Does anyone else get that weird audio hallucination if you are sitting by a running air conditioner or a fan, of voices? People talking or singing, just under the edge of understanding. Today my AC sounded like it was tuned into an NPR Program complete with radio announcer, sea shanties and folk songs and news bites. Again really low so I can't quite make out the words. Turn off the ac the voices stop. The phenomenon can happen when I am actively listening for it or when I'm not, but most common when I'm doing something else like reading or listening to stories.

Reading The Brothers Karamazov (and honestly also The Master & Margarita) has made me associate Christianity with specific book characters. Every time I see Jesus, or especially a quote of Jesus, I think of Yeshua, who reminds me of Alyosha. And this isn't ideal, because I live in a very protestant area, and every time I see a church sign telling me to "Praise the Lord" or be optimistic because God exists, I just think "Aww, Alyosha..." I'm not religious, so the characters really just replaced some of my former associations with the church, (being anti-queer, indoctrination, facing my mortality). And ultimately, I think it's a good thing because it brings me joy and acceptance instead of filling me with loathing. It's just kind of funny.

My brain is weird with capitalization, among other things, like obviously "tumblr" should be soft and lowercase, like a friend, while "Something Very Important" should be capitalized, and "Thing one and Thing two" should have capitalization for separation, and, of course, the good old "I AM YELLING".

Have you ever listened to a song inside out?? When you accidentally interpret it as starting on the wrong beat, so the whole melody sounds different even though it's the same notes? And then suddenly when you realize which beat it was supposed to start on, it flips back and sounds like a different melody?

It's like the auditory equivalent of looking at a drawing of 3D stair steps and interpreting them upside down, and then flipping them right side up without anything actually moving.

Does this happen to other people???

Something I like about Tumblr on my phone is that if I accidentally scroll on the "create post" button, it starts dragging a bunch of other icons with it and then I'm occupied for at least 30 seconds just watching the little icon dragon go.
