i wanted to come on here and share some of my favorite byler moments that make really all my doubt go away about them being endgame. i also want to share something that somewhat makes me doubt byler endgame, just to hear yalls thoughts on it.

3 moments that take away my byler endgame doubt:

☆mikes inability to hug will at the airport☆

this scene screams “i’ve thought way too much about how i feel about my best friend and i don’t wanna make it even more weird.” we’ve seen mike be affectionate with will before (especially in s2), and even with dustin in s4. so why couldn’t he just give will a real hug? will literally has his arms out. he’s ready. and mike just… gives him that awkward one-armed back pat? some people say “maybe mike knows will likes him and doesn’t want to lead him on.” okay, but mike doesn’t know will is gay. he doesn’t. and if he was worried about leading him on, then why is he being so soft and flirty in both bedroom scenes later? it doesn’t add up. the hug hesitation makes way more sense if mike’s trying to suppress feelings he doesn’t fully understand or isn’t ready to admit.

☆“you never say it” vs. “you didn’t have to” ☆

yeah, obviously. this was what convinced me personally to start shipping byler. because what clearer of a parallel do you need? watching mike and el’s fight scene vs. mike and wills bedroom scene is just pure perfection. we clearly see that mike struggles with affirming el’s needs, because he isn’t verbally able to say what she needs him to say. they struggle with communication in that way. in mike and wills scene, we honestly see the complete opposite. even without will saying anything to mike about how he was acting, mike still understood and didn’t even need him to say anything. there’s a mutual understanding between the two of them that el and mike don’t have. you all know this, idk why im explaining this lmao.

this one hit me hard. so let’s break this down: the girl he’s supposedly been obsessed with all summer kisses him, tells him she loves him too, and his reaction is… to keep his eyes wide open during the kiss and say nothing back? even though he knows she’s about to move across the country? and then when she walks away, the look on his face is just… not what you’d expect from someone who's finally “gotten the girl.” it’s not happy. it’s confused. and it’s not just the kiss, the whole final montage feels off. mike’s standing in front of a closet when she kisses him. el is literally holding will’s bear while they kiss. symbolically, it’s like will is between them. it doesn’t feel triumphant or romantic — it feels heavy and unresolved.

and now here’s a minor thing that kind of makes me doubt sometimes:

☆the duffer brothers having to cater to the GA. ☆

i 100% believe byler should be canon- and honestly, it would be queerbaiting if it doesn’t happen. but i have to admit, a lot of the GA don’t pick up on the subtle queer coding around mike wheeler’s character. i’m saying this from a somewhat biased perspective, based on what my own family and peers (who are very much part of the GA) have said about how they interpreted season 4. most of them picked up on the fact that will is in love with mike, and that he lied about the painting- which, great! that part wasn’t exactly subtle. but when it comes to mike, most of them interpreted his love confession to el as totally sincere, and a big turning point in their relationship. a lot of them say stuff like, “it’s sweet that will loves mike, but mike’s never shown interest back, so it wouldn’t make sense for byler to happen in season 5.” now obviously, we don’t agree with that- we’ve seen the deeper queer coding in mike’s behavior, his hesitations, his repression, the emotional weight of his moments with will. but the GA tends to take things at face value, and i can unfortunately see the duffer brothers trying to cater to them by going for an ending that feels “safe” or “clear” to the widest audience possible. and that would honestly really suck. i don’t want to believe they’d do that, but at the same time, i wouldn’t be shocked if they did.

I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been going through one of my depressive episodes and I typically fall out of drawing for months when those happen. So I haven’t really made any progress on the comic, which is what I know yall don’t wanna hear. School should be starting back up again sometime soon though and I’ll be forced to draw so I’ll probs get back into then.

For your second question:

I ship Killer X Cross because I think their dynamic would be interesting and a bit goofy. Killer being the bastard he is goes well with Cross who would balance him out and perhaps make less bad choices. On the other hand, Killer could teach Cross how to loosen up a bit and live a little. They can also both relate on the “I was once sharing a body with Chara” thing lol. Plus, I think Cross could maybe have the same end effect that Color would have on Killer in that if they were to realize that maybe being under Nightmares power isn’t so healthy, Cross could help steer Killer towards the path of freedom?

Horror x Dust is a little more tricky to explain. I feel it came more from a place of necessity rather than genuine love for each other? They got together to stabilize each other while under Nightmare, it was a way to cope. It’s a bit toxic with Horror’s constant paranoia/distrustfulness/anger issues and Dust’s apathy/indifference and the tendency to dissociate as well as major move swings. I like to think there’s a time where they eventually work this stuff out and can actually be together, I don’t think it’s realistic. At least without another outsiders help, like shipping Horror with Farm and Dust with Fell. If it was more of a poly, the other two could help stabilize Horror and Dust I feel.

I love angst and stuff but at the same time it makes my heart ache so much 😭 so these aren’t like the only pairings I like with the group. I like the idea of it being a poly of all of them, including Nightmare, with varying levels of closeness.

For the ships I find gross/disturbing: I feel like the obvious ones do not need to be named, so just the proship ones. I’m not usually the type to go on a rant about proshipping and stuff, so I’ll leave it at that.

If you’re asking what type of ships I personally dislike though, that answer is also a little boring as I don’t really mind what other people think as long as it’s not weird. Like, I’ll occasionally see something like Nightmare X Fresh and the most I’ll do is question where that idea came from. Good art is good art so you’ll get a like from me no matter the subject (besides the obvious boundaries).

I was a Lukola shipper myself.. I fell for the longing looks shared between N & L, the unhinged comments to one another, the hand holding, the “professional” jealousy.. all of it.. I thought for sure these two must be into one another.. but then the pap pictures dropped and my ass jumped ship. I fell from the land of Lukola back to reality in seconds. Won’t lie.. it hurt just a bit. 😅 but I appreciated those pictures dropping because this gal needed her life back. 😆 Here is where my rant begins.. I apologize ahead of time if this is all over the place.. I’ll blame my ADHD & lack of sleep on that.

Listen, I know we were all caught up with the PR tour between L & N. It felt real. I get it. They sold the damn thing. However the reality of it ending hasn’t reality’d enough for certain people yet & I am beginning to think it won’t for many. I have no issue with delulu and shipping.. but it’s becoming uncomfortable at this point. I’ve had to remove people that I followed on TT and had at one time enjoyed participating in their lives.. but because they are now UNBELIEVABLY CRINGE.. they had to go..when does shipping become unhealthy? Because these folks have hit the unhealthy stage and flew right into a straight jacket at this point.. like again I have no issue with healthy shipping.. in your own little corners where it doesn’t get weird & have the ability to fall onto the FYP of those you’re shipping. 😬 It’s really no wonder L has dropped off SM.. like could you imagine his face? Getting on TT to scroll and see a live of N’s sunglasses zoomed in to the point of no return.. to have a whole ass drawing created in the lenses of the glasses, with a circle on the blob arm indicating that the blurry area is indeed your bird tattoo.. 👁️👄👁️ like you know that man has got to be scared for his life at this point. It’s so cringe. It makes me feel so uncomfortable so I can’t imagine how L&N would feel watching it. The crease in the shirt? COME ON YALL! Does no one’s t-shirt ever roll up at their arm? I mean.. I am legit just watching these discussions with probably the stupidest look on my face. 🥴 I think what makes me most annoyed isn’t what’s being said.. it’s how it is being said. Again, having delulu opinions and having fun with it all is one thing.. but presenting it all like it’s actual facts is so insane. There has been ZERO evidence that L&N have seen one another since the tour ended. NONE. But you know who she has been seen with? Multiple times? JD.. not L. N can post a love song or two and these individuals are CONVINCED that the songs are about L.. you can’t even bring up JD without the Lukola shippers attacking you with the “JD is gay! He’s had a partner for years!” comments or “JD & N aren’t dating. He’s gay! They are besties!” But you know.. she’s only spending a CRAP TON of time with him, their are receipts that she saw him during the tour, their are receipts that they are following one another’s friends/family, he literally came to the Bridgerton Part 2 premiere.. I feel like he’d have to be quite important to her in order to be in attendance.. like come on yall. Wake up, please for the love of all things holy.. wake up.. I am just so afraid that the behavior of this fandom is going to make things awkward for L&N once S4 filming starts. I don’t know. Maybe I’m overreacting. I just think it’s gotten so out of hand at this point. The shipping use to be fun. Exciting. Like we all knew they weren’t together and we just had fun within our little circle and delulu’d together.. but now it’s creepy & so far away from fun.

But that’s my rant. I personally just want N & L happy with whomever they choose to spend their lives with. I think it’s sweet seeing N share her love songs & I strongly believe JD is the reason behind all of that. If he treats her like the queen that she is then I’m happy for her! 4. okay this might be funnily weird but when satine isnt mentioned!! lol. like it can have other obi wan ships but when obi was centric thing happens and he talks about love and all but doesnt mention satine? mind u thats the woman he was willing to leave the order for😭😭 stop acting like disney who like to pretend padme never existed. yall do the same with satine.

5. i love time travel fics but some of them having characters that instantly blurt out the truth instead of pausing and thinking what will happen if i do this.

LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT. when yall take one side with the parents. istg. leia is breha and bail’s kid and she is also anakin and padme’s. anakin and padme were created based off of luke and leia😭😭 you can’t change the similarities between them because it EXISTS FOR A REASON. but also you dont get to ignore bail and breha’s hand in raising leia. if leia was left to be raised by vader she’d be twisted into sth evil. leia’s goodness and righteousness and sense of justice, all of which she inherited from padme and anakin, was ALSO taught by bail and breha. they taught her to be a good person. someone who fights for justice and freedom. leia is all of their legacy. please stop picking sides it’s gross. anakin and padme didnt have a choice when it came to parenting leia because one was dead and the other thought leia was dead but they loved her from the moment they knew they would have a child. anakin was even convinced it would be a girl and he was so excited. to not acknowledge that is insulting really. and also, it was bail and breha who raised her and loved her. she was their child. their pride. to not acknowledge everything leia is BECAUSE of them is also insulting. i need fic writers to do better

lex wisther, local cafe owner who can see the emotions & intentions of other people through ribbons and has two yoinger twin brothers who are hero & villain archnemesises(?)

noxurous, local enby amnesiac villain with shadow powers who may or may not have a thing for lex (and vice versa >:))

and marissa villaneuva, local demon villain dubbef purgatory who i havent fleshed out but she does crime because shes lowkey depressed (im still working jt out yall)

i would yap abt the plot but that seems like spoiler territory but it will unfortunately revolve around lex & nox eventually. still working on ship names rn. i think shadowmilk would be really funny considering thats a crk char (shadowmilk cookie my beloved & beloathed) but also. shadow = nox bc shadow powers. milk = lex bc he works at a cafe. yk.
