A few years ago I wrote a paper on some of the problems with american sex education and the benefits of comprehensive sex education. Everyone should have access to a complete and accurate education of their body and all of the options available to them when it comes to their body. However an unfortunate amount of people do not. Too many schools offer only abstinence based sex education, in which abstinence is the only form of pregnancy/STI prevention students are told about. And on top of that as these graphs show not all of the sex education programs are required to be accurate, complete, or unbiased. There are students who are being misled when it comes to their own body and choices, and that is a real and definite problem.

Of course those graphs do not tell the whole story, even in states where a complete and unbiased education is not required by law many schools offer it, but with the caveat that parents can prevent their children from participating. And at the same time even in states where schools are required by law to provide all the information many gloss over important information like basic anatomy and other forms of contraception.

This means that there are hundreds of thousands of students who are not being given a proper education. They are being denied information, given misleading facts, and altogether being misinformed.

1. i like the way i think, most of the time...very detail-oriented so thats kinda cool

2. weird but, i like my hands? i dont know why, i just have really long fingers which are good for piano and origami and intricate stuff
