Are the princesses’ eyes visible in her armor? I always assumed her eyes were always shut because of the art, but the latest chapter is making me rethink… (princess can open her eyes, real?!?! /silly)

Hmmm this is a good question.

In the design I have for her, her lashes definitely take up a lot of her 'eye' space, but she can definitely see through them.

The easy way to answer this question without spoiling anything is that since we're reading from Eclipse's perspective, we only pay attention to the things he's specifically paying attention to. He's got a scholarly-type mind, so it's not in his personality to focus on such intricacies (yet).

But if you want to draw her with her eyes open, go for it. I'm still deciding myself if it's a visual element I want to include in her design.

So as I was rewatching episode five, I had a Thought, specifically about the prophecy. This post is not spoiler free show only people look away

Now I’ve had this prophecy memorized for years now, but I honestly never thought that hard about it?? when Percy goes through the lines at the end of tlt I just kinda accepted his interpretation of events and moved on HOWEVER. Ares said something this episode that gave me an ah ha moment and I need to write it out to see if it really is something

So. The last line of the prophecy “and you shall fail to save what matters most in the end.” Percy looks at this line as him not being able to save Sally from Hades, but it ends up ok bc Hades just kinda. let’s her go home. Looking back on it now, this doesn’t really read as a failure to me. I feel like, if the quest hadn’t succeeded, Hades may have kept Sally hostage (maybe to use her against Poseidon, maybe to punish Percy for the whole helm of darkness thing idk). But Percy succeeds, so Sally goes home

But then in this episode, the trio say the oracle told them they’ll find the bolt and prevent the war, and Ares fires back with “is that want she said, or is that what Chiron said she meant?” he’s so sure wars gonna happen anyway, bolt or no

The Thought i had about this was maybe THATS what the oracle meant with that last line. “what matters most” isn’t referring to Sally, it refers to the (admittedly tentative) peace in olympus. Percy doesn’t fail to save his mom; he fails to stop the coming war

1: What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)

had to sit and PONDER this one and I honestly think its 'a matter of the heart' for a few reasons

that fic has all my writing strengths in it- heavy on the hurt/comfort, heart to hearts, character exploration, some romance, and some humour. its also a proper story- it has a beginning, middle, and an end- so it showcases my story-writing ability rather than just my scene-writing ability. its also fairly long, at 16k, so it gives you a lot of space and time to work with and get a feel for my writing style

im currently working on a multichapter Garashir fic! it was gonna be 4 chapters, its now gonna be 5, and im working on chapter 4 atm. the basic premise of this fic is "what if these two were stuck in a The Ascent type situation" and im having the time of my life writing it

id love to share a snippet of it! here ya go, in which being trapped and injured on an inhospitable planet won't stop these two from bitching about each other's literature-

“Ah, yes, imagination and creativity,” Garak says, and Julian can hear him rolling his eyes, “Qualities that are highly regarded in your Human culture, but not so much in Cardassian.”  “And yet you’re a tailor.” Julian grumps.  “Yes, I’m a tailor,” Garak replies, “In fact, I would say my work as a tailor allowed me to actually appreciate one aspect of that dreary novel. The tailoring skills of Doctor Frankenstein himself.”  That brings Julian up short. “His tailoring skills?” He asks. Garak throws him a look back over his shoulder, “The monster was stitched together, was he not?” He asks in turn, “Fine tailoring indeed, considering he had to hold together and also be entirely mobile. I’d rather like to learn which stitches Doctor Frankenstein used on his creation. It could be helpful in my business.” He muses, looking back at the path ahead as he picks over another cluster of stones. Julian glowers at him. “You’re impossible,” He mutters, resting his chin on his arm, “God, no wonder Cardassian literature is so dreadfully boring.” He gripes.

Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

There’s a train that goes through Hell.

Its journey starts in Wrath, and it departs already full of souls. It took Charles far too many years to realize that there were separate, more spacious wagons that demons could board. Not that he could understand why anyone, hellborn or not, would want to get into the damned thing. He certainly hadn’t.

Actually, Charles couldn’t recall ever boarding the train. As far as he could tell, he just appeared there one day, and had spent the next tortuous decades trying to get out. It was part of the torture. Getting out was entirely possible. More than that, it was necessary.

The train had no regular schedule that he could discern (not at first, though he had always been good at finding patterns, and was eventually able to crack it) but it would make quite a few stops before finally returning to the Wrath ring. Souls inside the train were already angry and far too close to each other (close, so close not even air could squeeze in) but when they got really violent was when the train made a stop.

Getting out didn’t mean you were free, no matter where you managed it, be it Sloth or Gluttony, Pride or Lust. No, as soon as the train finished its journey, you would appear back inside, in Wrath where you belonged, suffocating once again, getting ready to claw your way out for the millionth time.

Because if you didn’t get out, The Conductor would get you.

If he thought about it calmly, Charles could probably say that he got out of the train more times than not. Still, being caught by The Conductor once was bad enough, as there was no coal in Hell, and something had to serve as combustible. Souls could not burn to death, and the whole journey always felt longer than eternity when he was caught. Once it was over, he would be inside again, and fight with more desperation than before, not caring who stayed inside so long as it wasn’t him.

He couldn’t understand why anyone, hellborn or not, would want to get into the damned thing. He certainly hadn’t. But as the souls pushed and bit and clawed and punched their way out, Edwin boarded the train. And that wasn’t even the most groundbreaking revelation Charles had that day.

For everyone enjoying Cloudward, Ho! who wants more more swashbuckling anticapitalist skyship content, I'm begging you to check out Campaign: Skyjacks. It's a long-form AP podcast about Sky Pirates. Not only is the concept sexy as fuck, it also has some of the juiciest player/character chemistry I've ever seen & intensely collaborative worldbuilding. The world is woven of folklore and one-off bits that have somehow wound up immortal.

The story opens with the PCs trying to Weekend-at-Bernie's their captain's corpse through a ship heist using illegal necromancy. It's so instantly funny & charming and I implore you to give it a listen!

outer wilds is 40% off on steam - if you've not played it yet, i really really recommend it! to not spoil much - it's a super rewarding, immersive game about discovery, so, the less you know going in, the better! i played it this summer totally blind and i'm still thinking about it. a lot.

it won't be for everyone (no game is), but it's really wonderful if it clicks with you! so i urge you to at least give it a shot. the last time i loved a game so much i became a walking ad for it was for hollow knight - presumably a whole lot of my followers have played & love that game, so i just wanted to say : i consider outer wilds to be just as amazing of a game! i've even been purposefully avoiding reblogging spoilery fanart as to not rob any of you of the blind experience, just in case! that's how much i love it!!!

Of all the themes in Mouthwashing, I think the themes of punishment and virtue are the most subtle.

It’s so odd because it’s a subversion where all the characters are punished for their virtues more than their flaws except Jimmy. Curly sees the best and people and tries to do right by all parties whether deserving or not. He is then forced to see everyone fall to their worst states while he can’t do anything. Daisuke is optimistic and hopeful, playful to a fault and a big morale. He dies in agony the one time he is forced to act in a serious event. Anya is kind and capable, knowledgeable in her field. Yet, she is treated like a dunce and does being treated like a dead weight.

The only characters who aren’t punished per se are those without direct virtues. Swansea is ornery and rude the moment we meet him, Jimmy is self explanatory. Yet, Swansea is still punished with Daisuke’s death, while Jimmy escapes in a way. Not having to face the final aftermath or even acknowledging how he could never really fix it. He suffers and is tormented, but he doesn’t really care because in his mind he didn’t fail in his head of proving something to Curly.

This is rambling y really but it really is the theme of no good deed but to the extreme. Good people punished for their attempts at virtue while the bad person victimizes themself over their suffering.
