control of the body. Still, Loki’s motivations, rage and past relationships are clearly steering many of Basim’s modern day actions.
How he loves: Purposeful and intense. Love becomes survival —ruthless but real.
Fears: Losing control or worse; losing humanity.
Trust: Practically nonexistent at this point but if given, it means everything.
Biggest Conflict: Who he serves vs who he used to be and whether he still cares.
Symbolic Role: The keeper of truth and its consequences. The judge and holder of knowledge. (I’m not sure if Modern Basim has completely handed over control to Loki, if they still coexist somehow or if Loki is partly gone.)
Tone & Dialogue: Measured, deliberate, almost surgical. Rarely speaks more than necessary.
Intent & Purpose: Managing outcomes. Balancing agendas. Driven by foresight more than feeling.
Skills: Ancient assassin with modern tech expertise. Efficient and unpredictable.
Position in the Hidden Ones: Cooperates with William Miles. Operates independently. Wields knowledge like a weapon.
Human Relationships: Detached. Relationships are either tools or vulnerabilities. (rare exceptions may exist)
Worldview: Coldly realistic, burdened by knowledge and duality. The world is cruel but not without design.

"We filmed all 3 seasons of Vikings: Valhalla during the COVID-19 pandemic; all BTS shots will illustrate this with our wonderful crew and SAs clad in masks. This greatly complicated budgetary ambitions and time constraints, and yet we made 24 episodes of high-octane period drama. None of this would have been possible without the commitment and (real-world) sacrifices of our crew - both those on the sound stages and those in the offices. Thank you. I was also fortunate to be one of my profession allowed to work during the crisis - many actors were far less lucky. And yet even the lucky ones were often torn from family members (some newly born), or forced to make hard decisions. Now concluded, it’s hard not to view VV without contemplating the real-world context of the production, and for that, it’s an especially important landmark in my career and a credit to all who worked on it. I hope to return to my “Irish Viking Family” again in the future."

I loved Mirage, but part of me can't stop thinking about what we might have gotten if it had remained a DLC for Valhalla. OR if a DLC for Valhalla followed it.
I imagine when Hytham was called back to Alamut to report on Basim, he asked the one person who knows exactly what happened to his mentor to join him. Eivor - his friend.
Eivor, of course, accepts. She'll do anything Hytham asks.
They go, together, to Alamut.
While the two get tangled up in the politics of the Hidden Ones and solve whatever intrigue or mystery awaits them in the Arab world, they could have a chance to work together, side by side. While Hytham might be limited by his injuries, he's still a capable assassin, scholar, and warrior. I believe Eivor wholeheartedly respects his capabilities. She might even have to lean on him, let him take charge. It's a strange feeling, but not unwelcome. It might be nice for her to have someone to truly rely on, for once.
Imagine them getting a chance to walk in Basim's footsteps. Visiting the House of Wisdom in Baghdad, that Basim was so fond of. Seeing the great Mosque of Samarra, wondering what man his father was. Hytham would get a chance to handle his grief. Eivor might mourn the loss of a friend with him.
Imagine if Eivor could learn who Basim was. If she finally learnt of Loki. Would she forgive Basim his momentary lapse of madness? Would she understand it, knowing what Odin had done to Loki and Fenrir? This knowledge, would she share it with Hytham? Would he think her mad?
The friendship - or relationship - between Eivor and Hytham that could evolve, their connection deepen. What if this, these events, could be what made Eivor accept Hytham's offer to join the Hidden Ones? What if she, in part, inspired the changes Hytham would implement in the organisation?
It just frustrates me how much potential was lost here...
It frustrates me that they cut Eivor's journey short - and poorly, at that.
I just want to see more Hytham qwq
And I want Eivor and Hytham going to Alamut together. qwq
