Epic the Musical
In the realm of modern musical theater, a new contender has emerged, captivating the hearts of audiences with a contemporary twist on a classic tale. EPIC The Musical, a brainchild of Jorge Rivera-Herrans, is a creative adaptation of Homer's ancient epic poem, "The Odyssey." This musical odyssey has not only caught the attention of theater enthusiasts but has also taken social media by storm, with its song clips and behind-the-scenes videos amassing over 60 million views across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
The musical's roots are firmly planted in the rich soil of Greek mythology, retelling the adventures of Odysseus as he faces formidable foes and divine interventions in his quest to return home after the Trojan War. The narrative is divided into sagas, with "The Troy Saga" marking the first chapter, introducing audiences to the first five songs and setting the stage for Odysseus' epic journey.
Rivera-Herrans isn't just the mind behind the story; he's also the talent behind the music and lyrics, orchestrations, and production. His dedication to the project is evident in every note and lyric, creating an immersive experience that resonates with a modern audience while honoring its ancient origins.
The musical's reach extends beyond just viewership; it has fostered a community of over 30,000 fans on Discord, where enthusiasts can discuss, speculate, and share their love for the musical. This digital fanbase is a testament to the musical's impact and the universal appeal of its storytelling.
With each saga release, such as "The Ocean Saga," EPIC The Musical continues to gain momentum. The Ocean Saga alone garnered over 1 million streams within 36 hours on Spotify, a clear indication of the audience's eagerness for more content. This saga continues the tale with four more songs that delve deeper into the trials and tribulations faced by Odysseus and his crew.
The characters of EPIC The Musical are as diverse as they are memorable. From the wise Athena to the enchanting Circe, and from the mighty Zeus to the captivating Calypso, each character brings a unique flavor to the story, enriching the tapestry of this musical adventure.
As EPIC The Musical continues to evolve with each new release and performance, it stands as a shining example of how traditional stories can be reimagined for a new generation. Its success is not just in its numbers but in its ability to connect with people across different mediums and communities, proving that some tales truly are timeless.

Random Rant about languages
Okay so.
I've been researching.
Mostly, I'm going down wiki rabbit holes and books that are at least 600 pages minimum and....
Languages are fucking cool.
Like seriously
They're just soo--
Take for example, my current research: Sanskrit.
It's old. Obviously.
It's also the most structured ancient language known to man.
Compare it to several modern languages? And you'll realize how much people actually have to struggle reading and understanding most of them.
And a language that's been around for almost 4000 to 5000 years is much more structured, stable, and clear than say, a language that throughout its history deletes and adds vowels just cause.
(Cough french cough).
Not to say anything against languages, of course, I respect each and every language. But, it is ridiculous.
Like, I can understand how time can change languages. Even Sanskrit has changed so much that it's virtually impossible to say it's similar to its oldest form, Vedic Sanskrit.
But still, languages, especially ancient ones, are freaking amazing.
And once you learn enough languages, you start recognizing patterns in languages.
I have learned Korean in the past few years, which has brought up the total number of languages I know to 6.
And by know, I mean I can read, write and hold basic conversations.
Then I went west, trying to learn Greek. I immediately realized how futile of an effort that is.
Living in India, there's not a lot of Greek media that you're exposed to. Scratch that. There's none.
Compared to Korean, which had soo much material to learn from. Like all the Kdramas, the music, the films, the books?? I have been struggling to find some good Greek resources for conversation, grammar, and vocabulary.
So, i decided to go further west and try some German. Only to realize this is too easy. So I went back east, to learn Mandarin for a bit of a struggle.
The characters are hard enough, sure. But the vocabulary is so easy to catch up with that I'm afraid of what's next and how much harder it'll get.
The language looks intimidating. But actually learning it has made me realize that I'd been worried for no reason.
Then I tried learning Thai because my mom's brother lives in Thailand along with my cousin. He said that it's easy, kinda like our Indian languages, so I decided to start.
Only to be stumped in the first lesson because of how complicated the grammar and writing is!!
Like, why are there so many different ways of speaking a single consonant in Thai!!!?
But all of this has made me certain that languages that are soo similar and yet so different all make up the world's intricacies of culture and the lives of ppl throughout.
And yeah, I'd recommend that everyone try to learn as many languages as possible, cause why not??

MAGIC
Is it the nature of the bud
Blooming into a flower?
Or is it the smell of soil
Right after the fresh rain?
Is magic the feel of books with knowledge forgotten?
Or is it in the freedom of the bird leaving its nest?
Is magic in the sound of the music of the river?
Or is it in the colors of the rainbow in the sky?
Is it the eternal circle of life?
Or in the silent surprise of the butterfly breaking out of its cocoon?
It is all of this
And much much more
Magic is the truth in nature
From the smallest of ants
To the largest of whales
It is on land and in sea
And the mysteries of life and it's joys
Given freely
