Hi, I’m Sarah! (She/her) I’m ace and awkward. I believe in Tony Stark, Leona Kingscholar, and Jason Todd supremacy.🩵 🦁🩸I am in the fandoms of Twisted Wonderland, Marvel, and DC.Note that I don’t care too much about canon. My brain has apparently decided that I only vibe with fanon things because while I adore all of these fandoms, I have not seen/read all (if any *coughDCcough*) of their canon material. And, honestly, that’s such a power move brain. Except Twst - I’m just working through that slowly. Avatar made by @artbymoga

I see the original post going around every so often and it saddens me a little that it's never accompanied by this thread explaining why it's completely understandable how a child would arrive at these spellings in accordance with english phonetics

I remember when we had someone come in and give little internet safety talks to us in class - about how you shouldn’t trust strangers on the internet and give them your personal information or images of yourself.
Now that social media has become so widespread and accepted and being in online spaces at younger and younger ages is just… the norm, people figure those kinds of lessons aren’t needed anymore I guess. Because kids are basically growing up online.
But imo they still DO need the lessons and this is a big reason why. I mean, yeah they shouldn’t be warned not to talk to strangers on the internet. Because… no.
But they should be warned about giving out too much personal information because the internet legitimately never forgets. They should be reminded that being on the internet and seeing adult content does not mean they are adults, regardless of what they may want to think. That there are more than just porn BOTS on sites like this.
There are people behind these profile pictures, for better or for worse - and our actions online can have real life repercussions.
The least you can do is protect yourself.
It's actually so scary to hear yall are 12-13 😭😭 when I was 12 I wasn't actively talking to the creators that I liked and I was in a very small/and not very safe community

Its obvious to me when people who post about canaries in mines have never met a canary. Like yeah the miners had a special device to revive the canary because canaries are one of the most adorable creatures on the planet and they make adorable little chirping sounds and honestly probably loved the sounds of machinery and people talking so it was probably loud and friendly with the workers. Whatever though maybe meet a canary sometime and youd understand

I don’t know the context of this, but considering Jade is the one in the last part has anyone tagged @quartztwst in this masterpiece of a shitpost? 💀
I made this based on a joke both Cozy and I simultaneously thought would happen when we watched this part come out on jpn server. It's truly something only we would find funny but enjoy 😭😭😭

Did you know that May fourth was the day Alice was in Wonderland?
In the book, Alice mentions that she hopes that the March Hare wouldn’t be as mad since it was May, and then later, when the Hatter asks her what day of the month it is, Alice tells him it’s the fourth.
May fourth also happens to be Alice Pleasance Liddell’s birthday, who was the inspiration for the Alice books!
So, forget Star Wars day, May fourth belongs to Carrollians!

Thank you for the tag @pinkbeeps! One day I will hop back over to Twisted Wonderland fics and immediately smash face first into your SymVil. The fact that it’s over still hit me like a truck. The completed fic stares into my soul from my “marked for later” fics every time I scroll past it, judging me. I think it may be plotting my demise.
Please tell your fic not to murder me. Because then I DEFINITELY can’t read it. 😔
ANYWAY!

Thinking about Lilo & Stitch makes me really appreciate certain things about the original + the series. Almost every single named [human] character in the movie isn’t white: the only exception being Mertle, y’know, the bratty little girl we’re not supposed to like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Besides all of the racial representation, Lilo herself is very much a neurodivergent icon, and her portrayal as the protagonist is amazing considering how characters like her are typically either sidelined or depicted in ways to make them less sympathetic/human (modern media does at least a slightly better job at adressing that kind of thing tho).
Tumblr media
So all of that is great, but to anyone that hasn’t seen Lilo & Stitch: The Series, it also does some extremely refreshing stuff.
Pleakley gets tons of validation to dress in drag, everyone always referring to Pleakley as “she” when dressed up as “aunt Pleakley.” There’s even an episode that tackles Pleakley dealing with the pressures of his family that wants him to marry a girl and settle down to have a “normal life.” After the episode's shenanigans, there's a realistic depiction of the misunderstanding of a heteronormative/traditional parent with their non-traditional child: Pleakley's mom says that she just wants her children to be happy, but when Pleakley says that he is happy, she thinks he's only trying to console her as she insists, "How can you be happy? You aren't even married." But Pleakley finally gets it through to his mom when he says, "I don't want to be married, mother! I'm happy just as I am."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After getting to meet all of Pleakley's ohana throughout the episode and hearing from Pleakley himself -after all of the previous misunderstandings- that he really, truly, is happy, she's finally starting to understand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though his mom comments as they leave that she wants him to “try wearing men’s clothes more often,” she still does walk away accepting that she simply doesn’t understand her son's way of thinking. It’ll definitely be hard for her since she’s so much more “traditional,” but she’s finally coming to grips with the fact that her son is who he is, and likes being that way, so she’ll love him regardless. She's trying her best.
The portrayal of people with physical disabilities is also great. It’s not because there’s one recurring character with some condition, but almost because there are non-recurring characters. It isn’t in every episode, but here’s an example: they want to show someone at the park playing fetch with their dog for just one shot. They could very easily have it be any a random person, but they decided to make it a lady in a wheelchair. There's another episode where Nani's friends from highschool show up and one has forearm crutches, but not just because she had some recent accident. No one in the episode questions her condition or feels the need to point it out, the only comment on it being that the friend will use the crutches to lightly bonk the others' arms, and Nani jokes, "You are still deadly with that thing."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fact that they include characters with disabilities when they "don't have to" makes it that much more normal. These people aren't some special case or the main highlight of the episode, they're just another person. They're normal.
There's so much that all of the original Lilo & Stitch media did right, but now the name will forever be tainted with the association of the remake, which I'm sure will have absolutely none of the tasteful writing and ideas of anything prior to it.

Okay, while I don’t really appreciate the accusatory tone OP uses in their first posts, because it’s really not people’s faults for not hearing about this movie due to it being buried for the exact reason we should be fighting to support it, I do think it’s important to get the word out about it!
And I wanted to reblog this post because it gives good info and it’s the post that actually let me know this movie existed. Because I was unaware until yesterday that it was a thing. But I adore 2D animation. So I saw this post at like 2:30 am last night and I texted my mother and told her that we were going to see it the next day.
Well here I’m today, having just got back from the movie theater and it was honestly SO GOOD??? I had seen comments on this post saying it was, and the trailer looked funny (of course - it’s Looney Tunes), but I was going either way to support 2D animation and animators.
But I was surprised at how much I liked it! It was a really good blend of nostalgia and modernity and there were several laugh out loud moments not only for me, but for my mom and for the other people in the audience as well.
Also? Disney should take notes on how to do satisfying twist moments from this movie. Because Disney’s last couple of “twist villains” and/or “plot twists” have been incredibly weak at best and insulting at worst.
There should be some sort of hint to them. They shouldn’t come out of nowhere. It’s one thing for an audience to be surprised because they didn’t catch the hints or forgot about them in all the chaos, it’s another for them to be surprised because there were no hints to make them suspect the “twist” at all. One is good writing, the other is lazy and is just playing off of shock value.
Disney could also learn the lesson that Chekhov’s guns are far more satisfying than deus ex machinas, especially when the supposed insignificance and uselessness of the item can double as a gag.
Isn’t it funny how a 2D animated movie that has gotten so little attention that it was nearly pulled from theaters early, was almost killed in production, and was not truly made or supported by a big name movie mogul that only cares about money has more love for the source material, entertaining storytelling, genuine emotion, and dynamic visuals than any live action or 3D animated movie I’ve seen in quite a while?
It’s almost like Hollywood is trying to kill creativity just so they can continue to make easy to produce, CGI cookie cutter crap so they don’t have to pay animators for their gorgeous work and ideas! 😱
Anyway, please, please, PLEASE go watch “The Day the Earth Blew Up” in theaters. It’s a gem. 💜
it'd be really cool if everyone put their money where their mouths are and went and saw the new fully 2d animated looney tunes movie that's in theaters RIGHT NOW instead of continuing to scream about the snow white and lilo and stitch remakes

Hey, you’re already doing a lot! Art pieces like this along with your leovil comics and I’m sure you’re also doing other things irl… honestly I’m impressed by the amount of work you’re able to put out.
Don’t be like Azul - frustrated that you can’t get 11 things done because you only have 8 tentacles and 2 arms. You’re already doing 10 things! Besides… no one wants to be Azul 🤢 /j
Came for the Leona content, stayed for… pretty much everything tbh lmao 😂

Okay, why was word shattering panel that also shattered off the helmet from Athena so poignant and possibly the most heartbreaking depiction of that moment I have ever seen, bar none?
And yes, considering I’ve been with EPIC since the beginning, I’m not exaggerating my opinion. I’ve seen both Wolfy and Mircy’s, as well as the very few other full length ones on YouTube.
Just… the imagery of Ody’s words shattering Athena’s armor - taking away her helmet and leaving her standing there barefaced and almost paralleling Odysseus being “just a man” as she is standing there, without protection and hurt as well?
POETRY.
And then I would imagine as she is leaving she reforms the helmet and her eyes and face are fully hidden from Odysseus again, as he has lost the right to see Athena at her most vulnerable and thus her most “human.”
Idk if you make animatics but if you did I get the feeling you’d make a huge wave in the EPIC community. Well… more than you already have I mean. 🤣 Whether you made the animatics with twst characters or you made and designed your own versions of the actual EPIC characters, I feel like your animatics would be just as incredible as your art already is.
Because holy shit rakiah.
