i would 100% write the same btu i'm not good at writing lmfao
I WILL be writing (or, rather, attempting to write) an AU where Vi runs into Gert after Caitlyn asks her to be an entire instead of Lois and they run off happily into the sunset before Vi goes through all that with Caitlyn. Trust I will find a way to include Gert in any part of the story!

guys guys guys
Vi has lived a horrible life, years of her teenhood taken away from her by an oppressive city
surely going back to the privileged cop that hit her on the gut and coerced her into joining the very same faction of cops that have ruined her life will make her already shitty life just a tad bit better, right? nothing like some sesbian lex to flush down a near-decade of meticulous writing and animating down the drain just to appease the gays amirite fellas FUCK YOU SEASON TWO

anyway go k!ll cops and protect black women
How it feels to explain gas physics and basic laws to a Caitlyn defender/apologist
Caitlyn apologists in the big 2025 are a red flag to me, sorry gang.
You can love a character and not have to defend every single action they do.
Like if I have to explain to someone one more time that the Grey does not pick and choose who to affect and that it, in fact, spreads like actual gas I’m going to crash out
Oh and don’t even get me STARTED on the double standard between Caitlyn and Jinx

god yes, you just know Gert will never hit her. I'd like to think that she'll be very gentle with Vi when she needs it, stern on Vi when she also needs it. no BS. no false promises.
like, Gert will have so much in common with her considering they're both Zaunites (they should have a terribly easy time to connect). they'd probably bond over their shared admiration of Vi's revolution-head of a sister. they'd both use their buff physiques to love and protect Jinx. they're the perfect guardians for her.
and of course, they will protect each other! through easy times, and especially through hard ones because they're never unfamiliar with trials and tribulations, anyway. only this time, they'd have each other, and they would 100% breeze through whatever ordeal they encounter.
if only I'm not dumb and unimaginative, I'd write about these two, a lot. Vi x Sevika is great - though there are notable writers of that ship already.
anyone but the "40% of cops", please.
the Vi x Gert truthers (BassBreaker, that's the ship name right?) won me over with this ship, Vi deserves a badass Zaunite rebel girl with chill energy who treats her right. In return Gert gets a super devoted protective girlfriend who enjoys her sick tunes and would punch god in the face for her 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️

YES YESYEYESYEYYSEYESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSA
“Why is Caitlyn using the gray criticized but Jinx bombing the council isn’t?”
Because when you have all the socioeconomic power and resources there are worse implications from you using them. People in power SHOULD BE HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD to prevent ABUSES OF POWER.
Again: Government officials and people put in charge of things should be held to a higher standard. That’s why a rich politician pocketing campaign funds is worse than a person struggling to feed their family shoplifting.

happy pride guys!
as an ally, I propose we rescue our favorite resident butch from her abusive "40% of cops" wife
amanda overton apparently said during a discord call vi has found a family in caitlyn. more like she found another abusive jailor from piltover in caitlyn. but okay. if y'all happy with that.
blink twice if you need help, violet

i will never like the "caitlyn has suffered consequences: she lost her eye!" argument.
vi lost seven fucking years of her teen-hood. in a prison.
fuck your fucking eye.
i really hope the writers didn't have Caitlyn lose an eye as a way to "punish" her in a "subtle" way, or to show the audience she suffered some kind of consequence for her bad actions after all.
people get hurt in a war or during a battle, it's how battles work, and in a realistic story like Arcane whether you get harmed should have nothing to do with how much you "deserve it" (just like in real life).
not to mention that the concept of a character becoming somehow disabled as a punishment for their bad actions is disgusting to say the least, and deeply rooted in bigoted/religious beliefs. we also see this concept with Victor in season 1, and the fact his disability is a consequence of the unhealthy place he grew up in, and not of something he did, gave me some hope that the writers had some idea of how to properly approach this theme.
but i fear they did, in fact, wrote that scene as a punishment moment, where Caitlyn "sacrifices" a part of herself in order to defeat the Real Bad Guy™ of the story, therefore "proving" to the audience she has "earned" the right to be forgiven.

Vi deserves so much better than this dogshit of a season.
The Caitvi reunion on episode 5 honesty just angers me. I have no idea who in the writers' room came up with that, I'd love to hear their thought process because how do you write a scene line that:
To later completely ruin the tone of it, by making the two characters involved quip at each other as if they peacefully parted ways with teasing banter, and not one knocking the other to the ground?
Two characters who supposedly love each other and the only proof of any feelings being there is a blink and you miss it micro expression on Caitlyn's face? No regret? No guilt? Only mocking?
And don't even get me started on this scene.
Why does hitting Vi AGAIN come so easily to Caitlyn? Part of the plan or not, most people would at least pause to think before having to hit a loved one. Not smack them across the face, way harder than necessary, and then shrug it off. Writers, is this truly the right moment for comedy?
That was the moment my love for Caitvi evaporated entirely because I realized the writers are not interested in character development and salvaging it. Brush everything under the rug it is! The entire scene falls flat to me, it made me feel exactly nothing.
Why were they writers so afraid to show Caitlyn have any regrets, other than vague one liners that can be interpreted at least 5 different ways, half of which don't look good for Caitlyn? Back in season 1, and even act 1 of season 2, she was a soft character who searched for Vi when she went to fight Sevika, ran after her into the rain, cried on her shoulder when her mother died. At this point, it can't be described as "Caitlyn was hardened by grief", the writers just chose to erase the core aspects of her personality because they wanted her to be a tough smart-ass.
