I love Klaus/Jesper because Klaus never thought he’d find love again after his wife died but then this dorky postman with wild ideas and a good heart comes to town and suddenly he feels that spark again and knows he’s in love and Jesper only came to the town with the goal to get out as soon as possible and was never looking for love in the first place but then this huge mountain of a man comes into his life and is kind to him and treats him like no one’s ever treated him before and he suddenly feels a warmth in his chest and knows he’s in love and it’s a love story where they complete each other and that’s love

Regardless of the result, Klaus still deserves the Best Animated Feature at Oscars this year.

Jesper isn’t an artist, by his standards. He’s got no formal training, no multisyllabic words to describe what he’s doing. He just…draws. Beginning in the margins of notebooks, the backs of improperly formatted envelopes. His style reflects that, a little simplistic, round shapes with fuzzy edges.

Another Klaus headcanon:

Klaus is very much an actions-speak-louder-than-words kind of guy and he tends to express his love by making/fixing things for people. Jesper doesn't realize this right away. Maybe Klaus is joking around about how the house he built for him and Lydia was basically how he proposed to her, and that's how Jesper puts the pieces together.

Of course this is a huge deal because at this point Klaus has been making/fixing things for him for months, way more than he does for anyone else, and now Jesper is like 99% sure he's been saying "I love you" in his own way the whole time.
