hi there, can u write a fic (college au/no blue lock) where reader & isagi are in a relationship, but his roommates slash friends don't know bcs reader always comes over whenever isagi says that his friends (bachira, kunigami, & chigiri) aren't at their apartment, but then get caught one day when his friends went back home early?
ive only stumbled upon ur account recently and i love ur fics/writing!!
omg love!! idk how colleges in japan work, so im just going to model this based on american colleges :D
all characters aged up (20+)! Tags: slightly suggestive and making out!!

➜ you knew isagi yoichi for around 6 months before the two of you started dating, but you'd been eyeing him for all of that time ➜ he was exactly your type- quiet, but the sweetest and most considerate person ever. ➜ he had beautiful blue eyes, was taller than you, and played soccer for the school. holy hell, talk about your personal kryptonite ➜ he was always too shy to ask you out though, so you had to take initiative on that front
You're sitting under a tree with Isagi in the school's courtyard. People are passing you by, heading to their respective classes. All you can think of in this moment though is how nice this is. The summer breeze is brushing his hair perfectly and the sun is making his eyes look like tiny sapphires. He looks like a prince. "Um, [name]?" he asks looking down at you. "Are you okay? You've been really quiet." You blink a few times, snapping out of your trance. You look down at your lap, staying silent for a little while. "Hey, Isagi?" you start. He leans forward and you feel like your heart is a car that someone just revved. "Umm, you don't have a girlfriend right?" "N-no," he stammers, taken aback. "Why?" "Do you," you cut yourself off, taking a deep breath. You meet his gaze and give him a tiny smile as you force the words out of your throat. "Do you wanna go out with me?" Your heart stops as he physically flinches back. "Nevermind!" you quickly say, holding your hands up in defense. "I'm so sorry, just forget all of that-" "N-no! That's not it, I- I do like you," he insists, "I just didn't expect you to ask me out." He lets out a deep breath and chuckles. "I was actually going to try and ask you out. My friends were giving me all this advice on how to do it. You just caught me off guard though. Beat me to the punch, huh?" He takes your hand in his and squeezes it. "But to answer your question, yes. I would like to go out with you."
➜ and that was that! the two of you were a couple. only one thing though- you'd never met those illusive friends ➜ whenever you went over to his dorm- a quad with two bunk beds and four desks, as well as a quite beautiful view of the whole campus through the window- there was no one else there but the two of you ➜ six months went by and not a single glimpse of them! you asked isagi about it once and he gave you a few excuses
"Well Bachira's really close to his mom, so he leaves campus a lot to hang out with her every now and then. She doesn't live too far from here anyways," Isagi explains as he rests his head in your lap. "And then Chigiri has a part time job at a physical therapist's office. He used to go there for himself since he messed up his leg once in an accident a while ago." You nod, running your finger through his hair. "And what about Kunigami?" "Also has a part time job as a kiddie's soccer coach," he says. "Hmm," you smirk and tickle your boyfriend's neck. He flinches and you giggle, "So you're the only one unemployed, huh?" He stiffens and gives you a look out of the corner of his eyes. "No. Bachira doesn't have a job too."
➜ when you finally meet Isagi's roommates . . . it's a mess ➜ after not seeing them enough times, you grew relatively comfortable with the idea that you never would in the dorms, and so did he ➜ he would have you over pretty often, and to be completely honest, sometimes things got a little spicy! ➜ so here you were, sitting on his desk and his standing between your legs. your lips locked in a heady kiss that was making you lightheaded. your tongues lapped hungrily at one another and your teeth clacking ➜ and then the door opened.
"Yoichi~" you gasp as he pulls back from your mouth. He starts to trail kisses along your jaw and neck, sucking small bruises into your collarbone and neck. "Mmm, you're so sweet," he groans, inhaling your scent. He feels like getting drunk off of it. His hot hands trail under your shirt, tracing around your curves. You giggle, but then both of your bodies freeze as you hear the door clicking. Isagi, in a moment of pure panic, tightens his grip on your waist and fucking shoves you off the desk and onto the floor. He was trying to hide you underneath the desk, not wanting his roommates to catch you both in this position, but all he does is just accidentally make you kneel in front of him. Right in front of him. Honestly, it helped enough because now your back is to his roommates, who are no doubt staring at you both as if they just walked in on a porno. Isagi stares at the trio. Bachira looks scandalized, Kunigami looks shocked, and Chigiri looks annoyed. "You couldn't bother locking the door when you have a hookup over?" the pink haired boy asks. "What. The. Hell. Is. This," Bachira says, looking two seconds from passing out. "Bachira, breathe," Chigiri grumbles, walking inside. "At least get her off her knees," Kunigami says, following Chigiri. He comes up behind you and taps you on your shoulder. "Miss-" You, in your panic and fear and shame, cannot think to say literally anything else other than, "I'm his girlfriend, not a hookup." Everyone stops breathing. "His GIRLFRIEND?!" Bachira roars, lunging at you. He grabs you by your shoulders, whirls you around and pulls you up to your feet. Kunigami hits him on the back of his head, "Don't handle a girl like that!" "I-It's fine," you say, waving Kunigami off with a small smile. "I'm so sorry about this. It's just, whenever I've been over, none of you are ever here, so I guess we got a little . . . careless." "You've been here before?" Bachira asks. A thud sounds from behind you and you whirl around. Bachira and Kunigami peek over your shoulder. Chigiri walks up to an Isagi whose cherry red. The embarrassment was just too much for his brain to handle anymore it seems. "Yoichi!" you shout, kneeling next to him. "I'll get him water," Chigiri says, walking to the dorm's mini fridge.
➜ the two of you never live this first impression down. not even at your wedding.

On the topic of mergeswap AUs, most of the ninja could be shuffled around to different Merge scenarios with equally compelling results, but I maintain that by far the most *interesting* swap would be Lloyd-Zane. That is to say, Lloyd gets put in the coma pod while Zane is left alone in the monastery.
Out of all the post-Merge scenarios, I think Lloyd would most severely be fucked up by completely sleeping through it - he wakes up to find that not only is the world different, but his friends have spent *years* struggling to survive without his help. He's supposed to be their leader, their guide, the chosen savior of prophecy. It's his job to look out for them, isn't it? But he wasn't there. The world fell apart, his team is in shambles, and everyone has suffered innumerable traumas as a result...and he wasn't there for any of it. Knowing Lloyd, the self-imposed guilt would absolutely eat him alive. Also, once again he is chronologically displaced - before it was the age of his mind and body being mismatched, and now he is once again missing several years of his life.
(Also I think it's funny if we put Lloyd in Zane's pod specifically, especially if he's still the Conduit. Because that means he woke up, immediately jumped into the fight against Imperium, and then like 10 minutes later volunteered to take on life-changing god powers from some random talking dragon. All without any context for anything that is going on whatsoever.)
As for Zane...god, where do I even start.
So, putting Zane in the monastery is fascinating for a number of reasons.
Out of everyone on the team, the ones who consistently cope with isolation the worst are Cole and Zane. That's not to say the others enjoy it, per se, but they're all at least able to lock in and get shit done as needed, trauma be damned. But Cole is very community-oriented and comes a bit unglued in the absence of a community to rely on (DotD, s10), and Zane...oh boy.
Zane is usually the one to die, so he is rarely put in a position of grieving the others. His only instances of mourning the absenceof a loved one are:
His father, which happened off-screen so we don't know how he handled that initially (he seems to be okay in s3, but knowing Zane he probably just repressed the feeling and moved on)
Nya in Seabound, which he was so ill-equipped to deal with that he turned off his emotions entirely
Pixal in DR, where he was so unable to handle her absence that he straight up stapled a photo of her to a broom and started talking to it. Also with Kai getting lost in superhell, which we don't really see him grieving over but also we don't see much of that from anyone so uhhh I'm choosing to ignore that for now.
Picture it. Zane, alone in the monastery, with none of his friends around and no way of knowing what happened to them. All he can do is sit and hold vigil in the hopes that they will eventually come back (something something Echo Zane lighthouse parallels). I'm not saying Zane would start taping his friends' photos to random appliances by the end of week 1 and cry over his tenth ice sculpture of Pix by week 2, but uhhhh....actually no that's exactly what I'm saying. Provided he doesn't miraculously find a way to get himself killed while chilling in the monastery, I give him like 6 months before his sanity completely unravels.
Another reason for swapping Zane into Lloyd's spot is that whoever is in the monastery at the start of DR also gets to be the mentor to the new ninja. And that puts Zane in a *very* interesting position.
Zane is, on both a meta and narrative level, a support character. He's your medic, your backup, your HQ, and he can even be your damsel in distress. He's not really a leader by nature, and it is rare for him to take charge or assume a position of authority unless the situation demands it of him. He's generally content to sit back and let everyone else take charge - he let Cole take the lead during the prison break in s4, he's one of the only ones not to express pushback when Lloyd officially becomes the leader, etc.
It's actually a bit odd how rare it is for him to lead, bc it feels like everyone else has way more instances of flexing their leadership skills. Off the top of my head, i can think of exactly three occasions where Zane assumes a position of authority:
For about 10 mins in s5, which ends in him glitching out and talking backwards
In s14 when he became Captain Zane, but that was mostly for comedic effect, and authority goes back to Lloyd and Nya once the situation actually gets serious
In s11 when he became Ice Emperor, but he had to be magically corrupted, mind-wiped, AND gaslit in order for that to even happen.
(You could argue he took charge during the Snake Jaguar incident, but he didn’t take charge of the whole team and also it didn't end well.)
All this to say, Zane doesn't have a positive track record with being in charge. Probably even worse, now that he has all that Ice Emperor baggage to deal with.
So what do you do with a character like that? Naturally, you give him a gaggle of wide-eyed children to look after and tell him to teach them how to be ninja. Lloyd was already hesitant to be their master in canon, but Zane would be even worse.
Furthermore, Zane, uh...doesn't really have many friends outside of the ninja (aside from his falcon, who hasnt existed in the show for years). Cole has the Upply and the Finders, Nya is close to Ronin and became good friends with Bentho, Kai has Skylor and Wyldfyre, Lloyd had the resistance and Akita and now the next-gen kids, Jay started an entire cult in Prime Empire and also seems to be on good terms with Unagami, and even Wu is close to Faith...but who does Zane have outside of the team? Vex, maybe? Possibly Borg, even though that relationship isn't explored onscreen? Sally, who gets one whole episode spotlighting her and Zane before vanishing into obscurity?
This even continues in DR, too. Theres a new cast of characters to befriend and connect with, many of whom share a lot in common with Zane, but he doesn't really interact at length with anyone but his old friends and Frohickey.
True, a lot of that can be blamed on Zane's gradual narrative dehumanization depriving him of meaningful personal connections, but in-universe you could also attribute that to his self worth. Zane is so wrapped up in his belief that he exists to serve and protect, and he is so strongly devoted to the ninja that he can be a bit one-track-minded about it. He loves his family so much that he doesn't have time to care for anyone else in the same way. They are his world, his everything, his life's purpose...without them, he is nothing. Can you say "codependent"?
But now, he's alone in the monastery. He doesn't know if his friends are alive. All he can do is sit and pray and hope they come back to him. And after years of waiting, he crosses paths not with his family, but with two new kids. They want him to teach them to be ninja. But Zane is too afraid - afraid of leaving his post, afraid that being in charge will bring out his inner Ice Emperor...afraid of betraying his family by finding a new one.
He does agree to help them in the end, if only because he exists to protect and they need protection. But the whole time, he is afraid, and anxious, and painfully unsure of himself. But just as he teaches them how to be strong, how to fight, how to be brave and kind and selfless...they teach him how to believe in himself. How to reclaim his sense of identity. How to stand on his own without his friends, and how to make new ones. How to live for his loved ones, rather than dying for them.
(And yeah, okay, a small part of it this is definitely spite for the way he's been unilaterally snubbed by DR canon. I won't deny that)
Personally, if I were to write a mergeswap AU that's probably the direction I'd take. But then again, I might just be on some next-level copium and desperately trying to make Zane actually relevant to DR in some meager way
#there are two things preventing me from buckling down and writing the zane-centric mergeswap au in my drafts#1) im currently doing a full series rewatch and im still on ToE#2) maybe i just dont know where to look but it often feels like zane is the least popular character in the fanfic space#and everyone loves dad lloyd. idk if itd go over well to hand that story off to zane instead#ninjago#ninjago dragons rising#dragons rising#ninjago zane#zane julien#mergeswap au#destiny post

How Will and Mike's first kiss could be directed to mirror their platonic-romantic tension and culminate in a romantic plot twist and "gotcha!" moment for the GA. Also, the narrative weight of hugs for Mike...
hear me out… it'd be a fantastic directing choice to maximize mike and will's platonic-romantic tension while preserving the 'mike likes will back' twist for the GA until the very last second by centering it around an intense platonic hug. (skip to the end if you just wanna read my rendition of their first kiss!)
like if instead of suddenly kissing, if during a big emotional moment they shared a super intense but innocent & initially platonic hug that lingered and grew until slowly morphing into a kiss, shocking the GA. a real hug is also what mike and will need so badly; even that is something mike denied himself in the airport scene bc he was already repressing how badly he wanted to hold will. so starting their first kiss with an intimate hug wouldn't just be romantic payoff, it would show how blurred the line between platonic and romantic feelings can be for mike and will. it'd be emotional catharsis, character resolution, and the moment mike finally stops running from the truth: starting with a simple hug (it'd validate mike's fear that a mere hug from will is the gateway drug to dangerous uncharted gay territory which would be kind of hilarious lmao). iirc the last time they shared a real hug was at the end of S3 when will moved and we got that scene of mike looking sadly and longingly at the car driving away, then the byers house, and then the shot of him devastated while getting a hug from his mom just like he did in S1 when he thought will died. and then we get that ridiculous ass half-hug at the airport in S4. so my point is, hugs carry a surprising amount of visual narrative weight when it comes to mike, the intensity of his feelings for will, and the blurred line between platonic and romantic.
let me set the scene... something crazy just happened, maybe one of them narrowly escaped certain death, maybe one just risked their own life to save the other, maybe one just did something super heroic to save everyone, OR maybe it's not even life or death but will just confessed his feelings after mike confronts him about the painting lie... and mike, in his shock at the sudden revelation, jumps to showing acceptance for will's sexuality but doesn't verbally reciprocate bc he's still figuring things out internally. it's at this point where will has already accepted that mike doesn't return his feelings, so he just accepts and values mike's platonic acceptance via a big platonic hug without expecting anything romantic, and the GA is like aww look at these besties being besties, they're the bestest of friends! of course mike doesn't reciprocate, he's just there to show will acceptance! platonically!
they're wrapped up in each other's arms with their heads tucked into each other's shoulders, feeling so much relief and closeness and maybe they're out of breath and tearful if they just escaped something life-or-death, and mike lifts his head a bit to whisper something into will's ear (e.g. "I thought I lost you") and he feels overwhelmed by all the platonic love he has for will... but wait... is it? platonic? why does the newfound knowledge of will's feelings for him stir something in his heart? why does this closeness he's been avoiding for so long feel so right and more importantly why does mike want more of it? and their faces slowly inch up each other's necks and get closer and closer together [tender, emotional music playing] and the GA's starting to panic a little bit and now their cheeks are pressed up and they're breathing heavily and the tension is unbearable and their eyes close (bc the momentum is unstoppable now, and all that’s left is to close their eyes and hold their breath and brace for the inevitable) and the corners of their mouths touch and they linger until slowly but surely succumbing to the pull of each other's gravity and GOTCHA! slowly falling into a kiss…………………. bro someone give me a director's chair on that set pleeeease

HSR Characters as the 5 Love Languages! Characters: Herta, Cipher, Anaxa, Phainon, Mydei
The Herta - Words of Affirmation
✧ The Herta loves both giving and receiving words of affirmation
✧ Every single day, she always lets you know how beautiful you are, how intelligent you are, pretty much anything possible to comment on
✧ If you help her with an experiment, she'll tell you when you did a good job
✧ She also loves it whenever you tell her that she did a good job, or even that she's beautiful. It means a lot, considering the praise is coming from you, above everyone else.
Cipher - Giving Gifts
✧ Cipher loves stealing things; it's one of her favourite things to do. She loves stealing practically everything, too, so obviously she'll spare something for you.
✧ Seeing your smiling face makes her happy; she'll never tell you if the gift was stolen or not, and you don't need to know
✧ She does buy things occasionally, but usually only if you're watching (or if you insist)
✧ Some common gifts she loves to give you include jewelry, matching accessories/outfits, pretty gems, etc.
✧ As long as it makes you happy, though, she'll do anything to get her hands on the item, and she means anything
✧ Hell, she'd even give you Kephale's coreflame if you truly desired it
Anaxa - Quality Time
✧ Anaxa hates it whenever you aren't with him
✧ His favourite moments are whenever he's teaching a class or performing an experiment, and you're just watching him doing his work.
✧ As long as you're within his presence, doing annoying tasks seems a lot better
✧ Even teaching in the Grove, if you're his assistant, he actually focuses better as well as hes in a better mood
✧ Even if you're doing something else, not even focused on him, as long as you're near him, he's okay. He obviously prefers when you both work together, but he understands that's not always possible.
✧ If you aren't with him and someone tries to talk to him, he mentions you within the first 5 seconds, you're just always on his mind
✧ That, or he's always texting you about random things
Phainon - Physical Touch
✧ Phainon loves physical touch; any contact with you makes his entire week
✧ Cuddling is a must with him; he loves cuddling with you
✧ Speaking of cuddling, he doesn't mind being either the big/small spoon; he has moments where he wants to be both
✧ He also loves attacking you with hugs and kisses from behind, especially if you both are alone (since he'd prefer to keep PDA to a minimum)
✧ Hand-holding is also a must while you both go on a walk around Okhema
✧ It makes him incredibly happy whenever you initiate any physical affection, and he
Mydei - Acts of Service
✧ Mydei loves assisting you in any way possible
✧ Whenever you need help, big or small, he's on his way to help out
✧ It could be as simple as needing to open a door for you or protecting you against a whole village
✧ Speaking of protecting, Mydei loves showing off his own strength to you. Whenever you're watching him train, he tries to show off a lot more, just to demonstrate his strength.
✧ This also includes whenever he protects you from any unwanted strangers
✧ Some smaller things he loves doing include helping you reach things from shelves if you're shorter, opening up jars for you, helping carry your groceries to the fridge, etc.

Okay so it decided to post the request before I got the chance to finish it. So can I please get the AOT veterans with their s/o being the doctor of the scouts? Like their poor s/o has to work overtime trying to keep them from falling apart.
AOT characters dating s/o who is the doctor of the Scouts would include.
~Eren~
Eren would experience a constant internal battle between immense pride and crushing worry when it comes to his doctor S/O. On one hand, he deeply admires their dedication and skill, watching with quiet awe as they work tirelessly to patch up wounded scouts and save lives that might otherwise be lost. Their steady hands and calm demeanor in crisis situations would remind him why he fell for them in the first place. However, this admiration would be overshadowed by his protective instincts going into overdrive. Every time he sees them rushing between patients, blood on their clothes and exhaustion etched into their features, his heart would clench with the familiar fear of losing someone precious to him.
His guilt complex would reach new heights knowing that his own reckless behavior directly contributes to their workload. Each time he returns from a mission with injuries, seeing the worry flash across their face before they slip into professional mode would eat away at him. Eren would start becoming almost obsessively careful about minor wounds, trying to treat cuts and bruises himself before they could notice, not wanting to add to their burden. He'd probably hover anxiously whenever they're treating other scouts, torn between wanting to help and knowing he'd just be in the way. The sight of them working late into the night, struggling to save a comrade's life, would trigger his deep-seated helplessness and make him question whether his presence in their life brings more pain than joy.
Despite his worry, Eren would become fiercely protective of his S/O's wellbeing in ways that might sometimes border on overbearing. He'd make sure they eat regular meals, practically forcing food into their hands between patients. When he notices them pushing themselves too hard, he wouldn't hesitate to physically carry them away from their work for mandatory rest, despite their protests about patients needing care. His own disregard for his safety would create tension, as they'd constantly worry about him while trying to focus on other patients. Eren would struggle with the irony of wanting to protect someone whose job it is to run toward danger to help others.
The relationship would fundamentally change how Eren approaches missions and combat. Knowing that his S/O would be the one treating wounded comrades would make every expedition feel more personal and urgent. He'd find himself fighting not just for humanity's freedom, but to ensure fewer people end up on his partner's operating table. In quieter moments, he'd be incredibly gentle with them, understanding better than most the weight they carry. He'd become their anchor when the losses become too much to bear, holding them when they break down after losing a patient, and reminding them of all the lives they've saved when they doubt their abilities.
~Mikasa~
Mikasa would initially struggle with the constant worry that comes from watching her s/o work tirelessly to save the lives of their fellow soldiers. Every time she returns from a mission, bloodied and battered alongside her comrades, she witnesses firsthand the toll it takes on her partner - the exhaustion etched into their features, the way their hands sometimes shake after particularly difficult surgeries, the quiet moments when they think no one is looking and allow the weight of lost lives to show on their face. Despite her own physical and emotional wounds, Mikasa finds herself more concerned about her s/o's wellbeing than her own injuries, often downplaying her own pain to avoid adding to their already overwhelming workload.
Her protective instincts would manifest in subtle but meaningful ways throughout their relationship. Mikasa would make it her personal mission to ensure her s/o eats regular meals, often bringing them food during their long shifts and sitting quietly beside them while they work late into the night. She'd learn to recognize the signs of her partner pushing themselves too hard and would gently but firmly insist they take breaks, sometimes physically guiding them away from their medical supplies to rest. When her s/o inevitably protests about having too much work to do, Mikasa would simply state that they can't save others if they don't take care of themselves first - a lesson she's learned through her own experiences of nearly losing herself to grief and exhaustion.
The sight of her s/o's dedication would fill Mikasa with a complex mixture of pride and anguish. She deeply admires their commitment to preserving life in a world that seems determined to destroy it, seeing in them the same fierce determination that drives her own need to protect others. However, she also recognizes the parallel between her s/o's overwhelming sense of responsibility for every soldier's life and her own desperate need to keep Eren and Armin safe. This understanding creates a deeper bond between them, as Mikasa realizes that her partner carries the same heavy burden of caring too much in a world that offers little mercy to those who fight to save others.
During the quieter moments between expeditions, Mikasa would become her s/o's sanctuary just as they serve as the scouts' lifeline. She'd wrap her red scarf around both of them during cold nights, holding her partner close while they decompress from the day's losses and victories. In these intimate moments, Mikasa would allow herself to be vulnerable, sharing her own fears about losing the people she loves while listening to her s/o's struggles with the impossible task of trying to heal everyone. Their relationship would become a mutual source of strength, with Mikasa providing the emotional support and grounding her partner needs to continue their vital work, while her s/o offers her a different perspective on what it means to fight for others - not just through violence, but through healing and hope.
~Armin~
Armin deeply admired his partner's unwavering dedication to keeping the Scout Regiment alive, though it filled him with a complex mixture of pride and concern. He understood better than most the weight of responsibility that came with protecting others, and he recognized the same selfless determination in his s/o that he saw in commanders like Erwin Smith. Their medical expertise was invaluable to the regiment's survival, and Armin often found himself marveling at their quick thinking during emergencies and their ability to remain calm under pressure. However, his analytical mind also picked up on the subtle signs of exhaustion—the slight tremor in their hands after particularly difficult surgeries, the way their shoulders sagged when they thought no one was looking, and the dark circles under their eyes that seemed to deepen with each expedition.
His protective instincts, usually reserved for Eren and Mikasa, extended fiercely to his partner, though he struggled with how to help without overstepping boundaries. Armin would quietly observe their work patterns, mentally cataloging when they skipped meals or worked through the night, and he'd devise small but strategic interventions. He'd bring them carefully timed cups of tea, sit with them during brief breaks to provide silent companionship, or offer to help organize their medical supplies—anything to ease their burden without interfering with their crucial work. His naturally empathetic nature made him acutely aware of the emotional toll their job took, especially when they lost patients despite their best efforts, and he became expert at recognizing when they needed space to process their grief versus when they needed comfort.
Armin's tactical mind proved invaluable in supporting his s/o's medical practice, as he'd often help them strategize about resource allocation, patient triage, and efficient treatment protocols. He understood that their work required the same kind of calculated decision-making that he applied to military strategy, though the stakes were measured in lives rather than territory. During quiet moments between expeditions, he'd listen intently as they discussed challenging cases or new medical techniques they wanted to try, offering thoughtful questions and observations that helped them think through problems. His ability to remain level-headed during crises also made him an ideal assistant during medical emergencies, following their instructions precisely while keeping other panicked soldiers calm and out of their way.
Despite his admiration for their strength and competence, Armin worried constantly about his partner's tendency to prioritize everyone else's wellbeing over their own—a trait he recognized all too well in himself. He'd gently but persistently remind them to rest, sometimes using his tactical knowledge to point out how their exhaustion could compromise their effectiveness and, by extension, endanger more lives. His own struggles with self-worth made him particularly sensitive to the moments when his s/o questioned whether they'd done enough or blamed themselves for losses beyond their control. In these vulnerable moments, Armin would draw on his growing confidence and hard-won wisdom to remind them of their irreplaceable value to the regiment and to him personally, using the same logical arguments and emotional insight that made him such an effective strategist to help them see their own worth more clearly.
~Erwin~
Erwin's relationship with the Scout Regiment's head doctor creates a unique tension between his role as commander and his personal feelings. He watches with a mixture of pride and concern as his partner works tirelessly in the medical bay, often going days with minimal sleep to tend to wounded soldiers returning from expeditions. The sight of them frantically moving between patients, blood staining their uniform and exhaustion evident in every movement, stirs something protective within him that conflicts with his typically calculated demeanor. He understands better than anyone the weight of responsibility his s/o carries - every life saved is a victory, every life lost a burden they both share.
The commander finds himself torn between his duty to maintain professional distance and his desire to ease his partner's overwhelming workload. During strategic meetings, Erwin's mind occasionally wanders to the medical bay, wondering if his s/o has managed to eat or rest. He begins subtly adjusting mission parameters when possible, not enough to compromise objectives but perhaps routing squads closer to medical supply caches or timing expeditions to allow for better preparation. His stoic facade remains intact in public, but those closest to him notice the way his jaw tightens when casualty reports come in, knowing each number represents another sleepless night for his beloved.
In their rare private moments together, Erwin reveals the softer side of his nature that few ever witness. He takes to quietly tending his partner's needs - ensuring they have proper meals, drawing baths to wash away the day's blood and trauma, or simply holding them when the weight of lost soldiers becomes too much to bear. His large hands, typically used for signing death warrants and battle plans, become gentle as they massage tension from tired shoulders or brush hair from his s/o's weary face. These intimate moments become his anchor, reminding him of what humanity is truly worth fighting for beyond the abstract concept of freedom.
The relationship fundamentally changes how Erwin views sacrifice and loss. While he maintains his ability to make the hard choices that define effective leadership, he struggles with the knowledge that each decision potentially puts more strain on his partner. He becomes more invested in soldier training and injury prevention, not just for tactical advantages but because he cannot bear to see his s/o break under the endless stream of casualties. When his s/o inevitably reaches their breaking point - perhaps after a particularly devastating expedition - Erwin's composed exterior finally cracks. He holds them as they sob, making quiet promises about a future beyond the walls where their healing hands won't be needed for war, even as he knows such promises may be beyond his power to keep.
~Levi~
Levi's relationship with his doctor s/o is built on a foundation of mutual respect and shared dedication to preserving human life, though he'd never admit the latter part out loud. He watches with quiet admiration as they work tirelessly to patch up his fellow soldiers after each expedition, their hands steady even when treating the most gruesome injuries. What strikes him most is how they never seem to lose their composure, maintaining the same clinical focus whether they're treating a minor cut or performing emergency surgery. He finds himself drawn to their competence and unwavering commitment, qualities he values above all else. Their shared understanding of the weight of responsibility - his in keeping soldiers alive in battle, theirs in keeping them alive afterward - creates an unspoken bond between them.
The captain becomes increasingly protective of his s/o as he witnesses the toll their work takes on them. He notices everything: the dark circles under their eyes from sleepless nights in the medical bay, the way their shoulders slump with exhaustion after particularly brutal expeditions, the tremor in their hands when they think no one is looking. Levi starts bringing them tea during their long shifts, never making a big show of it but simply setting the cup down within reach before leaving without a word. He also begins assigning scouts to help with medical supply runs and equipment cleaning, claiming it's for "efficiency" when really he's trying to lighten their workload. His concern manifests in practical ways - ensuring they eat regularly, forcing them to take breaks, and occasionally threatening other scouts who might interrupt their rest.
What frustrates Levi most is his s/o's tendency to prioritize everyone else's wellbeing over their own, a trait he recognizes all too well in himself. He's witnessed them work through their own injuries, skip meals to tend to patients, and push themselves past their limits time and again. This leads to some of their few genuine arguments, with Levi's blunt nature clashing against their stubborn dedication. "You're no use to anyone if you collapse," he'll tell them harshly, though the worry in his grey eyes betrays his true feelings. He's learned to be more subtle in his approach, sometimes literally picking them up and carrying them away from the medical bay when they refuse to rest, his actions speaking louder than any gentle words ever could.
Despite their demanding schedules, Levi treasures the quiet moments they manage to steal together. Late at night, when the medical bay is finally empty and the base is quiet, he'll find his s/o organizing supplies or updating patient records. These are the times when his walls come down slightly - he'll help them with mundane tasks, work in comfortable silence beside them, or simply sit nearby while they finish their work. He's surprisingly gentle when tending to any injuries they might have sustained during their duties, his usually steady hands becoming even more careful when touching them. In these intimate moments, Levi allows himself to show vulnerability, sometimes resting his forehead against theirs and whispering his gratitude for everything they do, not just for him, but for the people he cares about most.
~Hange~
Hange would be incredibly affectionate and attentive when her s/o is tending to other injured scouts, watching with genuine admiration as they work. She'd brag constantly about her partner's medical skills to anyone who'd listen, much to their embarrassment. During quieter moments, she'd curl up in the medical bay while her s/o works late, content to organize files or clean equipment just to be near them. Hange would also insist on being her partner's personal test subject for any new medical techniques, claiming it's "for the advancement of medical science" when really she just enjoys the gentle attention.
Hange would be absolutely smitten with her doctor s/o, though she'd probably drive them to the brink of exhaustion with her reckless tendencies. She'd constantly show up to the medical bay with cuts, burns, and bruises from her Titan experiments, always with that sheepish grin and a hurried "It's just a scratch!" Her s/o would have learned to keep extra supplies on hand specifically for Hange's frequent visits. Despite her casual attitude toward her own injuries, Hange would be incredibly protective of her partner's wellbeing, often staying up late to help organize medical supplies or assist with patient care when the scouts return from particularly brutal expeditions.
The dynamic between them would be both exasperating and endearing. Hange's s/o would have developed a sixth sense for when she's about to do something dangerous, often appearing at her lab with a first aid kit before Hange even realizes she needs it. They'd have gentle arguments about Hange's safety protocols, with her partner trying to implement basic protective measures while Hange insists that "science requires sacrifice!" Her s/o would have learned to hide behind Hange's workbench when she gets that particular gleam in her eye that means she's about to test something potentially explosive.
When Hange gets seriously injured, her usual bravado would crumble around her s/o, showing a vulnerability she rarely displays to others. She'd be an absolutely terrible patient - fidgety, trying to get back to work too soon, and constantly apologizing for worrying her partner. Her s/o would have to use a combination of medical authority and romantic persuasion to keep her in bed long enough to heal properly. In return, Hange would shower them with small gifts from her research - carefully preserved flowers, interesting rock samples, or beautifully detailed sketches of Titan anatomy, each accompanied by rambling explanations of why she thought they'd find it fascinating.
~Jean~
Jean initially finds himself torn between pride and worry when it comes to his s/o's role as the Scout Regiment's doctor. On one hand, he's incredibly proud of their medical expertise and dedication to keeping everyone alive, often bragging about their skills to fellow soldiers. However, his pragmatic nature makes him constantly anxious about the toll their job takes on them. He sees firsthand how they work through exhaustion, patching up soldier after soldier following expeditions, and it conflicts with his desire for both of them to have some semblance of safety and normalcy. Jean often catches himself wanting to suggest they transfer to a safer position, but his respect for their commitment and his understanding of how crucial they are to the regiment keeps him from voicing these concerns too forcefully.
The sight of his s/o's hands, perpetually stained with blood and trembling from overwork, becomes something that haunts Jean during quiet moments. His brutal honesty, usually directed outward, turns inward as he struggles with guilt over not being able to protect them from the emotional and physical strain of their work. He starts paying closer attention to the casualties during missions, not just for tactical reasons, but because he knows each wounded soldier means another sleepless night for his partner. Jean begins taking on additional responsibilities around their shared living space, handling chores and meals without being asked, understanding that their time and energy need to be preserved for saving lives.
Jean's natural leadership abilities manifest in how he becomes fiercely protective of his s/o's wellbeing, often stepping in when he notices other soldiers taking advantage of their dedication. He's not above using his blunt personality to tell exhausted soldiers to handle minor injuries themselves or to remind officers that his partner needs rest between missions. Despite his own aversion to dangerous situations, Jean finds himself volunteering for riskier assignments partly because he knows that fewer casualties mean less work for his s/o. He starts viewing mission success not just in terms of strategic victory, but in terms of how many soldiers return unharmed, knowing that each healthy return is a small gift to his overworked partner.
The relationship deepens Jean's understanding of sacrifice and duty in ways his earlier self-centered motivations never could. Watching his s/o work tirelessly to save lives, even when their own health suffers, gradually shifts his perspective from wanting an easy life to wanting a meaningful one. He begins to see their work as a form of heroism that doesn't require grand gestures or dramatic battles, but rather quiet, consistent dedication to preserving life. Jean starts leaving small notes of encouragement in their medical supplies, brings them meals during long shifts, and learns to provide the kind of steady, reliable support that his s/o needs to continue their vital work. His love becomes expressed through understanding when they're too exhausted to talk, holding them when they've lost a patient, and being the calm presence they can return to after witnessing humanity's fragility day after day.
~Sasha~
Sasha's relationship with her doctor s/o is a beautiful blend of understanding and gentle chaos. She quickly learns that her partner's dedication to keeping the Scout Regiment alive means long, unpredictable hours and constant worry. While initially frustrated by the missed dinners and interrupted conversations, Sasha develops a deep respect for her s/o's unwavering commitment to saving lives. She becomes incredibly protective of their rare moments together, often bringing meals directly to the medical bay and creating a small sanctuary where her exhausted partner can find comfort between emergencies.
Her nurturing instincts, usually reserved for food and close friends, extend completely to her overworked s/o. Sasha makes it her personal mission to ensure they're eating properly, often sneaking extra portions from the mess hall or hunting fresh game to prepare hearty meals that can sustain her partner through their demanding schedule. She learns to read the subtle signs of her s/o's exhaustion - the slight tremor in their hands after a particularly difficult surgery, the way they unconsciously massage their temples when overwhelmed with casualties. During these moments, Sasha becomes remarkably gentle, offering wordless comfort through simple gestures like warm embraces or quietly braiding their hair while they rest.
The unique challenges of their relationship teach Sasha patience in ways she never expected. She learns to find romance in stolen moments - brief kisses exchanged in supply closets, her s/o falling asleep against her shoulder during rare quiet evenings, or the grateful smile her partner gives when finding a carefully wrapped meal left on their desk. Sasha's naturally intuitive nature helps her anticipate her s/o's needs, whether it's preparing medical supplies before they ask or simply being a steady, comforting presence during the aftermath of particularly brutal expeditions.
Despite the difficulties, Sasha finds immense pride in loving someone so selflessly dedicated to protecting others. She often brags to her fellow scouts about her partner's skills and dedication, becoming fiercely defensive if anyone suggests the medical corps doesn't face the same dangers as field operatives. Her s/o's compassion and skill inspire Sasha to be more mindful of her own safety during missions, knowing that her injuries would only add to her partner's already overwhelming burden. Their relationship becomes a source of strength for both, with Sasha's unwavering optimism and warmth providing the emotional support her s/o needs to continue their life-saving work.

BULLY OC - C.C. I saw a bunch of these in the fandom and theyre so goated so i made a Bully oc Slash self insert too Yeauhhhh ❤️❤️ Kinda Lengthy Introduction to him below (template by jimothy-hopkins)

Hi this is C.C., or Cici, or or Sissy (via Gary)... Everyone knows his real name from the yearbook but he prefers to just shorten it to his initials.
Literally just a random ass guy. Born in New York, he had a pretty awesome life before coming to Bullworth. He grew up fairly well, but a split in his parent's marriage resulted him in moving to possibly his worst nightmare, a small town.
A really avid thrill seeker, though personality-wise he's very down to earth and doesn't have any real beef with any of the cliques regardless of what they think of him. Thinks the jocks are really annoying though (except Mandy <3). "Life is too short to care about that nonsense!"
Regardless, he does hold grudges if you piss him off even slightly. Cici is extremely particular about understanding people's motivations at first glance, so it can feel like walking on eggshells if he can't become quickly accustomed to how you act, talk, or your reasonings for interacting with him in the first place if he didn't initiate it first.
He won't go out of his way to ruin anyones' lives or whatever over it, but he'll definitely act more distant and "esoteric" than he already is.
Knows a lot about everyone and a lot of people know nothing about him. Not that he's a loner but he had decided that Maybe Bullworth Isn't The Best Place To Make Too Many Friends. ❤️
Considers himself to only be friends with Gary, Christy, Mandy, and Johnny. He'll always talk with anybody in class if possible, though. His archnemesis is boredom.
His red duffle jacket makes people see him from a mile away, so atleast he's known for something unique.
He's from the pre-Jimmy era... Him and Gary were 'close friends' before he eventually dropped out. He still doesn't know if Gary actually liked him or not, but it's was fun as shit anyways.
It was hard to see them not near eachother, their crafty personalities clicked a little too well (as well as their adhd diagnosis')!!! They had to stop hanging out constantly at school because Gary had told him they looked like homosexuals.
Having been around a multitude of greasers and Italian-Americans while growing up, he found himself immediately drawn to them all and they hit it off fairly quickly after he steadily convinced them that he's not as suspicious as many would assume.
He thinks too highly of himself as nobody thought of him as a threat in the first place anyways LOL.
Johnny Vincent specifically reminded him of Al Pacino, so he had an ENORMOUS crush on him that was never pursued.
Would be more friendly with the other factions if they made the effort to get to know eachother, but he honestly prefers to keep his distance from more insanity.
Despite this, he secretly admires like half the cast. He just loves messy people and how distinctive everyone is at this horrendous school. It's for very shallow reasons, though, such as simply liking how they style their hair or the tone of their voice.
This appreciation for others is never publically stated just so he can keep up his self-described "eccentric but unknown" reputation.
He only maintains said image not because he specifically wants people to like him, but to rather gain the benefits of others around him.
He's a free baller. If shit hits the fan and then someone he was chill with starts disliking him he Doesn't exactly care about the fact that they're not a fan of his character anymore. He Does care about losing another lifeline so this is why he prefers to keep the #PEACEANDLOVE.
If he wasn't associated with Gary and the greasers, he'd be considered a nerd more than anything. Really into pop culture all around, especially movies and anime. Makes references literally no one understands all the time.
Fun Facts..... Aka me just talking more Sorryyyy:
He's Colombian and Salvadoran. Does not know a lick of Spanish but he's very intertwined with his culture. (ESPECIALLY THE FOOD!!!!!!)
Biggest Anglophile ever. Without England he would be dead. He basically snatched his entire wardrobe from what he saw in British media.
Into indie/garage rock and digital hardcore (or just edm in general). On the side of Oasis during the Britpop War. Other bands he likes include Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys (their 2004 demos changed his entire life), Bloc Party, The Velvet Underground, The London Suede, etc
Interested in science, specifically biology and psychology, so observing Gary and the rest of the school was crazy entertaining for him. Also very invested in the mafia (which is understandable considering where he grew up).
Artist but doesn't show anybody what he draws even though it's not all that in the first place.
(Playfully) teases the hell out of everyone he knows about the randomest things. You stutter once and it's Over. None of them like it but it Could be worse considering it's Bullworth Academy.
GAMBLING ADDICTION
Outside of that, he practices abstinence. Someone has to be the designated driver even if that someone doesn't have a license. ❤️
He's the bisexual that eats hot chip and lies
Voiceclaim is Julian Casablancas (adjacent) from The Strokes.... Specifically during 2001-2006.....
THANK YOU FOR READING THIS FAR I Hope you enjoy my annoying guy Lol...

many randomly specific things from my fourth time at The Outsiders musical (6/27/25 evening):
first time not in a partial view spot! often found my eyes jumping all over the stage and my brain going "wait wait wait I want to See Everything" and yet still managed to write down all this lol. these notes got away from me so if you're interested in one specific character/ song/ whatever and want to just send me an ask instead of trying to file through these please feel free! this is mostly for myself so I don't forget lol
act one
-first Brody Ponyboy for me! he is so 14 years old immediately in facial expressions and gestures
-Dan Soda (also a first for me!) kicked a tonnn of gravel at Chet who in return flipped him off
-also it seems like they aren't making Dan's curls go away when he plays Soda anymore yay
-Bob opened Pony's notebook before throwing it in the water so most of the pages were drenched it was way more ruined than I've seen
-at “Darrel never went soc” Soda's obviously mad but Ace was also so offended. she yelled “NO, never!” like the protective little sibling that she is
-Ace and Soda fake flirting and cracking up at each other in Grease Got a Hold I know that's right
-Two Bit said “hey muscles!” to Darry when the gang enters in Runs in the Family
-when talking about to going to the drive in Darry was trying to give sincere advice and Pony was giving “smiling and nodding and not retaining a word you say"
-Marcia initiated the marbit flirting by tapping Two on the shoulder right near the start of Friday at the Drive In!
-oh Bob was BIG mad about Chet dancing with Cherry - like Chet does the last turn, sees Bob, goes “oh, hi Bobby,” and gets out of there as FAST as possible. bro basically threw Cherry into Bob’s arms and booked it. she was trying to calm him down the whole greaser part of the dance break and had not yet succeeded when they get pushed off the tire by Ace
-Cole Paul evilest Paul was not having fun at the drive in whatsoever lol. dude was either watching Cherry like a protective but annoyed older brother or talking to Chet (probably about Cherry) or angrily smoking with Bev. even when he and Chet were laying on the car he was like 😠
-Sky Brody bestfriendism makes their pbj so amazing oh gosh. the walk up to the front bench at the drive in was SO funny. Ponyboy flipped his collar up and gestured for Johnny to do the same and he kind of made a motion like “seriously? why?” before doing it and then immediately fixed his collar when they started walking and Pony was turned around. every imitation Johnny did of Ponyboy in that scene was so “gosh he’s an idiot but he’s my idiot so this is what we’re doing I guess”
-before I Could Talk to You All Night when Ponyboy and Cherry are talking Brody was sitting crossed legged and idk something about that and his hand gestures and tone of voice was giving so much young kid that it made that part extra sad to me
-Marcia whispered “sorry” to Ponyboy after the breakup scene when she pulled Cherry away!
-Runs in the Family Reprise was soooo good tonight y’all so I'm about to yap about the whole thing lowkey. Darry was already super upset from the beginning of the scene and Soda was so happy and jokey. his reaction to Cherry's name was legendary. Ponyboy was throwing the biggest kid tantrum of all time - literally wouldn't even sit in the chair correctly but was sliding all the way down while Darry sing yelled at him. when Soda comes over to the table he definitely tried to get Ponyboy to chill out and said "I got you" and then was lowkey fed up when Pony immediately started yelling back at Darry lol. Darry also fully put Soda back into his chair to get him out of the way when he slaps Ponyboy. it was just the most and the audience had the correct response of horrified silence
-on a lighter note have you ever seen a person look like 😍 because I have. Ponyboy when Johnny started singing in Far Away from Tulsa
-also they kept doing this thing during that song where they would make eye contact for a long time and then Ponyboy would kind of be like "uhh gotta look into the distance for a bit" and not in a smooth way but then just ended up staring at each other again. pbj I know what you are
-immediately when the socs pulled up Ponyboy and Johnny were both yelling for each other and saying to run, plus Johnny was yelling for Ponyboy every time the sound cut in during the drowning part
-Ponyboy looked sooo horrified and scared after Bob's death - just stood there staring at his hands and shaking and stumbled even with Johnny practically dragging him to go see Dally and stammered through his first lines in Run Run Brother
-Soda actually seemed super angry at Darry during that song which was different than I'd seen. he was singing the "sooner or later you'll learn" etc lines right at him with such an upset look on his face
act two
-socs look one way and greasers look the other but Darry didn’t look away from the cop’s flashlight at all!
-Cole Paul being angry and evil, who’s surprised, but for real, yikes. Cherry looked so scared of him during Justice for Tulsa when all the socs start turning on her and one of the other guys (Brill maybe? I forget) flipped the one sleeve of Bob's letterman jacket like they were going to take it from her
-wonder what Brody and Sky yap about during that song. never been in a full view seat before today and was super distracted by them lol
-also idk what it was about Two Bit's scream today but it seemed extra horrifying. like I teared up
-hearing Death’s at My Door sound exactly how it does on the album but live was weird and cool
-at the end of that song Johnny just kind of grabbed Ponyboy’s arm like normal but Pony straight up launched himself at Johnny and buried his face in his shoulder :(
-similarly Soda threw himself into Darry’s arms at the end of Throwing in the Towel :(
-Dan is so expressive as Soda - tons of nodding or shaking his head to show if he agrees or disagrees with what anybody’s saying. legit went “I know that Ponyboy’s got a damn good heart” 🙂↕️🙂↕️ “but I keep holding him down” ☹️↔️☹️↔️
-wonder if Sky got a new wig for when his hair is cut in the church or if I could just see better. looked short
-Darry was straight up asleep in Hoods Turned Heroes until they all start jumping on the car in Soda's verse and then he was so annoyed for a second until he got the newspaper. I think it's so important that he gets to just act like a kid in that scene and gets his one second of peace where he's proud of his little brother and playing around with his gang
-Ponyboy would not stop touching Johnny in the hospital like he wanted to do something to fix things but couldn't
-for part of Hopeless War Ponyboy was kneeling by Johnny and laying his head down next to his so Cherry had to sing talk to Ponyboy over Johnny until she walked around and even then he wouldn't turn to look at her hardly at all
-Ponyboy screamed "do it for Johnny" in Trouble - not just yelled, like desperately screamed
-before the rumble there was sooo much lore just in the way Darry said "Paul." it was almost like a question or confusion as if he was hoping Paul wasn't around or at least wouldn't be at this fight so he didn't have to face him plus Darry was biting at his fingernail like he was nervous. then the rest of his lines it was like he gained more and more confidence or at least put on this mask that he didn't care
-evil Paul putting on his ring right before punching Darry in the face oof
-ok so I tried so hard to actually see things in the rumble and not just be like !!!!! and I noticed that at one point Paul and somebody else are double-teaming Darry so Ace runs over and jumps on the one guy's back
-some of the reactions to winning the rumble were so different! Ponyboy and Ace were having a chaotic moment yelling "yeah!" back and forth but Soda was not okay? he kept saying "no no no no" and wouldn't stand upright so Darry had to come over and check him out and give him a hug so they were barely part of the celebration
-Ponyboy's increasingly higher and faster "no no NO NO NO"s when Johnny dies should be illegal actually
-Soda, still not well from the rumble, was standing off the side just sobbing for a good bit post Johnny's death. then he went "Dal" and tried to calm him down but when that didn't work Ace immediately jumped in between them super defensive. then Soda noticed Ponyboy just standing there frozen and hugged him as they both basically fell to the ground :(
-Two Bit also put his forehead against Johnny's after he died :(
-I've ranted about Alex Joseph Grayson as Dally before so I won't do that here but it's all still true and more. in Little Brother he kind of whispered "does anybody care?" but with his voice cracking like he was about to burst into tears and it was devastating
-speaking of devastating, welcome final Curtis brothers scene that never fails to make me cry. a collection of things that got me today: Ponyboy having thrown his notebook all the way off the rug when he sat down so when he gets the idea from Johnny to write during Stay Gold he had to go grab it. Soda almost trying to say hi to Cherry in a jokey/ flirty way but sounding so tired at the same time. Ponyboy just putting his head down in his arms halfway through Cherry talking to him and she looks at Soda who just shrugs helplessly. Darry crying at the table (obviously) but also I think at one point all three of them were crying and trying not to let the others see? like the older two looking away and Ponyboy looking down and covering his face then wiping his eyes. finally the wan Dan managed to read from Ponyboy's book in a way that conveyed Soda struggles to read without actually making it difficult for the audience to understand very important lines
I fear I've forgotten things. anyway. just remembered I took a video of bows so I'll rewatch and maybe upload that tomorrow if it's at all good lol. if you actually read all of this I love you and are you okay
#the outsiders musical#the outsiders broadway#outsiders musical#fought through the sleepiness to finish these lol#fact of the matter is if i don't write this down now it'll be gone forever by morning#anyway shoutout nice people i met at the stage door you're great#I'm still dead over only the girls stage dooring when statistically that is so unlikely haha#show notes

“It’s my right to be hellish, I still get Jealous~”
Now Playing🎼♬ ♪ ♫:
Blue lock characters in: Being Jealous pt. 2
A/n: No warnings, just men that love their partners in weird ways
Characters Included: Rin Itoshi, Ryusei Shidou, Yo Hiori, Kenya Yukimiya, Sae Itoshi
Rin
Rin is weird with jealousy. He’s not much different from his usual, so it’s hard to catch him initially.
You did always try and engage him, but Rin is a moody little fuck so you end up getting denied all the time. It’s like he enjoys it when you look dejected over his refusal
At least, that’s how Isagi is hearing it when you’re whining about it, nodding patiently as you're insisting Rin must hate you with how much he avoids spending time with you
Isagi is a kind soul (off the field), so he’s sweet enough to soothe your insecurities. He’s aware Rin isn’t always palatable, but one would like to think he’s not entirely hopeless
He smiles a bit, rubbing your back and cracking light jokes to keep your mood high
Rin was furious at the sight alone, why the hell were you letting that bastard Isagi touch you? Making you laugh? What was so damn funny? That dork definitely couldn’t be.
He had never been the sweet type, he knew that, everyone did. But did that really mean you’d go seeking that asshole's attention?
He has too much pride to march over there and say something since it'd be like admitting he’s jealous. Which he WASN'T to be clear, he only dislikes how close Isagi is, that’s all
On the way home, he’ll make passive-aggressive comments and scoff when you mention anything with Isagi’s name in it. Something about the way you sound, so happy to talk about something that wasn’t him, ticked him off beyond words
So now he’s resorted to weird random acts of affection so to speak. He leaves his clothes around but doesn’t elaborate why, he takes you out regularly and swears it’s just to make you less whiny
There’s just an itch that’s scratched when he has your focus entirely, one that overshadows his aloof demeanor. He needs your full attention, who cares what that looks like to lukewarm idiots like Isagi?
“No! This isn’t about Isagi around you, just come lay with me, idiot, before I change my mind…”
Shidou
Don’t get me started with this clown, he’s insufferable regularly, so it’s amped up x100 when he's jealous
He’s shameless as is, touching and grabbing with fervor when you’re in proximity. Don’t let his hands wander, you’ll be there a while that’s for sure
In behavior, he won’t differ much, considering he’s a whole lot of everything already; he just makes sure whoever it is understands who you’re with. He did try to fight them initially, but you had to intervene before Shidou beat that poor soul
He’s not stupid; he definitely knows what flirting looks like. Mainly because he’s incessantly doing it. So when he sees you entertaining it, he gets all excited.
“You don’t need ‘im baby~ If you wanted attention, m' right here y'know.”
It wasn’t necessary, so to speak, for him to tackle the guy to the ground or repeatedly stomp his face in, but the competition got him too pumped to care. This boring chump isn’t any match for him, this is proof, and if that’s the case, why make time for anyone else, huh?
His logic is that if they cant beat him in a fight, they're not worth your time, friend or otherwise and considering how serious he is about it, you end up distancing your friends for their sake
He’s loud about it outwardly, but he does kind of (and I really mean kind of) worry if that annoys or puts you off, to himself, anyway. He knows how he acts is wild, but what if you hate it more than you say? To keep those annoying thoughts at bay, he keeps you in sight all the time and always touches you (yes, even more than usual), no excuses needed. He's just holdin’ onto what's his, nothing weird about that. Insecurity was a waste of time. If you thought he was annoying, he’d just force those thoughts away; that's it. Thinking too much about it would make his brain hurt, so he left it up to actions.
“I wouldn’t mind you making it up to me with a little fun… hey! I was gonna say cuddles, what were you thinking, huh?”
Hiori (It's really weird writing him, can't tell if I want to indulge his sadistic traits or not twt.)
-I don't want to say he's all that possessive and hovering, he hates when people do that to him so you guys can go long with space. He's almost like Nagi in the way that he won't make much if any fuss if your attention is elsewhere, then again it's more because he can get wrapped up in his things
-Don't get it wrong, he likes spending time with you but your company is your business so he wont judge, even if one or two of them crowd you a bit too much for his taste.
-I can only see him getting annoyed if the company in question is too touchy, it's weird to him. He can't remember the last time any of his friends were that crowding and bothersome, is that really necessary?
-Since when are hugs that long just a friend thing? Yeah, that needs to stop
“Ahem, I think it’s ‘bout time fer’ your friend to go right? It’s just late, they’ll miss the last train.”
-He wasn't wrong, it was in fact late, late enough for you cut the hangout right then, saying your goodbyes
-You didn't see the glare Hiori leveled that friend of yours with, almost daring him to hug you again while he’s still there
-He placed his attention on you, bringing you into a hug for a moment and catching your friend’s scent right on your shirt collar. Close, that's too close to your neck and that little prick knew that well enough. Must so many people be this unpleasant in their own ways?
-He didn't verbalize his displeasure, he understood that this wasn't your fault nor were you knowingly encouraging this behavior. He didn't need reassurance of your love, if you didn't love him then you’d have left by now, logically speaking anyway.
-He’s a lot happier now that they left, so dwelling on that annoyance of a friend wasn't worth it. The hug was going on now for a few moments longer than what you’re used to with him and his overwhelming height wasn't helpful, he was kinda pressing his weight on you so you tapped him to ease up
“Sorry, got caught up there…”
-You never question Hiori’s unorthodox behavior patterns, he's an oddball so it comes with the territory. He enjoyed his time alone, you respect that cause god knows you love your quiet time in spades. He wasn't a big talker, so most of your days together were just being in proximity of each other, sometimes you'd play the same game silently or take extended naps.
-You were one of the only people he liked around, he’d actually hate it more if you distanced yourself from him. You make him comfortable even with his weirdly specific requests
-Maybe that's why he started giving you hugs more often, each one lasting a little longer than usual and why he always finds at least one more thing to talk to you about, he holds his attention to you and just you. He didn't like how close some of your friends were, he had a feeling his distance with you was to blame
-You matter a lot to him, so awkward small talk and cuddling won't be the end of his world, even if he's not used to them. He just knew you meant more than a bit of discomfort so he’ll reach out, even when he's nervous to
“Hm, that new show ya’ been watchin’…maybe you can tell me ‘bout it?”
Yukimiya *Again, another interesting one to write for. I shall cope*
He is definitely an all-around good and secure guy, so I don’t see him getting jealous much.
Like Hiori, he’s confident in your relationship with him and trusts your character.
Don’t get it twisted, he isn’t perfect. So he can’t let it go when you get flirted on so openly in front of him, almost like a slap in his face
He’s laughing as he witnesses it but his face was in fact not amused. There wasn’t anything he hated quite like when people purposely overlook him (pun intended…well I’m not sure if that’s technically a pun…oh my god just laugh at his bad eyesight 😑)
He has to bury a lot down before clearing his throat, jumping into the conversation with practiced ease, offering you a warm smile
When he talks, it’s almost like he’s ignoring your company, petty but he doesn’t care. He makes a point to exclude the topic from the stranger, perhaps bringing up a date he wished to go on
His face won’t immediately give it away, it’s when you finally excuse yourself from the person that the small sigh of relief leaves him. You’re tempted to ask but he plays it off so well, you simply leave it alone
It’s only when you get home that he admits his feelings. Sheepishly explaining how irritated he was upon seeing someone that close to you, especially one he didn’t know
You laugh, pulling him into a hug. It doesn’t take much to assure him otherwise. Especially when you reveal you don’t even know who that was
His hugs are warm, always but just then, his smile was warmer. He pats your head and allows his grin to reach his eyes this time, expressing his happiness
He simply makes a mental note to stand around you more often, clearly some people don’t get the hint that you’re not available, how rude
“I’m happy to hear that, Dove. Perhaps a dessert date is in order?… Heh, I thought you’d like that.”
I gotta get in the groove for his character, this one was a bit shorter than the others, forgive me 🙏
Sae
Do I even need to explain how this guy handles jealousy? Or just feelings period?
Similar to Rin in the stewing department. He refuses to openly say it even when it’s obvious
Early into your relationship, however, I don’t think he’d be much jealous or fussy about others speaking to you. What? Was he supposed to cage you from your friends?
For this though, let’s assume you two have been together for upwards of a year or two. He grows more comfortable with you, that’s when you start to pick up that Sae is never just “not jealous” he just wouldn’t say anything before
To be fair, he’s hid it well for a long time. Granted, it’s only because it takes time to pick up his habits. He’s not as aloof as he’d like to be when you’ve gotten so close to him
You were an integral part of his life by now, he can’t hide as good. With that in mind, you see that when he sees your attention elsewhere when he wants it, he won’t say it. He’ll just mock the person when it’s just you two
Sometimes it’s a sly comment, other times just straight up insulting, he’s mean when it comes to people that take your time from him
Now to see him take action, you gotta be married to this guy or something. That’ll really get him to physically step in when he wants to speak to you
No words, he’ll just walk over, shove his ring in the person's face, pick you up, and walk off. You have to laugh all the way to his car, sometimes even after you two get home. He’s needier than you’d think
God forbid you deal with reporters, or speak in interviews. Why does the media need to see your amazing face? Hear your voice? His love life is not their business, they need to go away
“Ahem, excuse me. We’re talking about my soccer career. My spouse isn’t your friend, don’t utter their name so casually.”
Another kinda short one, are we liking the married! Sae agenda? It’s kinda fun to write about >3<

Marauders Era Boys - They’re jealous of someone else taking you to the Yule Ball
Characters: Regulus Black, Barty Crouch Jr, James Potter, Severus Snape, Remus Lupin & Sirius Black
Regulus Black:
He tries his best to hide his jealousy, seeming like he is entirely unbothered by the situation
But his eyes betray him as they track your every move
He clenches his jaw when your date makes you laugh or smile
He regrets not having asked you. Cursing himself for being hesitant
He would definitely try and subtly sabotage. Like charming your dates shoelaces to untie making him stumble over his own feet
He keeps an eye on you the entire night making sure your date doesn’t overstep in anyway
He would slip a note into your pocket at the end of the night saying “you deserved better”
Barty Crouch Jr:
He glares at your date the entire night
Wishing he could hex him
He hovers nearby ready to step in if need be
He would “accidentally” spill his drink all over your dates outfit
He fake apologises while your date storms off to clean himself up.
Barty takes the opportunity to drag you onto the dancefloor, to steal a dance with you
He tells you how beautiful you look and that you should be here with him instead and not with that loser
Remus Lupin:
He watches you and your date from the sidelines
He tries to focus on the conversation with his friends but he finds himself glancing over at you the entire time
Sirius tells him “just go ask her to dance” but Remus shakes his head
He believes you’d be better off with your date, not believing you could even be interested in someone like him due to his lycanthropy
Sirius keeps teasing Remus about the way he watches you
When your date steps away Sirius says “now is your chance”
Remus finally takes his advice and approaches you
He gives you a small smile and he desperately wants to ask you to dance but he can’t seem to find the words.
When your date comes back and asks what’s going on, you tell him that Remus asked you for a dance, you lead Remus to the dance floor
Remus apologises for being so awkward about asking you to dance. But thanks you for taking the initiative
At the end of the night Remus tells you that he wished he had built up the courage to ask you to be his date to the ball. You promise that next time you will be
Severus Snape:
Severus lurks in the shadows.
Tracking your every move.
He didn’t even want to go to this ball because he knew he couldn’t go with you. But he decided to go to keep an eye on you and make sure you were safe
He came alone knowing no one would want to go with him
His scowl deepens anytime your date makes you smile
He hates seeing your dates hand resting on your waist as the two of you are dancing
It hurts him to see you happy with your date wishing it could be him.
He hates himself for not having the courage to have asked you, but the fear of rejection was far too much for him
During a break from dancing he’s surprised when you come up to him and ask him if he’s ok.
“I noticed you lurking over here and wanted to check you were ok.”
He offers you a small smile and says everything is ok even though he knows it’s not because he wishes he was with you
James Potter:
He doesn’t hide his jealousy well.
He glares at your date
Remus and Sirius are teasing him the whole night
James will ask a random girl to dance, and dance as close to you and your date as possible, showing off with some extravagant dance moves hoping you will notice him
He will definitely pull pranks on other students in the hope of getting your attention
James “accidentally” bumps into your date causing him to fall over and embarrass himself in front of you.
He gives your date a fake apology but mutters under his breath that the prat deserved it
Towards the end of the night he catches you alone, and as a slow song comes on he asks you to dance
He tells you that you look beautiful and that you deserve better than your date
Sirius Black:
He leans against a wall glaring at your date the whole night.
Sirius definitely snuck in some Firewhisky in a flask to help him feel better
He loudly flirts with other girls in the hopes of getting your attention
His eyes keep flicking towards you hoping that you noticed
When that doesn’t work he goes back to sulking and drinking
Remus and James definitely tease him
James helps Sirius to prank your date
He suggests a hex that turns your dates hair bright green
He acts innocent when you look over to Sirius and James knowing one of them is behind it
If your date oversteps Sirius is quick to jump in to protect you
Sirius asks you for a dance towards the end of the night
He tells you that you should be here with him

Tomura Shigaraki x Witch Reader
fluff inspired by the prompt: "listening to the other's heartbeat" thanks for sending it anon, sorry this one took a while to update! I usually try to keep things relatively blank/fill in your own info for a lot of x reader but at some point that becomes really boring or difficult to write. in this case, the dog didn't have a name initially but after editing this, she does now because this part is pretty dog heavy and there are only so many times of saying "the dog" before it sounds less like an included character and more like some rando dog that you barely know and don't care about. so anyways, her name is Hazel like witch hazel! (both for the name + Tomura finds her soothing)
[previous] [series masterlist]

Spring has fully taken off, which means you've been here for weeks now.
The transition to moving in with Tomura went smoother than expected. Not only do you have your own bedroom with a door and everything, you now have fancier furniture than you know what to do with.
Sure, you had a bed in your cottage but it was hard and rustically made, to put it nicely. It’s all you ever knew before this though, so you were used to it. This one is wool that you sink softly into. The sheets are soft and smooth against your skin. Every night, you’ve had dreams about sleeping in a cloud – which makes sense, you basically are.
Even Tomura’s chairs are nicer, plushy where yours weren't. It's taken you some time to get used to the luxuries, but Hazel has adapted fast – not wasting any time before cozying into her own small bed placed in your room.
Of course, there is still so much you miss about your cottage.
Your belongings. Your garden. The warmth of your small space. Particularly on windy nights like tonight when the old house holds a draft that can't be easily quelled. The window sashes shake against the force of the salty air coming off the ocean.
You’re happy to have somewhere safe to be though, in spite of it all.
Living with another person has been less jarring than you expected as well. Neither of you are particularly intrusive – he mostly keeps to himself, leaving for solid days without warning, holing up in the study, and spending hours in his room doing...something. If you’re being honest, you’ve barely seen him since the two of you arrived here.
Tonight you hear him. The sound of him scraping at something in his room turns to footsteps creaking on the old stairs. You peek your head out to make sure he’s okay.
Tomura stands at the window, staring out. Absentmindedly, he pets the dog’s head when she rubs against his leg.
Things have felt different since you’ve arrived. Maybe it was always like this. You did only know him for one night before moving in and of that night, you spent most of it asleep. Still, there’s a certain tension in the air that you don’t recall from before. His gaze never quite meets your eyes but you catch him stealing glances when he doesn’t think you’re looking. It’s probably normal, all part of adjusting to having another person in your space.
“Night,” he mumbles before continuing up the stairs to his room. You go back to yours, staring out the window for a while. There's something else out there after sundown. It doesn't permeate into his yard, but you can feel it all around. There's a distinctly different, dark energy on everything.
It almost feels like it’s getting stronger.

By the time you wake up, the wind has died into a gentle breeze – it’s time to get to work, you have a long day ahead of you.
Even with the on and off rains, you’ve been busy rebuilding something close to a temporary replacement for your garden. While you don’t intend to stay here forever, you have no immediate plans for where you’ll go yet. Thus, it made sense to have a small patch here – at least for this year. Tomura was happy to let you use whatever space you’d like to and, while he never actually said it, his eyes lit up at the prospect of fresh fruits and vegetables. You wonder the last time he made himself an actual meal. From what you’ve seen, there’s been nothing but quick to heat grains in the house until you arrived. Even now, there’s not much more you can make with what limited supplies you have.
There’s a windowed area built onto the side of the house that makes the perfect greenhouse. It’s a bit overgrown and, like everything else here, in some state of disrepair, but you don’t mind. It’s still spring so there’s a bit of time left to get most seeds going. Beets, peas, and sunflower shoots are all spilling over the edges of their pots. Some have been transplanted already, you’re slowly moving what you can into the plots you dug up. Hazel came out and helped, but it’s unclear how much she understands of the situation and you think she may have just wanted an excuse to play in the dirt.
What you’ve been able to grow will have to do for now, considering that they’re the only seeds you had stuck drying between the pages of your grimoire. Soon you’ll also need to go into town for more seeds, you’re not sure when that will be safe though. Tomura knows you need the seeds, in addition to other necessities, and said he has an idea. That was the second day you were here. Neither of you have brought it up since then.
In the meantime, you’ll have to go back into the forest to forage. It’s the least you can do to repay him for allowing you to stay.
You’re not really sure what Tomura is doing this morning, but you’d like to take advantage of the nicer weather. The breeze is warmer than the past few days and the clouds look unassuming. While your magic has never been perfectly in tune with the weather, you have no concerns. It’s as good of a day as any for a walk.
After feeding yourself and Hazel then tending to the new plants, you’re ready to go. In the few weeks you’ve spent in this house, you haven't seen a basket anywhere so you bring an extra piece of cloth to wrap what you gather for the return trip.
When you walked here before, you were exhausted. Sure, you remember some of your surroundings, but you didn’t get a close look at them.
Tomura’s house is the only one remaining in what used to be a small town by the looks of it. Outlines of the houses still remain. Neither you nor your dog move closer to investigate. You can see well enough from the road. Their blackened foundations are etched into the landscape by a powerful dark magic. It feels similar to what you saw Tomura use the night your cottage burned down, but more concentrated. Part of you wants to ask him about it, but given that he’s the only person you’ve seen out here, you could probably guess. It’s hard to wrap your head around it, this was done by the same person who so easily took you in when you were in need. He’s not someone you’d describe as warm or friendly, but the juxtaposition of his doings still feels incomprehensible. You can see why they call him the symbol of fear.
The darkness appears to stretch over the entire peninsula. By the time you’ve reached the end, you’ve almost gotten used to the vacant lots. The rolling grass hills feel out of nowhere.
Up you go, following a faint path to the top of the ridgeline. Rather than going back out towards the town, you continue straight into the forest. The trees become less windswept, growing closer together. Soon you’re back in your element.
Recent rains, followed by the warmer weather brought up a huge crop of mushrooms. The faint orange clusters stand out against the detritus. You cut off what you can carry, stuffing them in your makeshift bag. A few bunches of fiddlehead ferns catch your eyes as well. You take some of the tender shoots that have yet to unfurl. The cloth wrapped around your shoulder fills easily as you collect. With any luck, this should last you a few days.
Following Hazel further into the forest, you come across a stream. The two of you stop for water before continuing further up the hill. Light shines brighter through the trees and the sound of water grows louder. In a few more turns, the stream widens beneath a waterfall. It’s not massive by any means, but still just as pretty. Water trickles down boulders between vivid green moss. Hazel jumps in immediately. You watch as she plays in the water, taking off your boots to do the same.
There’s something about beautiful spaces that makes you forget time. Hours slip by faster and before you know it the sun is settling behind the trees much sooner than you expected. Warm light illuminates the stream as you follow it back down the hill towards the peninsula. It looks like a golden snake slithering its way down to the ocean. You turn as soon as the trees begin to thin, in search of the faint trail that led you here.
The sunset fades to pink, then darkens quickly.
Too quickly.
A sense of foreboding overwhelms you as you rush down the grass covered hill towards the house. Once more, you curse yourself for not knowing more protective spells. Summoning some small amount of energy from the surrounding plants, you cast a thin shield over yourself and Hazel. It’s not much but it will be better than nothing. You hope the feeling is all in your head.
By the time you reach the road, darkness surrounds you. It’s as if the air you breathe is closing in around you. Everything goes cold, you’re shivering as you rush as fast as you can. But fast isn’t fast enough. It feels like a dream when you’re trying to run and being held back. You feel the spell you cast being pulled off of you. Then, warm hands on your shoulders.
Startled, you turn to find yourself face to face with Tomura.
“Take Hazel and run,” he growls.
“What about you?” he doesn’t respond, shoving past you.
Through the haze, you manage to follow your dog towards the house. Your legs move easier now, but you still feel yourself in the grasp of an entity you can’t quite place. Focusing on throwing one foot in front of the other, you make it to the end of the peninsula.
As soon as you stumble through the gate, the world expands. Goosebumps disappear from your skin as the temperature rises back to normal. Hazel stands nearby, panting while watching something outside the fence. She seems to have fared better than you in all of this, whatever it is didn’t seem to hold onto her the same as it did to you.
Just as you start to get worried, Tomura stumbles through the gate, slamming it shut behind him. You jump up to help him, noticing a slew of new cuts over his face and hands. The two of you make it a few steps with you supporting his weight before falling onto the grass.
His arms hang limply over you, holding you to his chest. His breathing is slow, shallow. You listen for his heartbeat. It beats wildly, calming over time as the two of you catch your breath. He begins to stir, allowing you to roll onto your back.
“What was that?” you gasp.
“Nothing you need to deal with,” he grumbles, “why did you leave here without me?”
Hazel has settled in on his other side, head resting on his shoulder.
“To find dinner,” you say, pulling the nearly forgotten bundle of food from your shoulder.
“Next time come find me, I’ll go with you. No one should go into that forest alone at night, especially not you.”
“Why me?” you ask, “I notice whatever it is didn’t go for Hazel in the same way.”
“You have magic.” He sighs, sleepily. “And as of now, you’re also tied to me. So he wants you more than before.”
“So, having a connection to you makes him more interested in me?”
“Forget I said anything,” Tomura mumbles.
There are so many questions you have that would take days to answer, but you know you won’t get anything out of him tonight. Instead, you lay here staring up at the stars. Eventually, he breaks the silence.
“Do you think all of this would have happened anyways, without the potion?”
“Maybe,” you say. “I mean, it’s quite the coincidence that you just so happened to be passing by my cottage at the times you were. If it wasn’t the potion, something brought us together.”
“Like fate?” he asks.
“If you believe in that sort of thing.” All of your conversations with Tomura up to this point have led you to believe he's too practical to buy into such things.
“The fact that we can have our destinies tied together by a potion implies that fate is real. And if fate is real, wasn’t I always destined to end up on your doorstep somehow?” He’s moved closer, pressing up onto his elbow to face you. Of course he would have some sensible reasoning but it's a surprise to you how much he seems to have thought into your intertwined lives. Initially, he shrugged it off like he didn't care. Maybe he feels more than he lets on. Suddenly, you're aware of the closeness between the two of you.
“Hmm,” you say slowly, giving yourself time to think. You wish you had more experience with conversations like this. “I never thought of it that way.”
“No? How do you see it then?” he presses. Not in a demanding way, more like he's insatiably curious. It's an interesting feeling, it's not that you've never spoken with people, you have, but no one has ever wanted your opinion on something. Not like this.
“I don’t know, the future feels like some nebulous cloud of possibility. This just solidified a direction.”
“So you do believe in fate?” His eyes scream 'I'm right' but his smile remains playful. Something in you melts against your will, making it hard to find the right words.
“In some way,” you contemplate, “I think there are still some choices within it. But I guess so. This was always an outcome.”
“Does that matter to you?” he asks, leaning in closer. You can feel him a short breath away.
“Does fate matter?” you ask.
“No, does it matter if it was a potion or not? You're the first person I've ever been close with and I'm assuming it's the same for you. Does it bother you that this is all from something you created?” a flash of genuine concern crosses his face before you open your mouth to answer.
“No.” You state it definitively, bringing the curiosity back into his features. “No, it doesn't bother me. If we're going through our lives like this regardless, I'd rather not let anything cheapen it. This is how it is and we'll never know otherwise. Besides, we create everything in our lives. Some of us just have other means of making things happen.”
His eyes narrow at you as he smirks, “is that not what got you into this mess? If you weren't making love potions for half the town–” he drops it, realizing the last half of his sentence is less fun than he intended. “Uhm, speaking of the town,” he continues, more seriously. “I am still working on that.”
“How's that going? Unless you can transform us, I don't see how we won't stand out immediately in that crowd.”
“Don't worry,” he assures you, “I have it all figured out.”

I'm gonna try to speedrun analysing this TEASER
My initial guess is that it's gonna be a very symbolic video, much Vivinos's initial videos were. It will have a lot of visual metaphors flashing in between scenes that will have simple surface, but a very complex depth.
The video will most definitely be focused on MiziSua. Which makes sense, considering they are the first characters introduced in the swries, so it makes sense that they help close the climax (and the series itself, if what I've heard is true.)
The TEASER shows at first a few flashbacks to of Mizi and Sua. Some are from their childhood and Anakt Garden and the others are from their performance. They look happy in thos photos, as though everything is perfect.

The teaser has a few images that portray just how centered around toxic worship MiziSua is. They love each othee, that much is true. But the images portray how brutal that love can be to the both of them. It, in a very strange way, takes from their humanity while also showcasing it fully. It's the love that encompasses everything, and not in a healthy way.
Then we get the matchuo board with flowers blooming on the images of Till, Ivan and Sua. The flowers were mainly connected to Mizi, so this could be her remebering their deaths, mourning them, and also going through Survivor's guilt by connecting her presence to every one of them.

Then we get to see Mizi and Sua right before their performance, having a massive arguement. Mizi seems like she is trying to change Sua's mind about something, while Sua tries to push her away while staying stubborn. This also helps portray how much stronger Mizi is than Wua, something that does seems to play a role in their relationship.
We get a closeup of Sua's face before it cuts to Mizi holding up a gun facing foward, with a sorrowful expression. Like this is taking everything in her to do, despite knoeing it's the right choice.
My predictions based on all these things is that it'll be more Mizi-centric than anything.
This mught be a video about her survivor's guilt boiling over the edge, and sending her into a deep spiral about the deaths fo all her loved ones. She might have flashbacks of Ivan and Till too. Maybe even some of Hyuna to some extent. This all culminates into her just breaking down, and staying stuck in the past.
But it will also be about her growing past it. Sua was someone she loved more than anything , someone she worshiped. When she died, her presence haunted the narrative so deeply, and destroyed her mentally.
She remains chained to the past, and the memories of Sua cause her survivor's guilt to only grow. She seconds guesses what she knew about Sua and tries to find to answers as to what she was thinking.
But by the end, I think Mizi will finally be able to move on from Sua. She will let go of her memory, and cut her off from her life. She will stop letting her haunt her narrative.
She will never get the answers she wants from Sua, and she will never get to see her face again. She might come to this realization and be able to move on.

They do seem so excited!
Q. I mostly just wonder what kinds of storylines they're going to be able to tell without Bobby/Peter. And how successfully they'll be able to tell them. It feels like it will be a big change.
A. The fact that you're even remotely worried about them not being able to tell decent storylines without Bobby kind of proves there was a problem though, don't you agree? I would also argue that they weren't necessarily doing a very good job of telling compelling storylines with Bobby either. Before I go further I will say that we don't know they aren't still trying to work something out with Peter. I'm currently operating under the belief that he's gone, but Peter is not a television actor who is going to stay unemployed long, and the fact that he's not attached to another project yet does give me pause. Okay moving on. What's the last really good storyline they told? I genuinely am struggling to come up with one. The opening arc of season 8 was great, but it wasn't a storyline. It was an opening disaster story arc.
The Eddie storyline this season was beautifully done initially, and was shaping up to be amazing, but they derailed it to do the lab/Bobby stuff. Maddie's kidnapping storyline was good, but it certainly wasn't great, and didn't really serve any actual story purpose. It was just something for her to do for a couple of episodes. Tim has become much more interested in big disaster episodes and the show has suffered as a result. The show needs a reset back to the basics. Tell actual character driven storylines. That's what the audience seems to want. That shouldn't be that hard to do. I also want to add that compared to the hiatus between seasons 7 and 8, the cast seems genuinely excited about season 9. Oliver actually stayed in L.A, and stayed engaged. That's a big deal. For now Kenny seems to be sticking to the Peter/Bobby stuff, but the rest of them seem genuinely excited about what's to come. I love this show. And I love these characters. Change is of course scary, but can be a much needed reset sometimes. We just have to see. We don't know anything for certain. It would be nice if people would wait to judge things until we actually get something to judge.
Thank you Nonny! Much appreciated, as usual!
Yeah, I do agree. There was a problem with the storylines, both in season 7 and 8. It already started well into season 6, but those were the FOX days, so let's focus on 7 and 8 for this.
A few of the storylines were really botched. There were some good elements there as well, but most storylines of season 8 weren't memorable. And that is a problem for a show like 911. If you want to remain popular it's imperative that you create compelling storylines that people want to watch.
Season 8 had enough highlights to have people come back for season 9, but they need to up their game in this new season. A few good storylines, episodes, highlights during a season isn't enough.
They need to go back to basics and create complete story arcs for their characters. They need to think about where the characters start (A) in season 9 and where do they see them at the end (B) of season 9. Then they need to start filling in their storylines for the season, figure out how to logically get them from point A to B.
All the while staying true to their character as well. I feel like some characters made decisions or did things that go completely against the core of who they truly are in season 7 and 8.
But I am hopeful that ABC has finally stepped in and told Tim in no uncertain terms that he has to step up his game this season. Both Ryan and Oliver seem very relaxed and happy these days. They are also getting a lot of exposure, which is very interesting. 🤔
Kenny and Aisha have been around as well, posting some stuff here and there. They all look more at ease somehow.
As for Peter/Bobby? As I said before two posts back: for now I'm choosing to believe he's really dead to preserve my sanity. I am not expecting to see him back on season 9. But if he ever were to come back? I wouldn't be disappointed at all. On the contrary. 😋
Heads up! For anyone who is giving me the shifty eyes for reposting Ali's updates instead of reblogging. Read this.

9-1-1 s9 ep 1: “Fault Line”
To Preface:
This is a long ass post that I am putting under a cut for ease if scrolling by if you don’t feel like reading. This is literally just a fun little outline of how I would write the season opener if I were showrunner- obviously it’s not going to be perfect, and if it were ever a real episode there would absolutely be edits made- this is just me having fun.
For context this is set about three-ish months after the end of s8, and would take place in late September-ish in my head. It does end on a cliffhanger since it’s only the opening episode of the opening disaster, but I might be compelled to write outlines for the other two (idk tho so im not gonna promise anything)
and last but not least: some actions/words from some of these characters might come off as cold/harsh, but this is literally not even half a year after bobby died so like- none of them have passed the grieving stage yet and are still not in great mental states- in my head a lot if the initial conflicts between characters that would not usually be fighting would be resolved by the third episode, but since this is only the first of three, those conflicts will not be resolved here. again- this will end on somewhat of a cliffhanger, but it’s nothing like drastic; just a basic “oh shit that just happened” ending
anyway if you’re still here, i hope you enjoy my long ass post :))) <3
9x01: “Fault Line”
We open on Athena staying in May’s apartment with her while she hunts for a new place. Athena goes through her morning routine, and we see that she’s on depression meds. Her morning seems to go well, but May is definitely Concerned™️ about her, even if she doesn’t say anything. Athena arrives at her precinct, greeting everyone, going about her morning, changing into her uniform. She goes out on patrol, and we see her chase a few bad guys, run a few tickets, just casual stuff, nothing crazy, until all of a sudden as she’s driving- what she thinks is a small earthquake hits and she pulls off to the side of the road to make sure everyone is okay. After a few moments, she hears another rumbling sound- she thinks it might be an aftershock, but when she turns around she sees a new highrise building collapsing, filling the streets around them with rubble as she and a few other pedestrians enter a storefront to avoid the rubble.
Cue: “9-1-1” intro screen
“A Few Days Ago”
Athena is in therapy with Frank, who is asking her how she’s doing. She is obviously masking her grief, telling him that she’s moved past it and has to focus on doing her job. He tells her that there is nothing wrong with still processing her grief over losing her husband, that no one would blame her for taking time. She tells him that the last time she lost someone, she held onto that grief for 30 years before she was able to let it go and it hardened her, and that she didn’t want to do the same with Bobby. Frank then asks how the 118 is doing in the wake of Bobby’s death.
Cut to, the 118 responding to a call. Chim is acting captain, Buck and Ravi are on heavy rescue, and and Eddie is partnered with Hen as a paramedic. Immediately, something is off- everyone is working well, doing their job, but the energy has shifted. Initially it seems to be because Bobby is gone, but as the rescue goes- a small sinkhole- we see that Eddie is pointedly ignoring Buck, while Hen and Chim are being snippy with each other- poor Ravi just stressed and confused as usual. After a few cliche “will they save the day” moments, they do save the day and begin to pack up the scene; this is where we really see the awkward tension in the group.
Commercial Break
They return to the station where it’s the end of their shift. Buck asks Eddie how Chris is enjoying high school so far, and Eddie gives him a short, clipped answer before walking away. Buck is left looking like a sad dog, before he turns to see Chim making his way to the captain’s office. He calls out for him and asks if he wants Buck to record Jee’s dance recital. Chim tells him that there’s no need, and that there’s no way he’s missing Jee’s first recital. Ravi comments on the fact that Chim looks exhausted before he and Buck walk out of the station together.
Athena gets home to find May on the phone with someone- she tells them that her mom just got home and that she needs to go, but she’ll text them later. Athena asks who that was and May tells her that it was just a friend. She asks Athena how therapy went, and Athena tells her “it was therapy.” May then asks how Athena is adjusting to her new medication, and Athena tells her that she’s adjusting fine. May asks if she wants to talk about it and Athena deflects, changing the subject to May’s senior year of college.
Hen gets home to find Karen alone in the house. She asks where Denny and Mara are, and Karen tells her that they both had sleepovers planned since it was a weekend. Hen looks a little dejected, and Karen asks her what’s wrong. Hen tells her that she feels like with extracurriculars and sleepovers, she feels like they never see the kids anymore. Karen tells her that their kids are growing up, and that they have their own personalities and lives. Hen sighs and tells her that she’s not sure she’s ready to acknowledge that her kids are growing up, and Karen tells her that their kids will be in college, and they still won’t be ready for them to grow up. Karen then says that there’s one good thing about the kids not being there though, Hen asking her what that is before Karan grabs her hand and pulls her towards their bedroom.
While they wait for Jee’s recital to start, Buck is venting to Maddie about how Eddie isn’t speaking to him and he doesn’t understand why. Maddie tells him that maybe Eddie’s busy with Chris starting high school, and having to shift to being a paramedic while Chim is intirum captain. Buck counters with the fact that Eddie would have asked for help if that were the case, but that he hasn’t. He tells Maddie that he’s been trying to give Eddie and Chris space to get settled after moving back but that this feels like he’s being iced out. Maddie suggests that maybe Eddie feels a bit like Buck’s been ignoring him, spending more time with Ravi lately, but Buck disagrees saying that he still tries to talk to Eddie, so he can’t possibly feel like Buck is ignoring him. Before they can continue, Jee’s recital starts and they look around for Chim who hasn’t gotten there yet.
Cut to the fire house where Chim has passed out in the captain’s chair, being woken up by the B shift captain, telling him it’s now almost 8. Chim panics, rushing out of the firehouse to his car, speeding through LA to get to Jee’s school, only to find that the recital had finished.
Commercial Break
Maddie arrives at Dispatch the next day, Josh asking how Jee’s recital went, and Maddie tells him it went fine, but that Chim was beating himself up over missing it. Maddie tells Josh that she tried to make sure Chim knew it wasn’t the end of the world, but that there was no consoling for him. She tells him that Chim took the kids out for the day to make it up to himself. Her attention is caught by Linds informing a caller that a noise complaint is not a valid reason to dial 9-1-1, before she hangs up and looks at Maddie and Josh telling them that another person called about the new luxury high rise being built. Maddie says that the site is right next to the 118 and that Chim says that the construction can be heard all day during a shift and that it’s hard to concentrate on anything because of how loud it is.
Buck knocks on Eddie’s door, waiting for him to answer. Eddie opens the door and Buck notices he’s dressed to go out. He asks what Eddie is doing and Eddie tells him that he’s having lunch with Karen and Hen. Buck asks if Chris is doing anything and Eddie tells him that Chris is at his friends’ for the weekend. Buck tells Eddie that he had hoped they might be able to hang out that day, to which Eddie says, maybe some other time, before pushing past him and leaving Buck alone on the doorstep.
Athena drives by her and Bobby’s old house, watching from her patrol car as the family who bought the house leave for some sort of weekend activity. She sits there for a moment before silently driving away.
Eddie is at the Wilsons’ for lunch- the three of them laughing over something as Karen sets a tray of sandwiches down on the table. The conversation shifts to Chris starting high school. Eddie tells them it’s been an adjustment, that the house is a bit emptier without him there all the time since he has so many clubs he’s a part of. Hen tells Eddie he needs to get out more. Karen scoffs and jokingly calls Hen a hypocrite before telling Eddie about thier conversation from the night before about not beign ready for kids to grow up. Eddie attests to the reality of that and says he still wishes he could carry Chris around in his arms and play legos with the kid, but that that’s the beauty of growing up- they become their own person and that they need the freedom to explore themselves and learn who they are; adding on that he knows from personal experience how not getting that opportunity can mess with you. Karen points out Eddie’s words of wisdom and he shrugs, saying therapy has helped him and that all that time alone leaves him with a lot of time to think. He then pivots the conversation back to Hen’s feelings on her empty nest syndrome and tellls her that if she had accepted the captain position she wouldn’t feel this way. Hen deadpans that she’s already pissed at Chim, jokingly warning Eddie not to piss her off too.
May and Buck are getting coffee- Buck thanking her for agreeing to meet with him. May jokes that she misses their brother-sister coffe dates to which Buck roles his eyes but smiles all the same. Buck notices May texting someone with a smile on her face, asking who she’s talking to, her telling him it’s none of his business. Buck says “so there is someone” before May deflects by asking if he’s been seeing anybody lately. Buck tells her that he’s taking a break from dating- taking Maddie’s advice and learning to be alone before he tries to start another relationship. He explains that he’s always felt like he’s always grown attached to his partners too quickly, often romanticizing what they had to the point where he thought his feelings were stronger than they were, when in reality he didn’t really ever like his exes deep down except for taylor and abby. He says that by learning to be alone he’s training himself not to latch on to his partner. May tells him that she doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with being attached to your partner as long as it’s genuine and built off of true commitment and trust- not just immediately throwing yourselves at each other. saying that that love needs to grow snd build before going all in. That she learned that from her mom and Bobby. Buck asks her how she’s doing and May tells him that she’s just worried for her mom. Buck tells her that he’s there for her if she needs him, and May thanks him. May gets a notification on her phone- Buck joking that it’s her someone before she tells him no- that she has Athena on Find My Friends now, and that Athena was just at their old house.
Commercial Break
Athena gets home and May asks her how her day was. Athena tells her it was a slow shift and that she’s hoping that the next day might be a little more exciting. May stays quiet for a moment, Athena asking if she’s okay before May tells her that she knows Athena went by the house today. Athena asks her what she means and May reminds her that after she left for college, they shared their locations with each other on Find My Friends, and that she still gets notifications for the old house, and she got one that Athena was there. She asks what she was doing and Athena deflects telling her that she responded to a call on the street and that’s all- May of course sees right through this, telling her that she’s not upset that Athena was there, it’s that Athena is clearly not okay and that she wants her to be honest with her. Athena argues that she is being honest, but May tells her she knows she’s not- that she knows her mom well enough to know that’s not true. That she misses Bobby too and she’s still not over it- that she doesn’t think she ever will be- but that bottling it up and ignoring the problem will just make it worse, telling Athena that she’s already lost one parent, she can’t lose another. Athena stays silent, turning and leaving the room as she goes to her own room- tears streaming down her face.
Maddie gets home from her shift to find Chim sitting on the couch, watching Jee’s recital on their tv, looking dejected. Maddie asked how his day was and Chim responded by saying that Jee asked why he missed her recital. Maddie sympathetically tries to tell him that she’ll understand when she’s a little older that Chim’s job is important. Chim cuts her off by saying that his job is not more important than his daughter- that he’s already missing so much of Jee’s kindergarten events, and that Robbie is growning so quickly that Chim feels like he blinks and the baby’s grown two sizes. He tells Maddie that he had an absent father, and that he doesn’t want his kids to feel thst same way. Maddie tries to tell him that they won’t have an absent father, but Chim scoffs telling her that that’s what he feels like. He storms off, leaving Maddie alone on the couch- Jee’s recital still playing as she starts to cry.
We then see the same montage of Athena getting ready for work, only this time after she leaves May’s apartment we cut to
A shift arriving at the firehouse. Ravi is filling Buck in on something that happened to him on their days off, Eddie side-eyeing them as he silently makes his way into the locker room. Ravi greets Eddie, getting nothing but a small noncommittal “hey” in return. Ravi doesn’t think anything of it, going back into his story but Buck cuts him off asking Eddie what his problem is. Eddie looks at him- shock, anger, hurt on his face- asking what Buck just said.
Cut to Hen sighing as she sits down in the loft. Chim is silently sitting at the table, eating his breakfast. She comments on the weekend being rough, saying that the kids were all out of the house and she was bored out of her mind with no one there. Chimney scoffs at that, Hen asking what’s the matter.
We see interspersed Athena’s montage of calls.
Buck repeats himself asking what Eddie’s problem is.
Chim tells Hen that he missed Jee’s first dance recital because he was so bone tired from all the paperwork he had to do that he fell asleep in the officd.
Eddie squares up and says Buck is his problem. Ravi asking no one in particular “uhh what’s going on” but he gets ignored.
Hen asks why Chim is catching an attitude with her, and he snaps- telling her its her fault for not accepting the job that everyone assumed she wanted having been interim captain for before that now he’s having to donit and is missing important milestones in his kids’ lives while Hen is sitting still home apparently twiddling her thumbs.
Eddie tells Buck that ever since he moved back with Chris, it’s like Buck doesn’t even exist anymore- that he moved out without even mentioning it to Eddie, he stopped coming over, and that Chris keeps asking what he did wrong. Buck tells Eddie that he’s not ignoring them to which Eddie tells him that it sure feels like it.
Hen, getting defensive, tells Chim that he’s being unfair, but Chim snaps back that it’s unfair that he’s missing his kids’ lives because he’s doing what should be Hen’s job.
At that moment the small earthquake hits. Chim jumps to action telling everyone to standby and be prepared for calls to come rolling in any moment. Hen grabs Chim’s arm, stopping him from walking away. She asks if Chim really blames her for all of it, and Chim frowns, telling her that he doesn’t see who else’s fault it would be.
Just then, the station begins rumbling again- Chim saying “aftershock” before they start hearing screams from outside, followed by large crashes. Chim looks out on of the windows and notices the sight if rubble falling from the sky- realizing what must be happening. He shouts out over the firehouse for everyone to take cover right as a wave if debris and rubble crashes into the fire house.
After a few moments, Hen and Chim help each other to their feet- asking if each other is alright before assessing the damage. Chim mutters “holy shit” under his breath as the camera turns around to show almost the entirety of the engine bat filled with rubble- burrying the engine, ladder truck, and rig under layers if debris. Buck, Eddie and Ravi are all unharmed and trapped in the locker room while a few other A shift members are scattered around the firehouse with small cuts and bruises. Hen says “that’s not good” before the scene cuts to black.

Premise one: I feel that this is rather well-known information by now, but still. Mandatory clarification that "mastery" is a concept that's improperly employed by the eng localisation (likely out of commodity), though there is at least one instance where the translation closely follows the jp text. Semantics Important

Premise two: I'll reference a couple of things from other games because they retroactively help recontextualise Riku's behavior in part, but the story that KH1 wants to tell does stand on its own regardless of their inclusion. He's just my special boy ok
Having said that. Rivalry!

Much of the conflict between Sora and Riku is shaped along the lines of what makes a hero. In light of this, it's only fitting that KH1 is the game that most closely follows the structure of a fairy tale, but that's a story for another day. I think that the initial uncertainty on whether there'd be a sequel really pushed the devs to, ah, "go ham", because KH1 is both a miniature coming of age story for Sora and the setup for many elements that will recur in the future. At the core of this idea is one world in particular, but I think that it's better to set the stage first
Home sweet home

...... Well!
Destiny Islands is a weird, fun place. I feel that many people remember KH1's prologue through rose-tinted glasses of sorts, "the simpler, better times before...", but to me it owes much of its charm to the tension between the location that it's set in (a child's dream playground, a pseudo locus amoenus even, if will) and the events that take place during it. Sora, Riku, and Kairi have been making preparations for something for some time now. The other kids don't quite know what, but they suspect that it's something dangerous - which it is. And Sora is a fourteen-year-old boy who's constantly compared and made to feel inferior to his best friend, who has been acting strangely and cruelly for a while without anyone understanding why. Growing pains...... Being on Destiny Islands at this time feels like being on a precipice. The game is really effective at capturing a certain Vibe of adolescence (this idea of being stuck in the middle of two opposite forces), but when it comes to Sora and Riku over time the unease between them develops from mundane competitiveness (however hurtful in its actualization) into a bigger conflict, one that's tied both to their characters and to the broader narrative of Kingdom Hearts

The notion that Sora can "always rely on Riku" specifically is super important. The other kids tease Sora because they perceive him to be weak and unreliable compared to him, and Riku... Well, Riku has internalized this belief as well in his urgency to just grow up and just leave already, or at least he tries to fool himself into thinking that he has, when really

One might wonder what it is exactly that led him to close himself off and double down on adopting a cool, cocky persona, but 🤫
Regardless, Riku's longing for strength and independence has quite honorable, gentle origins, ones that eventually begin to shine anew after he's freed of Ansem SoD's influence

Riku feels a certain entitlement to the title of hero, and he isn't entirely unjustified for that, but by KH1's prologue his anxieties and his impatience have already planted some seeds in him, and over time and through the influence of darkness his ambitions get warped into something self-serving rather than something altruistic. It's at this point that Riku is most cruel to Sora. Riku doesn't forcibly deprive Sora of the keyblade just because the Kingdom Key was originally his and he really wants it back, Riku does it because he actively wants to bring himself up by disempowering Sora. Like he says, this isn't rivalry anymore. It's viciousness, and it's why it's no mistake that this event keeps being referenced to this day, in varying degrees of subtlety

Nomura tells us that all that Riku does to save Kairi, he mainly does out of regret for his actions ("He's a surprising immoral guy"), and who am I object to the Word of God, but I can't help but think of it as a misguided attempt to prove himself. He is the hero! He is! Not Sora! Not Sora, who is younger and smaller and needs him to look after him.........

When the reality is that Sora scares him a little, Sora absolutely disarms him without even meaning to or being aware of it. And so Riku shuts him out, he shuts him out and he also tries his best to keep their dynamic as unbalanced as possible, because that's what allows him to both feel secure in his role and keep Sora dependent on him. Because what is it that Riku fears might happen if Sora were to realise that his presence isn't something that he needs in order to pull through?

... Yeah. It's really no wonder that this is what Maleficent latches on to in order to manipulate and corrupt him
As stated before, contrarily to Riku, Sora enters the story as an underdog, a normal boy who gets saddled with a task that wasn't meant for him - with having to be a hero - out of need, but it's no surprise that Riku's light can acknowledge Sora before he is ready to consciously do it as well: Riku is harsh on Sora to cover up how inadequate he makes him feel, and in turn those feelings of inadequacy are a reflection of his profound understanding of just how good Sora is

Riku's changes for the worse don't go without repercussions on Sora's state, which is why much of his journey throughout KH1 is split between two goals: an altruistic one - finding his friends, as well as helping Donald and Goofy on their quest, and a self-serving one - being acknowledged by the people around him. Hey, those are familiar words
It's an uphill climb, one that's made really evident by his time in Olympus Coliseum in particular. His rashness gains him his own turn at being directly mess with by a thematically-relevant villain, too

It's not surprising that Sora reacts with cockiness to the situation that he finds himself in: for what's probably the first time in his life, it's him that everyone is relying on, and he lets it go to his head a little. Not enough to distract him from what's most important, but just enough to feel the sting of Riku's jabs (who is very much projecting whenever he opens his mouth about this topic)

Their reunion in Traverse Town is a miniature minefield, because Riku's immediate instinct is to re-establish himself as the leader-keeper, and Sora's way of shutting down that thought is... a little bit of everything. On purpose, in my opinion. It's childish, it's a little arrogant, it's show-offy, it's kind of ridiculous, and it's a challenge to Riku's authority, one that he doesn't take well at all, least of all when he starts seeing in Donald and Goofy the realisation of his irrational fear of being abandoned by Sora

Sora is naive, but his inability to comprehend Riku's feelings has nothing to do with it and everything to do with his attunement to the bonds between people. They're the source of his strength! It could never cross his mind to doubt his connection to Riku, his best friend, least of all to consider it expendable or contingent on external factors

This unshakeable conviction is what defines Sora's progress, and it's what ultimately defines his path of heroism and makes the keyblade go back to him despite Riku's claim over it. Not fate or predestination, but belief and love for other people, so much love that it's detrimental to his own survival and that is also his way to hide just how little he thinks of himself even. Sora's story isn't that of a seemingly average boy who one day comes into his destined role, it's that of a boy who tenaciously fights for others and earns the right to wield a power that he was originally only granted out of necessity
I feel that this is what Riku's goodbye to Sora wants to get at

Pulling away for a second to say that no matter what, of course Riku genuinely wants Kairi to be safe, and the fact that Nomura doesn't even see it as the primary cause for his actions splits me between befuddlement and "Riku and Kairi have a complex relationship" hubris stocks. Even so, what I see in this line is also the renewed fulfillment of Sora's one selfish desire: acknowledgement. Acknowledgement from the person who most wanted him to be and remain a helpless boy on the sidelines, acknowledgement from one of the people he cares most deeply for, acknowledgement from someone who was meant to be a hero. Allowing himself to get sealed in the Realm of Darkness is not Riku's final act in KH1, Riku's final act in KH1 is to step down from his designated role and finally accept Sora, encourage him to be the hero that he couldn't be
#kingdom hearts#sora#riku#soriku#FINAAAAALLYYYYYYYY IT'S DOOOONEEEE IT'S OUT OF MY HEEEEEEAAAAD GRAAAAAHHHHHHHH#mandatory-#long post#-tag for this one#video games#mytext

. ࣪𓇻 ݁ᅠchapter 1 : i’ll see you when we’re home for the summer. 。
▌| character/s: finnick odair , annie cresta ▌| description: initial meetings by the poolside. ( annie cresta x gn!reader x finnick odair ) ( wc: 1.9k ) ▌| warning/s: none ( yet ) ▌| author’s note: additionally, a ( supposed one-shot ) fic with tidbits of my interactions with my crushes over the summers i’ve been in swimming classes. tried not to use y/n as much as i could and also tried to revert back to gn!reader. it's my first time writing a series ,,, urm ,,, go easy on me ,,, ▌| link/s: main navigation , "along the riverine nexus" series navigation
The unrelenting heat of summer had come to greet you in the local community pool. Sweat sticking to your skin after a light warmup with the coaches, the too-tight latex of your cap digging into your forehead made it annoying to wear.
You didn’t understand the point of it all— you lived by the sea. You were born to swim … the ability was just taking its time to manifest. So, no need to do lessons, right? School itself was enough learning.
In an attempt to argue your point with your parents, you tried showing off the little swimming skills you had … which was just paddling in the water. An amazing display, in your opinion. It kept you afloat. Alive. Which still wasn’t enough for them to be convinced not to enroll you in the local swimming classes District 4 usually held over summer break. They insisted that you needed a more formal way of learning.
Now, with a seemingly permanent frown etched on your face, you follow behind the gaggle of excited kids. In front of them all, was the loudest boy you have ever heard in your life. Bursting with life as he talked with his— who you assume to be— his friends, while the coaches led the small group near the 4ft. section of the pool. The water was the clearest shade of blue you’ve ever seen— not quite real, not quite familiar. It wasn’t the deep blue one would see in the sea but there wasn’t anything interesting in it. Not enough to hold your attention for long. No fish, no salt in your eyes— nothing.
There was another kid beside you. A little fidgety. Looking out of place as she swivels her head left and right, trying to find someone familiar, you think. The brunette then turns her head towards the other kids, her gaze eventually falling on you. Who was still staring at her.
“Hi.” In the softest tone one could muster, she greeted you. You felt kind of stupid when your mouth opened and closed, with no sound coming out. Her eyes were nearly the same familiar shade of sea-green you’ve known all your life. A singular thought ran through your head at that moment— pretty.
She began fiddling with her fingers, offering her name to you— Annie Cresta.
This time, you finally found your voice, and offered your own name. “Your name is really pretty.” You said with a smile.
The shy smile she flashed you in return nearly made your cheeks warm up. Maybe it was just the heat of the sun. You weren’t sure. But you were sure you gained a new friend today.
—
The stupid latex cap now was in your grasp. Chlorine will ruin your hair, you could practically hear your mother’s voice in your ear when she warned you at home. But neither parent was here to supervise you, so— like every independent person out there— you decided that the cap be damned. Comfort it is.
You felt a sudden jab to your side, a short pang lingering as Annie shot you a warning look. It’s hard to take her seriously with her kind features. Big, round eyes and the scrunch of her brows was just … cute. “Wear it.” She pointed towards the coaches, who were now demonstrating the importance of swimming goggles and— ugh— the cap.
“But he’s not wearing it!” In a petulant and whiny manner, you pointed your index finger at the boy in front earlier. He must have had sharp hearing though, perking up at your whisper to Annie, trying to find the source. You tried to cough discreetly, avoiding his curious stare that settled on both you and Annie at the back of the group.
Thankfully, your group was divided between those who could and couldn’t swim. You breathed a sigh of relief when he was grouped with the experienced swimmers and you— well, you and Annie stuck together like two peas in a pod. It was easy to fool around in the pool. Meeting her joyous smile that turned her eyes into crescents beneath the water, as you simultaneously dunked your heads. Bubbles floated around, the giddiness emanating from both of you, while both drew the air from your lungs and expelled it through your noses harshly.
For the following days, that was the new routine you’ve established—stick with Annie throughout the day. From the warmups on the heated concrete poolside, doing bubbles, to practicing (and struggling) kicks with a kickboard. With Annie’s help, you quickly learned how to better your form in the water. She also proudly gave you an anklet she made with a thread in your favorite color, its beads from small cowrie shells you’ve seen wash up on the shores of District 4. Later that day, you introduced the kind girl who shared a token of friendship with you— Annie— to your parents with the anklet in hand. You’ve been wearing it at all times, even in the shower. Nobody would be able to take it from you, even if they tried.
After a week passed, one of your coaches— Gadus— thought it would be fun to merge both groups together to “get to know each other.”
What he failed to mention, was that this meeting would be held by the 10ft. section of the wide pool— completely over on the other side where your group usually practiced. The tiles at the bottom transitioned from a shallow edge, which deepened on the other end. Gadus clapped his hands to get all of the kids’ attention. Some wanted to jump in already and were being held back by the other coaches, some were already playing with the surface of the water, and some were more reluctant to even face the deep end of the pool. You fell towards the latter half of the list, standing behind Annie to hide yourself from Gadus’ contemplative stare that swept over the children.
“How about…” Gadus’ blue eyes suddenly pinned you on the spot, “you! Over there, behind Annie!” He announced your name and beckoned you over to his side, introducing you to the other kids while you waved hesitantly.
“Come here, Finnick!” The kids parted to the side, and— oh god, it was the boisterous boy you were whispering about earlier— Gadus lightly pushed you toward his direction.
“I’m Finnick! Finnick Odair,” His upturned face had the most blinding smile you’ve seen on a person. You shake his hand, which he gripped firmly— enthusiastic in the way he shook it up and down.
“Okay, Finnick—” The coach started gently explaining how it was going to work, “I want you to take your partner and try to teach them how to float in this part of the pool, alright?”
“Everyone!” Gadus called for everyone’s attention again, “We’ll be pairing up the experienced kids with the beginners— just to let you mingle!”
The young boy, now holding onto your other hand, nodded eagerly. It was comforting to see, and it was easy to compare him to the golden retriever that visits your creaking house every morning. He turned his body to you, leaning in as if to whisper a secret. “Do you want me to keep holding you when we jump together?” There was a pause in the air, with you thinking about it. The coaches moved on with the other kids, entrusting you in the hands of another. If they could trust Finnick, why shouldn’t you?
You tipped your head down and quietly agreed. Finnick smiled, before counting out loud to prepare you for the eventual jump.
“3… 2… 1—!”
Opening your eyes underwater burned, but all you could see at that moment was your partner grinning at you. The subtle shift of your breath caught in your throat, his sea-green eyes glittering.
Pretty, you think again. Like Annie’s.
Before you could run out of oxygen, you break the surface of the water, inhaling large gulps of air. The sun blinds you once more, but Finnick’s hold remains steady. You tried to remember the coach’s demonstration, treading the pool, feeling the ripples as you calmed your breathing— trying not to think about the depth and the lack of footing beneath you. Closing your eyes, the liquid entering your ears and muffling your surroundings. Floating, your body weightless amidst the chaos other children were making around you two. Light. Free.
—
It became a common occurrence for Finnick to wave at you when you arrived at the pool. After that joint session, it was a pleasant surprise for you to see him during sunrise at the beach. He was a frequent visitor, but you were usually still asleep during the hours he frolicked in the sea. When the orange-tipped rays of the sun greet you, your father likes to take you out on a boat ride, the wood groaning under the weight, but still carrying it. You heard him one time. A loud shout rang in the empty beach— “Hey!” and Finnick was right there, waving both of his arms to get your attention. In your excitement to greet him, you jumped up in the small boat— and your father tried to sit you down. “We might fall!” he chided. Still, it didn’t take much for the small boat to tip over.
Your sputtering form was a sight to see and your father merely laughed as he swam with you ashore, while pulling the boat behind him.
Shivering from the coldness of the sea, the first thing he asked was: “Did you catch a fish?” with a smile, a small dimple forming on his face. Cheeky, you thought and shot him a look.
“I caught the air.”
“More like swallowed seawater.”
You sent a playful punch on his shoulder for that.
On the other hand, you still spent the majority of swimming class with Annie. She was a strong swimmer, better at grasping the right angle of the arm at every stroke. Every kick had power, even at her young age. Meanwhile, you were still learning your arm strokes with the aid of the kickboard.
Despite her eagerness to learn how to swim, she was also the first one to leave the pool during snack time. Under the awning that overshadowed the benches near the pool, she would open her bag with pastries inside. Out of curiosity, you had asked for a bite— your snacks being some cut fruits, and hers smelled better. Warmer.
“You’re not allergic to dairy, are you?” She retracted her hand that held the long bread quickly, worry etched in her face. You shook your head, more eager to taste the pastry than deal with the possible effects of the food to your stomach. It was soft and the crunch of sugar paired with the melted cheese inside had you humming in delight once you bit into it. It was a messy sight, one that drew a laugh from Annie.
“You should wipe that away before we go back to swimming.”
“I can just wash my face there.” You replied, a joking lilt to your tone.
“Noooo—! We have showers near the pool for that!” Her eyebrows scrunched together, a disapproving pout forming.
“Okay, okay!” You laughed, bounding off with her towards the showering area to wash off any excess bits of sugar on your hands and faces. It was simple. Yet, so memorable for the younger you.
Ending the day was a doleful experience. It meant having to say goodbye to the friends you’ve made, as few as they were. Two was enough, in your opinion, as their presence slowly became a constant in your life. Perhaps, summer could be spent with more memories than you thought. The swimming lessons were just a conduit to meeting people who would leave a bigger impact on your life.

my *very extensive* thoughts (and criticisms) on the how to train your dragon remake
warning: SPOILERS AHEAD!
First: I liked the main actor. I think he was really good and did really well embodying the hiccup from the original. I also liked their choice to have stoick be the same actor; it would’ve been difficult to replace him
Second: I thought the story changes were kinda bad. As much as I loved the new diversity, the excuse they made for it wasn’t very good imo. The idea that the village, rather than being a tribe of warriors that refused to leave due to “stubbornness issues”, was a collection of warriors from various tribes there for the sole purpose of finding and destroying the dragons nest didn’t fit the story/vibe from the first movie.
Third: as much as I liked the slight expansion on snotlouts character, I also thought it was a bit forced. In the original, we see his characters backstory a bit in the httyd tv series, because it simply isn’t relevant to the movies as much.
fourth: they deleted a scene I felt was very important and meaningful for the story and hiccups development. In the original, there’s a scene where hiccup is sitting with toothless, roasting a fish while toothless eats fish from his pile. Some little dragons come and try to steal toothless’ fish and he shoots a bit of fire into one’s mouth, causing it to squeak and fall on its face and hiccup to come to the realization that they’re “not so fireproof on the inside”, which ends up being incredibly important to the movies climax where he utilizes this knowledge to defeat the red death, burning it from the inside out. It also shows toothless’ true power and hiccup’s ability to train dragons and also shows the true nature of their bond to each other. I’m really sad that it got cut out.
Fifth: the animation style. Honestly I hated it. The original was so unique and beautiful and the new animation tried to make the dragons more “realistic” which in my opinion caused them to look weirder and have less personality. It reminded me too much of the animation in the Minecraft movie.
sixth: adding on to the lessened personality of the dragons, I thought they really got rid of the “cute” and also the animalistic aspects of the dragons. Toothless in particular bothered me, because in the original movie he’s very catlike both in looks and in nature: his ear flaps perk up when he hears danger, he initially fears humans, he purrs and coos like a cat, tilts his head like a cat. He also obviously has some doglike traits, but in the live action they got rid of pretty much all of the catlike traits. I also thought his eyes were no good in the new one. In the original, his eyes are the biggest indicators for his mood—they really are “the windows to the soul.” His pupils become big and square when he’s friendly or curious, they become thin slits when he’s scared or angry, and his expressions are overall incredibly detailed and really amazingly capture and portray his emotions.
Seventh: the rest of the students’ opinion and action towards hiccup. In the original, all of them other than Astrid are awed and impressed by him. Gobber even mentions that he “can barely walk through the village without being swarmed by his new fans”, which matches up with what we are shown in the original. However, in the remake, they’re all skeptical and wary of his new powers. Despite this, gobber still makes the same comment, which doesn’t make any sense. The evolution of their relationships with hiccup is horribly confusing and scattered.
Eighth: adding onto this, I want to talk about Astrid and her relationship with hiccup. The reason she’s so special in the original is that she’s the only one who doubts him, who wants to know what’s going on, who doesn’t hesitate to threaten him to get answers. Her change in opinion is the turning point of the film. In the remake, it in no way feels as significant or valuable overall. Her character was stripped of its complexities and turned more into a love interest than an actual warrior.
Ninth, and this is probably my biggest criticism of the film: the humor. The original has been one of my favorite movies for years because it does such an excellent job of blending deep, emotional, beautiful moments with lighthearted, funny moments. The new film erased the majority of the comedic moments! there was no “I ordered an extra large boy with beefy arms, extra guts and glory on the side” or “I am hurt i am hurt I am very much hurt” or any of the countless other funny moments in the original. It made me so, so sad.
To conclude, I have so much I want to say about this movie. It was, in my opinion, a badly executed remake and seemed mainly to exist for the purpose of making money. As closely as it followed the original, the heart of the original three movies was simply not there. I don’t know how to explain it, it just wasn’t able to capture the magic.
