"I feel like I have a raging fever right now. I feel like I have the worst flu of my life."
We all do, Brennan. That's the vibe.

The H5N1 (bird flu) virus is going around, and cats are proving especially susceptible to it. A big cat sanctuary in Washington state had TWENTY of their big cats (cougars, tigers, etc) die of bird flu.
There have also been cases of indoor-only domestic cats getting sick or even dying of bird flu after contracting it from raw cat food. And of course coming into contact with birds also puts your cat at risk.
To keep your cat safe:
Keep them away from birds, preferably keeping them entirely inside. If they are indoor-outdoor then remove any bird feeders from your yard to make cat-bird contact less likely.
Do NOT feed them raw food of any sort, including freeze-dried raw food. Freezing will not kill the virus!
A lot of raw pet food companies are using PR speak to assure customers that their raw food is safe. Remember that at the end of the day their priority is to make money and stay in business. Unless they are testing every bird carcass for the virus their assurances are meaningless, and they certainly are not testing every bird because it would be too expensive.
Cooking kills most viruses and bacteria, including H5N1.

The Princes and the Princess of Mirkwood
Ok, so, I ignored the will of the people and did what I wanted when it came to Thranduil's kids. In my head there are 4 total, all of which are cool and awesome and magnificent, and so freaking adored by the people.
(from left to right)
Hadriel (4,278 years old) is the only daughter of King Thranduil and the head of the royal guard. She is a kind but fierce warrior, considered the best, second only to her father.
Aendir (4,893 years old) is the eldest son of Thranduil and the Crown Prince of Mirkwood. Where Thranduil is hard and stubborn, Aendir is soft and open. He is a truly worthy prince.
Caelreth (3,906 years old) was the youngest son and, as third in line for the throne, has devoted himself to his books instead of weapons. He is often underestimated for his love of knowledge, but there are few better at uncovering information left in Middle-earth.
Legolas (35 years old) was a happy accident, born just a few years after the Battle of the Last Alliance. He is the youngest and the last elf to be born in Middle-earth. Elves are not usually born in times of turmoil, but in the brief years when the Elves believed themselves free of Sauron, he was brought into this world. A final blessing, as Mirkwood sees it.
Of course, Thranduil loves them with all his heart, so deeply that it brings tears to his eyes when he thinks of them.

So, I know I'm a little (very) late to the AvA stuff, but I was rewatching AvM Season 3 for the seven hundredth time and, well, I noticed something and I'm curious to know if it's been discussed before.
AvM Episode 29, Purple's story, specifically, Pink's death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her color changes as she dies, or is represented to have died.
It fades to grey.
Tumblr media
Now, the question is, can we, or rather should we, use this to infer anything lore-related? Was this just an artistic choice to depict the act of becoming unhealthy/dying, or could this be what actually happens to stick figures that die over a period of time? Are their colors linked to their health?
Let's have a bit of fun with it, and presume that the fading of one's color can happen to a stick figure for health-related reasons, as the scene could imply.
This fading seems to involve loosing the saturation of one's color into grey. Saturation is how vibrant a color is, and the complete lack of saturation is greyscale.
The World-of-Alan reason for Pink's death is that she 'got sick', which is where the health connection of this theory comes from. If she did loose her color as she was dying as the notes depict, that loss of color was likely a result of her failing health rather than any other factors, like age or outside variables. A whole bunch of human body stuff are indicators for good vs poor health, including skin color (jaundice and cyanasis are good examples) so why not a stick's color for them?
What if, when they fully die, they lose all of their original color?
Now, let me propose this…
Who else do we know of who has had their color loose vibrancy?

What if Victim's color has lightened because he's ill?

You guys know those at home COVID tests have a very high false negative rate, right?
Please tell me you know this. It's important that you understand that testing negative does not mean you don't have COVID or that you aren't contagious.
Also, if someone you live with has the same symptoms as you and tests positive, you should assume that you also have COVID.

whenever ppl try to brush off flu shots, I wanna be sympathetic... but also so many of my friends have had asthma and lung issues and I have seen many many times what catching a respiratory illness can do to them. and I know its annoying and might not be a bother to you as an individual, but you could get someone seriously hospitalized from your illness. or worse.
in the US, if you have health insurance, it probably covers a vaccine. if you dont, there may be programs or services that cover the cost for you. there may be state programs for uninsured ppl, health departments might offer vaccines for free during flu season, community clinics might offer free/cheaper flu shots, etc etc. I know it may not seem like a big deal for ppl who wanna skip out, but i really want y'all to know that if you can do it, this is a really easy way to save lives.
