“…to me” is one of the most powerful disclaimers we have on here… is this character analysis accurate? debatable. but it’s real… to me.

“Just one more thing” costs more than people think—especially for creatives. This post unpacks the hidden labor of overgiving, why boundaries matter, and how saying no protects your energy and your work. #FreelanceLife #DigitalRespectWeek #CreativeBurnout

I should have posted this a few days ago, but I'm 75% of the way through the school year, and I'm just about wrung out.
This is not about how to be creative. This is strategy for trying to deal with the shifting ground of trying to work in the creative industries, something that has felt out of reach, but may just be falling into grasping distance.

I don't think many people realize how much they've been turned into a bunch of casually cynical jerks.
Someone may come to their parents and say "I want to write a book" and their parents will say "it's really hard to get published".
Someone might confide in their sibling and say "I want to sell my art on "x" platform" and that sibling will say "do you know how many people you'd be competing with? Do you know how many shops are even on that platform?"
I know a kid who once told his best friend "I think I wanna start a dnd podcast" and the friend was like "do you know what the word "oversaturation" means?"
Personally, I don't know why any of that matters? And even if it did, perhaps your response should be "Do it! Do it and see where it goes!"

the thing about "i could do that" is that what people mean is that they can copy the finished product because the work of coming up with something and making it has already been done for them. every little creative decision has already been made and put into creating something, so "doing the same thing" is only doing the work of physically making something. but art doesn't just appear out of thin air. every little decision someone makes is part of the creative process. if you "can just do that" you would be doing it instead of just saying it. because the most essential part of making a piece of art is actually making it. you have to come up with it, decide to make it, and make it, for it to even exist. you can look at someone's works and think that on a technical level you can Do The Same Thing but that's not really true. because the work of unique creative choices for a particular piece you're looking at has already been done. some pieces are hard to make because they're very complex on a technical level, but every single piece that's created requires the essential work of coming up with it, making choices that are unique to you as an artist, and actually making the piece

really i think step one of really digging your teeth and nails into a work of fiction is to surgically excise the buzzwords "media" and "consuming media" and possibly even "entertainment" from your brain and instead try grafting in the terms "fiction" and "engaging with art". step two is to have fun and be yourself!

You get a pet tentacle as a "gag gift" for your birthday. You have no idea why your friends thought the little mass with a tentacle would make you laugh, but it didn't. Of course though, you don't want to be mean to it, so you take it home, trying to make it comfortable. You don't understand that by taking it home, now it thinks you've chosen it as your mate.
Once you're asleep, it expands, filling your bedroom with all of its tentacles. The first one to reach you has a plant like appendage, which spritzes you with an aphrodisiac that will also help you properly incubate its eggs. You groan, wiping the droplets from your face. There's already a hot pulsing between your legs. Without thinking much about it, still being half asleep, you kick off your blanket, eager fingers rolling your clit and stuffing into your hole.
Your tentacle pet stops to watch you, excitement building within it. Its mate is putting on a show for it! You must really want it! After a few moments, it can't stand it anymore. Two more tentacles reach for you, attaching to your nipples. That's when you start to realize what's going on, but you're so desperate now for release and to be stuffed you're almost crying.
Its suckers suck and pull on your nipples, making you moan and whimper. More tentacles wrap around your arms, pulling your hands away from your dripping hole. You let out a tiny whine of protest. The tentacles spread your cunt wide, looking at you clench around nothing, your wetness soaking your bed. Its breeding tentacles pulsing already.
You start to whine and beg for it to fuck you, wiggling your hips as more tentacles restrain you, making sure you're secure. Finally, one starts sucking on your clit, making you cum almost instantly. Despite your finish, your cunt is still eager to be stuffed and filled.
"Please, please," you beg it, lifting your hips up slightly.
Your pet is more than happy to comply, stuffing a thick tentacle into your eager hole. A moan escapes from your lips, your eyes half lidded from pleasure. It thrusts in and out of you, slowly depositing eggs directly into your womb. It doesn't even matter to you as you feel the weight in your body. You just need the tentacles to keep pleasuring and fucking you.

The Baby Is Fine
For sale baby shoes never worn. Oh he's not dead or anything he's just massive and they don't fit
For sale baby shoes never worn. They're Gucci, my sister got them for me and I'm not putting $600 shoes on a newborn Why the hell would anyone buy these? She's an idiot.
For sale baby shoes never worn. At least I don't think so. I found them in the eggs at the grocery store and they look pretty clean $20 obo
For sale baby shoes never worn. She doesn't have any feet but it's hardly slowing her down, honestly. I guess you can't miss what you never had.
For sale baby shoes never worn. Bought them and forgot about them for like six months, never even took them out of the box and now they're way too small. My brain is fried.
For sale baby shoes never worn. Fair warning though, they've got fucking minions on them.
For sale They were a gift from my great aunt and I don't want anything from that wretched harpy.
baby shoes I thought I could put them on my dog so he doesn't slip all over the kitchen floor but yeah it didn't work
never worn. I don't know. They're just ugly. Do I need a reason?

"most allegedly haunted houses turn out to have gas leaks!"
no they don't. you are merely skimming the surface of mundane shit that can be wrong with old houses with your one puny little explanation that only fits a very small number of cases. try harder
