2004 Batman Father day Head canons part 2

Disclaimer: anything mentioned here is strictly head canonical and I want to make clear that it is ok if you have a different opinion than I do on this subject, as I would like to hear them as well;

Neutrals

Donny / Prank:

Donny or what Joker decided to nickname him before he met Harley, Prank. Didn't have the best relationship with his father, I made a separate post about this issue, for my story idea of Joker adopting an orphanage, and I still hold by it. Donny was the type of kid to always try and impress his father, even when he wasn't interested. Interesting fact his father could be the same man that Edward / The Riddler grew up with. Cheated or just ditched the family just to be another deadbeat to another.

Now Donny / Edward never even knew that the other existed, until Arkham Asylum ran a DNA test on Edward and found out that both Donny and him are related, which going back to the university he had a student in which would misbehave in other classes, except his, as he always found it engaging. Now Edward was no nonsense man, so realizing that he now had a half brother who was influenced by The Joker, made him furious, so he took the boy in.

Donny does not know The Riddler, but when he reveals his identity to him a year in, it suddenly clicks "Professor Nigma!" Donny would than be torn between the Joker and The Riddler, and the both of them would argue like a divorce couple in which one of them moved on.

So yeah to keep the peace Donny decided to spend half and half with the both of them. That is until The Penguin comes into the picture lol

The Penguin: The Penguin came from a broken family, where they went bankrupt, so in turn Oswald Cobble Pot had to make the Iceberg lounge, which did not allow clowns and was strictly for adults. His father at the time always had disapproved of the idea, because it made him jealous of his son and the fact that he could take over, so he did everything he could to humiliate him, even one time for his birthday, leaving him at the aquarium near the penguin exhibit.

Which only backfired on the father as his son began gaining traction as having features that made him look like a penguin, specifically a macaroni penguin. Eventually he became so popular that he became the mascot for the iceberg lounge, and was very successful.

His mother backed the idea, saying that she was proud of him, but he never won the approval from his father. Who left the picture after finding out not shortly after, burning the house, leaving Ms. Cobble pot homeless. Which Oswald took it upon himself to take his mother under his wing ( no pun intended). By the time he was around his 20's.

Oswald Cobble pot / The Penguin would eventually begin to have feelings for the Riddler, and upon Edwards decision to have Donny work for him, it became official, both Oswald and Edward, ran the Iceberg lounge together with their adopted son Donny.

As well As Oswald becoming a better version of himself for his adopted son and even called the trio, his found family!

So on with the negatives:

Edward Nigma / The Riddler:

The Riddler had a rough past when it came to how is father treated him, instead of Oswald's father just burning down the family home in retaliation for his son finding success through his disability, Edwards father was quite the opposite. His father was always a constant reminder for Edward that he would never be good enough, and tried to make him out to be a real man, and even verbally abused him.

His son Edward would eventually gain low self esteem, and would calm himself down by solving his puzzles, the more complex they were the more interesting that they became, but of course his younger brother clue master, who became obsessed with puzzles, ended up in the hospital numerous times, as the sheer magnitude of comprehending them became a toll on his mental health, which in turn affected Edward, and both brothers would have body dysmorphia from their fathers mistreatment. By the time that Edward was old enough to leave, he did not even say a goodbye, to his father as he kicked him out of the house, unfortunately leaving clue master, to fend for his own, and possibly pass away before CPS could get a hold of him, they did nothing.

Edward would begin to have guilt that he has failed, but would come to realize just how much of a sleazeball his father truly was, and eventually saw his brother, the clue master in Donny. Filling the void that he had as the older sibling and a father alongside Oswald.

The Joker / Jack Napier = Alias unknown

The Joker is a very secretive man about his past, I even covered his past in another post where he was in the foster care system, possibly from neglect or worse. The Joker would insist that his name is Jack Napier as it's the only name he remembers the foster care system giving him. Having no recollection of his biological parents, he would end up being passed around to family after family, with no one matching the criteria needed to take care of him.

When He took in Donny it wasn't out of pity but hopefully out of a conclusion to his life shrouded in mystery. He recognized the green eyes and blonde hair from somewhere. Maybe it was his fathers or someone else's. However when the DNA test from Arkham Asylum came back it turned out that he wasn't related to Donny at all, as the father differed from his own, both his biological parents was an Dominican republic Black woman, and a French Latino Black man. Giving him the name Jack Napier.

However their reason for giving up their son stemmed from the fact that his mother could not care for a child as being a child herself at 16 was too much for her. So without the fathers consent or possibly due to the fact that he was out of state Jack Napier was given up into the foster care system.

When Joker found out about this he was devasted, but there was nothing that he could've done as his own father never tried fighting for custody, so there is speculation on what actually happened to the mother, speculation and heavy suspicion on the fathers part.

Joker still takes it upon himself to take care of Donny the best way he could, even trying to endanger the child in giving him the same treatment that he went through, erasing his identity and sense of self. That is of course before The batman intervenes and Donny gets taken away from him.

He is not to be trusted around children especially Donny and even has to have supervised visits every time Donny comes over from Oswald Cobble pot. That was until Harley Quinn's daughter Lucy came into the picture that everything changed.

Harleen Quinnzel / Harley Quinn:

Harleen used to have her very own talk show and despite living in a trashy apartment would do everything for her daughter, and having full custody of her daughter with a man, that she does not want to have back in her life. One being her father and the other being Lucy's father. Harley Quinn was only 19 years old when she had her daughter Lucy, and as she put it, "she was the best thing to ever have happen to her." of course her parents at the time told her that it would destroy her life, and now ruin her chances of finding a good husband. Despite the fact that her mother kept forgiving the same man that tore their family apart from day one.

She would instead marry the man her mother warned her against, as her own mother was not someone who should give advice if she herself can't use it. Harley is than stuck in a relationship with this man who does not care for her, and makes her feel worthless. He berates her, and all he does is drink.

When Harley gets a job offer to have her own talk show, her boyfriend scoffs at her telling her that she will never get in, as she already quit college to raise her daughter. Harley finally snaps and threatens to leave him and take full custody of her daughter if he ever speaks to her that way again. After a tense argument he retaliates by slapping her across the face.

Causing Lucy's first memory to form in one of violence. The police are called and the man is never seen again. She raises her daughter until she is 6 years old in which she meets the Joker. someone who was willing to step up, and eventually become the step father.

Which Harley warms up to, but under one condition, that she sleep separately from him, until she has gained enough to trust to let her daughter be around the clown, as Lucy has a slight fear of clowns, but eventually not towards Joker, who she calls, "daddy clown!"

Since its Father’s Day I have some head canons for the 2004 Batman universe some negative, some positive, and maybe some in between but first let’s start with the Positive and neutrals:

Positives:

Barbara Gordon / Batgirl: She celebrates with her father and with the billionaire Bruce Wayne (Bruce filling in for Barbara's deceased mother, and knows the feeling two fold). Batman disguised as Bruce Wayne bc being The Batman is also a full time job as well as also gathering Robin, which is like a little brother to Barbara.

Barbara can complain about not being Batgirl as she puts it "it's better being with the ones you love while you still have them."

Dick Grayson: Despite losing both his parents due to their performance in the circus, Bruce Wayne / Batman takes it upon himself to be Dick Grayson's adopted father, as Bruce Wayne knew himself what it was like losing his own parents.

Dick Grayson has his own unique way of showing his adopted father Bruce Wayne his appreciation, usually in the close range of Bruce, and in his line of sight. Dick Grayson begins to perform summersaults, backflips, and other tricks he has grown up with during his time at the circus.

Bruce / Batman also installs a large circus tent with a Styrofoam ball pit and fabric hanging from the ceiling of the tent to hold on to. Not only was it for "training" but it was also for his son to reclaim the lost identity he once had the day his family unfortunately passed.

Also Bruce Wayne installed a popcorn machine and front row seats so he and Alfred can watch Their little robin together, (it was Barbara Gordons Idea! :D ).

Bruce Wayne / Batman: Despite the fact that he has lost his family all those years ago when he was only 10 he never stopped fighting for them, and even looked up to Alfred as a father figure, who also took Bruce Wayne's father in as well, and was a huge inspiration too his upbringing / utmost gratitude.

Now that Bruce Wayne in his thirties looks after Barbara Gordon / Batgirl and Dick Grayson / Robin, he makes sure that both of them have fulfilling lives and makes sure of it to. The kids can't be anymore grateful that The Batman is a part of their lives.

Neutral:

Ellen Yin: During the earlier seasons we see her being part of the GCPD, but as time progressed, she eventually stopped being the main focus s and became a sidelined character. Theis was largely due to the fact that during Fathers day she would have to go back to Metropolis, and see her family.

FUNFACT: Ellen Yin's first language is Chinese ( mainly due to the fact that her VA was the same person who played Disney's original Mulan). The type of Chinese that Ellen Yin speaks is entirely theoretical. However when she does visit, her father is always excited to see her. But is secretly hoping that his daughter would quit her job as he does not believe that it is safe for her to be out there all of the time, despite her joining the military instead of her father because of his injuries.

In later seasons, Ellen Yin must return back to metropolis after the death of her mother became apparent, and despite her fathers pleas, refuses, and even has extended family to help her father who is now immobile and in need of a wheelchair or a cane.

She also still keeps in touch with Bruce Wayne / Batman and have dated in the past (despite Jokers distaste for the relationship).

Ethan Bennett: After what Joker has done to Ethan, making him become Clay face, both Ethan's parents have been worried about their son and even dreading stepping a foot anywhere near Arkham Asylum, or where Joker's next hideout plans to be. When Ethan's father found out about what happened to his son, he is LIVID. What happened to his son was not only a tragedy but a grave mistake on Jokers part.

Even becoming paranoid and having a weak heart on top of that with medicine that was getting more and more expensive, before Bruce Wayne had to step in to convince the company to lower the prices otherwise, he will fire the corrupt owner Lex Luthor.

When it didn't work, he ordered Arkham Asylum staff to reform Poison Ivy to extract the medicine from her, which gave her the opportunity to turn a new leaf ( no pun intended!), which angered Lex Luthor as their was a higher demand for Poison Ivy's plethora of medicine benefits.

She eventually opened up her own apothecary, eventually reforming her through humbling experiences. Ethan's Dad got to live under the care of Bruce Wayne's watchful eyes, as he stayed in a better home with a live in maid, who Ethan fell in love with.

Love, Death and Robots season 1 episode 8 good hunting headcanon:

So, for those that have watched episode 8 in particular know the graphic content of its portrayal of women doing sex work, considering the fact that the episodes premise had to be in the late 1800's early 1900's or sooner. When Yan finds herself doing sex work, gets drugged by her client, who she is his personal prostitute, and wakes up on an operating table.

She mentions that "he can only get hard on machines, and he payed the ultimate price." It made me start thinking, if this is what happened to Yan, and it unfortunately worked successfully, how long was her client (who goes unamed cuz he nearly SA'd her, and humilated her for going underneath the scalpel, without Anesthesia), doing the "surgery" on women victims? Was it just women he did it to? Or was it men to?

Also, when we look at the clip where Li yang is remaking her entire body to have normal sized proportions, this is what you see:

SHE HAS NO FLESH!!!!!

Not only did that sorry excuse of a man / colonizer, humilated her, stripped her of her autotomical rights, but have also, stripped her of any resemblence of being human / Huli Jing, but made her into the image that HE WANTS. This episode also takes place during the British occupation where the Chinese were treated like lesser. So, her being turned into a robot could be symbolic of the mistreatment of Asian women when it comes to sex work and how they are treated, losing a whole chunk of yourself to fufill the twisted desires that your clients have over you.

Thank God there is people like Li Yang to help out, he gave her a chance, and he never regretted it, knowing that they were the same boat and having the message being against, exploitation and forced labor of another human being.

Anyways I am THOUROUGLY convinced that the Colonizer (is what I am going to call him from now on.) Has had his men practice on other women before, those unfortunate enough to gone through it, only for it to be unsuccessful.

No form of consent, nothing, they were just lab rats to him.

This is the same episode where we learn about Vee as well as see statues of the Wittebane brothers. I understand that this is a FAR stretch but I'm making an AU where Philip DID IN FACT HAVE DESCENDANTS, and DID in fact have his own family, and I DID state before that if William were to exist in another form, I did state he would've Philips son, and possibly his youngest IDK.

If Vivziepop were to go down the route of killing off Octavia instead of having her be her own person (maybe she gets to go to heaven, proving Charlie right idk) than fans have every right to stop watching Helluva Boss!!

Apologies for the long ass title, but I have seen a post where they had an inkling where they think that Octavia is going to be killed off, which I think on Vivziepops part is just dumb. Because it really goes to show that Stolas's "effort" in trying to rekindle his broken relationship with his kid is going to be all for nothing, because "BAM she go bye bye!" And since there was a leak where Millie was originally going to die, (or so we thought?) should be an indicator that Vivzie MAY have no problem in killing off her female characters to make tension for the male characters.

and if it happens to Octavia, then I understand the reason as to why people would stop watching the show. But I'm the type of person to wait until the episode is out and not be caught up in the drama and separate the art from the artist (if it's possible for Vivie's work). Also, the fact that Stolas wanted to sacrifice his life for Blitz, really comes to show you that he does not give a hoot (no pun intended) about his daughter Octavia. Way to go Stolas, being father of the year *eyeroll* but that's a whole different post as well as the fact (or theory). That Stolas may have taken advantage of Blitz, yikes my guy...well it would explain wanting to get almost executed so I'll give him that I guess.
