Rosalie Hale: Rosalie was in denial at first. According to her track record, she hasn’t had the best of luck with relationships. She won’t want to accept that she loves you out of fear. When you can prove that you truly care for her then Rosalie will realize. Maybe after you get her a sweet gift, comfort her while she’s in pain, etc. That’s the turning point.

Alice Cullen: Alice sort of finds out that she loves you before it actually occurs after she has a vision of you and her having a happy future together. Talk about a spoiler alert. She doesn’t hide this from you either. Alice confessed to you what she saw and even if you don’t feel the same at first, the more time you spend together, her vision ultimately comes true.

Leah Clearwater: Leah discovers that she’s in love with you shortly after she imprints on you. Despite what the imprint is telling her Leah may not want to accept it at first. She hasn’t had much luck with love but when you prove that you truly only have eyes for her that’s when she finally understands her own feelings.

Esme Cullen: Esme knows that she’s in love with you when he realizes she can have a family with you. That’s all she’s ever wanted, to be happy to build a big family too. After you prove that you want the same thing and that you can make her dreams come true, Esme knows for sure that you’re the one.

Me: but you see the thing is that Bella never wanted money or fancy clothes or fast cars. What she wanted was to be safe, to have a family that cared about her, and that’s what Jake was! He was her family! He loved her unconditionally! And she was happy when they were together, and she loved the gifts he got her because they were thoughtful and personal and showed he knew her! Why would she go back to Edward after that?

Starbucks barista: yeah but the thing is that what she wanted over everything was security. Bella was forced to grow up too fast. She never had a real childhood, she always felt too responsible for her mom. And she was terrified of growing older. The Cullens provided a security and an escape even if it came at a cost. That was why she chose Edward, not realising that Jake was what she needed.

twilight had all the makings of a fantastic comedy and missed its true calling

1) they are in love and he wants to kill her

-this sets the scene for hilarity, the interactions that could’ve been! but instead it is used for angst…booo

2) vampire baseball

-when teenagers get superhuman abilities, they use them to be better at things they already did (see teen wolf). using what are essentially superpowers to play baseball is exactly the right vibe all of the twilight books needed

-vampire vs werewolf baseball, extreme bets, nothing is safe

3) the cast of background characters

-carslile trying to explain how he knows someone has a blood infection the minute they walk in the room

-alice is amazing and does not spend nearly enough time freaking everyone else in the town out with trippy future telling abilities

-edward reads minds, imagine trying to keep a straight face hearing the thoughts of an average high schooler, so much potential

4) bella is simultaneously the most capable and least capable person in the books

-she can’t walk but she cooks every night for the dad and she’s great at science I think, make this contrast even more extreme

-her absolutely bashing into things trying to keep up with all her non human buddies, every time they show any skin its bruises bc she ran into a coffee table

Tl;dr Twilight should’ve been a comedy with less angst, commit to having non humans trying to have fun and function in day-to-day society

Well, here we are. The metaphorical first blank page that is itching to be filled. I am one of many readers who wish to create something of their own one day. I am working on a few stories at the same time, so I guess here is where I will talk about them, perhaps post snippets  and re-blog things that inspire me ?
