Too Early for Me, 2024
I have been unable to keep up with this blog this weekend, I will try and update it tomorrow, once I have an iota of free time.

Wet Nose, 2024
My future plans for sharing my photography do not include a website. I intend for my work to become more niche, and less accessible. I may put together a yearly or so physical magazine showcasing my work, which would be available for purchase from me directly. If I feel like going through the effort of having one made.

Tired Snout, 2024
The decision to close this blog is not an easy one, but I would like to talk through my reasoning here. First off, the whole online publishing thing. I don't like sharing my photos out here. Every photo I post is being used, without my consent to train artificial intelligence, for which I receive no compensation. I started sharing photos not to gain exposure, or even make money, but to share my photos with my friends. And with that being said, I have noticed a decrease in interest from them. Combined with my unwillingness to share my absolute best online due to piracy concerns, I have little incentive to continue to share my work. I will admit this blog has been where I push boundaries with my art, as there are no real consequences I face for doing so. But maintaining this blog is a large time sink, that is more of a burden than a benefit. I will talk about my future steps in my next post.

Slightly More Annoyed, 2024
I was really testing Nala's patience when I took this shot. This blog's future is still uncertain. But I have decided to delay any decision until I finish out the semester, so you can expect at least 3 more weeks of posts.

Curious Kitty, 2024
You can fascinate a kitty cat with a camera. In this case, I was giving my brand-new nifty-fifty a try.

Paper Folds, 2024
My first macro lens strikes again. I'm not sure how long this blog will last. I may be closing it down soon. It has been fun, but there are serious issues with online publishing, especially for a visual media based artist such as myself. Plagiarism not just from shitty people, but also Artificial Intelligence is a growing risk of sharing my works online. I am planning on investigating a new way to propagate my works, but I won't get to work on it until I graduate. It would be a magazine/catalog, from which I would show art, and maybe an article or essay or two, with the option to purchase a copy, or a print shown within. It's very elaborate, but I am trying to reduce my digital footprint these days.

Uncertainties in Paperwork & Binder Clips, 2024
As I grow closer to graduating, the uncertainty of the quickly approaching future is rearing its ugly head. I don't know what I will do, but it certainly won't be art.

Skin Like a Rock, 2024
When life gets tough, get tougher. Even though I've had a really good stint of selling prints, I think that road is closed now for a while. My buyers are my friends, and that market is only so large.

Bald Spots, 2024
I was pushing the limits of my macro lens for these shots. it was one of the only times where the 1:2 magnification ratio was not good enough for my artistic vision.

Skinned Orange, 2024
I remember this orange. I took this picture almost a year ago now. Expect to see a lot more of it over the next few posts. I fell in love with the texture of it. This orange is the consequence of a recipe calling for a ton of orange zest.

Few Out, More to Come, 2024
The number one problem with macro photography is getting enough depth-of-field for the subject to be wholly in focus. All macro lenses have this issue. And my first macro lens had no aperture control, so every shot is wide open, if it didn't throw a fit.

Delicate Petals, 2024
These pictures are from when I got my first macro lens. I still have it, although I recently upgraded to a better one. Mostly due to that lens' anemic behavior.

Not Fully Bloomed Yet, 2024
I was trying to capture these the not quite fully bloomed yet flowers, without a distracting background. I sort of succeeded. There's another cluster in the upper right that's mildly distracting, but the center focus is also kind of boring. My early work has started to lose my interest. however, it will remain what I post as it is what i want to share.

Sun's Reflection in Dark Glass, 2024
It is important to look back frequently, to remember what has happened, but more importantly, to see how far you've gone.

Missing Tiles, 2024
Sometimes we are missing what we once had. But part of growth is losing what was had and replacing it with what is possessed currently. Being yourself is not a passive choice, but an active one that must be made over and over again.

Photographic Equipment on Landscape, 2024
Here lies my camera bag and old tripod. The tripod has been retired, and the bag is on the way out due to wear and tear. I like these hills here on campus, but it is hard to capture their depth properly just because they are so small.

Deadbloom, 2024
This flower may look alive in this picture, but it has merely fallen from its flowering tree, and will soon dry out and die. Life can be so short.
By the time this has been posted, I will have hopefully concluded some preliminary experiments for my camera projects. Hopefully the results are good.
I screwed up all of my photos from this evening, which is unfortunate, as I liked a number of them. But I accidently set my camera to grainy, and yeah... the pictures are all super noisy. And so upon inspection, I checked a number of my other pictures, from recent trips and they were also underwhelming. I think I just need to give pictures time to rest before I look at them.
