You know I was feeling nostalgic one night and came upon a compilation of Jody Mills from Supernatural (She's amazing, I love her and will fight and die on this hill) and one clip was when Jody was going to a hunter's funeral, Sam and Dean asking to join her, stating that they didn't go to hunter gatherings because John thought they caused trouble and was thus reminded how isolated John made Sam and Dean.
Like, they had connections within the Hunter community, Bobby being a major one for the boys but cutting down to the point, Sam and Dean couldn't construct relationships with people outside the hunting community because 1. John had them moving school to school, living in motels with no proper way to keep in contact with anybody and 2. They lived such a different life that I doubt they could connect with anyone they meet, at least not well enough to create something and keep it. So the hunting community was probably the only place they could try to create friendships or anything really (especially for children their ages) but the problem with that is John still isolating them from that community as well whilst keeping them in it.
Now, I won't say there's anything wrong with protecting who your children befriend, especially in a community where killing, trauma and hunting is second nature but John didn't trust anybody. Bobby was trusted enough to leave his boys with him because he was John's supernatural teacher, but in the end John wasn't above cutting off people from their, already, very small list of people they interacted with, examples of Ellen or Elkins.
They had to have been heavily isolated because they were children who couldn't connect to other children outside the hunting community, and if they did, they did it with the fear of knowing it wasn't going to be long before they left again. And then in the hunting community, no other kids for them to interact with and the few adults they did interact with were people John could and would argue against (John and Bobby arguing on wether the boys should have the experience to play catch or learn to shoot a gun.) and/or cut off with no explanation as to why, just that they were cut off (Ellen and Elkins)
and this is me not going into the years where John didn't take them hunting and they were just left in a motel.

So, I just started a Netflix show called ‘Evil’ and I just gotta say one thing.
I f u c k i n g love it.
What the hell? Where has this been my whole life?? Why am I just learning of this now????? Why is there only two of the four seasons on Netflix???? It’s cancelled?!?!?! Im barely on season one and I’m mourning the end already because I’m in love with the story writing but especially the characters.
Story wise it’s great, a main trio working for the Catholic Church in small cases where it has the characters and the watchers wonder if any of the religious beliefs are real or not, each character having their own take on the case. If there is an explanation behind it or if there really is something else at play. A plays amazingly on the edge of both that has you wonder as well as calling out some real situations and modern/or decade old problems and hypocrisies. They also really tie in cases together well, it makes you wonder if this small case is really only a small case or a small gear for the bigger plan. I really enjoy the story but again, the characters?
In love.
The main trio is built with a black man with past troubles that haunts him as he devotes himself to becoming a catholic priest, a south Asian man (Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm going based off what it says when I searched it up) that’s an atheist but raised on Muslim beliefs and a woman psychologist who was raised on catholic beliefs but also is an atheist herself. And they all are on a team who work for the Catholic Church.
It’s an amazing dynamic from description alone but how they show it on screen? It's shown rather than said. They debate and have conversations about the cases they go to because of their various views now and growing up. They tease each other about it sometimes in a way that's not cruel or demeaning.
I love the little moments where Ben and Kristen look at each other as the only atheists on the cases, the interactions with Kristen and David bonding by arguing and listening about their different beliefs and it not being the end of the world as it would be in other religious shows. Even better is that they don’t just focus on the relationships between the men with Kristen, they build off a relationship between Ben and David by having them have multiple scenes together without Kristen and letting them have their own dynamic.
I was very surprised when they showed David and Ben doing things without Kristen having needed to be there, usually it'll be said rather then showed but it makes the dynamic and the interactions they have together seem more natural. It isn't a trust or a support that's told to us, they show it.
And the tension? Jesus, I get wanting to fuck a priest but Kristen takes it to a whole new level.
Other characters I’m loving is the girls, I've seen a few call them the L's. I’m not usually one for so many children in shows unless it's the point of the plot to have them but they really made me care for these girls really quickly, with how they behave.
They really do act like siblings of various ages who all grew up together in a small home. It's also in the way where the girls are affected by the cases their mother goes into; It is being brought back to them but they have yet to include themselves to the cases unless helping by giving insight to Kristen for her to bring to the others.
It's also their antagonist, Leland, the only white man we know by name in the show, for one. I have no clue if he's an actual demon or a psychopath working with others under the structure of religion. It plays well into the middle ground of whether or not the cases are of an other world problem, or this world's problems. He makes my skin crawl and I applaud the writers, the directors, producers, team and the actor for that.
I'm probably going to posting more things as I keep watching but holy fuck I'm in love already.

!!!!!!! MAGNUS PROTOCOL SEASON 1 EPILOGUE SPOILERS !!!!!!!!!
So, I want to scream. Forever- preferably into the black hole / universal brain altering horrific beauty that is the reality wound.
The next few paragraphs should be proceeded with caution- I might have actually gone insane while writing this and you can tell by the strange paste and everything as it slowly goes down and drowns with other t.v. show references because my mind was racing.
So, I guess don't read if you don't want random unimportant references to Gravity Falls, Teen Wolf and My Babysitter's a Vampire.
Okay, first off. I both live in fear and excitement for the OIAR under Gwen's leadership because she is clueless. She is in the same position of power as Elias as in Archives but the exact opposite on everything else. She has no clue of the horrors that are truly around her, the few externals she has met is nothing in comparison to what Lena must know- to what Elias knew. Unlike Elias, Bastard of the Eye, his eyes are wide open to everything.
Gwen? Gwen has her eyes shut closed tightly and those few moments with the externals she spent was just her squinting at the bright light of horror that the actual world she lives in is. She doesn't even know what to do now that she is appointed Lena's position, she's just waiting there, tapping her nails away on her desk. She doesn't have a clue on what to do. She might have honestly aimed for a position of power she had no clue about, she just wanted the position and maybe the power that came with it within the OIAR without clearly seeming to think through what Lena might have been doing behind closed doors.
She's floundering and maybe if things had been alright, she could have learned slowly- if not in its own spectacularly horrible way but now? Now? Now is actual hell, Sam and the Archivist, in their eyes, presumably died. Colin is most likely dead inside their own work room's servers. The only one who may have had some sort of clue was fired and gone, leaving someone who has their eyes shut leading it all and we still don't know what Teddy might bring to the table.
Also, about the Colin ending, he might actually be dead or that ending became the most fucked version of Soos crawling into the arcade game machine in the world- it'll be that episode of My Babysitter's a Vampire where Rory was taken over by the sentient tree's crossbreed roots of electronic and plant life except it's all in one server machine rather then a school's computer room and crossbreed of him rather then plant life. Which is horrifying if he's still aware.
Which, Hello?
Did the Freddie Program do this separate to the three voices within it, just a machine that has been corrupted in a way similar to the tape recorder being able to bite? Did Jon? Martin? Jonah? Some fucked sense mix of the three's consciousness trying to move things along? Will Jon, who has been shown to place his hands into things via emails and specifically placed statements, send Gwen emails as a way to guide her into doing what he wants, guide Alice or Celia into something else?
In a fucked up sense will Jon become the Eye to this group of people, except more hands on? Will he be something similar to the Web and the Eye in the way where he isn't just watching as the Eye had but also playing a part in it well enough to pull strings along?
Is Jon building his own web of manipulations and schemes in this world, to become a later antagonist? Are the other two aware of this?Is Jon aware of this? I might actually go insane with how many random thoughts my brain is just coming up with as I write this.
Colin- Colin. My bastard, I'm in pain because we saw so little of him, less than Sasha which is why I'm leaving that horrified ending scream not as a 'he's dead!' and more of an horrifying open-ending of Colin pulling a Corey being part of the train stations's electrical manufacturing in Teen Wolf- like, it would be horrifying if he's alive let alone aware of everything that is happening but anything to make the problems here even larger. Colin fighting Jon literally from the inside.
Finally, the smallest but biggest thing of the whole Epilogue, Sam. He's alive! Hadn't doubted that because main character but what of the Archivist- what of the world they landed in? Is it our post-apocalypse world of Magnus Archives or new, crueler/kinder world? The tape recorder is there and we heard from it so we will hear from Sam still in this new world along with those in the OIAR within the computers, phones and lines.
I'm passing out now, the black hole / universal brain altering horrific beauty that is the reality wound has been screamed into.

!! Spoilers To The Magnus Protocol !!
......
.....
....
...
..
.
Okay, so episode 27. Hell of a lot. We got the man Trevor as minister, some nice clarification and build between Sam and Celia, Alice now openly participating in all this going as far to joining, Celia being made aware of their monster crawling out the Archives but more specifically with a room for the Archivist. We got not just an Augustus story- but an this worlds Jonah Magnus perspective and words made even better being told through Augustus but also Hilltop Road being referenced again and now, hopefully, being the setting of next weeks episode.
What I'm wondering though, is the state of Hilltop Road because from episode 7, the Centre has been open and used (very little) after 1997, during 2015-2016 and during that case, was gunned down but also burnt down by a man who worked for a security company they hadn't disclosed in the email. Unless I'm misunderstanding something here because I usually multi-task when listening to these episodes in the early mornings, Hilltop Road Centre isn't going to just be burnt and gunned down, but also filled with useless junk since that episode heavily used Claustrophobia and if the job was done correctly by the mystery man in the email, remains of the thousands of similar people filling the room to a point of suffocation.
What I'm getting at is that Hilltop Road Centre may be in a similar state to The Magnus Institute, burnt down. But, that does not mean nothing can come out from it. Clearly, something crawled out from the Archivist room, [ERROR] or more called recently, Archivist. The Magnus Institute was a heavily important place and one with significance enough to cause something crawling out of it from another's curiosity. Hilltop Road, another very significant place, something crawling out of it wouldn't be farfetched. Question would be, how farfetched is it and what would crawl out from its, plausible, ruins. Spiders? Another Tape Recorder? Another [ERROR] or person in a similar state as Celia? Something will come out from Hilltop, I'm just excited to find out what could come out from such a place.

-- TMAGP SPOILER EPISODE 25 / Nothing big but still, very small implication of what happened in the new episode --
This has no logic behind it in any shape way or form, I just think it would be fascinating if not horribly ironic if Melanie turns out the be the new I.T. person. I've seen a few people say Sasha being the new I.T. person and I can 100% see the appeal to that but I would like to just point out that Melanie King has yet, in any form, to be mentioned.
Like I just think it's strange we haven't even heard her mentioned specifically by Celia as we have the other characters. Like, Jon and Martin being mentioned makes since, Jon was legit the antichrist and Martin was his plus one, they were attached to the hip so it would make sense to have them mentioned together and first because they are or related to the reason the world ended. As to the fact that Celia has met them before, even if for a little time.
Celia already sees Georgie in person often, already connected to her in this world. Celia looking for Helen is questionable because Helen tried to eat her when they met and I wasn't aware Celia knew Helen was someone before they met.
Celia looking for Basira before she looked for Melanie is also strange because, unless I'm remembering wrong, Melanie was the blind prophet of the people they saved, she was like their Jesus but more apocalyptic cult vibes, wouldn't Celia look for her before Basira and Helen? Then episode 25 came out and Lena looking for a new I.T. person and I think it would be a fascinating and tragically ironic if that new I.T. person to be Melanie.
Like it's not impossible, Basira is in a educational position rather than law enforcement and didn't seem to ever think about going into law enforcement. Melanie going from YouTube (God was she? I remember her going into scary places but I can't remember if she was a YouTuber or not) to being an I.T. person in this world wouldn't be an insane idea.
Yet the idea of Melanie being a normal I.T. person dragged into this horror story in the same way she was a horror explorer YouTuber dragged into the horror story is tragically ironic because she is going to work close to and with the Freddie system, Jon, Martin and Jonah, in some fucked up similar way she had in TMA. Except it would be the most fascinating thing in the world because what is Celia gonna do? How is she going to behave around Melanie? Melanie was her client as a therapist then became her savior, a literal blind prophet, when the world ended. Would she follow Melanie's words? Agree with anything she'll say? Or will she think that Melanie isn't yet a blind prophet because she isn't blind yet and, at the end of her line, snaps and tries to make her blind to allow her to gain prophetic visions and save the world before it ends? Like she's going to have a reaction. And to new listeners, Melanie being the new I.T. person wouldn't be strange at all, she hasn't been mentioned or even implied by Celia yet so no one would know of her but Celia's behavior towards her, the reaction and what she does afterwards would send more red flags like the ones she already has given.
Anyways, that's my random thought I had, New I.T. personnel Melanie at your service.

Somewhere
I mourn for somewhere that does not exist. No, I am not a nostalgic person. I am not nostalgic for the smells of plastic crayons and worn books. Nor the taste of tears and pains of scrapes long healed. I do not miss my childhood, no matter how warm the sunshine mixes with the cold winds on my skin. At least, as nostalgic they are, they are within my memories.
I yearn somewhere that does not exist. No, I am not a hopeful person. I am not hopeful for the fantasy of a future within my reach. Not the foundation of connection I can lay. Nor the years of plans of a stable future. It is not the warmth of a fire place in the building I call mine and home that I miss. At least, as hopeful as they are, they are within my own hand's creation.
I crave somewhere that does not exist. I mourn- I yearn for this somewhere that does not exist because I cannot have nostalgic memories of it, I cannot have future plans for this somewhere that cannot be created. It pains me that this somewhere is so outside my reach- my existence, that it is indescribable to my own senses.
It is indescribable. Senseless. Formless. It is Ineffable.
I just know I miss it. And that I will always mourn and yearn for this somewhere.
