I'm setting attainable goals by breaking overall goals into bite size "To Dos". For example, How do I decrease stress? I'm going to do 3 things that will help me decrease stress. How don't eat clean? I've purged my pantry and filled my refrigerator with yummy and fresh foods. I've also ordered some @petespaleo for emergency meals. Lastly, with exercise, my approach covers mobility and strength, and the endurance is slowly building. #rainingday + #sickchild = #chickensoup Make broth: Rinse chicken thighs, legs, feet, neck. In large stainless steel pot add water to cover chicken, 2 TBS apple cider vinegar, sit for 30 min. Add onion, bring to boil, scrape scum off the top. Lower heat to low/simmer, cover and cook for 2 hours, take out chicken, pull meat off. Set aside. Good process veggies: onion, carrots, celery, broccoli stocks. Add to soup and simmer until tender. Add back chicken and parsley(optional). #enjoysickdays #functionalnutrition #nutrientdensefoods

Working out is only one piece of the puzzle towards health and fitness. We also have to eat anti-inflammatory and healing foods that our body can use for fuel. We need clean fuel that balances our hormones for a healthy body and brain. I'm attempting to eat these canned oysters for lunch. For my 6 year old's class. They have been learning about different cultures from parents. It was my turn today to talk about #China and #ChineseNewYear. It was during lunch so I made #lomein for the first time. Boil salted water to cook #GF rice noodles. Drain & set aside. Heat #pastured lard. Throw in gloves of garlic and chunks of peeled ginger. Allow both the garlic and ginger to brown and infuse the oil with its flavors. Because it was for kids, I didn't mince the garlic and ginger. I just wanted a mild flavor of the two. Therefore, pick out the browned garlic and ginger pieces and throw away. Toss in precut bag of shredded broccoli and carrots. Sauté for a couple minutes. Then add pre-shredded cabbage. (I forgot to add my snow peas, so I had to do an extra step. But you can add the snow peas after the cabbage). Sprinkle some salt and add butter. Add pre-cooked noodles. Sprinkle sesame oil and #coconutaminos to taste. Toss noodles to mix with #vegetables. And serve. #traderjoes #didruntoday
