Beyond Limits - looking at how we will evolve with global warming. This tribe will travel through deserts carrying water in their backs, their skin will absorb droplets of moisture to rapidly absorb water. They have hooves to travel over the dry hot terrain and shovel hands to dig deep into the sands to find food sources. Their hairstyles create shade and markings reflect the sun from their skin!

These are images from my art installation which is an homage to our industrial past and the diminishing gas towers that changed the way we live today. Light boxes - represent the fallen structure, the tearing down down of gas holders that first brought light into our homes. By using electric lights it gives it a certain irony. The images are photographs of gas towers around London that are waiting to be pulled down. Museum Monuments - I created 2 metal structures in which The shadows show their former glory as big bold structures - mere shadows of their former glory. They are encased in plastic as museum pieces - do not touch! but they're just 2 rusty old objects indeed as in the way gas holders are looked at today. Visual Sound - I recorded the sound at the biggest remaining gas holders in London , Bow. The sound is of a deserted area where nothing happens. These structures were once the living and breathing souls of the city. There is only the sound of the odd car passing or the odd bird tweeting.i used plastic to bounce the sound off to represent our disposable culture. I chose fluorescent acrylic for its manufactured natural light forming ways. It's a nod to our industrialisation and the forms we create today. Year 5 ‘Youth of Europe’ brief, was to design a product for to encourage kids to be more artistic. I designed building panels of shapes and flouro colours to entice kids away from their computers and encourage hands on play time. Endless possibilities of shapes to be created. Grab a torch and you can make the shapes move. The panels are fun, creative and can also encourage interaction with other children. They can hugely improve on spatial and cognitive awareness also.

Year 5 we were to make a book under the title – Curate Create Created showing our year at uni. I decided to make 5 smaller books that were presented in an A3 box with the title ‘Curate Create Created’ spelt out across all 5 titles. Here are the results –

Beyond Limits

The brief was very free and open and we could design anything as long as it went beyond limits, as in human limits. I was thinking of global warming and how humans would adapt? In parts of Africa, water is already very scarce, so how would humans adapt to live in a terrain that has very little water over years. Here is a list of the attributes this tribe may have –
