Lol not to brag but I was meeting with the assistant of the grad program I want to apply for and she pulled up my transcript and yelled "HOLY SHIT!"
#we were both so professional up until that point asdfghfds#which was silly of us because we're chummy anyway#one of the things i am MOST proud of in my life is my time in school#getting all A's and A+'s (except for ONE B+ in my first year aaaaasdfgdsfghfgd) / getting scholarships and bursaries -#- and then getting a job at the school in my field...... i'm so fucking proud of myself#and i'm so glad i'm not dead ofc and that i pulled myself out of the pit i was in for so long#shit was fucking HARD for so many years but it's what i'm passionate about so.#the grad program assistant told me she had never seen that many A+s in her entire career and now i need to be humbled STAT.#i'm actually very humble and shy irl and i just never talk about my grades or accomplishments because why would i do that lol#never kill yourself you might learn how to self-motivate and then become an example of a successful student#< i work with students to be clear so i'm always encouraged to ''share my success story''#i don't think my parents actually realize how much work i put in and how big of a deal all of this is#but you know what? fuck them then :]#i can say that lmao i financed the vast majority of my studies on my own#there's a certain genre of queer people who had parents who never said they were proud of them and rarely hugged them -#- who go on to work their asses off even and esp in a field that's deemed useless (hi i'm liberal arts) -#- and their parents still have no interest in what they do or how hard they worked because now they feel threatened by their smart kid#i swear this is a thing. i've talked to so many people#so basically if you don't hug your kids and say you're proud of them they will grow up to be smart and hardworking SDFGHFDS#wrong message i'm sending

joe'marr bengals reunion — a (somewhat) comprehensive timeline

1 — “have you spoken to the cincinnati bengals and what would it mean to reunite with joe burrow there?” — “i have talked to the bengals. i don’t know how many times i’ve talked to them though. but, me and joe, you know, i wouldn’t mind going back with joe. if we go back together we’re trying to do nothing but get back our chemistry and have some more fun.”
2 — “i'm really excited for this draft. i don't really know what's coming but, you know, if me and joe could get back to it... i’d love to have some fun with him again.”
3 — “i assume you'd be okay with a potential reunion in cincinnati if that were to happen?" — "yeah, i wouldn’t mind.”
4 — “me and joe talked about [a reunion] maybe like three, four times actually. we talked about it a good bit of times. he texted me this morning, just letting me know: ‘get your bags packed’, so i guess that meant that was gonna be the pick. i don’t know if that was a hint or what. so, he sent me that little text this morning, i was like ‘okay… i'm ready, bro’.”
5 — “what was your reaction like when he was lowkey recruiting you?” — “i actually was believing him sometimes, sometimes i was like ‘stop playing with me’ and sometimes i was just like ‘okay bro, i gotcha, i'm ready now’ so. i believed him this morning when he told me, you know, pack my bags. so that's when i finally was like: ‘yeah he might really be calling this’ so that's when i took his word.”
6 – “jimmy burrow, did joe tell you—he’s always been kind of coy about what he said to the bengals—did joe tell you that he wanted the bengals to select ja’marr?” — “yes, i think we figured that… and eventually… yes, he pretty much told us that he wanted ja’marr.”
7 — “it was like a week before the draft, ja'marr said: ‘dad, joe texted me.’ […] he didn't say what he said, you know. but he said: ‘joe just texted me’, [...] so he had talked to joe like... or texted with joe once or twice that week. and then he told me, he said: ‘dad, if i get with joe, we're gonna kill’ [...] so he was all excited about getting with joe.”
8 — “what was the first thing joe texted you when you got drafted by the bengals?” — “make sure your bag's packed and ready. yeah, that was what he told me.”
9 — “the cincinnati bengals are on the clock now. earlier that morning, i had got a text from joe. he said: hope your bags are packed. i know it's me, at the moment, that's what i'm saying to myself. i can't wait to be a part of it.”
10 — articles: 1, 2, 3, 4
#wasn’t gonna post this#but then one of my friends asked me about the whole draft-texting-reunion-saga#so i tried to compile a timeline#added it to the joe’marr google doc that i made for my friends (who WILL be turned into nfl fans even if it's against their will)#and then i figured i might as well edit it together and upload it cause i do kind of wanna have this on here#anyway i guess the timeline on this is#some very limited communication between them during the season#as evidenced by that one pre-draft interview with joe in which he was like ‘yeah we still talk now and again’#then the frequency increases a little bit as they're starting to realise how well-positioned the bengals are gonna be in the upcoming draft#joe is reportedly being kept ‘in the loop’ re: the drafting/scouting process#starts seeing a real possibility of playing with ja’marr again#and begins cautiously mentioning the idea of a reunion around ja’marr#who is clearly a lot more hesitant unsure guarded etc etc regarding the whole thing#doesn’t know if joe is being serious maybe doesn’t wanna get his hopes up and risk being disappointed#(‘sometimes i was like stop playing with me’ and: ‘i didn’t believe it but then he provec me wrong’)#and then ofc the whole thing culminates in the text joe sends him#sidenote: i love ja’marr’s somewhat inconsistent narrative here#(i'm saying this as if he doesn't ALWAYS have theee most unrealiable narration lol)#like........ was it the evening before….. or the morning of.…..#and what exactly was the wording of that message#because he keeps alternating between ‘we're coming to get you’ and ‘make sure your bags are packed’#truly one of my favourite aspects about this ship is how much detective work you gotta put into#figuring out what the hell is going on between these two#which is made considerably more difficult by joe never commenting on these Highly Important Topics#and ja'marr who will truly just. say anything.#ANYWAY enough rambling pleeaaase let me know if i forgot anything or if you guys have extra content/opinions/interviews re: this entire saga#ja'marr chase#joe burrow#joe'marr#joemarr

you are so whimsical i qant to check out this mdzs (..??) because of your whimsical nature thank you sorry im very high and your art moved me emotionally
This is simultaneously the sweetest and funniest thing someone has sent me, thank you.
#ask#non-mdzs#I have a hunch you will not recall sending this to me but I wish to immortalize it.#The progression of me going 'aw' to 'barking with laughter' at the last bit of this message was a delight.#Oh man what to say about getting into MDZS...#I admit I'm probably low on the list of people who should be recommending it.#I enjoy it! But there are also a ton of different adaptations that each do a slightly different thing with the story and characters.#Personally I loved The Untamed (Netflix live action) for how campy the action was. It got emotional but really...It made me laugh.#And I love watching it with people because it also makes them laugh.#(The Untamed changes a lot of plot elements so it isn't looked upon very favourably by many fans. I love it as its own thing)#Don't get me wrong; it *is* a story with interesting things to say and I certainly have written tons of analysis on it.#But it's also a series I spent over a year making parody comics of. It comes from a place of love!#The audio drama is really good and I think it might be the best form of mdzs...however finding episodes is not easy.#The audio drama is also what I'm basing all these comics on!#There is a book (the primary source) An animated series and a comic to check out as well.#Someone probably has a better pitch and recommendation list than I do. I just make the funny comics.

It's funny to me when people insist that "ATLA was really feminist" as if there wasn't really only one feminist message which was the very generic "girls can fight too" spiel that every 2000s show had going on whenever they briefly tried to jump on the feminism bandwagon or whatever
#the main female characters who ended the show in relationships had all of their depth removed because of those relationships#I'm talking specifically about katara and mai but suki was by no means exempt from this either#also the only way female characters were ever shown to have an empowered role in society was in fighting#whereas male characters were political leaders strategists inventors ect#and its also worth mentioning that even though female characters could supposedly fight just as well as men#there were never any women in high ranking positions in the military and we were only shown any women in the military in breif cameos#and that was only in the fucking fire nation which sends entirely the wrong message#atla#avatar the last airbender#anti bryke#anti kataang#anti maiko#katara#mai#suki#toph#ty lee#ty lee is actually a really feminist character but I would say shes probably the outlier here#sexism#atla sexism#fandom sexism

I'm like this 🤏 close to switching my pride icon to the Netscape logo with a trans flag background. I'm so tired of seeing TERFs in my Activity Feed.
#i thought about doing that instead of the bi one for pride month#since this pride especially it's important to show support for trans peeps#but i don't wanna send the wrong message#and have people mistake ME for being trans#like#i don't wanna get other trans people's hopes up and then be like “haha sike; i'm cis”#so I chose not too#since it's not technically my flag to don#but still#i just get the urge to do it every once in a while#because i'm so tired of terrible people interacting with this blog#and then having to go to their blog and verify that they're a terrible person and not someone mis-wording something#or me misinterpreting their tone and then having to manually block their blog on my primary and this one#and just ugh#i hate it#but whatever#this is tumblr dot com#i'll survive#/ / /#rambles#pride#lgbt pride#lbgtq pride#trans#transgender#trans flag

how do u curate your playlists? they're so good (listening to the glen powell one rn lol)
dearest anon, please know you've made my entire summer with this ask <3333 (here's the playlist in question)
now while i recognise you probably weren't looking for a legitimate breakdown of the process here, you've inspired me to take a deep dive, and i'm prone to getting carried away (and yes, i read high fidelity recently and rewatched the film and the series. but i'm sure that has nothing to do with it). so here goes, under the cut:
Lizzy's Guide to the Delicate Art of Making a Playlist
#1 - What's the Point?
There has to be a theme or mood or connecting thread for the playlist. That being said, as long as it makes sense to you, you've pretty much got this covered.
What's the story? Is it based on a mood, an event, a time in your life, a person, a character, a genre, an era, etc. etc. There's plenty to choose from, so there's plenty of playlists to be made. Go crazy, get weird with it.
(In this example, the overarching theme is: Glen Powell Hot (Twisters Edn.) with a sub-theme, if you will: Country Music for Beginners.)
#2 - Song Selection
Once the theme is set, I gather a few tracks that spring to mind immediately. In this instance:
• Why'd You Come In Here Lookin' Like That - Dolly Parton
• Cowboy Take Me Away - The Chicks
• Country's Cool Again - Lainey Wilson
All of these are fairly self-explanatory if you have been caught up in the Twisters press tour at all recently. No further comment.
From here I flesh out the ~general vibelist~ with more tracks, some classics and some deep cuts. I'm cross-referencing my own musical knowledge, previous playlists, spotify mixes (god forgive me, the occasional algorithm picks), and other user's Powell playlists (topgun-heavy, but you certainly can't blame them).
#3 - Order Matters
There's got to be some sort of flow to the playlist front to back, unless your theme is audio whiplash, for example.
Now here I am a devout follower of the High Fidelity rules, which are as follows:
Track 1 - Open with a killer - sets the tone, gets people invested
(Here, Lady Gaga's You And I ~ it's a banger, and it's country enough to get away with. Can't bring out the banjo prematurely, we'll lose people)
Track 2 - Bring it up a notch - let them know we're just getting started
(Alannah Myles, Black Velvet ~ country-ing it up a notch but staying firmly in the mainstream, because again, we don't want to scare anyone)
Track 3 - Cool it down - now we're settling in
(Chris Stapleton ft. Dua Lipa - I Think I'm In Love With You ~ Dua keeps us firmly rooted in the crowd pleasers, and we can sneak in some Stapleton)
N.B. There is a rule here that I don't abide by, the "only one track per artist" - there's three dolly tracks in this lineup alone and i stand by all of them. Provided you're not adding an entire album or two, I think you can get away with it.
Anyway, this three-track run fires us into a classic (Islands In The Stream) which melts into Tyler Childers and suddenly we're knee deep in Kentucky and you didn't even know it.
The trick is to not overthink it, which is always easier said than done. Ordering only has to make sense to you from start to finish. This journey's gotta go somewhere - throw in a few peaks and troughs, and the songs are just connecting the dots along the way.
#4 - As Does Shuffle-ability
Now, having said all that, I feel like this is a safe space to admit I am a chronic shuffler, so a degree of shuffle-ability is required.
All this means is that your underlying theme is evident throughout. Any wildcards are going to make sense wherever they pop up.
With this one, the thread of country through all of these tracks is what ties the theme together (saving a horse). There are some classics (Faith Hill, Willie Nelson), soul-heavy tracks (Secret Sisters, Leon Bridges), and and few more pop-adjacent (Haim, Ashe) but they've all got that twang - so it's shuffle proof.
#5 - Points for Presentation
A good cover, title and description can offset a multitude of sins. Don't underestimate the power of presentation.
Duration comes into play here also, where anything shorter than half an hour feels like it has nowhere to go, but over three hours feels insurmountable. Unless you're going for a compilation, year in your life playlist, or some background low-fi stuff, keep it tight.
And there you have it folks, my (lengthy) guide to playlist curation. Final note, don't love it and leave it. If you come across something new, jostle things around to get it in. Similarly, if something doesn't fit anymore, toss it. The beauty of the modern mixtape is you can edit it as little or as often as you like.
If you made it this far, I'm personally sending you a little kiss on the forehead. And to the anon who inspired this article of a response, I can only apologise. MWAH
#i might have allowed myself to get a little carried away there#forgive me#if you read all of this and you're thinking holy shit this process is absolutely completely cuckoo bananas. well you're certainly not wrong#also sidebar: rob has to be an aquarius from the music snobbery to the fear of commitment to the self sabotage to the general assholery#right?#spotify#playlist#spotify playlist#high fidelity#high fidelity series#rob brooks#rob gordon#glen powell#playlist curation#mixtape#ask#anon#ANON MY DARLING I'M SENDING YOU ALL THE LOVE IN MY HEART#yes i will marry you i'm receiving your coded message i'm reading between the lines#💚💚💚#oh and apologies for the delay but i'm clearly unstable

I occasionally wish to reach out to old friends/acquaintances I haven't spoken to since high school/some other even earlier time in my life, but I have SOOO little social energy even for required tasks (like making dr phone calls or etc), I never have any leftover for extra ones, and it would be very odd to message someone I haven't spoken to in like 5 years out of the blue but then take 4 entire months to respond back lol.. My natural curiosity with nostalgia/collecting details of the past/etc. (literally if I were born a little earlier I would definitely do scrapbooking or something lol) is very strong, but, alas, not strong enough to beat out the Social Issues Demons apparently
#facebook always does that 'here's a post from this day 8 years ago' thing. and I see old comments interacting#with people and it's so like.. OOOOO~~ where are they now?? what's going on? how much have they changed as people?#how much are they the same? this is fascinating. i should contact them!!' but then it's like... take that to it's logical conclusion though#you would contact them and then IF they even responded it would take you 80 years to respond and then they would#think there was something wrong or that you were trying to be insulting or something. To contact anyone I need to include an 85 page#disclaimer of all of my social issues & mental illness things. 'If i take 3 weeks to reply I promise it has nothing to do with u' etc lol#THIS is why more people need to be into phone calls/voice calls/some form of audio real time communication/etc.#I think one of the main things that's hard about messaging through text for me is it's so unscheduled and open ended#(plus it takes forever if you're talking about anything in detail and gets very long very quickly)#because like you can send a message and then just get a reply whenever. and then you're expected to reply back whenever#so it's like you never know when the response will come or when a new obligation to reply can come up? so it's like this sudden thing with#no outline?? if that makes sense. whereas a phone call is very like 'hello let's schedule a call from 10am - 2pm on thursday'. And you know#EXACTLY when the interaction will start and EXACTLY when it will end and you can plan around it in your schedule easily.#I have the reverse thing of a lot of people (how people don't pick up phone calls/hate calls/only text)#I would literally talk on the phone with a stranger. I would have a discord voice chat with someone I barely know.#if someone I hardly even remember from elementary school asked to have a voice call with me out of nowhere I would do it.#but if a stranger MESSAGED me?? or someone I barely know sent me a TEXT or something?? I will never reply probably#It's just too vague and weird. and you can't read voice tone over text. and the interaction could last forever with no clear end#point and etc. etc. But a call is like. set. established. clear boundaries. you can read the flow of conversation better. rapport. etc. etc#I get that I guess people feel more anonymous or distanced over text?? but you can have fake phone numbers on the computer. or do like disc#rd calls. or zoom without a camera or etc. etc. Also the distance that's present in text is BAD distance because it just means that tone is#not conveyed properly and you will never truly get a sense of the person's conversational vibe or mannerisms or how well you really click.#ANYWAY ghgjh...... I'm so so so interested in concepts of like.. How did that one kid I used to talk to in elementary school#but then they moved away in 5th grade - how did they end up? what are they doing now?? etc. etc. Like despite the severe social anhedonia#and general lack of connection with others I'm just really fascinated in like.. idk. the human development of it all and like#the concept of how we're actually a million different people through the course of our lives ever evolving in different iterations and etc.#PLUS again. i love nostalgia. sometimes old peple you know might remember a shared memory or can tell you about something you forgot#or etc. like it's SUCH A COOL THING in CONCEPT but I am too socially inept generally speaking lol. which people I still talk to today are#familiar with my 'phone call once every few months' communication style. but strangers would just be like... wtf. And I don't blame them#Sure I literally cannot change the physical health + brain issues i have - but also I know enough to not put others through that lol

every time i consider interacting with an account i follow that is decently popular, i flash back to the like, what. 2 or 3 times i got a rude response that ruined my whole day and i just Don't
honestly, internet famous people don't owe me anything, this is more my own issue. i do want to say nice things to the bloggers i like though...
#mr. mcmuscles over on youtube was perhaps unfairly curt to me#but to be fair to him i'm sure he gets stupid questions a lot and i had been looking in the wrong place for a video i assumed wasn't there#(basically: “wow i'd love if you made this video you suggested!” and a curt response saying he already did)#i am such a sensitive baby. perfect cocktail of trauma that turns me into a wibbly whimpering mess if someone responds to#my genuine earnestness with any amount of aggression or exasperation#it's why i overthink so much of what i say to people#to the point that i write entire messages and then don't send them A Lot#polar opposite of my mother who makes jokes to cashiers that they've heard a million times that day alone#tox.txt

Wow, I thought it was gonna be the Ruby episode. It was not.
And wow, for a show that advocates "true love", this mini-plot sucks. Because dwarfs and fairies are just "supposed to do their jobs" and all that shite. Yeah, sacrifice your happiness to "bring joy to the world". Except if you're a main character type, then you can choose true love.
Not good, show. Not nice. You just wanted to justify why Grumpy is grumpy? And why you gotta hurt Nova like that? They both just want to be happy. There are LOTS of dwarves and fairies that are content with the status quo but you just HAD to break these two apart.
Also, are you telling me that after all this, Grumpy fell in love again and had that diamond fiasco which was why he got sent to jail (where he met Snow)? Seems like dwarves DO love. And seems like they (writers? Directors? Idk) forgot about that Grumpy backstory just a few eps ago.
Guess the show has pockets I didn't notice before.
#ouat#ouat rewatch#ouat s1e14#once upon a time#grumpy#dreamy#nova#weird brain stuff#am i being too dramatic and critical?#it just rubbed me the wrong way#like.they have a whole affair arc but god forbid a dwarf and a fairy fall in love#it just feels like it's sending the wrong message or am i the one reading it wrong#maybe this is why rumple hates fairies#or maybe i'm just not fairytale protagonist coded#or maybe it really doesn't make sense#and it doesn't have to#maybe.idk#halp

A running joke @holybatgirlz and I have from like 6 years ago is the misuse of Lord Huron's The Night We Met in romantic fandom playlists and good lord y'all, another plane has hit the towers.
#First seen in her house during a random episode of 9-1-1 or whatever and a running joke therebyafter#As your resident Lord Huron Lore Nerd:#The Night We Met is about the END OF A RELATIONSHIP and all the REGRETS THE SINGER HAS AT IT#It is only applicable for BREAKUPS#Ben Schneider has literally described the singer in the song viewing the relationship as NOT WORTH IT#For the love of god STOP USING IT IN YOUR ROMANCE PLAYLISTS THIS IS A SETA PSA#YOU ARE SENDING THE WRONG MESSAGE#I'm joking but also not. Please understand if I see TNWM in your fandom playlist I'm gonna assume the characters hate each other#Seta Speaks

Watching Yellowjackets and I'm realizing that a lot of things these women do is what would happen if I listened to my intrusive thoughts. Especially since I sometimes get intrusive thoughts related to superstition. And I just think. If I allowed myself to believe that somebody being chosen by nature to die was a Thing and was also related to then something good happening as a "reward"... that would be really bad. And I'm not sure if I like how this show portrays these kind of things. I'm not sure if it wants me to believe that this is real, that in this show's universe nature works like that. Or if it's trying to tell me that all of these people have serious mental health problems. And like it hints at it with Lottie going to therapy, taking medication to help with her hallucinations (and the medication working) and stuff. But even in the present, in a time that is a lot more aware of mental health and trauma it's still not really talked about except for Lottie kinda negatively talking about being in a psych ward. And they might all be unaware of this, of the fact that they are deeply traumatized and have a lot of underlying and untreated mental health issues. But the show doesn't even really convey that to the viewers. Heck, every time something big or spiritual happens to these people especially in the woods, they're on drugs. Lottie thinks Travis can connect to "it" but to do that Travis has to be on drugs. Like that is quite literally what drugs will do to you. Make you believe stuff that isn't real. And the show just. Doesn't really talk about it and I don't know how to feel about that
#like in the scene where taissa and van go after the man that picked up their queen of hearts card and they're debating wether or not to kill#him so that van's cancer goes away#watching that i cought myself thinking thinking 'oh no but what if it IS real? what if because they chose to leave him alone the cancer will#grow again?'#and like it wasn't a big thought#just like a little thought in the moment#but i know i can't listen to it that if i start believing thoughts like that then it's gonna be really bad#but like#in the show they believe that#i guess that's what i'm trying to say#a lot of things happening in this show have reasonable explanations#but instead of those explanations being shown as the reason all the characters do is believe that it is something spiritual#natalie in fact did not have to die#lottie saying that this is how it was supposed to happen is wrong and harmful#and sure sometimes there's pushback by other characters#but then there's characters that previously were reasonable and suddenly they Also believe it is something spiritual#i'm not sure how to feel about it#it's strange because this show is well made but it's also often very upsetting to watch#and not in a way of it's upsetting because upsetting things happen#but upsetting because of the way things are portrayed and talked about#it's hard to explain#lea's random thoughts#i have not finished season 3 yet#idk maybe they'll still make some type of big reveal about all of this#maybe they want it to be a mystery#but currently i feel like this show is trying to portray mental health issues as something good and wanted that allows a person to connect#with something more powerful on a deeper level and i feel like that's kind of a dangerous message to send#i'm glad i didn't watch this show like 3 years ago when my ocd was still pretty bad#cause especially for magical thinking ocd this show would probably be Not Fun#yellowjackets

Was in a zoom meeting and had my pronouns (they/them) listed. Got a private message from I'm guessing someone (let's use the name Harry, not real name) in early-mid 70s, asking what that meant. Briefly explained why I use them and what it means to me.
Harry replied 'okay.'
A few minutes later, Harry asked if that also included wearing clothes of the opposite gender. I replied that some people do, and some people don't, but I don't think of it as 'opposite gender,' as I don't really fit either binary. So I'm both and neither. That it didn't have to be a yes or no.
Harry replied 'okay.'
I continued working for another twenty minutes or so before Harry wrote back asking if anyone can be a they/them or not because the things I said resonated and felt true, or if there were requirements to meet.
I told Harry there were no real rules on this and if anyone wanted to, that was okay.
Harry said 'okay.'
Went back to writing. Put everything on mute, worked for a while, head down. When I came back, Harry had exited the group, and returned with they/them pronouns in their zoom name.
Harry, wherever you are (probably not on tumblr), I wish you all the best. May your journey continue.
#sending love to all the Harrys in the world who have not been able to be who they were for decades#love to all the queers who figure out things later in life#good luck harry#this was nice and made my day#i'm glad you messaged me Harry#if you think I'm not in tears over this tiny interaction you are wrong because i absolutely am#I think a lot about the elder queers who have lived their whole lives in the boxes someone assigned them and how horrible that would be#respect your elder queers#love to the elder queers

"I know why you want to return to our world, Meggie! You just miss your boyfriend! But we haven't seen everything of this beautiful world yet!" Mr Mortimer sir your wife was enslaved for working as a scribe disguised as a man. In this world women are punished for learning their fathers' craft and your thirteen years old daughter would be already married if she was born in this world. I know the books are very pretty but Mo your wife is pregnant. I don't think they have c-sections here :(
#liveshrimping#I've been thinking about like. hypothetically of course I'm not going to write that but I've been thinking about a kpop fangirl#writing her self-insert RPF and reading herself into it#becoming a cleaning lady or a make-up artist for her favourite group and getting involved in a fiery romance with her fave#and then seeing all sorts of Consequences. getting found out + her boy's reputation fucking down the stairs + she's a teenager and#aside from being a MUA/cleaning lady she doesn't have any other skills that could guarantee her a good living and because of the stress#she can't write anything to make the situation better... eventually she starts to wonder if it wouldn't be better to go back to her world#but 1. the time still passes. it's been months since she disappeared from her world. she doesn't want to deal with all that#but 2. she misses her family and friends and her nice and familiar life. but 3. if she goes back she will not be loved by her bias anymore#she will return to being someone he doesn't know. doesn't even know she exists. she can't afford fanmeetings so her best hope for#being noticed by him is to send many messages during his lives so that he at least sees her username in the rapidly moving live chat#AND SO ON. i have no idea how something like that would've even ended. she would have to essentially write all that happened out of#existence. 'and then X woke up and it was all just a dream. a dream that he was already forgetting but for some reason it left him with a#faint distaste for romantic relationships'#BUT SHE REMEMBERS WHAT HIS LIPS TASTED LIKE. SHE REMEMBERS HOW HAPPY SHE FELT IN HIS ARMS.#&c.‚ &c.#this stupid little thing changed not only her -- it gave her a nice phobia of romantic relationships because her first only and most intens#relationship pretty much ruined a guy's career and life -- but also her boyfriend in that other world probably. hell can she even look at#her albums and enjoy the music now that she's back? but this group was like 75% of her mental stability.#AND ALSO: now she feels like she must fix things somehow. apologize to X for ruining his life in this other world he doesn't know#so what if she writes about their albums breaking records of sales. so what if she writes about fashion designers and musicians becoming#obsessed with the group's members and wanting to collab with them -- it's just a little bit more of fame and money. they deserve that!#what can go wrong.

listen, I get that you hate Basil, and that's fine. But please, for the love of everything living, watch like, a Basil deep dive or something (I recommend @JJCGames analysis they did a great job) Because oh my gosh you are mischaracterizing him more than the Omori fans that infantalize him and it's actually insane. You can still hate Basil after watching an analysis video, that's perfectly fine, hate what you want to hate. But at least let your hate be accurate 😭 I still don't like Basil that much after watching the vid but at least I'm more on point with my critic.
hey hey!
so i answered one your newer asks which is wayyy more respectful than this one, and i'm just gonna say to clear the air about this one: I DON'T CARE.
you wanna know the beautiful thing about a game like omori and pretty much all fictional media in general? it's up to interpretation! people are going to interpret things in different ways based on their experiences. but the reasons why i hate him are valid. they are not "mischaracterization" just because you personally disagree with them. that's not how opinions work. it fucking sucks when people act super entitled, and pretend that i don't understand the source material just because my opinion is different from what's popular and widely accepted.
why would an analysis video help me? i've watched countless omori videos and all of them are just expressions of MORE opinions!! none of them can be regarded as "educational" because they are all OPINIONS, just like how my views on basil is an OPINION!! wow, imagine the concept of just respecting people's opinions instead of running to the askbox the second somebody disagrees with you.
"at least let your hate be accurate". first of all, it is. i'm not lying when i say my reasoning for hating him. i played the game. i know everything he did, and i personally don't forgive him. plus his fans constantly act obnoxious and annoying and stinky. so there. that's why i fucking hate basil. and i can hate him for any reasons i want to, accurate or not! it's a good thing that, wow, oh my gosh, my reasons ARE accurate and valid!
i know that my opinion is unpopular. i know that i'm gonna get hate. and i get tons of asks and comments and messages that are worse than this one all. the. time. because basil stans just cannot handle the idea that people have different opinions.
just because my opinion is different from yours doesn't mean it's wrong. basil fans need to get that through their heads.
#omori#omori basil#basil omori#finally addressing this ask from like a million years ago#and i get that this was phrased nicely but like#there's something under the surface of this message that irks me so bad#and it's just the general attitude of “you're wrong because i don't agree with you”.#like#that is just so fucking annoying.#and i can't stand it.#so am i being a little mean?#yeah!#but this is my blog i can be as mean as i want!#and besides#i'm not sending death threats or accusing someone of being stupid or illiterate or lacking empathy.#all things that basil stans have done to me#by the way.

U.S. Americans: Vote Locally. Do it.
There seems to be a common misconception that the presidential election is the most important one not just for the USA, but for the world - WRONG!
Let me be clear: You should vote in the Presidential election.
Historically, young people don't vote. Even though young voter turnout has increased drastically since Trump, local voting is still largely being determined by conservative older generations.
Importantly, you should be voting locally in part because this is the largest influence over who gets nominated in the Primary and how your opinion is vocalized on a national scale. Also:
voter restriction/suppression
climate change efforts/issues (such as pipelines getting built)
policing, law enforcement and mass incarceration
availability of affordable housing, public transport, disability relief
education - as in, whether or not PragerU gets taught in schools
If you are worried about "being selfish" for focusing smaller local issues instead of global ones (such as the current genocide), I understand. However, this is a more effective way to pressure the current President - local legislators have more voice than we do. This is also setting up a less racist, genocidal future for global politics because Presidential nominees are almost always picked from State level positions.
The Presidential election helps people to feel good/bad about an "immediate" measurable result from a single action. But the truth is that the Bidens of the US will keep being the only rival to "I want to be a dictator" Trumps if we don't start investing our votes from the ground up.
Here is a guide (mostly from this website https://tminstituteldf.org/local-elections/ ):
CITY GOVERNMENT
School Boards:
Have the power to set policy and budgets for local schools, such as whether or not you can protest without losing your job or getting expelled.
Sherrifs:
Generally speaking, Sherrifs are fucked up. It's too much for me to go into here. They have way too much unilateral power with no oversight at all.
youtube
Prosecutors:
The largest contributor to mass incarceration
They set the terms on whether someone is charged with a misdemeanor or felony and being convicted of a felony will strip your right to vote in many states - some permanently.
City Council:
City Council approve things like city budgets and implement criminal and civil laws and regulations
Also the voice of their City at a State and Federal level. Generally, these are some of the people you should be shouting at to bring your voice higher up the food chain.
This includes the Mayor who often decides where budgets go (like schools or cops), and they also determine the level of enforcement of local laws.
County Board of Supervisors (County Commissioners):
Represent county issues in front of state and federal legislative bodies. Counties are also responsible for registering voters and administrating elections. i.e., another group of people who have a stronger voice against the elected Democrat when it comes to larger issues.
Planning and Zoning Commission:
Determines how and where affordable housing is zoned in your area. Has a huge effect on housing segregation.
Comptroller:
The City's accountant and budget manager - this is the person who audits the City Council and makes sure they aren't basically stealing money. They also approve city contracts such as those for affordable public transportation and shelters.
STATE GOVERNMENT
Judges:
This one is crucial. Your state judges act as the Supreme Court of your given state. The cases that they weigh on when it comes to state laws (such as abortion, medical autonomy, immigration, right to protest/free speech, etc.) these are binding and final.
Superintendent of Education:
This is the person who decides if PragerU gets to teach classes on why Zionism and Evangelical teachings are "ok and good, actually".
Secretary of State:
The person who certifies elections in your state - for the Presidency, but also for all of these other positions mentioned. It is so, so important that this person cannot be bought or pressured.
Attorney General:
Has influence over law enforcement agencies and represents the state in legal disputes - such as those where someone is disputing their rights are being infringed by the state. (abortion, medical autonomy, immigration, right to protest/free speech, etc.)
Governor:
Is basically the president of your state. They sign in laws, have veto power and oversee all of the other departments. They also can appoint Justices and State Senate seats if they are empty.
Not only does this person have a lot of state power, they also have a ton of influence over the broader federal climate and are one of the positions that fast-tracks to Presidency (see: Ron Desantis).
State Comptroller (or Controller):
Same as City Comptroller except extremely importantly they manage disaster relief/preparation funding - which is especially important amidst climate change.
Also oversee fraud investigations.
Public Service Commissioner:
Determines rates for things like energy, water, internet in your state.
Also deals with the gas and oil industry in your state, often being in charge of approval/rejection of the building of oil pipelines.
They can be appointed by the Governor.
State Senators:
Has just about the most authority in a state, with the ability to impeach Governors and deny someone the Governor tries to appoint
Another position that fast-tracks to Presidency
Draft and introduce/pass state laws and amend the state constitution
State House of Reps:
Can call for the removal of another legislator
Draft and introduce/pass state laws
All Right. I'm running out of steam on this post. Please, please, please, PLEASE register to vote *right now* and look over the website when you do to see if it can set up email alerts when an election is coming up.
Buy a calendar and mark voting days and stick it to your wall TODAY. Set aside an hour of your time, TODAY, to make a plan for voting.
Go to this website, enter your state. It will tell you exactly what to do. Register.
Lastly, if you don't like Biden and it makes you feel like shit to vote for him (understandably), then YOU NEED TO VOTE IN THE PRIMARY.
#us politics#politics#voting#us voting#I am sure I missed some shit here but I am tired and I don't usually make long posts like this#this took HOURS ok#listen I get it if you don't like biden I really truly do he is complicit in a genocide I GET IT#but if you think that trump winning is going to send some kind of message buddy you're just plain wrong#I am not saying vote blue cause I think democrats are good or because I'm a floppy liberal or whatever#you can do more than one thing at a time and imo voting blue for president is the bare minimum WHILE you protest & do public outreach#long post#Youtube

i've been dreading this friday afternoon budget meeting all week and telling myself "you just have to get through this and then you're in the clear." and it was predictably miserable until 4 minutes before the end when someone pointed out that we only had 4 minutes left and we hadn't even talked about the thing we needed to talk about. and then we had to schedule another meeting 😭😭😭😭
#so now i have to wait until thursday to get this shit resolved because these people refuse to send a goddamn email#last time i requested information in writing i got back to back to back stream of consciousness messages riddled with typos and mistakes#and when i responded laying out clear questions and concerns they never responded#they just waited until our next meeting and then dropped some new shit on me#i sent an email on wednesday with a very simple request. no response. until I mentioned the email in the meeting#and then within 10 minutes I had a response#like. i was worried i was being too mean#but this person literally. LITERALLY. wrote 8000000 when they meant 8000. and didn't notice.#i think they feel like i'm picking on them but the errors are not small. i let a lot of small ones go#but I can't let 'confuses thousands for millions' go. and even then all I did was privately tell my boss the correct number#anyway now i get to sit and stress about this for. counts on fingers. five more days#is this a real problem? no. but it's just yet another small thing that is going the wrong way for me#and i feel so buried under the small things#and i'm so tired. and my eye keeps twitching. and my head hurts. and i want to crawl into a small cozy cave and hibernate like a bear
