(Some of these I might use/did use in fics, but others are just there)

1. Huxley had a bunny growing up. It was potty-trained and very curious about all the flowers his moms' and him would bring into the house. They had to keep the lilies locked away in a different room, to make sure the bunny didn't eat any of them.

2. Babe got a stick and poke tattoo of an outline of a wolf on the lower part of their thigh, as a teen. It wasn't the best, and it's pretty much faded now, but they remember how upset their mom was about it when she found out. They forgot that they couldn't wear shorts or else she'd see.

3. Babe also used to go explore abandoned buildings when they were younger. They mostly went to this one building that used to be an old gristmill, but stopped going there when the roof collapsed after a bad storm. They did it to escape to a place where it was quiet, but sometimes they'd bring a friend along to go exploring. They have a bunch of printed photos from those times.

4. Asher likes to joke with Darlin' that they should serenade Sam by playing "Your Man" by Josh Turner. (baby lock them doors and turn the lights down low-)

5. Smartass was in love with horses as a kid, and would ask for a horse/pony every birthday growing up (they never got one). But they used to collect horse figurines, and still have them in a box somewhere.

6. Asset's favorite board game as a kid was "Chutes and Ladders".

7. For a year or two, David was a social toddler, but at the end of preschool he started to get really shy (nobody really knew why). The only time he seemed to open up was when Asher was around, but was never as social as he once was.

8. Christian likes to go zip-lining and he and Amanda once went on a date to one of those zip-lining and ropes courses.

9. Amanda had braces as a kid, and in her early teens, but she got them off before she headed into high school. She preferred getting neon pink rubber bands.

10. Sam got the chicken pox as a kid (his Grandma mostly took care of him for that week or so when he was sick), and one of the first good things he realized after he got turned into a vampire was that at least he wouldn't have to worry about shingles (or vaccines in general) anymore.

11. Hush doesn't really care for cheese, but whenever Doc gets something that has gooey cheese, they'll let him do the first cheese pull since he likes seeing how far he can get it to stretch. So far he's managed 16 inches with cheesy bread sticks.

13. DAVID AND ANGEL GET A CAT. They originally were going to get one after their honeymoon, but then that didn't happen because life got busy again. David thought getting them a cat might be a good [insert holiday] gift, and the two of them could go pick out one at the humane society. But then one day David found a kitten on the street as he was walking by with Milo. The kitten just waddled right up to the two of them and actually seemed to like David. So he takes it home, especially because if Milo were to take it, Aggro would have a problem sharing his people (someone made a headcanon of that awhile ago and I AGREE. Aggro doesn't like to share. He wants to be the one and only best boy. I'll have to find it later. Shout out to whoever thought of it.) And voila. They have a cute little kitten now and are cat parents :D (I have a draft of this storyline, i just haven't finished it)

14. Treasure is really into bats and has been since they were a kid. Their family would always buy them bat stuff as a kid and into adulthood, so they have a lot bat themed things. They also have an old 3rd-grade informative essay, explaining different types of bats, hidden away in a folder. They wanted to be a zookeeper as a kid, specifically so they could take care of the fruit bat exhibit. Porter thought it was ironically funny when he first was invited to their home and the amount of things related to bats (and in correlation, vampires) that they owned.

15. Lovely plays the Sims A LOT (they like to build houses or other buildings the most).

Ambretta Ant (and Grosvenor the Mosquito in a way) was the mascot of Treasure Lagoon, an island separated from the grounds of Indigo Park. It was a fusion of the abandoned real-life Disney attractions, River County and Discovery Island, and TL was said to take heavy inspiration from South America. It was closed long before Indigo Park’s closure, and the attraction was replaced by Oceanic Odyssey.

River County: Treasure Lagoon came with a swimming park that appears like El Dorado. Their tallest structure was a Mesoamerican pyramid that served as the highest sliding point, and its slides went around and down to a giant swimming hole. Unfortunately, deaths have been reported in this part of TL: to simply put, drownings and bacteria were common, the latter being the ultimate cause of the attraction’s closure.

Discovery Island: Treasure Lagoon was like a zoo. It provided several animals like flamingoes and lemurs, although Indigo Park was charged for mishandling them. Zookeepers were encouraged to teach children and adults the environment and animals they look after.

In the present, Treasure Lagoon now resembles a swamp with overgrown vegetation. The boardwalks and slides are now fragile and are very likely to collapse if one steps or stays on them for a long period of time. The “swimming hole” has flooded most of the grounds and you have to use sturdy platforms to explore the attraction safely. Additionally, it takes an informational building to make out the identities of Ambretta and Grosvenor on their horribly shredded cardboard cutouts (you know like Salem’s at Rambley’s Railroad, but nearly into pieces) littered around the attraction.

Treasure Lagoon also serves as a bloody hunting ground for the beast form of Ambretta and Grosvenor, who have fused together into a mutated anaconda (Cat Dog-style) with spores protruding from their bodies and eyes. Ambretta hunts the Discovery Island part, while Grosvenor hunts at the River County part of Treasure Lagoon. Some animals who found the former attraction their new home turn into a skeleton the moment they step onto the docks or grass.

When it comes to the main enemy of Treasure Lagoon, Ambretta is actually more violent than Grosvenor because, true to her former character, she is extremely protective of the attraction’s nature and it does explain parts of human skeletons lying around (animal skeletons found on the island are nearly complete). Although, their urbex gear are left behind on the ground for unknown reasons, probably the beast is curious about those “treasures.”

Ambrevenor, as I’m going to call their beast form for short, is freakishly long: it covers the entire island like a record-breaking vine. Stealth is needed to avoid being killed by the beast and to do so, it’s recommended to hide in/behind structures that don’t collapse. Ambrevenor’s way of signaling their presence is the spores: if it glows brighter, it’s time to hide.

Bonus: Ambretta and Grosvenor are best known to be part of multiple comic series that covers their adventures (and escapades when it comes to action parts, Darkwing Duck-style). While a few of their runs have been left on cliffhangers, it continues to carry Indigo Park’s spirit after the closure with upcoming adventures announced in the present, one involving Ambretta adopting a “young prodigy.” Other Indigo Park characters made either cameos or guest appearances, notably Mollie Macaw (and led to the rise of Mollie x Ambretta, aka Molletta/Treasure Skies), in the comics.

tumblr releasing shitty updates for the community to complain about/immediately work on fixes for is like how zookeepers give pumpkins to animals for enrichment, except that our enclosure is a junkyard, a city constructed out of scrap metal and tarp with buildings getting precariously higher and higher as the years pass by. sometimes we get too comfortable here and staff is like, what we need is to revitalize the ecosystem, which means dropping a feature meant to attract normies in a shiny metal cage in the middle of our enclosure, which we then proceed to rip apart with our bare hands. and this is fun for us. who would we be with a functioning website? what kinds of peoples would see the treasure we have been hoarding under the layers of cringe and attempt to pillage it? tumblr dropping in features for normies is a threat to them. the bright light of an anglerfish. it says look at our lives, our pretty new dashboard; come, away from twitter and tiktok. and we are shark that sees that light and instead eats the whole fucking anglerfish.

(CNN) — Ever since her 2020 birth, Fu Bao has been one of South Korea’s biggest celebrities, with fans eagerly following every milestone of her life at Everland Resort’s Panda World, a theme park in Yongin city.

But the country’s most famous and beloved giant panda is set to bid South Korea a final farewell in April, with preparations now underway for her journey to her new home in China.

During the last week of Fu Bao’s public viewing earlier this month, visitors reportedly endured wait times of 5-6 hours just to catch a glimpse of the celebrity bear for a mere five minutes, as the park restricted viewing times to manage the influx of visitors, according to park officials.

On Fu Bao’s last day of public viewing on March 3, she received farewell gifts, including a panda family doll crafted from bamboo, a bouquet of flowers and heart-shaped pieces of bread from her dedicated keepers at Everland.

Born to parents Ai Bao and Le Bao in July 2020 as part of China’s “panda diplomacy” program, Fu Bao is South Korea’s first naturally-bred panda.

In the days following her birth, Everland’s social media channels offered fans a steady diet of Fu Bao videos, with its YouTube channel pulling in more than 1.2 million subscribers and, as of February, surpassing 500 million cumulative views, according to the park.

A two-hour video chronicling Fu Bao’s journey from birth to childhood added to the Everland YouTube channel eight months ago has garnered 1.6 million views.

The most recent videos on the channel are now filled with warm and heartfelt messages from viewers, including the beloved cub’s self-proclaimed “online aunties.”

“Fu Bao, you’re a happy treasure that came to us like a miracle during the difficult Covid pandemic,” reads one Youtube comment.

“Your aunties have been so happy to have known you and you made me smile so much. You’re a clever one so I’m so sure you’ll do well in a new environment!”

Another commented that they “can’t believe how time passes so quickly and that we have to let Fu Bao go. I’m so sad to let her go … I support our Fu and love you. Every moment knowing you has been a great joy with laughter. Thank you.”

Thanks to Fu Bao’s widespread popularity, her dedicated zookeeper has also found himself in the spotlight, becoming a bit of a social media star himself.

Often referred to as her grandpa, Kang Chul-won offered his own farewell message for Fu Bao, noting that the Korean people’s special love for her all began with social media videos shared during the Covid pandemic when the zoo was closed.

“She brought help and happiness to a society in many ways that was having a difficult time due to the coronavirus,” Kang said in a video posted to YouTube.

During remarks to the press earlier this month, he said people visited the social media sites every day, so it felt like he was “raising her together with them.”

“Of course there are aspects of her cuteness and playfulness, but they cared so much for her and they shared the same emotions of raising a cub together during such difficult times,” Kang said.

Though one could argue it’s impossible to identify a single social media moment that catapulted Fu Bao to stardom, there are a couple of standout videos that have been particularly popular with viewers.

In one video, Fu Bao clings tightly to Kang’s leg, unwilling to let go, as he spins gently around the room.

After many attempts to uncoil her strong arms, he finally separates himself from her.

The other short video shows Fu Bao clinging to Kang’s arm while relaxing on a wooden bench.

As the zookeeper gently pushes her arm so he can take his phone out of his pocket, the panda links her arms tightly around his left arm.

After he motions to show something on the phone to her, she rolls onto her back.

In an announcement from Everland, the company says Fu Bao will be transferred to the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in Sichuan Province in early April.

Everland said that it will keep her in a separate space at Everland Panda World for a month to prepare her to adjust to her new environment before her overseas transfer, which will be carried out in accordance with international regulations.

According to the agreement between Samsung C&T, the parent company of Everland, and the China Wildlife Conservation Association, mature pandas must be returned to China before they turn four years old.

Once Fu Bao departs for China, there will be four giant pandas left at Everland – Fu Bao’s mother Ai Bao, father Le Bao, and their twin babies Rui Bao and Hui Bao, who were born in July 2023.

11) What was your inspiration for your OC?

this one is hard to answer because i don’t really actively take inspiration for any of my characters! it’s definitely something i do, but it’s more subconscious. if i were to line up all my favorite characters from movies/books/etc and compare them with my ocs, i could definitely find similarities between them. it’s just not something i sit down and do. for me, i more so just pick particular tropes i enjoy writing and go from there. songs are also a big part of my characters, and most of them do have oc playlists — the only one that is super refined though is iovitus’, the rest of them are just sort of a mishmash of songs that remind me of that particular character. i think the only time i made a character based on a preexisting one was with ruckus — she was pretty heavily influenced by silver from treasure planet!

Accidentally developing a crush on the alien zookeeper and it turns into a new show for the zoo. They advertise our forbidden love across the galaxy and crowds come from across the Sagittarius arm to see me pick flowers for them. At first it's kind of endearing, but the pressure of their job and boss make it toxic in a way I'll never understand. Instead of a romantic thread growing into a fabric for the both of us to share, it's a noose they feel is strangling them.

I pick them flowers, they give me headpats and crowd likes it. The bosses are ticket sales go up and tell the zookeeper to let me kiss their hand. Ticket sales go up, but the zookeeper isn't really returning my feelings, I have to try harder. I start reciting poetry, emotional displays that go viral on the alien networks both cringe and cute, the zookeeper gets told how to react to every new metaphor or similie.

They're looking for escape now, leafing through the classifieds even at work, updating their resume trying to decide to mention me or not. Is our fame a career-ender? How can I want so much for them but hold them back? The bosses pressure begins to be too much, now they want to see the zookeeper kiss me back. Even if it's just for the job and interspecies romance is too taboo, too bizarre for getting a job anywhere else. Aliens would talk, would gossip, recognize their face IT'S TOO MUCH!

Resignation letter on their bosses desk, early in the morning they came to say goodbye. I am so surprised, I've never seen them and the maintenance bots at the same time, say hi to Gary he's the alien Zamboni that resurfaces the ice environments for cold species, he reminds me of home. They can't stay long, they have to leave now, won't be back for a while. Did I do something wrong? Can I come with you? No, stay here and be good, I can do that, I hardly ever try to escape anymore. Scout: there's no surprise here, he always wanted to be a professional baseball player. things just didn't work out in school for him and he was desperate for money

Soldier: he's the only one who sorta got his wish. he wanted to go into the army like his father, but was denied after he failed several tests. mercenary work is close enough, but not quite as respected if the townsfolk are any indication

Pyro: they never really had a dream job. they were always happy with whatever it is they were doing at the time. that is, until they and a couple others on the team went to go see Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. it was that very moment they discovered their dream job

Demoman: he wanted to do so many different things. growing up, he was constantly changing his dream career. one week he'd wanna run an oddities museum, the next he wanted to be a treasure hunter. the issue was he was always pushed towards "real" jobs, not those "fantasy kid dreams that'll never make real money"

Heavy: he wanted to be an amateur author on the side, but mostly wanted to get into professional boxing. it was unfortunate timing that the events of his past happened, and by the time his family escaped the gulag he was more focused on protecting them than following his dreams

Sniper: he was actually pushed more towards taking over the sheep farm from his parents but instead found himself in his current career. it wasn't what he dreamed of doing either. he wanted to be a zookeeper, which was frowned upon thanks to Saxton. he always had a love for animals and dreamed of what it'd be like to dedicate his days to taking care of so many different and exotic kinds of them
