Wall-E headcanon
I want a non-kid sequel of Wall-E that explores what happened to the other ships that left earth. There's no way that the Axiom was the only ship left that had evacuated Earth. For the last 700 years, each ship has sent back EVE probes searching for sustainable life, and now they are all coming home. The ship that left with the BnL president is a political nightmare, with intricate societal rules that no longer make sense but are adhered to because it fits the leadership agenda. They suffer the same bone loss and obesity as the Axiom passengers, but they are more cunning and less prone to distraction from mindless entertainment. In fact it was their plan for the passengers on all other ships to have no real sense of purpose, making them easier to rule if a return to Earth was ever made possible. Another ship recognized the potential for AI early on. They now live symbiotically with the technology, developing means to interact and eventually becoming a new species, neither human nor robot. The robots brought logic and analysis, and the humans brought emotion, empathy, and the ability to create art. Still another ran into a hostile alien species. They became a cruel warrior people, without compassion. When the autopilot tried to keep the ship from returning to Earth, the passengers dismantled all tech and put it back together in macabre combinations. Through thorough humiliation and torture, all tech has been reduced to basic circuitry and the robots live in slavery. The politicians try to rule over all, on the principle that they are descendants of rulers, but the policies and committees and rules are dismissed by the robot-humans and the warrior class, who did not have as many physical consequences of being in space and refuse to be told what to do by a "panel of marshmallows." The robot-humans are horrified by the treatment of AI by the politicians and the warriors, and start a revolution to lead all AI to freedom. The warriors try to bring all under submission using brute force. The soft passengers of the Axiom are caught in the crossfire of the clashing cultures. It's up to Wall-E, the reluctant leader of a misfit band of robots and humans, to bring peace to the factions of Earth and prevent a war that, if fought, will certainly destroy his home planet.

But I don’t see this as a curse. It’s an honor. This is what the Lord has given me to do. She has served this family her entire life. And now it’s my turn to serve her. I might not have her mentally. But I have her. I can still make her smile. I can make bubbly noises, and blow on her, and she’ll smile. Every morning we’ll sit in this chair and we’ll cuddle until noon. I rock this lady more than I rock my grandchildren. She likes to slip her hand under my shirt to feel my skin. And she still likes to kiss. Every once in awhile she’ll reach up and give me a kiss. Sometimes she starts ‘yakking.’ She doesn’t say actual words. And it doesn’t make any sense. But I never tell her to be quiet, because it’s better than nothing at all.”

I say, “I think I need to re-install my filter.”
She asks, “Oh, you think so?”
I tell her about today, the man who is angry at me, because I proved that he took a month of my education away. It couldn’t change anything. I had done it because I could. 
She says, “Remember, I was not as outspoken when I was your age as you are now. If you don’t stop, what will you be like in 20 years?”
Well, I would like to think I will be someone who is fun to watch.
She says, “Will that be watching in amusement, or in silent embarrassment and horror?”
And I was a little hurt, because, “It’s not like I’ll be Donald-Trump-terrible.”
And then she said, “Well, we will see.”
I told her, “I’ll never be that bad. I will not be racist, sexist, or self-centered bad.”
And my mother replied, “Well, you are traveling a pretty dark path right now.”
And my heart broke a little
because I’m Pagan. And that’s just as bad as being a pussy-grabbing, volatile, reality-star politician.
