Thinking thoughts of vampires again.

I have a post somewhere around here explaining how old looking glasses were made with silver and that’s likely why they couldn’t see their own reflection and because modern mirrors are made of reflective glass they can likely see themselves in it.

Imagine that first discovery being through catching a glimpse of themself in their lover’s mirror while making love. The sudden pause and soft gasp of surprise when they look again to discover features that they long forgotten about, because paintings aren’t always the best indicators of your true looks.

Artists may exaggerate your appearance to fit their own style and tastes, and how were they to know if they truly looked like that anymore? It’s been centuries now, it’s easy to forget something like that when you’ve lived such a long life.

It’s easy to get lost in their newly rediscovered image, busy examining their face and soaking in every detail. It’s easy for their lover to take advantage of their new discovery and teach their vampiric love all the different ways their face twist and contorts in pleasure with every new touch

My good boys.. I want to cry every time I remember the scene with their reunion in the book.. During this reading, I didn't see any spoilers, so I didn't know that Theodore would become a vampire and meet Damian again, so this was the happiest chapter in the book for me. 🥹
