Something something lambs are often used in rituals to summon demons and sheep zed x demon impulse

Impulse gets a lot of things sacrificed to summon him. The difference is that most of those things are dead by the time he gets there. Leaves a bad taste in his mouth, but there's nothing he can do by then.

He thought he'd be prepared for the day one of the summonings had a still living sacrifice. He'd be this big hero, even if it was just a small bird!

Yeah, no, he kinda ends up freezing. 'cause this sheep hybrid is looking at him with big, glassy eyes, fur burnt and matted around his ears.

Impulse forgets his plans for heroics entirely, picks the hybrid up and runs. Thankfully, none of the several things that could have gone wrong with this (including just summoning him back? He didn't even think about that until Zed pointed it out after) did.

Which means Impulse is in the wrong dimension. With a sheep hybrid. That he rescued? Kidnapped?

He has no idea, but now he has to deal with it.

As of rn? Fabian Seacaster LKJSDSDG Impulse wasn't really someone i identified with as much as i felt like i just really Got his character , but fabian.... hoo boy . he's not Me as in 'that's how i act' (that title would be given to Riz) but he's me because of experiences KLSHDGJ somewhat . anyway watch fantasy high /silly

Honestly? I'm not super sure ! I think i definitely lean towards dialogue and imagery though . I think of writing as a bit like painting, and i think it definitely colors my style of writing :0 like layering stuff w imagery and abstract prose . no idea if this makes sense LK:JHSDG

Hmmm... Probably the zedpulse thing i started for imptober? because like. yeah no i'm not finishing that LKSJHDG but actually maybe if someone could write my shapeshifter joel au fic series for me, thatd be awesome KLJSDHGSDG but . well. doubt that's happening anytime soon

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

Yes, definitely! I've read a lot of fics that have made an impact on my writing, and I'm. so sorry to tag this writer on this long and somewhat cursed post but @milo-hypno's works have inspired my writing and was honestly one of my inspirations that made me start posting HC/mcyt writing in the first place :] you're awesome!

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?

Hanahaki, i guess? i can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but this also just depends on the execution . generally i steer clear of those though, it just makes me feel Blegh as someone who's on the aro spectrum

Z: Major character death–do you ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death you can’t tolerate?

Hmm... Sometimes, maybe? It really depends, but it has to be something that specifically caters to My tastes because there's no way i'm just reading a hurt no comfort fic LKJHDSGJKDSG it's too sad for me !! i can't take it !!

This is barely an idea but hear me out: Demon Impulse x Sacrificial Lamb Zedaph

Just. the symbolism. The themes. You get it.

Impulse has always been too soft-hearted. It's something everyone tells him: his family, his friends and (most worryingly) his employers.

So is it any surprise that when he sees the big, pleading eyes of the sacrifice that Impulse just can't do it? Maybe picking the sacrifice up and fleeing to the surface was a bit nuclear, but Impulse isn't good under pressure! It's all he could think of!

Well. They better start getting to know each other, because now Impulse is the fish out of water demon out of hell. The sacrifice - Zedaph but please call me Zed, Daph is my father, he's not really but I've always wanted to say that - says they can find his home. There's people there that will help them, yes, both of them.

Which means Impulse has to put his trust in the guy he was supposed to kill. He thinks it's the least he deserves.

Peaches

Impulse falls in love with with a boy that makes him think of summer, on an afternoon filled with laughter and sticky fingers, scraped knees and grins in the golden rays of the setting sun, and stolen peaches tasting all the more sweeter. He falls in love with a boy who’s his best friend, and it should feel so monumental, such an earth changing revelation but it’s not. It should be earth shaking, fireworks and rockets. But it’s not. It’s simply a fact, a part of his world. The sky is blue, the grass is green, and he loves him. It’s as easy as breathing, as natural as the laughter that spills past his lips so effortlessly with him, and he loves him with the quiet realization of it. It’s gentle, a thought that slips into the back of his mind as easily as it appeared. The world keeps turning.

Years down the line, he doesn’t remember that passing thought, on one summer day out of so many like it. He looks at peaches and a fond smile comes to his face- they’re his favorites, though he doesn’t quite know why. He only had them a few times, after all. But the peaches always seemed to taste sweeter with him. So as Zedaph turns to him with a question on his lips, there’s a moments pause and a laugh as they each grab one and continue on their way. The thought of peaches is soon forgotten, swept up in a burst of nostalgia.

And the moment goes by, of thoughts of summer and stolen peaches and sticky fingers, smiles and laughter and a fondness for the fruit years later that he doesn’t remember being part of a realization that was so gentle and easy he didn’t really realize it as he turns to his friend you love him, you’ve loved him for years and it’s so easy, its so natural that you don’t even think of how you love him with every breath, with every smile, with every time you look over and find he’s still there beside you��and cracks a smile at the way he laughs. There’s a spark of mischief in his eyes, unmistakable as Zedaph waves his hands, gesturing wildly with juice all over his fingers as they walk, remembering the same summer afternoons as Impulse watches fondly and eats from his own sweet and sticky hand.

Impulse fell in love in summer. And what remains is a smile, the distant memory of a summer afternoon, and the sweetness of peaches on his tongue.
