This week at the box office...

Went and checked out “Ant-Man” and thought that it was phenomenal!

Great cast, great humor, great action, and everything we’ve come to expect from Marvel’s recent reign of dominance.

I attribute the movies success to several things:

1) They let Paul Rudd, be Paul Rudd.

They didn’t try to turn him into this super serious action star, they just let him be the same charming, naturally funny, and likeable guy we’ve all become accustomed to liking. That’s huge.

2) “The Avengers” involvement was kept to a minimum.

Saying too much more than that could potentially serve as a spoiler, so i’ll just leave it at that. 

Obviously we all love “The Avengers” or their movies wouldn’t pump out billions of dollars, but “Ant-Man” is a character that your casual movie goer isn’t going to know nearly as much about. It was important that they spend this 2 hours letting the people get to know that character without the interference of the rest of the crew. Very well done.

3) Stellar supporting cast.

Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll (whom I, admittedly, had only previously known because of his excellent portrayal of Peter Russo in the awesome “House of Cards”), and Evangeline Lily. Super cast, all the way around.

4) It NEVER hurts to get to look at THIS for 2 hours...

NOTE: Stay until the VERY end of the credits. There are 2 additional scenes, and it will be WELL worth your time to stay.

The lackluster opening weekend of this movie serves as further evidence that Adam Sandler has just served up too many consecutive turds to draw substantial box office numbers anymore.

The “Billy Madison’s” “Happy Gilmore’s” and “The Waterboy’s” of the world appear to be FAR in the past, and their doesn’t appear to be any signs of a resurrection in sight.

“Hotel Transylvania” is the best movie Sandler has turned out in years, and it’s animated.

On a final note....

I have no illusions that the average person on tumblr ever actually opens a newspaper. You know...those things that USED to bring us the news before one click apps, Google searches, Wikipedia, and worst of all,...Facebook?

Anyway...

Chances are, your local newspaper probably has some sort of “Ask Amy” column where readers reach out for advice without ever having to actually I don’ know, SPEAK to another person face to face.

Well THIS response is the greatest E-V-E-R.

This chick wouldn’t invite her sister out with her and her bible thumping, upper middle class, soccer mom with the annoying ass family stickers on their back windshield having, entitled ass housewives because her sister “wasn’t a church goer, didn’t have as much money as her and her friends, and was a single mom.”

What’s worst of all...this chick wanted Amy to feel sorry for HER because she never invited her sister out with her friends and her sister was upset about it.

We ALL have people we’d rather not invite out on social events.

I didn’t invite my wive’s grandmother to my 30th birthday party because she’s a Southern, old school, holier than now, bible thumping broad who thinks that anyone who drinks, has pre marital sex, or has tattoos is a bad person and needs Jesus, so I didn’t invite her because I wanted to be able to listen to loud rock and roll, drink beer, and curse until my heart’s content with my awesome ass friends in a judgement free environment.

Does that make me a bad person?

NO.

What WOULD make me a bad person is not inviting her, and then acting like she was the enemy and less of a person for getting upset about not being invited.

There IS a difference.

And how does Netflix justify the membership fee increase once we’ve binge watched “House of Cards” and “Orange is the New Black” til our hearts are content?

With THE weakest line-up of movies in the streaming game this side of Hulu?

And at least Hulu offers you shows the night after they air.

Netflix can expect a prompt cancellation of my membership from me and no doubt many others shortly following the price hike.

They already know that something is going on, and curiosity will lead them to turn toward anyone willing to speak up on the subject. The porn industry is — if you’ll excuse the implication — pretty loud.

Before I proceed any further, I think it’s important to note that at least 20% of the teens surveyed here are flat out LIARS.

I don't know what's so "terrifying" about it, personally. 

I watched WAY before 18, and I've never cheated on, or sexually demeaned a woman in any way. 

I have a beautiful marriage with an incredible woman that I consider my hero. All of that despite watching porn as soon as I could get my hands on it. 

What's "terrifying" are public school sex education programs that teach kids to abstain rather than to protect themselves. That teach alternatives rather than facts so that we can send educated and enlightened young men and women into the world to make decisions. 

What's "terrifying" is a culture that defends rapists like Bill Cosby, buys the music of women beaters like Chris Brown, and keeps Josh Duggar on television.
