He tries his best to decipher what you’re saying, spending the most time in conversation with you to learn word by word

Fjord

Traveling on the seas has taken him across many different lands but he’s stumped when hearing your conversation

Ironically, the way he’s learned different languages is sea shanties so if he ever heard you singing a local song from home he listens intensely to every word

Essek

Also another bookworm who pours over all his resources, sort of starting his own research to learn about your language

His idea of bonding would consist of hours of listening to you talk, exploring maps and books of Exandria to see where it hails from

Jester

She’s picked up on different accents and dialects from her old home so her interest is purely innocent towards you

In a casual environment, she repeats certain words she hears just to know what they mean and likes how it roll off her tongue

Yasha

Naturally drawn to you as her curiosity is piqued. She feels a closeness to you, especially in navigating places

Flowers are a way for her to learn from you, and from each other, the names and types that you like and the ones that remind you of home

Nott

She’s stumped all around but tries to exercise patience in learning a new language

Like with Caleb, she learns and listens intently to you and becomes protective of you as you teach her too

Mollymauk

The circus introduced him to a number of colorful people so he’s bound to pick up words of a language or two

He’ll try his best to learn from you, sometimes learning through dance or art or any jewelry you’ve worn

Beauregard

She may rely on her contacts with the Cobalt Soul to help with any books to help her translate words that might sound familiar

Initially, she might be frustrated because of the language barrier but she tries every day

i love the implication that since the last oneshot, the M9 have stayed together throughout this mess (because Caleb never learned Sending, and them being together is the only reason why Jester would be able to send a message to Imogen right), but i really gotta put my two cents in that i don't think they should've ever really broken up in the first place. maybe it's my polynein brain going brrr, but these idiots are Family. i'd give them a month at best before literally everyone is pestering Caleb to upgrade the tower so they can all live there together.

The whole thing is poetry, not least of all the relationship between Yussa and Marion. They're so sweet and you can feel the affection they have for each other in every sentence. The way they banter and tease each other is adorable and Viet's voice for Yussa is also just so fun (let that old man say fuck! XD) Also, the way the title ties into the fic is just so sweet.

Reccer Says: It's a very niche ship written in a way that feels very authentic to the characters. It also completely got me onboard to the possibilities of said ship! As well as that, it's just a well written, very sweet fic. A great way to get acquainted with what is probably one of Vox Machina's rarest pairings.

Reccer 1 Says: I loooooove Yeza's characterization his dynamic with not just Veth and Caleb but the rest of the nein is great Reccer 2 Says: I always love any story fleshing out Yeza and his personality+motivations, and this one does it so well! His patience and kindness in letting Nott persue Caleb, and then his own developing feelings, are just so endearing and fun to read about.
