It’s my favvv thing in the world to turn over Bruce and Steph’s terrible dynamic in my skull, and I’m always so happy to see other people’s takes and opinions and insights. Steph nation is so powerful genuinely super neat how many genius cool Steph fans I’ve met on here.

Great question vis-a-vis who’d I’d ship Crystal with. I had to think long and hard about this one, it’s a tough question for sure. I thought abt maybe a character she could’ve met through her work as a nurse, and briefly considered the Crime Doctor or even The Cavalier (given I’m p sure he works w Leslie a hot sec in the new52) for the pure stupid factor, but Crystal deserves way better than to date another supervillain. In fact, I think she deserves an exceeding normal partner. Like super normal. I couldn’t really come up with anything concrete tbh. If anyone else has any fun takes on this I’d so love to hear it just bc it’s a v interesting question, I’m just coming up blank.

Headcanon 1:  Realistic

No pressure, but for the ask game, suggesting Steph brown for the character and dealers choice for what kind of hc!!!

Realistic: Sees Barbara as her boss over Bruce. Like, yeah, most of the time she'll listen to Batman's instructions, but she defaults to Oracle. Batman is like, the manager at a different location of the same restaurant chain, if he's around you listen to him because he's technically above you, but he's not the one you report to. Oracle's who she submits reports to, gets patrols routes from, tells if she needs a night off, all of that kind of stuff because everyone has agreed it's better for team moral when Bruce is not her direct supervisor.

Funny (to me): The reason she teamed up with Penguin during Gotham Underground is because she was on her own Red Hood arc, but when she found out Black Mask was already dead she went "Oh. Actually I'm good then." and went back to business as usual instead.

Heart-Breaking: After what happened with Black Mask, Steph hates pet names. Sweetie, Honey, Darling, Baby, they're all out. The first time her mom calls her "sweetheart" after she gets back to Gotham she has such a bad reaction that Crystal has to call out of work to stay home and make sure she's okay. With time it gets better, Steph can hear the words without breaking down, but she's still not comfortable being refereed to that way anymore. She'll never be able to hear them without thinking of him.

I Do What I Want: I've said it before and I'll say it again, but Steph does not become a nurse. I do think she goes to school planning to pursue nursing, but then sometime in her sophomore or junior year she starts second guessing everything and wondering if she's only doing it because of her mom and/or Leslie. She has a crisis about this for a few weeks where she spirals and debates dropping out of school entirely, at the end of which she shifts her focus to physiology. Ultimately she ends up as a child physiologist (I have more thoughts on this, but that could be a whole post on it's own).

The first and last time I went to Red Hood's subreddit I saw a comment complaining that everyone is convinced Cass can beat Jason in a fight and their argument was 'jason can shoot her, what would she do after that'...like jason would even get a chance to pull out a gun on cass😭😭 also cass has been shot at since like the age of three. just take the l and move on.

Something really ironic about Steph’s obsessive concern over her potential similarity to Arthur, her certainty that this is how she is viewed by everyone she meets, that constant comparison she does, alongside the fact that Steph is actually very similar to Crystal in a lot of ways and it’s something she never really comments on at all.
