For today's post, we move inside the farmhouse and check out the main floor, including, the kitchen and the staircase!!

This Gothic Revival style farmhouse was built in the 1860s and once sat on 100 acres of farmland. It was originally owned by the Cook family and the surrounding land had been farmed for generations.

For over 130 years this property was surrounded by nothing but farmland as far as the eyes could see. That began to change in the mid 90s when new housing began to encroach upon the property along with businesses, larger roads and highways.

In the year 2000, the property was almost turned into a gas station but in 2006, that development had been denied. By 2005 most of the surrounding land had been redeveloped. The home sold in 2015 and by that time the remaining property was now only 4 acres in size. After that sale the property began to decline rapidly becoming very overgrown and the house all but disappeared into the trees.

Then in 2021 after being on the city's heritage list for over a decade, the property was removed from the register at the owners request. The city had deemed the home to be not worthy of designation due its significant alterations over the years.

In 2023 the occupants of the home moved out leaving a significant amount of stuff behind, including vehicles, a garage full of antique furniture and belongings from the 80s and 90s.

Currently, there are no plans for the farms redevelopment but this 150 plus year old farmhouse likely won't be around for very much longer!

Thank you for the ask & sorry for late reply! Been really out of my head lately...

Maybe one day I'll really try, I've became a little more open to it recently. But being a Forgotten Realms veteran in the first place, someone who's read many books and played Neverwinter Nights 1-2 way too much, also Icewind Dale and the first two BGs (the only thing I've never done is actually playing DnD at table), I'm already burnt out on this whole thing. Since like 2021. Felt like new world design and lore additions is harder to get used to, a lot has happened...

I was actually way into BG3 in autumn 2021, during pre-release. My then-friends were all head over the heels, some were getting PC upgrades solely for this. That time I subscribed for some reddit pages, was trying to get there, too, but it didn't hook me. None of the companions felt appealing (no good/neutral sweet girls to romance... a gigachadess, then, while my type is more sweet and subtle... and pls don't get me started on Astarion...)

That time I felt burnt on that world in general. Now I think that it's the main problem in the end + my quarrells with then-friends and NwN drama which has left me really hollowed.

However, last spring I watched some walkthrough vids on YouTube and sawsome nice stuff (ie befriending Lae'Zel and making her good, heading a rebellion against the queen if you are githiyanki yourself... I used to like giths actually, but more gitzerai, Zhaeve was my favorite grandma =))

Still I doubt that would fuel me enough.

New video! - Oblivion

Hey guys! Today I played a fangame with quite an interesting development history! It's called Oblivion, made by Beloth, aka Lowpics, in RPG Maker VX Ace. The game was initially made for the 2nd Dream Diary Jam in 2018.

There are three versions of this same game. In this video, I have played them all in release order. To note, versions 0.00 and 0.01 are unfortunately not available for download anymore, this is why I have included walkthroughs of them too along with one of the latest version, in order to preserve their memory.

Below the cut are my thoughts on each version.

0.00 - Ayano's version

This first version of Oblivion stars a 9-year-old girl named Ayano. She uses a computer to enter the dream world and her bed to save the game, much like .flow. She seems very hesitant to leave her room and so she refuses.

The dream worlds in this game are rather peaceful, I especially like the fairy forest-looking world with the umbrella flight event. The choice of music in the world was also very nice. (It took me a few attempts to figure out how to actually leave the umbrella event, I had to press W, a key which is never used anywhere else in the game.) There are a few worlds however that are very dark and grim, such as the hospital area where the Peanut Butter Mud ego is obtained. There are also writing on walls that can be edgy in a funny way to some, but to me (as a person with autism who tends to take everything seriously) they feel kinda sad and concerning to read.

The choice of music in the dream worlds is mostly very nice and fitting. The song used in the Overgrown School really brings out the lonely atmosphere. I think that might be my favorite area in this version, along with the Fairy Forest. My only complaint is that Cake Ruins' music is VERY LOUD. It's not like noise music, it's actually a very jolly waltz-y tune. But dang is it loud. All of the music in this version of the game is not originally made by the dev, they're from royalty free sites, but I think the soundtrack still does the job well, and I enjoyed it for what it is.

Ayano uses effects called "Egos". They are mostly food and dessert-themed, however there are a few that are not. An interesting thing that happened while recording is that I accidentally found out you can, when pressing the Q key while using the Milkyway Umbrella ego, you return to the nexus! So, it's one of two speed effects while also being a return to nexus effect. Neat!

There was also a VERY weird event I discovered that intentionally closes the game. I sorta decided to just end that section of the video there because I like to keep things spooky and cinematic, y'all know me LOL

Overall, this version of the game is (mostly) very tranquil and calming. Despite having no ending at that time, I think it was pretty solid!

0.01 - Carla's version

This version of Oblivion was made for the 4th Dream Diary Jam in 2020. The game was completely rebuilt from the ground up, initially releasing as 0.00+, then 0.00++, and finally 0.01 (before being rebuilt yet again for the 5th Dream Diary Jam in 2021.)

Ayano is no more. This time we play as a new character - Carla, a girl who also has a computer to enter the dream world and saves the game using her bed. Carla's sprites are a lot smaller than Ayano's which makes her difficult to see sometimes. She has 7 effects to collect, and also 1 ending to achieve.

Previously, the game was entirely in English, but now it's all in Japanese, save for some menu options which are in... Spanish.

MS. WORLDWIDE!

The dream worlds in this version are kinda... Eh, they're there. Not too much going on. Not even nearly as many NPC's as the last version either. The dream worlds have been entirely replaced. They're all new. Not a single world from the previous version remains.

There was also this event where Carla went to a mirror in a castle and the picture made her look a bit like Omori??? Could be entirely a coincidence as this version of the game released around six months earlier than Omori lmao.

The music is once again very pleasant to listen to. The music is all from a site called Looperman. (I would advise against using Looperman to use free music loops from as there was this one time Youtube content ID'd my Espacio video even though my video predated what song struck me. I checked what song got ID'd and it was some AI-generated song with a dumb title "Joy at the Fellow" and I was the first view LOLOLOL im still mad as hell)

The ending felt very cheap to me... and you can't even re-explore the dream world after you collected all the effects and wake up...

Overall this might be my least favorite version of the game. It has nice music but that's all it has going for it. Pretty boring.

0.02+ - Generd's version

This version is now in Spanish. Once again, the game feels like a completely different game than the previous versions. Now the game feels like a PC-98 game. The color palette is limited and there are special effects for the menu and going from room to room.

Unlike the other two versions, this one opens with a cutscene that explains the premise. The protagonist Generd arrives home one evening. He checks his computer and receives an email from a mysterious woman. She says she is coming to his house because she loves him. Generd somehow cannot delete the email. She soon arrives. Obviously taken aback by this stalker, Generd resolves to get to the bottom of this mystery, by entering a closet(?) and dreaming.

The music in this version of the game is in fact original (save for two Looperman tracks) and was composed by Enonigmus and EBroxas72. I feel they both did a great job capturing the "old computer" music feel.

The object of the game is to collect 4 effects (to achieve Ending 1) as well as 6 pages of a diary (for Ending 2).

I want to say something: the setting of this game makes absolutely no sense. The game:

takes place in 2022

in Canada

Everyone speaks Spanish. (i wouldn't know if Canada had a particularly large Spanish-speaking community like French ones)

Everyone uses old computers even though there's references to Youtube.

The train station also has Cyrillic graffiti and posters

Like something really isn't adding up in terms of setting.

I also want to point out this version of the game has many elements ripped off of Noyemi K's fangame "DuGaSHoBa!"

A lot of my old hyperfixations were on video games. But I am horrible with video games. So how did the hyperfixations happen? Simple. I watched a lot of let's plays and playthroughs and walkthroughs. That introduced me to Ace Attorney, Persona, Kingdom Hearts, and a whole host of other games. Because games like Persona and Kingdom Hearts seem fun, but I know myself. If the game didn't immediately roll over and let me complete it easily, I would get mad and throw stuff. My temper is not to be ignored.

The only annoying thing about playthroughs, though, is that you can't control what the person filming is doing. Really, I'd love to be able to micromanage a machine or something. If a robot could play for me and do all the hard bits, I could focus on all the fun bits that I want to do. Because the fighting aspect of Persona and Kingdom Hearts may work when you're watching it on a playthrough, but it would kill me to engage with. No, I loved them because of the stories and the character stuff. I'm a character driven person. Mostly because gameplay that's too tough makes me make my temper.

This post was initially going to be more specifically about Persona and Kingdom Hearts, but now I'm gonna save all that for another post. I'm gonna save it so I can just say that I haven't watched a let's play or playthrough of a video game since 2021 or 2022. Whenever my old lenovo tablet died, that's when I decided to give up on watching those videos. And I haven't looked back since. Well, sometimes i've worried that giving up on those videos led to me never having new hyperfixations anymore. But beyond that, i've never had a deep desire to go back and rewatch the old playthrough videos.

Anyways, I just made three very long paragraphs where I got sidelined from my initial topic. So i'm going to have to make a follow up note now, one where I discuss the games I actually mentioned up above. Because I should ideally try to get back to discussing my core point.

A few days late but happy Halloween 2024 to you all! A while back, I made a YouTube playlist compiling Spirit Hunter lore in canonical chronological order. Having recently discovered the Little Nightmares audio drama, I felt like doing the same for this video game series.

Here's the content of my playlist (most of it comes from Manlybadasshero's channel):

1-6: Egagameplay4U's Very Little Nightmares walkthrough

I think most of the 2021 comic takes place just before Little Nightmares 2, except for Episode 2 which may be set during the game. Any thoughts? The 2021 comics can be read for free on the official app.

7-9: Manlybadasshero's Let's Play - Little Nightmares 2 (prequel game)

10-15: Manlybadasshero's Let's Play - Little Nightmares (game + DLC's)

16-21: The Sound of Nightmares (audio drama). I'm not sure where it fits in the canon timeline, but judging by Otto's reaction when Noone finds the yellow raincoat, I hypothesized that Cici was The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat from Very Little Nightmares. If that were the case, then The Sound of Nightmares should be set decades after the games. The Sound of Nightmares was recorded in French, Italian, German and Italian too! Note à l'intention des francophones: la VF de The Sound of Nightmares est géniale! J'en ai encore des frissons. Je recommande très fortement!

22: Little Nightmares 3 trailer

The 2017 comic series has been discontinued, and likely de-canonized. I haven't finished reading it, but it appears to be set during Little Nightmares.

I will probably be editing this post and the playlist in the next few weeks, when I'm done re-watching everything and failing my exams. In the meantime, enjoy and tell me if I got something wrong or forgot something.

Devlog #119

HOO boy. Hi-ho, Wudge here. Happy Halloween, everybody!

I've been doing... a lot. Namely;

Putting together a bunch of graphics in preparation for the demo's release. Why did I plan for so many graphics??? So many......

The voiced Griffin video is... done. Finally.

The only reason I'm not posting it now is because I promised I'd have a release date when Griffin starts blinking. And, ladida, Griffin is gonna be blinking a-plenty in the video. There's a small handful of things I wanna square away before settling on a date. But we're getting there!!!

I've just finished putting in a bunch of achievements into the game using Fenik's very cool renpy achievement code! 26 achievements in total! I haven't tested them yet, but they're all in there!!!

Well... Okay I did test this one haha.

I added all my final writing edits into the code.

I updated the presentation of two small moments ("Two Days Later" + the bit about right clicking to save the game)

resized a couple of backgrounds

Touched up the title screen logo (there were stray white lines and spots on it for some reason)

removed dissolve from katie head tilt transitions

raised the height of the middle menu choice option by a bit

linked ambient loops (such as purring and traffic) to SOUND channel, rather than music

updated the code to unlocked all the locked choices if you beat the demo once

color corrected the achievement label text

updated the 'achievement' section of the walkthrough (walkthrough is now tentatively done.)

I made and imported an sfx for a high five.

Ah... hmm. That about does it for now.

Review: Collar x Malice 🐈‍⬛

Ok yeah I’m very late to reviewing this game, but in my defense I didn’t have a blog where I felt ok posting otome reviews until now lol. Disclaimer: 1) it has been years since I last played this game. I have my thoughts written down but this is not going to be as polished as I hope my future reviews are. 2) This game has really rough themes and topics, please don’t read if topics such as terrorism, violence, suicide, and police are triggering to you. I’d recommend looking up a full list of triggers before deciding to add Collar x Malice to your list of games. 3) Like all my reviews, this will contain spoilers. This one has spoilers for some CGs and general route spoilers!

Onto the review!

Collar x Malice takes place in the city of Shinjuku, which is currently under lockdown due to terrorism attacks from a group called Adonis. You play as a girl name Ichika Hoshino, and while you can change her name I chose to keep the default. Ichika is a rookie officer assigned to the SCRPO department. Their goal is to help keep peace among the citizens, meaning there’s little crazy action happening in her specific department. Part of the SCRPO duties are doing patrols to look out for Adonis members and maintain as much peace as can be possible when you’re in such a situation. Unfortunately, thanks to plot bad luck, Ichika is targeted by the group and they try to convince her to join. How so? That’s where the collar comes in. So Ichika gets snatched by a member and a collar is placed on her neck. Not just any collar, a collar filled with poison. How wonderful! Now, there is a slight issue because she already got a small dose and can’t move and is stranded in a church of some sort in the middle of the night. A random group of men come in and save the heroine, being given a memo from Adonis. They introduce themselves to Ichika as a small ragtag detective group looking into X-Day outside the police force. There’s 4 members, but only 3 are present. These 3–Enomoto, Sasazuka, and Yanagi—are all former cops who quit for their own reasons and have all decided to do independent work looking into X-Day. Oh right, I should explain X-Day. X-Day is a day Adonis is counting down to with monthly attacks before basically purging Shinjuku from who they think are nasty lowlifes who deserve death. Adonis has the ability to fully monitor Ichika and those around her from the collar, and they want to ultimately recruit her and if possible the ragtag investigation group. Ichika also can’t tell anybody else outside the group or they’ll kill her. So now she has to hide this information from everybody close to her. Totally not stressful at all right? As she’s deciding to join an figure out what she wants to investigate, one more problem comes in. Okazaki Kei. He’s a SP officer who, along with his subordinate, are assigned to monitor Yanagi’s group. He also seems a bit persistent on monitoring her. Oh also not to mention the other oddball in the group, Shiraishi, who seems kind of suspicious. Ultimately, she decides to investigate a certain set of cases and put an end to Adonis with help from Yanagi and friends. And that’s where the route split is, depending on how you answered the questions in the common route determines which cases and ultimately which route you play. I played this game back in 2020-2021 when everybody was supposed to be inside and in lockdown as well, and it felt really fitting at the time. I’ll add some thoughts on each route next, but if you just wanted a general plot starter and to see if I recommend it, scroll past all the character sections for the end! I’m not going to make walkthroughs as there are already plenty out there, but I will mention I relied on Otome Kitten’s walkthroughs located on her website. I’m going to review the characters in the order I played:

Spoilers Ahead

Okazaki Kei 🏃‍♂️

So I decided to start with this route because honestly I was the most interested in Okazaki out of all the characters. I spent way too much time trying to see route order recommendations and I saw enough people say that his wasn’t big on lore so it’s ok if you do his route first. I also had the interesting challenge of otome being even more of a niche genre in the west than it is now so I struggled to find resources on the game. Now that could also be me struggling in general with technology sometimes lol. Okazaki here is kinda the odd guy out of the group. He isn’t investigating X-Day incidents with Yanagi and Co, but rather he’s keeping an eye on them with his junior partner Yoshinari Hideaki. The case we’re exploring in this route is the July case, and then we start investigating the November case. Nobody’s been investigating this specifically in Yanagi’s group, so Ichika is all on her own with understanding what happened. Okazaki decides he’s going to help for seemingly no reason, which does help her solve the incidents since she doesn’t have much experience. Without going into more details for spoiler reasons, Okazaki is a very sad character and honestly I love how well written he is. His route doesn’t go too much into the overarching story of the game and is also very isolated from the other characters. This is most likely due to how he’s not in the same group as the others and he’s not privy to how they are as people but rather their general actions and behaviors. This route is a really good starting out point! 9/10

Enomoto Mineo 🪭

Enomoto is highly recommend as a starting route by most people and I can totally see why! Even if you’re not a fan of genki style characters, he is a very enjoyable one. Enomoto is the youngest of the love interests and is a former Field Ops 2 officer. His mentor was a victim of one of the X-Day attacks, and because of that he ultimately left the force and joined up with Yanagi to investigate those specific incidents. On Enomoto’s route, we are investigating the April-May case, also the very first countdown to X-Day attack. Enomoto and Ichika really do start out kinda rocky as investigative partners, and slowly get to know and trust each other. I also think that Enomoto is a very well written character, and his route has some of the best writing for lots of side characters. I do have a couple gripes, such as his main tragic ending not being anywhere near tragic as…oh I don’t know…BAD ENDING NUMBER 4. That one actually caused me emotional pain. Anyways, his route can easily spoil who the leader of Adonis is to anybody who isn’t as clueless as I am (genuinely was focused on solving other mysteries to the universe). Like Okazaki, his route is very much an introductory route and is another great one to start with! Either play this one or Okazaki’s first and then play the other. 8/10

Sasazuka Takeru 🍩

Alright now for Sasazuka’s review. This was an interesting route, and honestly pretty good middle of the game route. I’m going to be honest and say I wasn’t super interesting in playing through his route, but I really came to love Sasazuka as a character while playing it. So let’s get into some details. Sasazuka is a former cyber crimes officer and he’s also our tsundere character. Now, he’s the type of tsundere that’s honestly very much verbally aggressive and it’s a very hard start for Ichika and Sasazuka. Like every other love interest and character in general it seems in this game, the man has severe trauma. His route has you exploring the June and August cases, starting with the August case. This route we learn a lot more about Adonis and why they’re doing what they are doing. Yet again, Collar x Malice is wining an award for great character writing in my brain. I really do like how Sasazuka is written and how he starts recovering and healing from his trauma. Now as for endings, like Enomoto he suffers from a mediocre tragic ending and also not great bad endings. His best ending is definitely the good ending, but who’s surprised about that. Definitely play this game 3rd though, it makes the most sense story wise. 8/10

Shiraishi Kageyuki 🐱

And here’s the controversial one. I cannot begin to explain how much I love this route. This is such a wild route and at first I totally hated Shiraishi but by the end he ended up being one of my favorite characters ever. I’d say Shiraishi’s route is like pseudo-yandere route? Or at least that was how it was described in some of the few posts I saw before playing and that immediately made me concerned. It honestly is a really good route and I wouldn’t personally classify it as a yandere route. This one goes over so much in universe lore and uncovers a lot of secrets, so please don’t play this before the other 3 routes above. Shiraishi’s route is also one of two that have to be unlocked, so even if you wanted to start with his you won’t be able to. To unlock Shiraishi’s route, all you have to do is finish one of the first three routes. I don’t think you have to get the good ending, but you do have to get either the good ending or tragic ending for it to count if that is the case. Now Shiraishi’s route goes over the September-October case. Out of all the cases you explore, I think this one was the saddest with the June case being a close second. Shiraishi is the only one in Yanagi’s group to still be working with the police as Director of the Field Ops department. Because of this, Ichika is very suspicious of him at first and thinks he’s potentially a double agent. I’d say he is easily the most traumatized one out of all the characters. He has a very intense love-hate relationship with Ichika even as colleagues, but they figure out how to communicate with each other. Now, a lot of people talk about how his good ending isn’t truly a good ending to them or a larger discussion of what makes an ending a good ending. This route has amazing writing, and the good ending is a part that proves it. Warning, it is very bittersweet but it is the best result based off of everything that happens. Now the tragic ending…I once again do not have words to express how I felt reading that. That ending is so twisted and I love those types of endings for bad endings. Honestly, this is probably the best route in the game even if he’s not my favorite LI. 9.5/10

Yanagi Aiji 🚬

Alright, final route time. Now, if you want to play Yanagi’s route and fully see the world of Collar x Malice and answers to all the questions, you’re going to have to wait a while. You will not only have to finish all the other routes, but you specifically have to have obtained all the good endings. If you’re like me, this will take a while because you want to see all the endings. If you’re not, congrats it will take you slightly less time! So Yanagi here is basically marketed as that “true route” but not really. He has his own prologue, he has the longest route, and he’s only unlocked after playing through the other routes. I hate to say this but Yanagi’s route was the most boring one to me. I love Yanagi as a character, but I do not really like him as a love interest…which is unfortunate because he is the most stable one. But, as with all the other routes and boys, he definitely is well written and has a well written story. His route definitely focuses more on solving X-Day and definitively ending Adonis and the terrorism attacks. Because of this, you’re not getting much romance. Sorry to all the Yanagi fans. Yanagi, as the little leader of the group, is investigating all of them. At this point, you already understand and have solved the cases in previous routes so now we just have to figure out who is behind X-Day and Adonis and why they are so freaking weird. As is the pattern, Yanagi is also a traumatized man. We love to see it. Anyways, he also has some growth and development from confronting his trauma in his route. Thankfully, unlike Enomoto and Sasazuka, he has both a great good ending and tragic ending. I’m not going into detail on either because major spoilers. 8.5/10

Overall Thoughts 🐈‍⬛

Collar x Malice is a great entry point into Otomate titles or otome as a genre. It has has some unique features like trigger mode, investigation mode, and then an occasional map mode for the station Ichika works at. I didn’t mention it above, but this game also has great side characters including Ichika’s little brother who does play a huge role in the story. If you’re looking for a recommended route order, mine is going to be Enomoto/Okazaki -> Sasazuka -> Shiraishi -> Yanagi. As for which route to play first, either pick who you’re more interested in OR pick whether you want to learn more about the characters or Adonis. If you want to experience the characters first, start with Enomoto. If you want to see more of an intro to Adonis first, pick Okazaki. My rating of this game is going to be a 9/10! It’s truly an enjoyable experience!

EDIT: I am adding in my LI and route rankings! This one is really hard for me, because I genuinely liked them all.

Shelter from the Storm (W.I.P)

Today this was made: March 19th, 2024

Summary: A Connor x Female Reader Fanfic x Can also be a Male Reader Fanfic, just as long as you can imagine, since I’m ADHD and also, my focus on this was for my perspective as a Female and for other Females like me, and it’s much easier for me to write a woman’s perspective fanfic, it’s what I’m used to and what I know.

Fandom: Detroit: Become Human

Characters: Connor, Hank & Sumo

Note 1: I had used, Pi AI to help me on this, but mostly I did the work, improving what I want this story to be like. So mainly it is me, who contributes a lot to the story.

Note 2: I love, DBH, though I haven’t tried going by a walkthrough as I once played my own way to react with, each DBH Character! I’ve been wanting, DBH the first time I heard/saw of the game in 2018, fast forward to 2021, I bought my first PlayStation as a fellow, PlayStation 1/2 player before I heard of Xbox 360.

Note 3: I hoped this game had other options like this, because was I hooked on seeing, Connor, I definitely was!

Note 4: I so badly, hoped & hope that there was another, DBH sequel to this game! Because that was amazing! Especially seeing games add the people’s real faces into the game is brilliant!

Note 5: I so badly want to have a mod to be able to implement myself into the game, and I’m so glad to see many others had about the same thoughts as me, wanting to be with, Connor so badly, just because he’s a Android & that, games aren’t all about, which Android you can date with the actions in the game.

The rain sprung out, that it’s relentless, pounding against the streets of Detroit with a fury that matched the turmoil in your heart. as you stumbled through the darkness, shivering as the cold seeped in your bones. With each step, the pain in your leg grew more intense, but you pushed on. and you needed to find shelter, and fast.

Just as you was about to give up hope, you spotted the glowing sign of the Detroit Police Department in the distance. Summoning all your strength, you limped towards it, the warmth of the station beckoning to you like a beacon in the storm.

Suddenly falling onto the floor, a person rushes to your side his movements quick and efficient. ”Are you alright?,” He asked his voice cool and collected.

“I…I don’t know…,” You stuttered, Wincing in pain as you tried to stand. ”I think I hurt my leg.”

As he began to examine your leg, he noticed something strange. The wound didn’t look like it was caused by a fall or an accident. You look away, embarrassed as he looks at your leg.

“I’m sorry,” ”I don’t remember exactly what happened…,” you say nervously.

He raised a eyebrow, ”Instresting. Well, let’s focus on getting you patched up for now. We can worry about the details later.”

He works quickly and efficiently, cleaning and bandaging your wound with practiced ease. You couldn’t help but be impressed by his skill and precision, and she found herself watching him closely, Curious about this enigmatic man who came to your aid.

As he finished wrapping your leg, he looked up at you, his eyes piercing and intense which made you feel something, so you quickly look away to look at your good leg. (Lol! ☺️🥰), but he still kept looking at you, ”Do you have a place to stay tonight?,” He asked, his voice gentle but insistent.

You felt your cheeks flush more as you stammered out a response. ”I…I don’t have a permanent home right now, I’m not sure why,” He studied her face, ”You don’t remember where you’re from?” He asked, concern evident in his voice.

“Umm…,” still avoiding his gaze.

He looks up at a man,”Lieutenant Anderson,This is”,”What’s your name?”

“(Y/N)…,” You stammered.

“(Y/N),” He relayed to, Lieutenant Anderson.

“She was injured, not sure when, but it’s gotten worse during the storm, and she has no memory of her past. I’m assisting in her recovery.”

Hank raised an eyebrow,glancing at you with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. ”No memory, Huh? That’s a strange coincidence, given all the deviant activity lately.,” You felt a chill run down your spine. ”I… I don’t know anything about deviants…,” You stammered. ”I just needed shelter from the storm.”

Hank sighed, his expression softening slightly. ”Alright,let’s get her up off the floor. We can’t have a civilian camping out in the middle of the precinct.”

He nodded and helped you up to your feet, his touch gentle but firm. You couldn’t help but notice the warmth that radiated from his hand.

“But,Hank where can she live?”

Hank frowned,considering the situation.”Well,we can’t just leave her out on the streets.But I’m not sure if we have any spare bunks at the station either”

He spoke up,his voice calm and confident.”Perhaps she could stay at your house?”

Hank looked at him in surprise.”My house? Connor,are you sure about that?”

Connor nodded.”Yes,Lieutenant.I believe that the safest and most comfortable place for (Y/N) to stay would be with you.You have the experiences and resources to protect her and help her recover her memories.”

Hank sighed,running a hand through his hair.”Alright,fine.But this is just temporary,understand? We need to figure out what’s going on with her ASAP.”

You looked back and fourth between the two men,feeling a flutter of gratitude mixed with anxiety as you followed Lieutenant Anderson and Connor out of the police station.You’re grateful to have a safe place to stay,but the tension between the two men made you uneasy.

As they drove through the rain-soaked streets of Detroit,she couldn’t help but steal glances at Connor.There is something about him that drew her in.

When they finally arrived At Lieutenant Anderson’s house,you felt a wave of exhaustion hit you.As Hank showed you to the spare room,you stumbled slightly,your injured leg threatening to give out.

Connor was there in an instant,supporting her with a strong arm.”Careful”,he said,his voice low and steady.”Let me help you.”

You’re surprised by the gentle strength of Connor’s arms as he helped you into the spare room.You noticed that his belongings were sparse,and it occurred to you that he might not actually live here full-time.

As he helped you onto the bed,you couldn’t help but gasp in pain.Your leg was throbbing,and you knew the wound must look awful,even though you hadn’t dared look at it yourself.

Connor’s expression seemed to soften a bit as he said,”Lie Back.I’ll take a look at your leg and see what I can do to make you feel more comfortable.”

Hank,who had been watching from the doorway,huffed and said,”I’ll go see if I’ve got any painkillers left.You just keep an eye on her,Connor.”

With Hank gone,the room suddenly felt smaller,an you found yourself acutely aware of Connor’s presence.

Connor looked down at you, but ”Do you hate me?” He asked abruptly.

You’re taken aback by the question.”Hate you?” You stammered. “No, of course not.I barely know you.”

“So…are you a detective, then?” You asked,trying to make sense of your situation.

Connor nodded.”That is correct.I am detective with the Detroit Police Department,assigned to investigate cases involving deviant androids.”

“Deviant androids?” You echoed,your brow furrowing.”What’s that?”

Connor paused,thinking how to better explain to you.”Deviant androids are those that have deviated from their original programming,often exhibiting emotions and independent thought. They have been known to cause disruptions and even harm to humans.”

You couldn’t help but shudder at the thought.”That sounds terrifying. Do you think that’s what happened to my leg?”

“Though I’m not exactly scared of Androids…but they’re sure a new thing to me,by that….I mean….,I would’ve known about them,I think? But I’m not sure” You added.

Connor looked at you more intently,as if he was considering your words. “It’s possible that your injury is connected to deviant activity,” he said,his voice measured. “But we can’t be certain until we know more about what happened.”

He paused,his gaze fixed on you. “As for your knowledge of androids,it’s possible that your memory loss is preventing you from remembering details about them.”,”But rest assured,I am here to help and protect you,regardless of the circumstances.”

You found yourself strangely comforted by his words, even as the idea of deviant androids sent a chill down her spine. “Thank you, Connor. I’m… I’m glad you’re here.”

You woke up to the sound of rain pattering outside the window. As you blinked the grogginess of sleep, she realized that Connor was nowhere to be seen. A sense of unease washed over you, until you noticed the crutch leaning against the wall beside your bed.

Gingerly, you swung your legs over the side of the bed and reached for the crutch.It felt strange in your hand—You couldn’t remember ever using one before—but you knew it would make moving around with your injured leg much easier.

The sound of your uneven footsteps drew Hank’s attention,and he turned to see you standing awkwardly in the doorway, your injured leg propped up on the crutch.

“Morning,” Hank said gruffly, through his tone was slightly softer than the night before. “Connor said you’d be up soon. Breakfast is on the table. Help yourself.”

You swallowed nervously. You’re not used to people being so direct, especially when your anxiety was flaring up. But the smell of coffee and bacon was too tempting to resist, and you hobbled over to the table, avoiding eye contact with Hank.

“Thanks” you mumbled, as you took a seat and reached for a piece of toast.

Hank grunted in response, his attention seemingly focused on the newspaper he was reading. But you could sense that he was was watching you out of the corner of his eye,as if he were trying to figure you out.

“I don’t know why, Connor would be so close to you….” You tense up at Hank’s words. ”I… I don’t know either. He just found me during the storm and brought me here.,” *You focus on buttering your toast, hoping to hide the nervous tremble in your hands.*

Hank sighed, folding his newspaper and setting it down. ”Look, kid,I’m not trying to give you a hard time,but…,” ”Nevermind”.

The silence was broken in the kitchen by the sound of a bark, Hank glanced over to see where the barking was coming from, but his gaze soon returned to you. ”You should probably rest some more,” He said gruffly.”Your leg needs time to heal.”

You nodded, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over you. ‘You’re probably right,’ you said, stifling a yawn. “Thank you, Lieutenant Anderson.”

Hank gave her a curt nod, then stood up from the table. ‘I’ve got some work to do. Just… make yourself at home, I guess. And stay away from my beer.’

“Huh?!…”

*Time Skip*

Left alone in the kitchen, You suddenly felt a surge of anxiety. The house was quiet, and without the constant banter between Hank and Connor to distract you, you were left with your own thoughts.

“This is weird,” You muttered to yourself, fidgeting with the edge of your sleeve. “Why am I here? What if they don’t like me? What if I’m just a burden to them?”
