Tommy stares. "What?"

"Bullshit. Last time you were in the hospital, you didn’t even let me tell your friends about it."

"It wasn’t anything serious!"

"You were in the hospital, Tommy, that makes it serious! If you want people to be there during the important moments, you-- you have to actually tell them when the important moments are, you idiot!"

"Don’t call me an idiot--"

"Why not? You’re acting like one. You-- you act like you’re just-- so hard to love, but you’re not! Everyone thinks you’re cool, and-- and everyone likes being around you, and you know who you are and no one thinks you’re--" he swallows, "-- you’re too much, but you don’t let anyone in and then you complain that-- that no one knows you. How is anyone supposed to know you if you don’t let them? How was I supposed to?"

WIP Acrostic Tag

Thank you for the tag @winterandwords! I did some cafe writing today, which was lovely, and left me in a place where I'm excited to pick up where I left off as soon as I have more time -- the best feeling :D My word today is ALONE, and I'll look through what I wrote today, which is from a Peter Pan inspired idea...

N. New stares were sent Gwendolyn's way, slightly appraising, slightly surprised. “And is the baby on friendly terms with [the prisoners]?” Hook asked.

E. “Embarrassing, dangerous, or just plain irritating, it’s happened,” he snapped. “What are we going to do about it, sit here and quarrel? What kind of pirates are you?”

Yesterday my brain threw up this idea for a possible bottle episode and then at last minute dropped the random thought of it being a wip I should write. Then you all shamelessly encouraged me...sigh. Notes were made, words were written, and a new wip was born. So I give to you, my doppelganger fic.

Doppelgänger. A German word that literally means double-walker. A phenomenon often regaled in science fiction or supernatural tales. Seen as otherworldly beings that represent bad luck or outright evil. Because each person that comes into the world is supposed to be unique in their own way physically (outside of identical twins).  The face you see in the mirror is yours and yours only, so seeing it on another, well it must mean something? Right? It’s a contemplation that a group of firefighters from the 118 face just after the annular California solar eclipse, a time when strange phenomena truly occur. October 14th, 2023, the day after the solar eclipse and the beginning of a truly unique 48-hour shift. The team hears about the shift from the 13th from the previous crew. How the solar eclipse brought out the conspiracist, doom sayers, and extra wackos. Chimney thanks his lucky stars that he was not stuck on that shift and can’t help but chuckle when Buck goes on a tangent about the ‘effects’ of the eclipse sun. His chuckle deepens when he spots Eddie rolling his eyes behind his best friend’s back, keeping his opinions and disbelief to himself, for now. “You know, there’s a theory that the eclipse is actually a portal to another dimension or world.” Buck states as he pulls on a standard LAFD shirt, finally covering his bare chest. Chimney clocks the mild disappointment that flashes across Eddie’s face and Chimney internally gags. Next to him, Ravi snorts and shakes his head, “They are so blind and stupid.” He mutters under his breath and Chim gives a slight nod of agreement. Too bad the eclipse didn’t use its supernatural prowess to finally end the sexually charged and love sickening dance that has been going on between those two firefighters for way too long. Eddie’s disappointment last only seconds and by the time Buck turns around, a cheeky smile has replaced the frown, “A portal huh? Does it take anyone then? Or just dump another Mothman into the hills?”

LOOK WHAT YA'LL MADE ME DO! I have so many other wips, including NFL Buck and 4+1 Cockblock that I am trying to get done, but nooooo my random thought is now being shamelessly encouraged. Happy?!?!?! (Seriously, actually giddy about this! Its a fun fic with some serious undertones.) Forshame!

Obedience

I’d just got done reading a Bunch of Drizzt novels, and wanted to write something kinky with wizards at Sorcere, but i was too much of a coward to straight up write Gromph/Pharaun smut, so I made some OCs. then I decided I didn’t want to set it at Sorcere after all, and put it in my homebrew city, and THEN the dumbass OCs i’d made for my porn decided to catch feelings about each other. Obedience really is the ‘this was supposed to be a oneshot’ series that’s now nearly 200k of posted words and counting

Valloroth

A theme with me is that the Drizzt brainrot was fertile soil; a bit before I started on Obedience, I was toying around with some Drizzt fic, and decided I liked the concept too much for a fanfic, and wanted some OCs for it. That idea then spiralled into an entire trilogy that I have to finish before I get to writing that idea, which is what I get for thinking that original fiction would be faster than doing the research to write the fanfiction Basically the impetus of Valloroth was ‘what if i take some of my favourite Drizzt characters, put them in witness protection, and make them extra gay? what then?’ and now here we are.

Obsession

this one is simply @lawful-evil-novelist’s fault. we were bouncing War of the Spider Queen OCs and general shenanigans around, and Vizaeth bit me like the horrid little gremlin he is, and i have not known peace since. i made the series to put Vizaeth in a blender, and i think readers will attest: the boy had been thoroughly Blended.

i’ve talked about it before, but claws was originally just the modern AU of Obsession and it got wildly out of hand and now every time I see a black BMW im like ‘Hi Rainier~~’ and there's a stack of research notes on spiders in my writing binder.

the ONLY wip on here that didn’t spawn from Drizzt brainrot!! yay me!! this one was literally just me musing that I wanted to write some sicknasty femslash, and coming up with a few character concepts and scene ideas while I was running. since then i’ve been worldbuilding way too much for this pornography, and it’s extremely fun

Tell us what's on the Title Page of By the Book 😁

Title Page is the first chapter of By the Book. It takes place in the "Renewal universe," actually! In Title Page, Zelda discovers Link reading a little pink book that he hastily shoves under himself when she spots him. Here's a snippet!

He gives her a dark look (caught!) that has her smiling apologetically for a moment. Then, it's all movement: she lunges toward his chair and shimmies to try and get the book. She does it fast enough that he doesn’t get much of a chance to fight. "Aha!" She wrenches it out from underneath him. He is very, very red. Curious, she investigates the panels, searching for the title. The book is pink, emblazoned with a title with white text. Vai and You: It Takes Two! Raising an eyebrow, she flips through the pages. He groans and stuffs a pillow over his face, a very uncharacteristic gesture for him. As she expects, it's an informational novel: understanding anatomy, menstrual cycles, common ailments, and how to please a partner with her particular anatomy. The sections were the same as the matching companion novel she had hidden within her desk, a gift from Ashai the Teacher.

Basically, the series is all about these two dorks figuring things out. It's my first time writing adult content so don't expect anything from it for a while

Basically, I already like to write Link as a massive sook when it comes to the cold, so I figured that’d be something that would be fairly easy for me to expand upon for a little prompt fill. He’s very fortunate that his girlfriend has Literal Light Powers and thus is very easy to leech warmth off of lol
